  • Mongi123 Yea man. Gates too lives in New Jersey.
    May 27 04:08 PM
  • Mongi123 I believe I've told you this but Trophy Scars is from a town like 15 minutes away haha
    May 27 04:03 PM
  • Mongi123 How amazing is the closer of that World Is A Beautiful Place album huh??
    May 27 03:54 PM
  • DaveyBoy Not as yet. Kinda going through what I've missed in chronological order, so still up to March. I will get there though.
    May 27 05:11 AM
  • Gameofmetal Lol for real?
    May 26 10:06 PM
  • Gameofmetal Well I think Im improving but my mom is insisting that I go to a doctor tomorrow. Should be alright tho.
    May 26 09:11 PM
  • Gameofmetal Real mexico actually lol. Quite a trip. Wouldve been better if I didn't have some ungodly reaction to the flight that afflicted me with throbbing, debilitating headaches.
    May 26 08:59 PM
  • Gameofmetal Not really progressing any sadly. I was on vacation in mexico last week with very little wifi so I didn't get to check out many albums and Ive been sick since I got back. By rights I should have gone through a good 15 to 20 albums since I got home but Ive barely listened to anything so far.
    May 26 08:43 PM
  • Mongi123 Okay. Every album is pretty different compared to each other. Wavering Radiant is straight up prog metal for most of the way.
    May 24 07:28 PM
  • Mongi123 Gah! Lol, try Oceanic. It's generally considered their best, for me too, and it has so many emotionally charged moments and a one of a kind atmosphere of heaviness.
    May 24 07:26 PM
  • Mongi123 Have tried actually sitting down with Oceanic for a full listen or just songs here and there?
    May 24 07:23 PM
  • Mongi123 Never been one for solely indie rock stuff maybe that's why idk. Stuff like Isis has just been my ****ing jam lately omg. You gotta jump on the train haha
    May 24 07:21 PM
  • Mongi123 I remember that one being pretty good. Not the biggest fan of them but they have their fair share of gems.
    May 24 07:19 PM
  • Mongi123 Yea that song is the one I go back to like constantly. What a climax it has.
    May 24 07:13 PM
  • paradox1216 I have heard of HTD but I haven't really checked them until I heard their newest one and they are indeed great. Also dude thanks for requesting my review to be featured recently =D
    May 24 03:43 PM
  • Mongi123 My rating is a bit lower than that but Where The Road Parts is so ****ing amazing. Has lots of gems but it's a bit overlong.
    May 24 02:06 PM
  • Crysis Thanks for the link. I've heard the second one but not the first, eager to hear it.
    May 24 08:50 AM
  • ExplosiveOranges gotcha.
    May 23 10:42 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges nah
    May 23 09:16 PM
  • Arcade i have it in mind for the big 100, along with quite a few albums have really bad ratings for. and damn, could've sworn there was an emeritus review for it
    May 23 08:23 PM
  • Mongi123 I think you'll really love Act II I'm telling you.
    May 22 04:03 PM
  • DaveyBoy Haha. They were already on my list to listen to. Although, it is a very long list. I was impressed with the 2 songs I heard
    May 20 04:19 AM
  • ExplosiveOranges Thanks, bruv.
    May 19 10:21 PM
  • Mongi123 I'm more inclined to do that with post rock or post metal honestly rather than prog.
    May 19 08:10 PM
  • Mongi123 Yea I forgot to say it reminded me of circa survive. Also nah I haven't had any desire to try any other DT
    May 19 07:55 PM
  • Mongi123 That was a nice song but yea nothing original. Also yea that's definitely a majority consensus haha
    May 19 07:24 PM
  • Mongi123 Yea bro I can't put a stop to Space Dyed Vest xD
    May 19 07:19 PM
  • Mongi123 Ok I'll check it out in 5 min
    May 19 07:17 PM
  • Mongi123 I mean, I honestly don't think so, but it's just whatever nonetheless.
    May 19 06:36 PM
  • Mongi123 I saw it's pretty terrible lol
    May 19 06:23 PM
  • DaveyBoy I'll add that to the list as well. Ta.
    May 18 07:16 PM
  • DaveyBoy All this talk of covers has me thinking about you know what: A discussion. Maybe next week or the week after. Start thinking about your all-time fave.

  • ExplosiveOranges Thanks, and yeah, a couple songs.
    May 17 11:33 AM

  • Arcade absolutely, i anticipate i'll like it more than most
    May 15 09:41 AM
  • Mongi123 Cool man, I'll prob continue listening to more Neurosis' stuff.
    May 13 05:42 PM
  • Mongi123 Yea go for it dude. What's your next band's you're going to try?
    May 13 05:39 PM
  • Mongi123 They're pretty covered with staff/emeritus reviews though and yea he did say that. Nonetheless, I'll breathe for a bit :)
    May 13 05:35 PM
  • Mongi123 Yea agreed I love reviewing but every man has his breaking point when it comes to actually having something to say. After 107, I think a break is well warranted. Even if I never come back to it and loose my tag I'm proud of most of my stuff.
    May 13 05:31 PM
  • Mongi123 Good s*** dude! You gonna be reviewing a lot more? Idk if you saw me tell Talons, but I'm gonna take a long break from reviewing and come back to it when I have something more to say. I'm just gonna focus on listening for now :)
    May 13 05:27 PM
  • Arcade i'll listen to the whole thing at some stage but like jesus ****ing christ 3 bloody hours
    May 12 10:23 AM
  • Arcade idk, haven't jammed it yet cos 3 hours long
    May 11 11:30 PM
  • Mongi123 I remember trying And So I Watch You From Afar's big record and it was pretty cool
    May 10 09:50 AM
  • Arcade settling on a 3 for it :}
    May 10 08:31 AM
  • Arcade Australia representing m/
    May 10 08:20 AM
  • Arcade most power metal is lol
    May 9 09:43 PM
  • Arcade Keeper of the 7 Keys pt 1 2 are really excellent listens
    May 9 08:53 PM

    May 9 07:51 PM
  • Arcade i *might* check The Black Halo, and hey, who knows, i *might* even give it a 3.5 if i'm feeling generous
    May 9 07:37 PM
  • Arcade bro i 4'd koi no yokan i reckon i could muster up something better for white pony lol
    May 8 02:34 AM
  • ExplosiveOranges Tonight or tomorrow I'll be finished.
    May 6 10:44 AM
  • Mongi123 Haha you sure have xD
    May 5 11:04 AM
  • Mongi123 Not that I don't wanna ever try it, just not right now.
    May 5 10:38 AM
  • Mongi123 I really haven't been interested in trying that type of stuff in a while man sorry. There's just so many post rock and post metal albums I wanna get to you know. That and Prog as usual is the stuff I'm into now.
    May 5 10:37 AM
  • Gameofmetal True. I already like them better than pretty much any power metal I've heard.
    May 5 10:27 AM
  • Gameofmetal Feeling a pretty strong 4 for Epica so far. It's seemed fairly lengthy at first and for power metal I thought it might get on my nerves but it's keeping my attention really well. They have a good variety across the album.
    May 5 10:18 AM
  • Gameofmetal i think March of Mephisto was one I've heard before. I remember it being pretty sick.
    May 5 10:09 AM
  • Gameofmetal Epica is pretty sweet. Seems lighter in tone than some of the tracks I'd previously heard but they were from later albums I think. Still a good time.
    May 5 09:59 AM
  • Gameofmetal Cool. Ill hit that up.
    May 5 09:46 AM
  • Gameofmetal Them prices tho
    May 5 09:38 AM
  • Gameofmetal Welp nothing before Epica is on spotify, so I think I'll just start there.
    May 5 09:29 AM
  • Gameofmetal My god the cheese is real but I kinda love it.
    May 5 09:24 AM
  • Gameofmetal Will give it a look see in the morning.
    May 4 10:16 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges
    May 4 10:12 PM
  • Gameofmetal Ouch. If it is really that bad I think I will just start at album number 4
    May 4 10:11 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges
    May 4 10:09 PM
  • Gameofmetal Lol I wonder if I start with their very first album and then go chronologically if it'll just turn me off the band or actually make their good albums seem that much better in comparison.
    May 4 10:08 PM
  • Gameofmetal Damn those avgs. Might start chronologically at the fourth legacy on and then maybe check the early ones out just for fun.
    May 4 09:54 PM
  • Gameofmetal Yeah I figured Black Halo was the place to start. Got their discog downloaded, just need to break it out some day
    May 4 09:50 PM
  • Gameofmetal At some point probably. I need to discog them first though since I've really only heard single songs as opposed to full albums
    May 4 09:31 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Hell yeah.
    May 4 02:25 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Solid.
    May 2 10:44 AM
  • Arcade besides Kveikur and Valtari? nope, lol
    May 2 05:43 AM
  • ExplosiveOranges Unfortunately, no.
    April 30 11:09 PM
  • TalonsOfFire Thanks, I'll check that out
    April 30 11:02 PM
  • TalonsOfFire I can never get gif avatars to work, and it sucks b/c I had a great one ready. Maybe I'll ask Jom for help like Oranges did.
    April 30 09:58 PM
  • TalonsOfFire Haha nice av dude, I see that scene posted all over the internet but have never seen it in context of the movie/show
    April 30 09:45 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Coo.
    April 30 07:33 PM
  • Gameofmetal nvm, link works now
    April 30 03:40 PM
  • Gameofmetal "This Video does not exist" is all that link brought me to lol. But yeah he's big on Soilwork and In Flames style melodic death metal plus Kamelot style singing, which is what I expect a lot of on his music. The actual instruments are a little more modern though, like in his old project Sea of Trees, which is pretty cool.
    April 30 03:39 PM
  • Gameofmetal That was pretty cool. Used to watch a lot of Ryan Strain's vocal covers back in the day. Heard he had a new band, but didn't know they had music out yet.
    April 30 02:24 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges smh you are just the worst kind of person
    April 30 01:42 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges I'm seeing them live tomorrow night, haha.
    April 30 01:36 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Hell yeah.
    April 30 01:30 PM
  • Mongi123 Yea I saw dude I'm stoked
    April 30 01:21 PM
  • Mongi123 Maybe at points but their music is more ambient driven post rock. Glad you liked it though I adore that song and entire record.
    April 29 05:16 PM
  • Mongi123 Well the obvious one is really the only one worth hearing but Hammock is a s*** ton better.
    April 29 04:10 PM
  • Mongi123 Yea it was sweet. You ever consider trying Hammock? Try Kenotic or Raising Your Voice holy s*** they're beautiful.
    April 29 04:06 PM
  • Mongi123 Idk Prob this one Collapse Under The Empire album considering it doesn't have a review.
    April 29 02:13 PM
  • SowingSeason hahaha yeah when I talk about things it reminds me of things, then I jam things
    April 28 02:14 PM
  • SowingSeason I just realized my last post made no sense, I meant to say if the new album blends BS's lyrics...etc
    April 28 02:11 PM
  • SowingSeason I'm really digging it. If it blended B,S's lyrical content and intensity with Ten Stories' melodies, I'd die from happiness.
    April 28 01:58 PM
  • Mongi123 Eventually dude sorry I've been busy with things
    April 27 04:58 PM
  • Mongi123 Well they're a bit better than them tbh ;)
    April 24 05:22 PM
  • Mongi123 Not really interested honestly but that's the one song from that album I always go back to. Very sublime ending.
    April 24 05:16 PM
  • Mongi123 Yo just wanted to say the sax ending to Altered State is stunning. Wish the album had more of that haha
    April 24 04:38 PM
  • DaveyBoy I had absolutely no idea it was even coming out. Thanks. And nice review too.
    April 24 09:08 AM
  • ExplosiveOranges
    April 23 05:18 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges DONE.
    April 23 04:51 PM
  • Mongi123 So do it then haha
    April 23 03:20 PM
  • Mongi123 Already started my rev for FBTB. Just the first paragraph cause I haven't listened enough yet, but I have the jist of it so far. Damn there really is something missing from this, it's too safe.
    April 23 01:13 PM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot np, if you still need help lemme know, it just won't be until later tonight
    April 22 10:35 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges
    April 22 10:34 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges ****, dude, I completely forgot about proofing your review. I can see if I can proof it tomorrow morning, but if you're feeling pretty good about it so far, you could just post it and I can give it a look tomorrow anyways.
    April 22 10:30 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges s***, I'm actually pretty busy today. I'll definitely see if I can get a good look at it in a few hours, though. Thanks for your patience.
    April 22 09:45 AM
  • ExplosiveOranges Lol, who is that?
    April 21 09:53 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges I guess you could say that I'd better hope he isn't..... On the spot.
    April 21 09:27 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Sweet. Sorry for the delay, but I think it'd be more beneficial if you could work with each of our pointers one at a time.
    April 21 09:19 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Yo, just checked the thread and noticed that Johnny gave some pretty good pointers. How about you try revising your with some of his tips and then I can proofread thed version?
    April 21 07:33 PM
  • Mongi123 I'm sure the hate will come soon haha
    April 21 06:32 PM
  • Mongi123 Haha okay dude
    April 21 01:50 PM
  • Mongi123 I have so much on my plate in terms of recs so probably won't in all honesty lol you should see my list of bands xD
    April 21 01:46 PM
  • Mongi123 Yea it's pretty safe but no real moment I genuinely disliked so I can't really complain anymore than that. They can do better. Needed a bit more of that atmosphere.
    April 21 01:44 PM
  • Mongi123 I loved Survivors and Moisture Residue a lot
    April 21 01:40 PM
  • Mongi123 Yes it's certainly good so far, but I do believe they could do much better.
    April 21 01:10 PM
  • Mongi123 I know I saw, gotta jam that s*** in a minute.
    April 21 01:00 PM
  • Mongi123 Nice, oh man it's sooooo good and the band is like that in general. I think you'd really love Wavering Radiant because it's more of a toolish prog metal vibe rather than post metal.
    April 20 01:50 PM
  • Mongi123 Yea I will. I'm gonna make an effort to try out lots and lots of lesser known post metal and post rock so that's on the list. But now, you know what to do ;)
    April 20 01:45 PM
  • Mongi123 I hear lots of early Ulver too. They play super well and the music does rule though so for what it is it's sweet so far.
    April 20 01:37 PM
  • Mongi123 Damn this album is very Opeth, but that's quite alright. Still because of that it's nothing mind blowing but I'm enjoying it a lot.
    April 20 01:31 PM
  • Mongi123 Good to know man, I'll try it soon
    April 19 08:54 AM
  • Mongi123 You check out that Isis album, and you have a deal ;)
    April 18 10:10 AM
  • Mongi123 Yea agreed it's amazing
    April 18 10:03 AM
  • Mongi123 Well, that is an anomaly. Lots of very unwarranted indulgent dark ambient stuff on there, which is surprising because it's only their first haha
    April 18 09:47 AM
  • Mongi123 The thing with post rock is that even if it is bland, I find most of it hard to hate because s*** even the blandest post rock I've heard is still nice music.
    April 18 09:43 AM
  • Mongi123 Haha got a nice review. I'll have to add that to the list.
    April 18 09:42 AM
  • Mongi123 Nice yea its a very well done entry level post rock album
    April 18 09:40 AM
  • Mongi123 Oh cool thanks. Did you try Sleepmakewaves latest album?
    April 18 09:37 AM
  • Mongi123 Haha good ol Jom xD Also check out my latest review dude.
    April 18 09:33 AM
  • Mongi123 Yea they're good. I plan on it soonish. I definitely wanna try to get into more lesser known post rock and post metal
    April 18 09:23 AM
  • Mongi123 Allow me to shove this song down your throat xD
    April 14 06:45 PM
  • Mongi123 Yea I believe you did. Definitely check that Isis album though bro
    April 14 10:29 AM
  • Mongi123 Yeeeeea haha, dude try out In The Absence Of Truth by Isis please, that album is my recent addiction.
    April 13 09:14 PM
  • Mongi123 I used to be more into BN but not as much anymore. Been so into Hammock, Swans and Isis lately.
    April 13 09:09 PM
  • Mongi123 Saw that it was posted, I gotta try it out.
    April 13 09:07 PM
  • Arcade certainly have, it's the beans.
    April 12 03:32 AM
  • Mongi123 Haha, they don't seem too essential so I'll prob stay away from them. Gonna try to get into more Swans soon, they're ****ing glorious! Definitely check The Dear Hunter's second album at least though.
    April 8 01:39 PM
  • Mongi123 The Dear Hunter sounds nothing like Thrice. In fact, check their second album it rules hard.
    April 8 01:34 PM
  • Mongi123 Oh no I was saying how I've heard poor describe Dance Gavin Dance as a poor man's Thrice. Is THAT true? xD
    April 8 01:34 PM
  • Mongi123 But you've listened to them so wouldn't you have an opinion on that? haha
    April 8 01:23 PM
  • Mongi123 I'm not the biggest fan of them but they're pretty sweet. And I've seen people describe DGD as a poor man's Thrice haha that true?
    April 8 01:19 PM
  • Mongi123 You mean The Dear Hunter? The band with Dr. Misleading? Then yes.
    April 8 01:05 PM
  • Mongi123 I have a project to do and I wanna wait for the ones on the front page to be gone first lol
    March 31 10:09 AM
  • Mongi123 Haha yea I'm going to but not today
    March 31 09:47 AM
  • Mongi123 OOOOOOKAYYYY we have four in a row let's calm it down
    March 30 09:53 PM
  • Mongi123 I'm done thank god lol
    March 30 09:41 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges No problem.
    March 30 09:41 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges done.
    March 30 09:28 PM
  • Mongi123 Damn that's rough man haha
    March 30 09:27 PM
  • Mongi123 Yes lol that was nine years ago and I turn 21 on yesterday
    March 30 09:25 PM
  • Mongi123 Both their debut and One-X had some killer jams agreed. Nothing too huge but still made my teens pretty damn fun and they're still fun. Like Riot, it's such damn fun haha
    March 30 09:22 PM
  • Mongi123 Cool. Let's be real here, they were never a great band. But they were still enjoyable entertainment for their first two and Adam gave that band that little spark with his vox. This just sucks lol
    March 30 09:18 PM
  • Mongi123 And me xDDDD I'm definitely gonna do this cause you know it's been a while since I've done something truly, and ONLY negative. But seriously, ADAM, COME BAAAAACK!
    March 30 09:14 PM
  • Mongi123 Well ****, this is literally the worst lol
    March 30 09:10 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Lol, thanks. And that is true, mostly because he'll just do it of his own accord, while I usually try when I can but mostly proofread stuff when I'm asked to do so.
    March 30 09:10 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges smh you think i'm just a generic replacement for johnny????????
    March 30 09:03 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges On it.
    March 30 08:38 PM
  • ChoccyPhilly Yo dude, olafur arnald's chopin project is on YouTube now. I've just listened and it's amazing in every sense of the word. Just thought his like to know
    March 30 09:34 AM
  • DaveyBoy Haha. You know, I might just be able to make that work somehow. Wouldn't want to make it too negative though. LOL.
    March 27 10:23 PM
  • Mongi123 Lol, but of course!
    March 27 09:54 AM
  • howmanycanyoufit oh yeah that was me
    March 26 09:22 PM
  • Arcade yeah but still the odds weren't in my favour lol
    March 26 10:34 AM
  • Arcade lol like i was gonna beat Matt, i was doomed from the start
    March 26 09:30 AM
  • howmanycanyoufit wait lol where did yr av come from
    March 26 02:01 AM
  • Arcade Arcadius Maximus is probably the best name ever tbh
    March 25 09:54 PM
  • SowingSeason No I didn't but thanks for reminding me. Sometimes he comes up with some really good recs.
    March 25 09:13 PM
  • Mongi123 It's like oh look an individual! We can't have that! It's like the different strokes phrase becomes completely meaningless sometimes.
    March 24 04:56 PM
  • Mongi123 Exactly. What that person said is basically just assuming I haven't. Like my friends jam that stuff literally everytime I hang with them out loud so I've heard PLENTY. I'm just indifferent to it. You're right, this place in general is just as bad as youtube sometimes.
    March 24 04:51 PM
  • Mongi123 It's like I respect that genre to death. It's just as much an art like everything else. But it doesn't affect me at all, and I've said that before and all I got was "then you're not listening to the right stuff." Like don't give me that s***, **** it not even bothering.
    March 24 04:46 PM
  • Mongi123 You're getting some serious hate for saying that lol Hip Hop isn't my thing so that's why I'm not gonna even bother and give it a s***ty rating.
    March 24 04:41 PM
  • Mongi123 Yea wasn't very happy with it haha. Oh well.
    March 24 03:55 PM
  • Mongi123 Yea final track ruled hard for sure but that one aside it was really boring. Didn't really have any character honestly. What you hear is what you get basically :/
    March 24 03:26 PM
  • Mongi123 Well the end can't save the whole thing lol I'm halfway through now. The second track was boring as **** and nothing so far has jumped out at me.
    March 24 03:09 PM
  • Mongi123 Hmmm I'm not happy with this so far. This really doesn't have that profound Omph or warranted pretension that any of their previous ones have :/
