  • Chortles so all this ts2 talk made me go through my closet and find my old copy, finally found it after digging around and i played siberia first thing. what a level man ugh it's still amazing. really holds up even if the aiming is a little wonkier than i remember
    August 26 11:57 PM
  • demigod! yeah. the whole ending of the show could've used some work honestly. I still liked it but it seemed like they were rushing to end it. still sad we never got a third season :'(
    August 26 05:56 PM
  • demigod! Have a head that's always screaming!
    August 25 01:01 PM
  • OmairSh Sorry to bombard you with so much stuff :-P. As we're talking I've gotten in the mood for Nusrat and some other Pakistani music after a while. So I thought I'd share a few songs I'm listening to. And yeah, the emotion and anguish is a mainstay of classical/folk singers, that modern Pakistani vocalists replicate. And also the extreme vibrato that you hear. That's also inspired by the folk singers
    August 25 01:39 AM
  • OmairSh Nusrat's featured on songs with a few Western musicians like Eddie Vedder. (Soundtrack of Natural Born Killers), (Collab with Michael Brook),, (Collab with Eddie Vedder)
    August 25 01:33 AM
  • OmairSh Classical singers of the sub continent have a lot of anguish in their vocals, and of course they have very high octave range. Muazzam Ali is actually the nephew of the late Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, who's basically the most famous classical/folk singer of the sub continent. Helps to have good genes :-D. Nusrat actually featured on a couple of live performances with Peter Gabriel. They were cool
    August 25 12:46 AM
  • OmairSh Yeah man I LOVE the atmosphere and groove of Neer Bharan. Zara does a fantastic job on vocals, and the backing vocalists support her brilliantly. I also love how they brought Muazzam Ali Khan for the outro (that's the guy on the second half of song #4). Zara Madani performed on another song and that one's amazing as well.
    August 25 12:18 AM
  • OmairSh Was listening to this just now. Another one of my personal favourites. Incredible atmosphere and groove. Love the bassline. I'll stop bugging you for now :-P
    August 24 01:57 AM
  • OmairSh Another couple of songs you might enjoy (I especially love the second one, haunting atmosphere). Dark folk/psychedlia. I love their instrumental outros,
    August 24 01:26 AM
  • TVC15 Yeah but I thought it wasn't the best in the first place anyway. 2.5 for me means that I'm more or less neutral about it. Sometimes I'll really like it, sometimes it'll just go into one ear and then go out the other
    August 18 06:30 PM
  • TVC15 Did you look at my soundoff for Forged Prescription
    August 18 06:26 PM
  • Chortles ah yes i still need to download thanks for reminding! no shame in whoring out the really good stuff my man
    August 18 12:12 AM
  • Chortles word dude, so glad you dig it! like any good puzzler, that eureka feeling when you solve one is like crack man. i haven't played in awhile because i got pretty stuck, some of the later puzzles are insane. i don't want to have to look stuff up but i may be too dumb to solve them otherwise lol and i really want to finish the game because it totally absorbed me
    August 16 09:19 PM
  • zakalwe I could kiss you man. I bloody love that Autolux album, its like a more rooted deerhunter. Appalling title though.
    August 16 11:34 AM
  • Cygnatti oh no no, nothing like that pansy ass woe is me modern indie folk type s***. this s*** is bonifide and vintage bro, but i think u already figured that out lol. im drunk
    August 13 02:29 AM
  • Cygnatti psychedelic folk and not psych rock. this s*** is vintage as ****. made by some caribbean shaman or some s***. very rhythmic yet can even get heartfelt at times. it actually kinda means a lot to me somehow lol.
    August 12 05:35 AM
  • Cygnatti Exuma by exuma
    August 12 05:20 AM
  • BADBOY do you really not like music? or is that a joke? seems kind of silly that you would be on sputnikmusic if you dont even like music after all.
    August 10 09:25 PM
  • Chortles dang dude I'm so glad you're interested! no problem, always glad to spread the love. we'll definitely have to chat about it once you get it and play a bit. I'm not sure how much it is usually but I got it on a discount and it was an absolute steal
    August 8 05:37 PM
  • Chortles I got it for a few bucks on psn awhile back but I'd be surprised if it's not on steam. glad to hear it, it's pretty neat and crazy atmospheric for an indie game
    August 8 04:15 PM
  • Chortles yooo have you ever heard of/played The Swapper? all that talk in that bigass games thread has me thinking about it. really really cool 2d puzzle game, not sure if you're into that stuff but you play as an astronaut clone in space so I associate it with something you'd like automatically lol
    August 8 12:12 PM
  • zakalwe lol. Floyd have the albums and are better but I'd rather be in the trench next to sabbath man.
    August 2 01:10 AM
  • Jasdevi087 putting their names under the albums was my method of determining who had voted or not to avoid that problem, but it's irrelevant now
    July 16 02:43 AM
  • Jasdevi087 Yeah I said in the comments a couple of hours ago I'm letting in second choices cause the thread is just dead now lol. I've put in like 5 myself lmao
    July 16 02:36 AM
  • Chortles and yes the supernatural stuff was so perfectly done. just the right amount of mystery and intrigue without going into some cheezy schlog
    July 5 11:34 AM
  • Chortles word word word. I was hoping they would nail the same creepy vibes of the first season but transferred to a grimy urban sprawl locale but it really fell on its face. very boring setting and the direction was nowhere near the beauty of the first season. like there could have never been a scene as incredible as the projects scene in s1 (best single sequence I've ever seen probably) with the setting and direction of s2. such a shame. maybe they learned tho
    July 5 11:31 AM
  • Chortles damn u clever bastard. did you hear matty and nic want to do a third season? Idk how I feel about it tbh
    July 3 01:27 PM
  • Chortles brother it hurt me too. the last few times I have listened to it I haven't felt the same magic I felt when I started listening to it years ago, idk what happened man. I hope we can still be buds

  • Hyperion1001 heres a list of all the components im running, you need to install these and then it's just a matter of getting them arranged right. i remember it took me a few hours to figure out how to get this configuration, but it shouldnt be too bad once you have all those components downloaded. you can get them all on the foobar site:

  • lalchimiste Also: Moon, Turn the Tides... Gently Gently away is an insane jam

    May 3 04:22 PM
  • zakalwe Yep I'll definitely have some of that mainly for the first 1min and 30secs cos it makes me feel like I'm Guybrush Threepwood traipsing around Meelee Island (the secret of monkey island, classic game, the soundtrack is uncannily similar. I lol'd) and the last 1min and 30secs cos it melts face. Cheers dude.
    April 29 06:35 PM
  • lalchimiste also, check out Morbus Chron - Sweven when you'll be in a metal mood
    April 24 12:17 PM
  • Rowan5215 always thought they were a ripoff of Dream Theater
    April 22 11:40 PM
  • lalchimiste Sure, my favorite classics are any of Jimi Hendrix Experience. Since you dig Colour Haze, i'd rec to you the new Elder LP entitled Lore and Samsara Blues Experiment's debut. I haven't listened to it much, but Storm Corrosion's self titled (Opeth and Steven Wilson collab) sounded cool. Also, one of the most underrated band of all time : Psychotic Waltz, the best prog metal band with psych tendencies. I'd start with their first 2 LPs, A Social Grace and Into The Everflow
    April 22 10:31 AM
  • johnnydeking29 Haha you bastard! I am not wasting that comment on how I think Rush are pretty good but no way near the greatest thing ever and are pretty much my definition of a solid but not mind-blowing band
    April 14 02:35 PM
  • rockandmetaljunkie "looks like you had some really good picks even before you stumbled onto this website" Actually, I had. I started digging Rock and Metal music in 2007 and by the time I was a member of this community, I had a pretty good idea about many albums, so I didn't had to rely on the average rating. And it just so happens that I'm not influenced by the public opinion. If I listen to a low-rated album and it feels a 5 to me, I will give it a 5.
    April 10 01:47 PM
  • rockandmetaljunkie I also love your profile pic. One of the best I have seen on Sputnik.
    April 10 08:08 AM
  • rockandmetaljunkie Thanks man, I'm open to any kind of music old and new. But the classics remain classics. m/
    April 10 08:07 AM
  • KILL you is a great starting point, every record from camembert electrique through to you is awesome. well circus is alright but its a soundtrack
    April 10 06:47 AM
  • KILL nothing you havent already heard comes to mind. have you heard gong? could see you digging them a lot, very trippy
    April 9 02:44 PM
  • zakalwe Dude I know EXACATLY what you mean. Sometimes I just have to take a step back, put the kettle on and take stock of it all
    April 9 09:09 AM
  • OmairSh I liked it, but the lack of diversity is the issue. I'll revisit in when in the mood and might appreciate it more then. 4.5 for Holy Diver?! Yeah that's aight :-P
    March 24 06:42 PM
  • Angelboros Thanks, man. The day when I cease my soundoff activity will be the day when boars can finally get ahold of assault rifles kek
    March 15 03:09 AM
  • Cygnatti glad you dig dug that song. :] it really is one of my absolute favorite psych rock songs.
    February 26 07:20 PM
  • Cygnatti top jam presenting:
    February 26 01:44 PM
  • Artuma closer to the latter one but finnish pronunciation is weird so it's not that easy to tell how it should be said
    February 25 03:14 PM
  • someguest The pleasure's all mine.
    February 25 12:26 AM
  • someguest Depends on how much of a masochist you are.
    February 25 12:23 AM
  • someguest "the sexual bliss of a female orgasm bounded to a rock album" how would you know
    February 25 12:10 AM
  • OmairSh You shall be flogged for that late reply. The AUDACITY! If the moon's got enough water for hour long showers then I'm moving.
    February 22 10:56 PM
  • OmairSh Can you see the destruction of our planet from up there?
    February 21 11:32 AM
  • zakalwe It was one of the first albums I jammed when I joined sput dude after it was highly recd. It's decent, I find it a bit by the numbers early 90s rock though.
    February 17 04:46 PM
  • zakalwe Stephen Brodsky is talking out of his rhombarse
    February 17 01:57 PM
  • OmairSh That's great man, I always thought the production was the weakest part of the album. Now if only Daniel hurries up and starts writing the next album.
    February 10 04:34 PM
  • Insurrection Yeah as soon as I finished my first listen i was like "where has this been all my life". sucks it never got the same attention as other grunge albums
    February 10 04:18 PM
  • Insurrection There are so many gooduns on that but my favs would have to be the opener and the last two tracks. I agree its really underrated, i hadnt even heard of the band til a few months ago
    February 10 12:30 PM
  • OmairSh TPE on VINYL??!!! How does it sound?
    February 8 05:05 PM
  • Rowan5215 Yep found it, sent a request. I'm Jack Bowden, by the way. Adding all the coolest users before I leave sput probably for good
    January 10 06:28 PM
  • Rowan5215 That's good to know man. One of my favourite songs in recent memory I reckon. Also you wouldn't happen to have a facebook would ya?
    January 10 12:21 AM
  • demigod! sexy avatar bro, also happy new year!
    January 2 08:10 PM
  • ksoflas Happy 2015 man.
    January 2 11:15 AM
  • fsharptrit0ne Tomorrow I'll be covering the new Steven Wilson track. I have to figure out what to review since now it's a pretty awkward time for albums haha.. not much coming out right now. I might just do a couple more albums from the month of December.
    December 30 07:16 PM
  • fsharptrit0ne Thanks so much for the kind words. Really appreciate it, and please subscribe if you can. I plan to do a video a day so be sure to tune in frequently. Please let anyone else you think would enjoy know :)
    December 30 06:59 PM
  • zakalwe 1st. Ladies and Gentleman then in no particular order Ziggy Stardust, Automatic for the People, Fuzzy, DSOTM, In Utero, Catch a Fire, Nevermind the Bollocks, Wowee Zowee, dubnobasswithmyheadman, blood on the tracks, After the Goldrush, in rainbows, high Violet, happy songs for happy people, leaves turn inside you, ten, mezzanine, zen arcade.....endless dude but 1 = 1 for me. What about you mate?
    December 12 06:41 PM
  • Mongi123 Lol and I was the first rating of course. Fanboying so hard.
    December 10 11:54 AM
  • Mongi123 I think you'll be impressed. Some of the songs are a Rishloo you've never heard before. I love it so much.
    December 10 11:51 AM
  • Mongi123 So you hear it yet man?
    December 10 11:47 AM
  • Rowan5215 Of course his solos are great but guitar solos have never been a defining aspect of music for me. Like, when I listen to Comfortably Numb, I don't think this is one of the greatest songs ever because of the solos, I think that because of Gilmour's vocals in the chorus, the melody, the lyrics etc. even the very best solo, I think, pushes other bandmembers in the background, and I don't like that. On the other hand, a riff like Sheep's contributes much better to the overall song than a solo would
    December 8 08:26 PM
  • Rowan5215 On some days I'd say one and some days the other. Animals has all the members musically at their best, especially Gilmour whose finest moment is probably the ending riff to Sheep, and Dark Side is more emotional and cohesive as a whole. It's really hard to say.
    December 8 08:05 PM
  • OmairSh Yo yo yo check it If you're in a mellow mood I suggest 2 and 3. If you want something upbeat then 1, 4, and 5 might tickle your fancy.
    November 21 11:17 PM
  • Rowan5215 I'm surprised that people don't seem to love the Terror that much. Especially surprised it has around the same average as Embryonic, that s*** ain't right. Honestly, Turning Violent and The Terror are in the top 5 tracks they've ever done, for me. And no I haven't got around to CTM yet but I've heard great things
    November 19 09:06 PM
  • Rowan5215 Am I really? Haha, that wasn't my intention, I just love talking about them with other peeps. But you know, put me and Fripper in a thread together and we can go for hours. Atm the Terror is exactly tied with Soft Bulletin and Yoshimi, picking between those three is like picking a favourite child
    November 19 07:55 PM
  • Mongi123 And like I said man it can even make you shed a tear if you even suddenly think about your own friends during that track. So emotional.
    November 18 05:15 PM
  • Mongi123 You seem to be in te majority with that opinion lol. Wish You Were Here is far superior for me atm though.
    November 18 04:53 PM
  • Mongi123 Well I'm getting huger on it that's for sure haha I'd say lots of the second half is better than the first half. After the cashier register thing in Money it starts to get really good.
    November 18 04:34 PM
  • Rowan5215 That would depend on your definition of real as a tangible fragment of reality or just a mis-perception of the human spectrum of emotion and ability to process cognitive function (tbh imo)
    November 4 06:41 PM
  • Artuma couldn't have described it better. it definitely is a unique piece of art
    November 4 05:56 PM
  • Artuma lol i had no idea i've ever rec'd it to you, but apparently i have so you're welcome! yeah that album has some amazing soundscapes going on
    November 4 05:12 PM
  • OmairSh Yeah it seems like a cluster fcuk on the first few listens, but after "getting" it all it did was grow on me. It's been 1.5 years and I can still listen to it like when I first fell in love with it.
    October 14 06:03 PM
  • OmairSh Dude a 3.5 for Leprous' Bilateral? We are so over. Seriously though it needs a lot more listens to really appreciate. It took me around 5 just to understand what the hell was going on. One of the best prog metal albums of all time for me. Give it another chance.
    October 13 07:02 PM
  • OmairSh Wait...I was sure the jellyfish stung YOU
    October 12 03:28 PM
  • OmairSh If you were underwater
    October 12 01:56 PM
  • OmairSh Well you got most of their essential stuff so its coo. They're releasing an acoustic album next month dude
    October 8 12:35 PM
  • OmairSh What are your top 5 POS albums?
    October 7 08:13 PM
  • OmairSh Daniel and Ragnar have good stage presence and use the stage a little, the new bassist loosened up during the end. The keyboardist is reserved and Leo was looking at the crowd quite a lot. Daniel also did some stand up comedy between songs, as usual, which was cool. They put up a good show. I also saw Leprous a couple days prior to POS, and very few bands have stage presence like they do. You will never see a keyboardist head bang more than the guitarists, ****ing intense
    September 23 05:19 PM
  • OmairSh The crowd went nuts when Rope ends began. I was front and centre mother****ing \m/, the sound was probably more balanced further back but it was my first POS concert so it was worth it.
    September 23 05:07 PM
  • OmairSh Was hoping they'd play something from Be and more from TPE, but anyway the show was great. Daniel looks healthier so thats good. They said they might start working on an album early next year, fingers crossed
    September 23 05:04 PM
  • OmairSh Can't remember all of it, Waking every God, Used, Linoleum, Beyond the pale, Rope Ends, People passing by, Nightmist, Ashes.
    September 23 04:48 PM
  • OmairSh Oye, I saw POS a couple of days back. Great night
    September 23 04:33 PM
  • zakalwe All the time dude, Super Stupid is an all time fave tune.
    September 21 03:40 PM
  • Mongi123 Same my brother loves it, it's like one of his all time favs. I LOVE Wake Up but the rest is just good music. I think my problem with the record is the vox. Kinda iffy imo
    September 16 05:01 PM
  • Mongi123 Ahh so you too seems to not get the hype of Funeral haha. I like it too but at the same time don't really get it.
    September 16 03:50 PM
  • KILL sure dude, spirit - 12 dreams of dr sardonicus, gong - flying teapot, the pretty things - s.f. sorrow, the left banke - walk away renee the millennium - begin, hawkwind - warrior on the edge of time
    September 15 09:14 AM
  • demigod! It rules, man. Need to jam FP more myself but id say Mag is about on par with it right now. Its not quite as experimental or spacey, big grunngier and more metal actually, but still distinctively Failure.
    September 8 11:22 AM
  • avonbarksdale221 "You must understand the whole of life, not just one little part of it. That is why you must read, that is why you must look at the skies, that is why you must sing, and dance, and write poems, and suffer, and understand, for all that is life."
    August 24 01:27 AM
  • avonbarksdale221 Woah, hell of an insight man. We are the universe experiencing itself. Our lives are rendered obsolete in the face of oblivion; contextualised by the telescopic nature of the evolutionary paradigm, adaptive creatures spar with forces of time. Human consciousness and the level of self awareness we have achieved is truly a miracle. Accordingly, our lives are inherently meaningless other than the meaning with which we assign them.
    August 24 01:26 AM
  • avonbarksdale221 For real man. Love talking about this stuff. Can't wait until I can get some tracks recorded dude, really think you'd dig a lot of what I say in my rhymes.
    August 23 01:17 AM
  • avonbarksdale221 That's a really good way of looking at it dude. Human beings have an almost inherent tendency to incessantly overanalyse every aspect of their life, assigning misplaced significance to scenarios and situations they themselves create. Your mind can be a labyrinth of loneliness that seems impossible to navigate, meaning that the only logical action is to acknowledge and dismiss negative thoughts and emotions and let yourself be unaffected by that which is beyond your control.
    August 23 01:16 AM
  • avonbarksdale221 Thanks man, can't ****ing wait. It's good to have a driving force in my life for once. That's a trap you don't want to fall into, you'll never move forward if you're content to stay trapped in a past that has no future. Yeah man, I've built a new group of friends as well, its nice being exposed to fresh perspectives, aligning ideals and challenging ideas rather than having the same stale conversations every week.
    August 22 09:11 PM
  • avonbarksdale221 Sup man! Don't apologise bruh, sometimes life gets in the way. Damn dude, what's been happening? That's the way life works I guess, it's a balancing act. I've been pretty great actually dude, had one of the best rolls of my life 6 weeks ago which put every negative feeling I had into perspective. Deferred uni last week, got a job and am gonna spend the second half of next year backpacking either South America or Europe. Life's good.
    August 22 06:19 PM
  • OmairSh Been jamming RS2 after a long time, much better than RS1, has some gorgeous bits. I'll ask Daniel when they'll be releasing a new album? XD. Dude, review the DVD
    August 19 01:14 AM
  • OmairSh Enough of you and your digesting, after all this it better not be lower than a 4 or I'll hunt you ......Space, yeah! King Of Loss' chorus is weak compared to the rest of the song, and there are a few other moments that could have been better. But obviously it's an amazing record. Surprised that sputnik has such a few POS fans
    August 19 12:24 AM

    July 5 11:05 AM
  • Mongi123 Man, just bumped down Eidolon from a 5. Just doesn't have that omph that it used to it's sad day :/ still an awesome album but man never thought that would happen!
    July 3 11:52 PM
  • benkim Yeah me too to an extent. He was funny as hell but what makes me hold him up in such high regard is his philosophies, not all of them though. He was a really intelligent guy.
    June 30 07:22 PM
  • avonbarksdale221 dude if you're not opposed to mixing sput/real life do you want to add me on fb? would be easier to communicate and there is things I'd rather no post on a public forum about this whole situation. plus I feel like we are on a similar wavelength anyway so. if you do, add jacob douglas from aus, loveless cover photo. if not, all good dude I'm more than happy to talk here
    June 27 01:55 AM
  • benkim hehe was really a great man and after listening and watching his material I can really tell how much he influenced the band even beyond Aenima. Died way too soon!
    June 25 11:23 AM
  • avonbarksdale221 Ever have? Its been a tough week for me, but I'll get through it man. Seriously though dude, thank you so so much. No word of a lie, after she boke my heart I messaged her the definition of love you gave in you Ladies and Gentleman... review, thats how much your words resonated with me. Speaking of, end up working things out with your girl? And thanks again bro this is just what I needed :D
    June 25 02:06 AM
  • avonbarksdale221 Bro you have no idea how much this means to me right now. Like seriously dude, this is exactly what I needed. Sad is easy; who amongst us hasn't lamented the loss of love into a wallowing pit of depleted self worth and overwhelming emptiness. Its how I react to this heartbreak that is going to define who I am. Life is too beautiful to waste feeling sad. And really, this girl isn't even near the image of perfection I projected upon her; if she was, would she have left me feeling emptier than I...
    June 25 02:05 AM
  • GuanoBumbershoot haha no worries dude. Just couldn't figure out why all of my posts were dissapearing. Got a good knee slap out of it when I figured it out. Cool list idea by the by. Take 'er ease.
    June 22 01:29 PM
  • Syne dude where an willimantic are you? anywhere near the eastern campus?
    June 17 10:49 PM
    June 15 08:05 PM
  • Chortles word man, where are you studying at?
    June 8 10:21 PM
  • Rowan5215 I know right? So much better than the album version. I enjoyed the female vocals there and all but its the emotional highpoint of the album and really deserved to be sung by him. If you didn't know, its a concept album about his wife's depression which is where all the dark vibes and such come from, and that final song is just (as the title suggests) like light breaking through the clouds, absolutely stunning
    June 8 09:35 PM
  • Rowan5215 Yep that's him for sure, compare it with his vocals on "Wearing the Inside Out" and you'll see. It is a shame, he could still hold the notes but barely do any more than that. Anyway here's something fantastic for you
    June 8 08:57 PM
  • Rowan5215 Yeah man it was quite a while after, which is why unfortunately his vocals aren't at their best on there. If it had had the quality of vocals he was delivering the early 70s, ****, I would 5 it easy. But for sure, and it hurts me a lot how much he tends to get overlooked by your casual Floyd fan
    June 8 08:51 PM
  • Rowan5215 **** yeah dude, you're welcome. It definitely doesn't touch the best Floyd records musically but imo it has the greatest atmosphere of any album relating to them, its just so dark and twisted, I love it
    June 8 08:41 PM
  • Chortles my shoutbox posts keep ****ing up lol (i think it's the ampersands in my school name). anyway ya i'm at Texas A M and i love it, can't believe i'm already halfway through
    June 8 05:26 PM
  • Chortles ya herd right brotha. I'll be on my third year this fall. My degree is in the engineering college but it's more of an engineering and business hybrid. And you?
    June 7 11:54 PM
  • dannyboy89 I getcha dude, don't worry. You're cool in my book.
    June 2 01:23 AM
  • dannyboy89 Understandable man. It's one of the few albums I really love from that era in rock n' roll.
    June 2 01:07 AM
  • dannyboy89 Did you like Mindcrime dude?
    June 2 12:49 AM
  • Mongi123 Fair enough. Post rock can drag for some people yea. But violent/bright is te best "eventful" post rock I've ever especially suicide by star.
    May 21 07:23 PM
  • Mongi123 Just a 3.5 for Violent/Bright man? Not a bad score but damn that album is just perfect to me.
    May 21 06:08 PM
  • scissorlocked hahaha! a bit of exaggeration is never bad I suppose. But honestly, what an album! shaped my whole adolescence
    May 20 11:27 AM
  • Lambda Awesome man, glad to hear it! Soundoffs are so underused on here. And yeah, the first Half-Life! Half-Life 2 was amazing as well, but the first one is still my favourite.
    May 14 09:34 PM
  • StallionMang No problem man, start with this album first: If you like that album check out Geogaddi and all their pre-Geogaddi EPs, and if you need links to those just let me know
    May 14 05:10 PM
  • Lambda Hey, thanks man! Glad to know people are reading my soundoffs. You seem awesome too! And yup, Half-Life is my favourite game of all-time!
    May 14 03:54 PM
  • Mongi123 LOL wow ok man. I've been one here high on occasion so I get ya :)
    May 14 08:03 AM
  • ksoflas I loooooooove Tool man! Killer band.I'll check Rishloo and I'll tell you my opinion.
    May 5 03:51 PM
  • ksoflas Do you have any progressive metal bands similar to PoS to suggest?
    May 5 02:59 PM
  • Mongi123 Yo I think Id that comment by accident haha who was that?
    May 5 11:59 AM
  • ksoflas
    May 5 11:04 AM
  • ksoflas I can't recall the setlist but you can take a taste:
    May 5 11:02 AM
  • ksoflas Sorry, two times on stage and they were kicking serious ass!
    May 5 04:36 AM
  • ksoflas I don't know where you are from but here in Greece PoS are fairly polular and i have seen them to times on stage.
    May 5 04:36 AM
  • ksoflas and of course amazing vocals by "genious" Daniel. They are awesome, i hope Daniel's health will improve ang give us another classic PoS album(not like the last two).
    May 5 04:10 AM
  • ksoflas I can understand how you feel my friend but more important is the fact that We know what monster band PoS is. They are by far the best progressive metal band around beside the classic like DT Fates Warning etc. Songwriting, musicianship, atmosphere, emotions, lyricism,
    May 5 04:07 AM
  • Mongi123 I don't hate then at all don't get me wrong, I respect the hell out of them for paving the way for pretty much everything. But I just won't go out of my way to listen to them. They're just a band that if someone puts them on I'll enjoy but my myself I don't really want to ya know?
    May 3 03:00 PM
  • Mongi123 I remember one time on a brand new thread specifically how the beatles came up. I said I've tried them and they really didn't do much for me either. Everyone ripped me apart and one person said "there's no reason anyone over the age of 15 shouldn't like the beatles." Come on they're like 50 years old not everyone is going to love them lol
    May 3 01:56 PM
  • Mongi123 As for dark side, the music just doesn't do anything for me.
    May 3 01:43 PM
  • Mongi123 I'm gonna rant for a sec lol lots of people on this site think that just because an album is influential or how it pioneered a genre means that it should automatically should get a 5 and its a crime if you don't. Just because it accomplished this, I'll respect it but that doesn't mean that everyone will enjoy it and it doesn't also mean its the best of the genre. Not talking about you cause you're an awesome guy but some people on this site just are mean to you cause of that and it pisses me off
    May 3 01:40 PM
  • Mongi123 Nah man all good, just having a rational argument that's all. Believe me I've tried time and time again and it just won't click.
    May 3 09:20 AM
  • dannyboy89 I getcha dude, I've gotten more cautious in my criticisms over time myself.
    May 1 02:24 AM
  • dannyboy89 I wouldn't say I bash that many artists, but when I do, I'd say the main reason is because I think the artist in question gets too much hype. Hence why I bash Dream Theater now and again. I just think the band in general is overrated, bar John Myung.
    May 1 01:53 AM
  • Mongi123 Thanks man. But it def took a while I assure you. You'll get it done eventually.
    April 29 11:01 PM
  • Mongi123 Boy you better haha nah but I hear ya. It took me a while to put my tool review into words definitely.
    April 29 07:13 AM
  • Mongi123 But dude I still wanna see this review of yours ;)
    April 28 06:44 PM
  • dannyboy89 I'm more of a Priest guy myself, but both bands are worth looking into. I got a hunch that you may end up liking Maiden more. With Priest, I suggest you try Stained Class first, it's one of their most definitive and influential albums by far. With Maiden, just go ahead and check any of their first 7, although TNotB is prob the easiest to get into.
    April 28 04:18 AM
  • dannyboy89 Do you like Priest and/or Maiden?
    April 28 03:58 AM
  • dannyboy89 You're more familiar with metal than I thought. I saw some of the stuff you got rated, and you're into dm so metal definitely isn't strange to you at all.
    April 28 03:23 AM
  • Mongi123 Ahhhh ok I feel ya. The originality doesn't bother me at all, it has way too many merits to let that aspect bring it down for me.
    April 28 12:06 AM
  • Mongi123 No more 5 for Eidolon man? :/
    April 27 07:50 PM
  • Mongi123 Haha I get ya, they're not for everyone. Both really hit me hard, especially skinny fists.
    April 26 06:05 AM
  • avonbarksdale221 Exactly man, an hour after we dropped we walked from the house to the beach I just noticed that everything seemed to be... breathing I guess. By the time we got there it was like being in another world. I've been going to this beach every summer for t entire life, yet it was like I was seeing it all for the first time. Cliche as it sounds, I really feel like I see everything a little differently.
    April 26 03:19 AM
  • avonbarksdale221 So tripping on LSD last week was basically the best experience I've ever had man. We walked through a forest to a beach in almost complete isolation, it was like being at the end of the earth. The sensory stimulation was so much that I could barely handle it. I actually started crying everything was so beautiful. As I spose you know no words can do it justice, but I thought you might be interested, looking forward to continuing to explore my perception. What was your first trip like?
    April 25 08:34 PM
  • Mongi123 Those 3's for Skinny Fists and Deloused. How, how do you live with yourself?
    April 25 06:37 PM
  • fallenbird Thanks, I got it from an icolorblind post on tumblr, it's around a year old so it would be pretty hard to find it.
