 | StrangerofSorts Yeh, I've been doing a bit of reading the responses to the album (as part of collecting the entire Secede discog like the fanboy I am) and I've never seen reviews so divided. It seems to be the kind of album that strikes different chords in different spots. I mean, I read one review saying the last track is rubbish, and another which couldn't shut up about the how good the same song was for about 2 paragraphs.

 | geasoftime I actually haven't heard Out of a Center (I had actually started it this morning, before seeing your rating coincidentally. The post-metal list provoked me to do so.) I have just heard that it isn't as good as the following two albums. Ritual, though, is fantastic. It's one of my favorite post-metal releases.

| sixdegrees right on. it's hard to pick one album that has that much importance for me I'd have to credit Bath by maudlin of the Well with getting me into more diverse music and breaking out of the typical metal/post-hardcore/alternative. Interesting how we got into music at around the same time.

| Aids riffoclock and baseline ARE the same person. I know it's hard to understand, and a little upsetting to realize that, yes, one person ACTUALLY puts that much effort into having a split personality online (seperate sputnik/rym/lastfm accounts, which, yes, means he scrobbles separately depending on what personality he's listening as). Believe me, everyone gets fooled for a while, but it has been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. Hard to understand because it's so pathetic but.....yeah...

| geasoftime Lets put it this way: I wouldn't recommend it. It wasn't bad per se, but it was very forgettable. My problem with the album is that he used too many house and trance elements. If you're into to those genres, then you may really dig it.
