  • Keyblade Damn that's a tough one, I'd say they're about equal for me
    August 22 01:03 AM
  • thelastsignal Bummmer dude lol. It is kind of dense and it took me a few listens to really get into it.
    August 21 09:33 PM
  • thelastsignal Haha hell yeah man! Those are some strong comparisons!
    August 21 03:40 PM
  • Judio! Will do, man! Been needing more metal in my life lately anyway.
    August 21 03:30 PM
  • thelastsignal Sweet dude, sounds good. Songs are very long (only six of them, around 50 minutes in length), but it's one of those albums that qualify as an "experience" type of active listening.
    August 21 03:20 PM
  • thelastsignal Nice man! Excited for you, some people dig and others don't because it's not kvlt lol. I think you'll like it!
    August 21 03:02 PM
  • manosg No worries man, I've been through worst stuff, haha. And yeah there's so much turmoil in the world right now. Oh since we're in the subject, what's going on in Missouri? I saw a youtube video today with the police shooting a black man right in the middle of the street. Very disturbing stuff.
    August 21 02:29 PM
  • manosg The s*** that I mentioned before comes mainly from the economic situation in Greece that is taking its toll on us on a personal level as well. We pay ridiculously high taxes and on the same time people don't have money to pay for their obligations. It's a ****ed up situation actually and I'm not optimistic as to when things will get better here.
    August 21 02:02 PM
  • manosg Oh yeah, I remember you telling me in the past that you wanted to move in a new house. Glad for you man! Yeah, the countryside is great and mostly for people like us who have lived in the city for so many years. You learn to appreciate the little things in life.
    August 21 01:58 PM
  • thelastsignal Thanks dude. It might not hit the same way, but I love the style they have anyway so I'm sure I will really dig it.
    August 21 12:40 PM
  • thelastsignal Hell yeah, I was going to save it for my 50th, but I tried to write a soundoff in the meantime and it wouldn't let me because it was too long. I just said screw it and wrote a full review for it now.
    August 21 12:18 PM
  • thelastsignal Hey dude, reviewed Oh, Common Life. Check it when you get a chance.
    August 21 10:07 AM
  • manosg Hey man, I'm trying to cope with a fair amount of s*** lately but I try to manage, haha. Apart from that, life is mostly good when you live in the countryside. How about you man?
    August 21 03:36 AM
  • thelastsignal Yeah, Becoming is soo good lol. In the Absence of Light is strong as well, but let me know what you think of Becoming if you check it.
    August 20 12:57 PM
  • thelastsignal I will definitely check then. Have you ever listened to Abigail Williams?
    August 20 12:12 PM
  • thelastsignal Got distracted with the new Panopticon last night, but have you heard that? It's pretty ****ing awesome.
    August 20 11:39 AM
  • ExplosiveOranges Don't sweat it. I'm actually probably gonna post another review tomorrow, and after I hit twenty, I might lay low for a little while.
    August 19 07:14 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Thanks, man. It's good to know I have your support.
    August 19 06:40 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Yeah, well, being here for 6 years probably takes a toll on you. Sure, Sowing and Dev can shake it off, but if you've just been a user here for 5 years, maybe you would become a little bitter after a while.
    August 19 06:11 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges witchxrapist. A longtime user of this website whose name is both lol-worthy and immature. He basically disagreed with one sentence in my review and (likely) decided to neg.
    August 19 05:49 PM
  • thelastsignal A song here or there, but nothing that I remember; it'll be like the first time haha.
    August 19 05:23 PM
  • thelastsignal Sounds good man. Yeah I am definitely on a pop punk binge lately. Tonight is the night for The Wonder Years though haha.
    August 19 05:12 PM
  • thelastsignal Will check the other Fireworks and Man Overboard albums! So much new music for me recently lol
    August 19 12:51 PM
  • thelastsignal Okay, so Oh, Common Life is really growing on me lol.
    August 19 10:18 AM
  • thelastsignal Dude, yes! It's so freaking solid all the way through. I love the drums on it, and Son of a Gun is a definite highlight.
    August 18 07:46 PM
  • thelastsignal I've only heard Oh, Common Life so I will have to get on that. Have you heard Search the City?
    August 18 07:08 PM
  • thelastsignal Yeah, the vocals are what I'm iffy on right now. Love the lyrics and instrumentals.
    August 18 06:34 PM
  • thelastsignal I love State Champs, and Neck Deep are pretty fun as well. I'm still undecided on Fireworks lol.
    August 18 06:07 PM
  • thelastsignal You remember correctly, man. I will definitely check it tonight, love NFG. I have also been listening to State Champs, Neck Deep, and Fireworks today. It's been a pop-punk past few days for me haha.
    August 18 03:30 PM
  • Hawks Good deal broski. m/
    August 15 05:27 PM
  • evilford that's the best m//////////
    August 15 04:53 PM
  • evilford awesome man, yeah that is really one of my faves. the riffs just slice and the guy's vox are sinister as f***
    August 15 04:31 PM
  • Judio! lol strangely enough I actually dig The Residents quite a bit now. And yeah man the new Panopticon album kicks serious ass. Although I didn't dig the album at first it's grown a lot on me and it's probably one of my favorite albums of the year now. Still kind of teetering between a 4 and a 4.5 though.
    August 15 01:09 PM
  • Judio! I did it Atari, I listened to Eskimo by The Residents. All I can is that, if I'm unable to sleep tonight, I know which reviewer to blame ;)
    August 15 01:42 AM
  • Hawks **** just saw you had Adramelech rated.... Oh well lol.
    August 14 11:50 PM
  • Hawks Happened to see yours and Ford's convo about Finnish dm on his page. You def gotta check Adramelech and Demilich if you haven't and also Hooded Menace and Stench of Decay for some more modern, but still filthy newer Finnish dm.
    August 14 11:47 PM
  • evilford yeah sweet, I bet you'd dig funebre then too. little more raw but still similar finnish style
    August 14 02:24 PM
  • evilford yeah I gotcha. I'm excited for you dude, it's such a rich genre, I hope you enjoy it!
    August 14 01:41 PM
  • evilford awesome!!!! m/ shadow's list is great too but that's a lot of less obvious stuff that isn't as "essential" per se as a lot of stuff on my list...imo at least. it's great stuff too but that'd be like jumping a few steps ahead of yourself
    August 14 12:29 PM
  • evilford hey dude, made a few adjustments to the dm list fyi, if you were gonna check some of those out there's a few new ones on there. in my rush of creating the list I forgot a few :P
    August 14 11:54 AM
  • evilford thanks man. would be nice but w/e I've come to terms with the fact that they're never gonna feature any of my lists lol. can't blame them a whole lot, dm is not popular (even on sput, relatively speaking) and my lists are usually one-dimensional, but we'll see
    August 13 04:36 PM
  • evilford haha. thanks dude m/
    August 13 04:23 PM
  • evilford I suck at descriptions, plus that's kind of been done a lot. I'm on a dm perma-binge so eventually I'll have heard most of it. think at some point I'm gonna make a list of the top 100 dm albums with less than 50 ratings
    August 12 02:52 PM
  • thelastsignal Thanks man, I appreciate that. It will definitely be personal, that's for sure. We shall see how it turns out.
    August 12 02:36 PM
  • evilford ah yeah, sweet album. when you get a chance, check out that album by electrocution. it's pretty thrashy, honestly one of my fav dm albums.
    August 12 01:58 PM
  • evilford :D have you heard electrocution - inside the unreal?
    August 12 01:39 PM
  • thelastsignal Yeah, it was really rough. He was my inspiration and sounding-board on all things life-related. I got my love of music from him though, and it's the best gift anyone has ever given me. I will probably write my 50th review in his honor, even though it's a goofy thing to do.
    August 12 01:26 PM
  • thelastsignal I really want to see it, didn't know about it before. My father passed away from lymphoma (which is very similar in terms of symptoms and what you go through), and listening to some of McMahon's songs with my dad at that point is something that I cherish.
    August 12 01:01 PM
  • thelastsignal I haven't seen the movie, how is it?
    August 12 12:11 PM
  • thelastsignal They are a slightly more progressive (using that term very loosely lol) August Burns Red. I think you will dig it.
    August 12 12:11 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Robin Williams is dead T_T
    August 11 10:58 PM
  • thelastsignal Sweet, brother! I appreciate it!
    August 11 10:56 PM
  • thelastsignal I checked out the one that came out this year. It was very good, epic-sounding with plenty of atmosphere. I heard a bit of similarity, but I really liked it on its own anyway. You heard of Forevermore?
    August 11 10:56 PM
  • Judio! Sure man, no rush
    August 11 10:51 PM
  • Judio! Yo Aaron, just wrote a review for the new Saor album if you want to check out. I know you enjoyed that album so I thought you might be interested in reading it.
    August 11 07:55 PM
  • thelastsignal Hey dude, listening to Insomnium; it is awesome so far.
    August 11 12:10 AM
  • ExplosiveOranges I can easily see why :)
    August 10 05:15 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges I bought Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band today.
    August 9 07:21 PM
  • Mister Twister dude you need to check out Tantara
    August 9 04:50 AM
  • thelastsignal Dude no worries on that, thanks for checking it out! I appreciate the praise!
    August 8 12:24 PM
  • thelastsignal Posted that Wovenwar review if you want to check it man!
    August 8 12:05 AM
  • ExplosiveOranges I have actually never written a negative review before.
    August 7 05:46 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges *double-o. ****ing autocorrect.
    August 7 04:56 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges I plan to review one of my favorite albums for the big double-I, and one of my least favorite albums for review number 101.
    August 7 04:55 PM
  • evilford yeah man it's awesome m/
    August 7 04:45 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Are you ready for a cheesy-ass monologue? Thought so. When I first came here, I was just some guy who really liked heavy metal music and loved writing. So, I put them together, and posted my first review on April 21st of this year. Three months later, I've contributed 14 more reviews to the site, formed bonds with countless users, and expanded beyond into almost every other genre of music. And it's because of guys like you. So, thank you, Atari.
    August 7 04:23 PM
  • evilford hey dude, any infernal majesty albums worth checking out beyond their first one?
    August 7 04:11 PM
  • thelastsignal Yeah dude! Second best song on there after Pay Phones and Pills. One of best and most epic instrumental songs ever.
    August 7 03:06 PM
  • evilford right on just razzin ya hehe
    August 7 01:26 PM
  • evilford sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet. I'm tellin ya, sooner or later incantation will NOT let you down ;]
    August 7 12:25 PM
  • evilford awesome dude lol. yeah it was an album that hit me right away but the full genius of it took years to grasp, the beauty is in the simplicity, it just effortlessly personifies death metal without getting complicated or fancy and then riffs harder than steel the whole way thru
    August 7 11:57 AM
  • thelastsignal I will definitely be writing it soon, maybe tonight. I just think that their formula wears a little thin through 15 tracks; if they had cut it down to the best 10-12 songs it would have been better for me.
    August 7 11:50 AM
  • thelastsignal Yeah man, I will probably end up reviewing it. It would be a 4 for me if it wasn't so damn long lol.
    August 7 11:36 AM
  • thelastsignal Listening to Wovenwar, and it is pretty good stuff so far. I'm digging it. Shane's vocals are top notch on it.
    August 6 09:52 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Lol, I figure Dev is the main authority on dubstep, but he's busy getting s*** done, so I will have to rely on the Sputnik charts for now. Let's see...... Skrillex is on the list. DAMMIT.
    August 6 09:16 PM
  • Judio! Yeah man the album kicked ass. My friend's been trying to get me into the wonder years for so long now, I'd probably make her day if I listened to them haha
    August 6 09:15 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges I jammed early Ulver, but never really got into their stuff. I mean, I do have a couple electronic jams (Ben Frost, Todd Terje), but I hunger for dubstep.
    August 6 07:54 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Honestly, I've been looking for good electronic stuff recently, but I don't know if that's your thing, lol.
    August 6 07:14 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Really good stuff. Any other big digs so far?
    August 6 05:53 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges That's a toughie, but so far I really like Grapefruit, Our Apartment, Divorce and the American South, and a few others.
    August 6 04:28 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges New Aaron West and The Roaring Twenties is sooooo good.
    August 6 02:47 PM
  • thelastsignal Not yet, but I will probably look for a download of it tonight after work because I am really anxious to hear it. I will let you know for sure, and probably review it depending on what I can come up with.
    August 6 01:45 PM
  • thelastsignal Definitely need more melodeath, so if you have other recs I would love them! I will check out Insomnium, excited to hear them.
    August 5 03:27 PM
  • thelastsignal I like Undoing Ruin quite a bit, I just haven't spent as much time with it as I have the other releases. I feel like the melodeath influence is pretty big on all releases up until the new one, but it's much more prevalent on Hidden Hands; which is the sound I love (other bands did the metalcore/melodeath combo really well like older With Dead Hands Rising, The Red Death's first album). I keep forgetting to check Insomnium, will do that soon if it's similar for sure.
    August 5 01:43 PM
  • thelastsignal They're both amazing haha, Deliver Us slightly edges it out with a little more variety. The Eternal Return also has some amazing songs on it as well.
    August 5 01:22 PM
  • thelastsignal Dude, yes. It's my 2nd favorite DH (behind Deliver Us), and in my top ten favorite albums.
    August 5 12:38 PM
  • thelastsignal Hell yeah man, I really dig ambient, one my favorite genres to explore in.
    August 5 12:24 PM
  • thelastsignal Actually, only clean vocals metalcore sounds pretty interesting lol. I will definitely check soon.
    August 3 08:08 PM
  • thelastsignal Also, just wanted to say that I love many bands that only have clean vocals haha. I've been on a metal kick lately, but wovenwar sounds interesting.
    August 3 06:32 PM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot Hey Atari, I reviewed Bellows - Blue Breath and I've been reccing it to people here and there, def check it out. Kinda lo-fi folk/pop kinda project. Great stuff though
    August 2 07:03 PM
  • thelastsignal Yeah man, not a whole album though. I've seen them live as well, and they were great. What's their best album?
    August 1 05:30 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Eh, true. It sucks that you can't use the radio player on mobile. You can sync it with Spotify and iTunes, though.
    July 31 08:29 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Lol, I understand. Just out of curiosity, why don't you have a last.fm?
    July 31 08:17 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Those Overkill 3s are breaking my heart, man.
    July 31 08:02 PM
  • Judio! I'll definitely jam them man, Pop punk is a genre I'm barely familiar with so I'm totally not opposed to trying it now. Appreciate the recs as always my friend.
    July 31 07:46 PM
  • Judio! I see you're taking advantage of my recent lust for recs ;). I'll check those albums out soon.
    July 31 07:08 PM
  • Judio! Sounds good, I'll definitely check them. Been trying really hard lately to get into more stuff so I'm down for trying pretty much anything. Any idea which album by them I should start with?
    July 31 06:55 PM
  • Judio! Even though it never snows where I live, I'll still jam them. Are they wintery like Agalloch or completely different?
    July 31 06:43 PM
  • Judio! Ok, I might wait a bit to listen to the rest of Darkspace's stuff then. And no I haven't listened to paysage d'hiver yet
    July 31 06:34 PM
  • Judio! Are all the Darkspace albums pretty much the same thing? If not I'd be down for giving another one of their albums a jam.
    July 31 06:26 PM
  • Judio! Yeah me too. I only listened to their first album so far but I couldn't really get into it, I found it kind of dull to be honest :\. Sorry dude.
    July 31 06:13 PM
  • evilford nice those look sweet thanks man I'll check em out soon m/
    July 31 05:22 PM
  • evilford sweet m/
    July 31 05:04 PM
  • evilford awesome dude hope you enjoy
    July 31 04:01 PM
  • evilford lol check it out dude. it's pretty accessible OSDM. it's simple enough to be accessible but so damn well done, it's one of my faves. that might get the ball rolling on some different stuff for you, check it out when you get a chance :]
    July 31 03:27 PM
  • evilford haha. have you heard Convulse - World Without God?
    July 31 03:16 PM
  • evilford nice. onward to golgotha grown on you at all yet? :D
    July 31 02:54 PM
  • evilford word yeah I'm still gonna dm hard but I've been craving more thrash lately. anyways, hello :P
    July 31 02:29 PM
  • evilford nm dude just going on a mad dm rampage as always lol. how bout you?
    July 31 02:20 PM
  • thelastsignal Yeah, that is such a bummer. What album did you get for the game?
    July 31 12:00 PM
  • thelastsignal Haha I know man! I've just been having fun with it, so it is making me want to do it more.
    July 31 11:44 AM
  • ExplosiveOranges Great! Thanks in advance!
    July 30 11:57 AM
  • ExplosiveOranges Hey dude, I put up a review the other night for Overkill's new album, and it's my first review to be featured on the front page. If you get a chance, I'd love for you to check it out and tell me what you think!
    July 30 11:25 AM
  • Frippertronics probably, if you notice his accent in interviews, then listen to live performances. i don't think much about it since it makes the anonymous band idea pointless.
    July 29 03:27 PM
  • Judio! Thanks! I'm definitely looking forward to it.
    July 28 01:55 PM
  • Judio! Gonna be studying law at my college's business school.
    July 27 10:18 PM
  • Judio! Awesome, glad to hear you had a nice time. And yeah I know what you mean, going back to work after vacation sucks so much. I'm gonna be starting college in a few weeks so soon I'm gonna be in the same boat.
    July 26 10:08 PM
  • Judio! How's the Oregon coast treating you dude?
    July 26 01:20 AM
  • thelastsignal Hey man, wrote another review. I'd love for you to check it, kept it short and informative (hopefully!).
    July 25 11:12 PM
  • Mongi123 It's cool to see how it affects others though. I'm a little late to the Serpent party but I'll prob do a write up for it soon haha.
    July 25 04:52 PM
  • Mongi123 I honestly don't know, I've listened to serpent a little more than marrow but both of them dragged quite a bit. PF, TW, TM and Ashes are just too superior.
    July 25 02:24 PM
  • thelastsignal Sounds like a place I'd love to visit, dude. Thanks, man. It would definitely be cool to work my way up the ladder here with you contribs haha
    July 24 11:42 PM
  • Mongi123 Yea man Anberlin is a very nostalgic band for me. Godspeed was my jam in high school haha. Yea I definitely didn't hate it. But they've said in an interview that they were barely ever all in the same room to record. They kinda just sent each other material and s*** like that cause of their jobs and long distances. It shows on this one imo
    July 24 06:35 PM
  • Mongi123 Agreed man I ****ing love it. Atonement and Harbinger are amazing. And yes, Serpent was very lacking. Had some sweet moments but it dragged and the overall mix wasn't as good as their previous stuff.
    July 24 06:14 PM
  • Mongi123 Hey dude, so what are your thoughts on the new Anberlin? I see you liking it a lot.
    July 24 06:03 PM
  • evilford oh dang :[ ....but yeah dismember's great and pestilence rules arhd
    July 24 05:52 PM
  • thelastsignal Cool man, sounds awesome. I've never been to Oregon, but it just sounds like a place that has some perfect places for reflection and solitude. Thanks man, trying to review more here because I'd love to make contrib next year.
    July 24 05:51 PM
  • thelastsignal Not much, man. Interview went well, was brief since I am an internal candidate for the job. I should find out late next week, definitely excited for it. Things are okay overall, just working on writing more, and spending time with the girlfriend and kids. We ended up working things out, so there is a ton of good things in my life right now. Just a little exhausted by everything to be honest. How about you? Things good?
    July 24 05:05 PM
  • thelastsignal hey what's up dude?
    July 24 03:17 PM
  • evilford awesome :D ...also have you heard close to a world below?
    July 24 11:43 AM
  • evilford yeah dude I've loved it for years but the last 5 or 6 months it's grown even more .. I didn't know that was even possible. probably best dm album ever made honestly
    July 23 08:44 PM
  • evilford ah thanks yeah I love that album, I've gotta discog them soon. I've heard good things about the others you mentioned. have you heard incantation - onward to golgotha?
    July 23 08:34 PM
  • evilford sup dude? getting into dm any more?? lol
    July 23 08:20 PM
  • mryrtmrnfoxxxy HEY YOU. POP PUNK FAN. JAM THIS http://tenement.bandcamp.com/album/napalm-dream
    July 23 06:46 PM
  • Frippertronics s*** that's hard. check cromagnon's orgasm, some say it's the residents, but nobody knows
    July 23 04:30 PM
  • Frippertronics btw if you're in 'murica http://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?memberid=972683
    July 23 04:09 PM
  • Frippertronics aight man, enjoy
    July 23 03:56 PM
  • Frippertronics well there's nothing much to particularly mention once you know the basics of their history
    July 23 03:50 PM
  • Frippertronics tbh, i suggest you listen to a few of their albums before getting to Eskimo. like check the first four LPs, and the Santa Dog (the original 1972) EP
    July 23 03:49 PM
  • Frippertronics well here's more info: http://www.residents.com/historical4/info/http://pitchfork.com/features/underscore/8785-the-residents/
    July 23 03:42 PM
  • Frippertronics Well the band formed in 1969, and are from Louisiana, but moved to 'frisco the same year. Once they settled down, they immediately began recording. They sent a demo tape to Warner Bros, only for it to be returned to them as "Residents". the page would officially released in 2003 as a remix. but the original is available. recordings from 1969-1971 also included Baby Sex...cont.
    July 23 03:39 PM
  • laughingman22 thank you
    July 22 02:38 PM
  • laughingman22 finished my irrwisch review http://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/63377/Irrwisch-Irrwisch/
    July 20 02:35 PM
  • TheSpirit I know you're big into atmospheric bm now, so check out pantheon I - worlds i create
    July 17 04:42 PM
  • laughingman22 yeah I got an ocean feeling from the unique production the album has and the cover art
    July 16 04:34 PM
  • laughingman22 I enjoyed them quite a bit, haven't had any time away from work to sit down and write a review. Reminded me of a mix Drudkh and maybe paysage d'hiver. It seemed like the songs got better and better the more I listened to it
    July 16 03:03 PM
  • BlackLlama Cheers on the rec for Love, Robot. Though their lp's were hard to track down, well worth it though!
    July 12 11:35 PM
  • JamieTwort You're welcome dude, hope you dig it.
    July 11 06:01 PM
  • JamieTwort Try Neun Welten - Vergessene Pfade (if you haven't heard it already). Should be exactly the kind of thing you're looking for and it's one of my favourites in that style.
    July 11 05:39 PM
  • Judio! That's what I thought. I was a neofolk binge last night with my friend and we were jamming a lot of Nest and Agalloch. Woodsmoke was good but wasn't as memorable as Unwary, which had a really cool sound, especially with the guitars. The split with Aga was really nice too, but too damn short.
    July 11 12:48 PM
  • Judio! I did it check it, it was good. I actually think I'm gonna bump my rating for Unwary, it was a really beautiful album.
    July 11 12:37 PM
  • YoYoMancuso took you up on your offer http://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/63220/Aaron-West-and-The-Roaring-Twenties-We-Dont-Have-Each-Other/
    July 11 12:21 PM
  • YoYoMancuso LambsBread troll-neg'd me a lot back in the day idc about approval though
    July 11 12:07 PM
  • YoYoMancuso if i ever review again i've got some plans though :]
    July 11 11:56 AM
  • YoYoMancuso There are a lot, plus your review's kind of perfect anyway
    July 11 11:55 AM
  • Ecnalzen It was fun. The set list was great; they played several songs I really wanted to hear. Kinda forgot what it's like to go to shows. My knees were killing me after standing on that concrete for 3 straight hours, ha ha. I'm gettin' old, man.
    July 10 07:18 PM
  • Judio! I have reviews I've been meaning to get to, but perhaps I'l take a swing at one of Nest's albums. However I will check them for sure.
    July 10 06:02 PM
  • Judio! lol I totally forgot about that split, been meaning to check it for months now. Thanks for the reminder, and I will absolutely get around to Nest's LPs soon.
    July 10 05:25 PM
  • Judio! Nope, never heard of them
    July 10 05:00 PM
  • JamieTwort Ah right, yeah it's all the same recordings from 1973 just remixed and remastered. It sounds better than the original I think, his remix has given it more dynamic range and brought out things that can go unnoticed on the original. He's also restored a section that was cut out of the album originally so there's a couple of previously unheard verses in there. The best thing about it is his remix of the Chateau tapes (an unfinished/unreleased Tull album that was recorded before A Passion Play).
    July 10 04:49 PM
  • JamieTwort He's only remixed/remastered it (along with the Chateau recording), it's still all Tull.
    July 10 04:39 PM
  • JamieTwort Dude you realise I'm talking about a Wilson remix of the Jethro Tull album right? This is it: http://jethrotull.com/jethro-tulls-a-passion-play-remixed-by-steven-wilson/
    July 10 04:37 PM
  • JamieTwort No I'll definitely let you (and everyone else) know what I think. Btw have you heard the Steven Wilson remix release of A Passion Play? It's awesome and pretty much essential for any fan of that album. It's worth getting for Wilson's remix of the Chateau D'isaster Tapes alone, especially if you haven't heard them already from the Night Cap comp.
    July 10 04:10 PM
  • JamieTwort Not yet bro but I will do soon. Will probably check it out this weekend.
    July 10 03:42 PM
  • Judio! Thank you my friend! :D
    July 10 02:31 PM
  • Judio! Man, this project just keeps getting and better for you hahaha
    July 10 01:29 PM
  • Judio! Awesome man, and feel free to give me feedback about the review! Musk Ox themselves actually contacted me via facebook and asked if I would consider reviewing their Night Watch project haha so I tried to put an extra amount of work into to.
    July 10 01:20 PM
  • Judio! Defintelty has similarities to musk ox but is a lot more experimental and actually has a lot of progressive metal and bm influences in it. It rules hard.
    July 10 12:43 PM
  • Cygnatti Despite still being in a constant state of vague depression, last few months been kinda nice but recently more eh. Made quite a few new and worthwhile friends, I'm actually going to parties and s***. Weird feeling. Also got my first job but I'm so close to quitting, just need to find another job to replace it first. And I got a car, but my older brother took it since his broke down. So yeah ups and downs but certainly more interesting than my life has ever been before. :]
    July 10 12:29 PM
  • Judio! Also, once you get a sec, I wrote a review for the album if you wouldn't mind giving me some feedback :]
    July 10 04:30 AM
  • Judio! Atari, drop what you're doing and listen to this s***. Omg. http://thenightwatch.bandcamp.com.
    July 9 10:09 PM
  • laughingman22 yeah it looks like a cool album can't wait to listen to it tonight, Is there any history or information on the band I should know before I start?
    July 8 04:53 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Only a total newbie like me could screw up the rules for the game, haha
    July 8 12:42 PM
  • Judio! That's totally fine, the rules of the game can be confusing at first. I remember I didn't understand the rules when I entered last year lol, I submitted an album with like fifteen reviews already before you corrected me.
    July 8 12:08 PM
  • Judio! Yep I know! Last year it didn't fill it up nearly as quickly so I'm surprised that we're only a day in and I've almost reached the max.
    July 8 11:59 AM
  • Judio! Thank you! California is one of my favorite albums so it was really a fun review to right. And i'm glad to hear you're gonna check Mr. Bungle. My suggestion is to listen to them chronologically, starting with their s/t. All three albums are absolute classics, but their evolution and growth is amazing.
    July 8 01:26 AM
  • Judio! Ah alright, thanks for the warning. I already think we're having a pretty good turnout this year so far.
    July 8 12:56 AM
  • Judio! Thanks for the heads-up man. Not sure which ones I shouldn't trust so let me know which other ones I should leave off the game.
    July 8 12:23 AM
  • Judio! No worries, just thought I'd remind you lol. And also Mr. Bungle is essential jamming.
    July 7 03:50 PM
  • Judio! Ok cool, I'll be sure to check that out. Also, by the way, did you ever get around to checking Mr. Bungle's California or my review for it? You wanted me to remind you the other day :)
    July 7 03:40 PM
  • Judio! Let the games begin! hhttp://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?mode=1
    July 7 02:51 PM
  • Judio! Alright sure, you and Rowbro have both rec'd me that album so I guess I have no choice but to check it now lol.
    July 7 02:33 PM
  • Calc nah man you suggested I listen and i'm gonna listen, its common courtesy!!
    July 7 01:10 PM
  • Calc not yet, i'm actually gonna be home a lot of today so I'll be able to do it today
    July 7 12:21 PM
  • Judio! Your welcome, you totally did Cap justice. And that's ****ing sweet m/ I'll start the game in a couple days. You better be the first to enter the game my friend! ;)
    July 7 01:16 AM
  • CaptainDooRight Hey Aaron. I wanted to personally thank you for taking the time to make it all happen. You did a great job and I'm truly appreciative of the care you gave to make it the quality of that which it is. I wouldn't change a thing! And thanks for requesting a feature, your review definitely deserves it.
    July 6 11:29 PM
  • Judio! Excellent job on your Trvth review, man! :) Also, on another note, I couldn't help noticing that we're a week past when the Review A Random Album Game occurred last year. If you still don't feel like doing it, I would be more than happy to host the game this year if you want to pass the honor to me. I was thinking about it and we have so many new users in the past few months who've been popping up and writing kickass reviews that I think the game would really be strong this year.
    July 6 10:57 PM
  • CaptainDooRight Yeah bro talk it out and plan well. That's always the best thing. Kids are a huge responsibility but when carefully planned, then it's very enjoyable. Yes Canvass is both. The symphonic interlude before the solo is classical but as a whole it's progressive in nature. And no worries my friend, let your heart flow.
    July 6 12:19 PM
  • CaptainDooRight Out of respect for him I won't disclose but I'll tell you about him. Great energy, good kid, genuinely cares for his parents, is strong willed, gets frustrated easily, loves playing in dirt, the simplest things are gold to him, and he's taught me a lot about love.
    July 6 01:53 AM
  • Mongi123 Like man, pale companion and odal are goddamn stunning.
    July 5 10:38 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Thanks for checking out my review, mate! I'm eager to see what you do with the Trvth review, since Judio just finished his Musk Ox writeup.
    July 5 05:54 PM
  • CaptainDooRight * it before, not 'effort' lol
    July 5 05:46 PM
  • CaptainDooRight Cool man well sorry if I said effort already, but congrats! I wish you and your wife the best! Sure I'll make sure to let you know.
    July 5 05:45 PM
  • Judio! Oh man, that place looks beautiful. Have fun down in Oregon my friend :)
    July 5 05:33 PM
  • Judio! Awesome! You going to the east or west coast?
    July 5 04:06 PM
  • Judio! No worries I have nothing against weed, just not my cup of tea. By the way, I recommend jamming Death Has No Dominion's s/t when you're down by the beach. Really chill minimalist ambient folk that I reviewed a little while back. It's one of those albums that seems best while spacing off in front of the ocean.
    July 5 03:48 PM
  • Judio! Lucky man, I would kill to go to the ocean right now. Although drugs aren't my thing I always feel so peaceful when I'm around the ocean I grew up near as a child but in ol' LA.
    July 5 03:15 PM
  • Judio! No problem dude. Can't wait to get my CD of this in my mail! I actually bought the limited edition $20 CD that comes autographed by all the band members, gonna be sweet.
    July 5 03:10 PM
  • Judio! Thank you so much man! I don't know if you noticed but I gave you a shoutout in my first comment on the review for really getting me interested in these guys.
    July 5 02:45 PM
  • Evreaia yeah Vali is also purely instrumental, shorter but WAY more diverse songs though. Also less tense, but more "journey-like" if you understand what I mean.
