  • thelastsignal Yeah man, not a whole album though. I've seen them live as well, and they were great. What's their best album?
    August 1 05:30 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Eh, true. It sucks that you can't use the radio player on mobile. You can sync it with Spotify and iTunes, though.
    July 31 08:29 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Lol, I understand. Just out of curiosity, why don't you have a last.fm?
    July 31 08:17 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Those Overkill 3s are breaking my heart, man.
    July 31 08:02 PM
  • Judio! I'll definitely jam them man, Pop punk is a genre I'm barely familiar with so I'm totally not opposed to trying it now. Appreciate the recs as always my friend.
    July 31 07:46 PM
  • Judio! I see you're taking advantage of my recent lust for recs ;). I'll check those albums out soon.
    July 31 07:08 PM
  • Judio! Sounds good, I'll definitely check them. Been trying really hard lately to get into more stuff so I'm down for trying pretty much anything. Any idea which album by them I should start with?
    July 31 06:55 PM
  • Judio! Even though it never snows where I live, I'll still jam them. Are they wintery like Agalloch or completely different?
    July 31 06:43 PM
  • Judio! Ok, I might wait a bit to listen to the rest of Darkspace's stuff then. And no I haven't listened to paysage d'hiver yet
    July 31 06:34 PM
  • Judio! Are all the Darkspace albums pretty much the same thing? If not I'd be down for giving another one of their albums a jam.
    July 31 06:26 PM
  • Judio! Yeah me too. I only listened to their first album so far but I couldn't really get into it, I found it kind of dull to be honest :\. Sorry dude.
    July 31 06:13 PM
  • evilford nice those look sweet thanks man I'll check em out soon m/
    July 31 05:22 PM
  • evilford sweet m/
    July 31 05:04 PM
  • evilford awesome dude hope you enjoy
    July 31 04:01 PM
  • evilford lol check it out dude. it's pretty accessible OSDM. it's simple enough to be accessible but so damn well done, it's one of my faves. that might get the ball rolling on some different stuff for you, check it out when you get a chance :]
    July 31 03:27 PM
  • evilford haha. have you heard Convulse - World Without God?
    July 31 03:16 PM
  • evilford nice. onward to golgotha grown on you at all yet? :D
    July 31 02:54 PM
  • evilford word yeah I'm still gonna dm hard but I've been craving more thrash lately. anyways, hello :P
    July 31 02:29 PM
  • evilford nm dude just going on a mad dm rampage as always lol. how bout you?
    July 31 02:20 PM
  • thelastsignal Yeah, that is such a bummer. What album did you get for the game?
    July 31 12:00 PM
  • thelastsignal Haha I know man! I've just been having fun with it, so it is making me want to do it more.
    July 31 11:44 AM
  • ExplosiveOranges Great! Thanks in advance!
    July 30 11:57 AM
  • ExplosiveOranges Hey dude, I put up a review the other night for Overkill's new album, and it's my first review to be featured on the front page. If you get a chance, I'd love for you to check it out and tell me what you think!
    July 30 11:25 AM
  • Frippertronics probably, if you notice his accent in interviews, then listen to live performances. i don't think much about it since it makes the anonymous band idea pointless.
    July 29 03:27 PM
  • Judio! Thanks! I'm definitely looking forward to it.
    July 28 01:55 PM
  • Judio! Gonna be studying law at my college's business school.
    July 27 10:18 PM
  • Judio! Awesome, glad to hear you had a nice time. And yeah I know what you mean, going back to work after vacation sucks so much. I'm gonna be starting college in a few weeks so soon I'm gonna be in the same boat.
    July 26 10:08 PM
  • Judio! How's the Oregon coast treating you dude?
    July 26 01:20 AM
  • thelastsignal Hey man, wrote another review. I'd love for you to check it, kept it short and informative (hopefully!).
    July 25 11:12 PM
  • Mongi123 It's cool to see how it affects others though. I'm a little late to the Serpent party but I'll prob do a write up for it soon haha.
    July 25 04:52 PM
  • Mongi123 I honestly don't know, I've listened to serpent a little more than marrow but both of them dragged quite a bit. PF, TW, TM and Ashes are just too superior.
    July 25 02:24 PM
  • thelastsignal Sounds like a place I'd love to visit, dude. Thanks, man. It would definitely be cool to work my way up the ladder here with you contribs haha
    July 24 11:42 PM
  • Mongi123 Yea man Anberlin is a very nostalgic band for me. Godspeed was my jam in high school haha. Yea I definitely didn't hate it. But they've said in an interview that they were barely ever all in the same room to record. They kinda just sent each other material and s*** like that cause of their jobs and long distances. It shows on this one imo
    July 24 06:35 PM
  • Mongi123 Agreed man I ****ing love it. Atonement and Harbinger are amazing. And yes, Serpent was very lacking. Had some sweet moments but it dragged and the overall mix wasn't as good as their previous stuff.
    July 24 06:14 PM
  • Mongi123 Hey dude, so what are your thoughts on the new Anberlin? I see you liking it a lot.
    July 24 06:03 PM
  • evilford oh dang :[ ....but yeah dismember's great and pestilence rules arhd
    July 24 05:52 PM
  • thelastsignal Cool man, sounds awesome. I've never been to Oregon, but it just sounds like a place that has some perfect places for reflection and solitude. Thanks man, trying to review more here because I'd love to make contrib next year.
    July 24 05:51 PM
  • thelastsignal Not much, man. Interview went well, was brief since I am an internal candidate for the job. I should find out late next week, definitely excited for it. Things are okay overall, just working on writing more, and spending time with the girlfriend and kids. We ended up working things out, so there is a ton of good things in my life right now. Just a little exhausted by everything to be honest. How about you? Things good?
    July 24 05:05 PM
  • thelastsignal hey what's up dude?
    July 24 03:17 PM
  • evilford awesome :D ...also have you heard close to a world below?
    July 24 11:43 AM
  • evilford yeah dude I've loved it for years but the last 5 or 6 months it's grown even more .. I didn't know that was even possible. probably best dm album ever made honestly
    July 23 08:44 PM
  • evilford ah thanks yeah I love that album, I've gotta discog them soon. I've heard good things about the others you mentioned. have you heard incantation - onward to golgotha?
    July 23 08:34 PM
  • evilford sup dude? getting into dm any more?? lol
    July 23 08:20 PM
  • mryrtmrnfoxxxy HEY YOU. POP PUNK FAN. JAM THIS http://tenement.bandcamp.com/album/napalm-dream
    July 23 06:46 PM
  • Frippertronics s*** that's hard. check cromagnon's orgasm, some say it's the residents, but nobody knows
    July 23 04:30 PM
  • Frippertronics btw if you're in 'murica http://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?memberid=972683
    July 23 04:09 PM
  • Frippertronics aight man, enjoy
    July 23 03:56 PM
  • Frippertronics well there's nothing much to particularly mention once you know the basics of their history
    July 23 03:50 PM
  • Frippertronics tbh, i suggest you listen to a few of their albums before getting to Eskimo. like check the first four LPs, and the Santa Dog (the original 1972) EP
    July 23 03:49 PM
  • Frippertronics well here's more info: http://www.residents.com/historical4/info/http://pitchfork.com/features/underscore/8785-the-residents/
    July 23 03:42 PM
  • Frippertronics Well the band formed in 1969, and are from Louisiana, but moved to 'frisco the same year. Once they settled down, they immediately began recording. They sent a demo tape to Warner Bros, only for it to be returned to them as "Residents". the page would officially released in 2003 as a remix. but the original is available. recordings from 1969-1971 also included Baby Sex...cont.
    July 23 03:39 PM
  • laughingman22 thank you
    July 22 02:38 PM
  • laughingman22 finished my irrwisch review http://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/63377/Irrwisch-Irrwisch/
    July 20 02:35 PM
  • TheSpirit I know you're big into atmospheric bm now, so check out pantheon I - worlds i create
    July 17 04:42 PM
  • laughingman22 yeah I got an ocean feeling from the unique production the album has and the cover art
    July 16 04:34 PM
  • laughingman22 I enjoyed them quite a bit, haven't had any time away from work to sit down and write a review. Reminded me of a mix Drudkh and maybe paysage d'hiver. It seemed like the songs got better and better the more I listened to it
    July 16 03:03 PM
  • BlackLlama Cheers on the rec for Love, Robot. Though their lp's were hard to track down, well worth it though!
    July 12 11:35 PM
  • JamieTwort You're welcome dude, hope you dig it.
    July 11 06:01 PM
  • JamieTwort Try Neun Welten - Vergessene Pfade (if you haven't heard it already). Should be exactly the kind of thing you're looking for and it's one of my favourites in that style.
    July 11 05:39 PM
  • Judio! That's what I thought. I was a neofolk binge last night with my friend and we were jamming a lot of Nest and Agalloch. Woodsmoke was good but wasn't as memorable as Unwary, which had a really cool sound, especially with the guitars. The split with Aga was really nice too, but too damn short.
    July 11 12:48 PM
  • Judio! I did it check it, it was good. I actually think I'm gonna bump my rating for Unwary, it was a really beautiful album.
    July 11 12:37 PM
  • YoYoMancuso took you up on your offer http://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/63220/Aaron-West-and-The-Roaring-Twenties-We-Dont-Have-Each-Other/
    July 11 12:21 PM
  • YoYoMancuso LambsBread troll-neg'd me a lot back in the day idc about approval though
    July 11 12:07 PM
  • YoYoMancuso if i ever review again i've got some plans though :]
    July 11 11:56 AM
  • YoYoMancuso There are a lot, plus your review's kind of perfect anyway
    July 11 11:55 AM
  • Ecnalzen It was fun. The set list was great; they played several songs I really wanted to hear. Kinda forgot what it's like to go to shows. My knees were killing me after standing on that concrete for 3 straight hours, ha ha. I'm gettin' old, man.
    July 10 07:18 PM
  • Judio! I have reviews I've been meaning to get to, but perhaps I'l take a swing at one of Nest's albums. However I will check them for sure.
    July 10 06:02 PM
  • Judio! lol I totally forgot about that split, been meaning to check it for months now. Thanks for the reminder, and I will absolutely get around to Nest's LPs soon.
    July 10 05:25 PM
  • Judio! Nope, never heard of them
    July 10 05:00 PM
  • JamieTwort Ah right, yeah it's all the same recordings from 1973 just remixed and remastered. It sounds better than the original I think, his remix has given it more dynamic range and brought out things that can go unnoticed on the original. He's also restored a section that was cut out of the album originally so there's a couple of previously unheard verses in there. The best thing about it is his remix of the Chateau tapes (an unfinished/unreleased Tull album that was recorded before A Passion Play).
    July 10 04:49 PM
  • JamieTwort He's only remixed/remastered it (along with the Chateau recording), it's still all Tull.
    July 10 04:39 PM
  • JamieTwort Dude you realise I'm talking about a Wilson remix of the Jethro Tull album right? This is it: http://jethrotull.com/jethro-tulls-a-passion-play-remixed-by-steven-wilson/
    July 10 04:37 PM
  • JamieTwort No I'll definitely let you (and everyone else) know what I think. Btw have you heard the Steven Wilson remix release of A Passion Play? It's awesome and pretty much essential for any fan of that album. It's worth getting for Wilson's remix of the Chateau D'isaster Tapes alone, especially if you haven't heard them already from the Night Cap comp.
    July 10 04:10 PM
  • JamieTwort Not yet bro but I will do soon. Will probably check it out this weekend.
    July 10 03:42 PM
  • Judio! Thank you my friend! :D
    July 10 02:31 PM
  • Judio! Man, this project just keeps getting and better for you hahaha
    July 10 01:29 PM
  • Judio! Awesome man, and feel free to give me feedback about the review! Musk Ox themselves actually contacted me via facebook and asked if I would consider reviewing their Night Watch project haha so I tried to put an extra amount of work into to.
    July 10 01:20 PM
  • Judio! Defintelty has similarities to musk ox but is a lot more experimental and actually has a lot of progressive metal and bm influences in it. It rules hard.
    July 10 12:43 PM
  • Cygnatti Despite still being in a constant state of vague depression, last few months been kinda nice but recently more eh. Made quite a few new and worthwhile friends, I'm actually going to parties and s***. Weird feeling. Also got my first job but I'm so close to quitting, just need to find another job to replace it first. And I got a car, but my older brother took it since his broke down. So yeah ups and downs but certainly more interesting than my life has ever been before. :]
    July 10 12:29 PM
  • Judio! Also, once you get a sec, I wrote a review for the album if you wouldn't mind giving me some feedback :]
    July 10 04:30 AM
  • Judio! Atari, drop what you're doing and listen to this s***. Omg. http://thenightwatch.bandcamp.com.
    July 9 10:09 PM
  • laughingman22 yeah it looks like a cool album can't wait to listen to it tonight, Is there any history or information on the band I should know before I start?
    July 8 04:53 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Only a total newbie like me could screw up the rules for the game, haha
    July 8 12:42 PM
  • Judio! That's totally fine, the rules of the game can be confusing at first. I remember I didn't understand the rules when I entered last year lol, I submitted an album with like fifteen reviews already before you corrected me.
    July 8 12:08 PM
  • Judio! Yep I know! Last year it didn't fill it up nearly as quickly so I'm surprised that we're only a day in and I've almost reached the max.
    July 8 11:59 AM
  • Judio! Thank you! California is one of my favorite albums so it was really a fun review to right. And i'm glad to hear you're gonna check Mr. Bungle. My suggestion is to listen to them chronologically, starting with their s/t. All three albums are absolute classics, but their evolution and growth is amazing.
    July 8 01:26 AM
  • Judio! Ah alright, thanks for the warning. I already think we're having a pretty good turnout this year so far.
    July 8 12:56 AM
  • Judio! Thanks for the heads-up man. Not sure which ones I shouldn't trust so let me know which other ones I should leave off the game.
    July 8 12:23 AM
  • Judio! No worries, just thought I'd remind you lol. And also Mr. Bungle is essential jamming.
    July 7 03:50 PM
  • Judio! Ok cool, I'll be sure to check that out. Also, by the way, did you ever get around to checking Mr. Bungle's California or my review for it? You wanted me to remind you the other day :)
    July 7 03:40 PM
  • Judio! Let the games begin! hhttp://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?mode=1
    July 7 02:51 PM
  • Judio! Alright sure, you and Rowbro have both rec'd me that album so I guess I have no choice but to check it now lol.
    July 7 02:33 PM
  • Calc nah man you suggested I listen and i'm gonna listen, its common courtesy!!
    July 7 01:10 PM
  • Calc not yet, i'm actually gonna be home a lot of today so I'll be able to do it today
    July 7 12:21 PM
  • Judio! Your welcome, you totally did Cap justice. And that's ****ing sweet m/ I'll start the game in a couple days. You better be the first to enter the game my friend! ;)
    July 7 01:16 AM
  • CaptainDooRight Hey Aaron. I wanted to personally thank you for taking the time to make it all happen. You did a great job and I'm truly appreciative of the care you gave to make it the quality of that which it is. I wouldn't change a thing! And thanks for requesting a feature, your review definitely deserves it.
    July 6 11:29 PM
  • Judio! Excellent job on your Trvth review, man! :) Also, on another note, I couldn't help noticing that we're a week past when the Review A Random Album Game occurred last year. If you still don't feel like doing it, I would be more than happy to host the game this year if you want to pass the honor to me. I was thinking about it and we have so many new users in the past few months who've been popping up and writing kickass reviews that I think the game would really be strong this year.
    July 6 10:57 PM
  • CaptainDooRight Yeah bro talk it out and plan well. That's always the best thing. Kids are a huge responsibility but when carefully planned, then it's very enjoyable. Yes Canvass is both. The symphonic interlude before the solo is classical but as a whole it's progressive in nature. And no worries my friend, let your heart flow.
    July 6 12:19 PM
  • CaptainDooRight Out of respect for him I won't disclose but I'll tell you about him. Great energy, good kid, genuinely cares for his parents, is strong willed, gets frustrated easily, loves playing in dirt, the simplest things are gold to him, and he's taught me a lot about love.
    July 6 01:53 AM
  • Mongi123 Like man, pale companion and odal are goddamn stunning.
    July 5 10:38 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Thanks for checking out my review, mate! I'm eager to see what you do with the Trvth review, since Judio just finished his Musk Ox writeup.
    July 5 05:54 PM
  • CaptainDooRight * it before, not 'effort' lol
    July 5 05:46 PM
  • CaptainDooRight Cool man well sorry if I said effort already, but congrats! I wish you and your wife the best! Sure I'll make sure to let you know.
    July 5 05:45 PM
  • Judio! Oh man, that place looks beautiful. Have fun down in Oregon my friend :)
    July 5 05:33 PM
  • Judio! Awesome! You going to the east or west coast?
    July 5 04:06 PM
  • Judio! No worries I have nothing against weed, just not my cup of tea. By the way, I recommend jamming Death Has No Dominion's s/t when you're down by the beach. Really chill minimalist ambient folk that I reviewed a little while back. It's one of those albums that seems best while spacing off in front of the ocean.
    July 5 03:48 PM
  • Judio! Lucky man, I would kill to go to the ocean right now. Although drugs aren't my thing I always feel so peaceful when I'm around the ocean I grew up near as a child but in ol' LA.
    July 5 03:15 PM
  • Judio! No problem dude. Can't wait to get my CD of this in my mail! I actually bought the limited edition $20 CD that comes autographed by all the band members, gonna be sweet.
    July 5 03:10 PM
  • Judio! Thank you so much man! I don't know if you noticed but I gave you a shoutout in my first comment on the review for really getting me interested in these guys.
    July 5 02:45 PM
  • Evreaia yeah Vali is also purely instrumental, shorter but WAY more diverse songs though. Also less tense, but more "journey-like" if you understand what I mean.
    July 5 02:21 PM
  • Judio! lol I know, thanks bro.
    July 5 02:14 PM
  • Mongi123 Decided to 5 The Mantle **** it, just such an imaginative, euphoric album that encompasses everything I want from music. Like every emotion is felt on that record too.
    July 5 02:12 PM
  • Judio! **** I couldv'e sworn I did :\ but maybe not. Believe it or not I was so tired by the time I finished the review that I passed out right on my laptop so that's probably why I forgot.
    July 5 02:11 PM
  • manosg Oh definitely dude. When I saw both you and Cap recommending this album I knew I had to check it asap. I can see myself enjoying even more in the future. Happy 4th to you too man.
    July 5 03:29 AM
  • CaptainDooRight Nice man. Hope your date is going well! I didn't know you're married. I am too, going on 6 years. One kid too. You? How long you been married? Any kids? If you don't mind me asking.
    July 4 09:58 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Thanks! Ironically, this was the second time where one of Judio's albums had two reviews in one day.
    July 4 09:16 PM
  • Judio! Thanks buddy, I hope my Musk Ox review makes you proud :)
    July 4 07:22 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Ah. Sweet! You gonna review the new Trvth album instead?
    July 4 05:21 PM
  • CaptainDooRight ..albums as well. Let me know if that helps. I can explain further if need be. Just let me know if you need any specific details or understandings of why this or that.
    July 4 04:39 PM
  • CaptainDooRight Those witness birth from a different perspective. Canvass is an expression of a painter drawing on his board symbolically and expressing the wonders of his will. The moment came touches on the actual climax and events occurring during those moments. The closer and title tracks recalls the opening track and is more like a summarization of all the previous tracks. I'm wanting to post the lyrics ups but not sure when I'll have time to post everything. But I'll want to do that with all the future...
    July 4 04:38 PM
  • CaptainDooRight again Approaching is the preface to the story, the beginning; of change. The story, although being explained through different perspectives does have a backbone of one perspective that it continues to fall back on, a first person narrative, if you will. The first track denotes a bubbling joy which time craves change due to its present state. Bridge is the transition from one world to another. Chemical resurrection explains life and it's elements from a different viewpoint and those witness...
    July 4 04:32 PM
  • CaptainDooRight And ongoing story which aims to tell of details during the climax and the aftermath. In fact, even my Complete Freedom project is involved in this story and CP's music will provide details which will expound and explain the story I'm telling through trvth. Both projects will hit deeper perspectives and will capture moments of the story. Jac's doing the art for the next CP album which takes place after the aftermath but both projects will coincide as time goes on and the story unfolds. So...
    July 4 04:25 PM
  • CaptainDooRight Sure my man: the title suggest an approaching event, a climax, an inevitable turn of events, for instance one of the lyrics says 'the cup at its tipping point' this suggests the climax or boiling point. Since the album is referencing a world it's referring to an inevitable build up of events that spurs a new beginning due to the demise of its past. And the album is actually the beginning of a full story that I'm telling that will continue in future albums. This is the preface to a more delving..
    July 4 04:21 PM
  • Judio! I've ever considered myself a better writer but thanks for the compliment bro! Sounds good, you can be sure I won't let you forget ;)
    July 4 04:19 PM
  • Judio! And btw I'm really looking forward to your Trvth review, that album rules and definitely needs more exposure.
    July 4 04:08 PM
  • Judio! No worries dude, I appreciate you asking, that means. And for future reference stuff that never annoys me, unless it's a s***ty/troll review (ie: that first user review for Agalloch's new album). But i mean especially based on your Agalloch reviews I have no doubt you'll do a kickass job.
    July 4 04:05 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Interesting. I'll be sure to check it out. You plan on reviewing it?
    July 4 04:02 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Is the new Musk Ox album really AOTY material?
    July 4 03:53 PM
  • Judio! **** no it wouldn't bother me at all, in fact i would love to read your thoughts on the album! Are you cool if I try to get my review featured though?
    July 4 03:51 PM
  • Judio! Thanks man, I'm hoping to finish the review soon but I don't want to rush it so I may give it another day just to get my thoughts in order. I honestly live reviewing folk, there is always so much to say and I can get away with comparing the music to emotions, which I do a little too much haha.
    July 4 03:47 PM
  • Mongi123 I did quite enjoy part 4. The songs are a tad overlong but most of it is quite beautiful soothing music.
    July 4 03:15 PM
  • Mongi123 This is quite beautiful gonna have to say.
    July 4 01:27 PM
  • Evreaia Vali is, easily, the best neo-folk artist out there! both of him albums are classics to me. Also thanks for the compliment my friend! :)
    July 4 05:35 AM
  • Judio! It totally is. I actually started writing a review for it already haha, will probably have it finished tomorrow or the next couple days. Woodfall deserves a hell of a lot more exposure.
    July 4 03:13 AM
  • Judio! Goddamn, Musk Ox's new album might just be the aoty. Was not expecting it to blow my mind as much as it did.
    July 4 02:54 AM
  • Rowan5215 yo you expressed interest in my review for Soupy's new album so voila enjoy http://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/63098/Aaron-West-and-The-Roaring-Twenties-We-Dont-Have-Each-Other/
    July 4 02:15 AM
  • thelastsignal Wrote my review for Judio's new album lol. Check it out if you get a chance!
    July 4 02:07 AM
  • Ecnalzen Brand New. They have been a favorite of mine for years, but this will be my first time actually seeing them in concert.
    July 3 07:25 PM
  • Mongi123 Awesome, definitely gotta give it a shot then.
    July 3 05:16 PM
  • Mongi123 It's by Agalloch off of The Mantle. Track 3 come on man! haha
    July 3 05:03 PM
  • Mongi123 Haha I saw his list and it intrigued me. Would you say some of the stuff sounds like Odal? To compare it to something?
    July 3 04:59 PM
  • Mongi123 Seems like there's lots of generic sput hype so I might as well try it haha thanks! I should start to cover more new stuff anyway. Gonna put my Deftones stuff on hold for a while.
    July 3 04:49 PM
  • Mongi123 Sounds like I'll love it actually! I'll give it a try when I get a chance. Re visiting some older favorites I haven't jammed in a while for now :)
    July 3 04:40 PM
  • Mongi123 Sup man, I saw the hype for that. What's it like?
    July 3 04:24 PM
  • Ecnalzen lol, I didn't take it in a bad way. I just didn't realize you were such a fan of the gorons, ha ha. And probably not. I haven't bought fireworks in years; it always felt like a pretty big waste of money to me. I am going to a concert on the 5th, so that should be fun, tho. You?
    July 3 03:26 PM
  • CaptainDooRight virtual bowl passed
    July 3 01:46 PM
  • CaptainDooRight Blazing hard right now then gonna listen. Seriously crapping my pants right now
    July 3 12:23 PM
  • CaptainDooRight 'they actually did all the acoustic interludes on the new agalloch' whoa are you serious? I had no idea they worked on the agalloch as well. Yeah man I gotta hear the new musk ox, LIKE NOW!!
    July 3 12:10 PM
  • Evreaia Its phenomenal indeed, I've heard it every day since release, and its still growing on me. Kind of like Vali last year it hit me hard and isn't about to let go. Glad someone else likes it. :)
    July 3 06:25 AM
  • Ecnalzen Is that sarcasm or do you just really like the Gorons?
    July 2 08:29 PM
  • YoYoMancuso Nah Soupy's one of my fav artists so I pre-ordered it out of respect, I won't get it for a few more days. I've heard the singles
    July 2 03:57 PM
  • JamieTwort Hey dude, sweet I'll check it out. Certainly looks like something I might dig looking at the band page on here. Thanks.
    July 2 03:30 PM
  • CaptainDooRight sounds good
    July 2 03:12 PM
  • CaptainDooRight yes sir its about a fictional world who's immanent destruction is at hand, the album walks the listener through its destruction and the aftermath of a few survivors and realizations of a long lost past life, let me know if i can explain more
    July 2 01:32 PM
  • Ecnalzen I think so. Porbably will hae some new stuff, too. I know they mentioned gorons in that article.
    July 2 12:07 AM
  • Ecnalzen They are fun, slightly mindless hack and slash games. You get put in open Terrain and just go crazy with tons of enemies. Plus, it will have co op!
    July 1 10:20 PM
  • Calc I'll give them a shot
    July 1 09:17 PM
  • Calc Also, I'm one psych interview away from becoming a gahdamn liquor control officer whoo!!!! I can't wait to get paid with state tax monies!!
    July 1 07:43 PM
  • Calc I have not, are they kind of like fintroll only more post- metally?
    July 1 07:43 PM
  • Ecnalzen It's a Zelda game, but it will play like a Dynasty Warriors game (which is where I'm guessing they got the name Hyrule Warriors). You get to play as Link or Zelda (and possibly others, not sure if they've announced anyone else yet). There are a couple of videos on this page and their impressions of when they played it at E3: http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/06/10/hyrule-warriors-zelda-and-link-fight-side-by-side
    July 1 05:23 PM
  • SharkTooth thanks man, should get to it soon
    July 1 03:26 PM
  • CaptainDooRight Cool man I'm glad you enjoy them all :)
    July 1 03:06 PM
  • CaptainDooRight My favorites tracks are between the opener Effervescent and Chemical Resurrection but if I had to choose one it'd have to be Effervescent mainly because of the emotional impact it has on me as well as the dynamics. I really like the way the solo came out in Canvass and how it transitioned out of a clean/classical section.
    July 1 02:15 PM
  • CaptainDooRight I'm glad you like. Thanks Aaron.
    July 1 01:45 PM
  • CaptainDooRight Well no one has dibs on it so its completely up in the air. You know I would be appreciative of you if you did or didn't.
    July 1 01:32 PM
  • CaptainDooRight Thanks for that feedback Aaron. I'll tell you about the artwork: it's actually a tree located outside my place of work which I've always enjoyed looking at so I took a picture of it at a certain angle, added some filters and turned the picture sideways so it looks like a hand reaching down from the sky. Do you see the hand?
    July 1 01:11 PM
  • Ecnalzen Have you been watching stuff on Hyrule Warriors? It looks pretty fantastic.
    June 30 11:45 PM
  • SharkTooth Hey man, I completed an initial draft of a review in the proofreading thread, I'd appreciate it if you just go through the thing and suggest what I might need to add to it. It's okay if you aren't able to
    June 29 06:03 PM
  • Ecnalzen Ha ha, that's awesome. I wouldn't feel too bad about it. Out of all the people that know my first name compared to my username, you are only the second person to tell me that.
    June 28 08:29 AM
  • Judio! Yeah that's true haha. Besides no approval rating, i think I have yet to discover what all the contributor privileges are, if there are any.
    June 27 10:18 PM
  • Arcade Thanks man:)
    June 27 08:52 PM
  • thelastsignal I've been listening to it non-stop lately lol. It's so memorable. The male vocalist reminds me of Bayside's vocalist.
    June 27 07:18 PM
  • Judio! Not gonna lie, it feels pretty awesome. I feel like I'm more free to say whatever I want in my reviews now because people can't neg me anymore haha.
    June 27 04:37 PM
  • thelastsignal Nah, man I know what you mean. I think you and I like pop punk for the same reasons though, so your opinion on it carries weight to me.
    June 27 03:28 PM
  • thelastsignal Damn man, I need to find the new one then. Drifter has some freakin tight musicianship, that's one of my favorite things about it.
    June 27 03:02 PM
  • manosg will certainly do man ;)
    June 27 03:02 PM
  • thelastsignal Awesome man. I read Calc's review of Heart to Heart, and it sounds right up my alley. I will probably check at some point in time this weekend.
    June 27 02:31 PM
  • manosg Hey man, I remember you asking me to let you know if I heard any more Agalloch stuff. I jammed Pale Folklore today and I must say that I liked it a little more than The Mantle. Of course, this is based on just one listen but I'll definitely recheck both albums in the near future in order to have a better idea.
    June 27 02:01 PM
  • thelastsignal Sweet, dude! I will check that one. Any other pop punk recs for me?
    June 27 12:15 PM
  • thelastsignal I haven't heard their new one yet. How is it compared to Drifter?
    June 27 09:11 AM
  • Jom Character limit. Cheers for writing, though! There's a few variables that are in play, as you know, but it's always nice to have peer nominations.
    June 26 06:22 PM
  • Jom I would prefer those kind of matters to be e-mailed to me directly versus shoutboxed (although I don't mind either way since it's not like people are soothsayers; it just tends to cause problems with retaliatory voting and whatnot). I consider all nominations, but I have to run it by the staffers and/or meds first before doing anything substantial.
    June 26 06:20 PM
  • thelastsignal And heartsounds is the perfect example of fast-paced pop punk mixed with feeling.
    June 26 03:47 PM
  • thelastsignal Thanks, man. I appreciate it, just trying to get through everything one day at a time.
    June 26 03:43 PM
  • WeepingBanana feel free to run it whenever. i was actually thinking about doing one the other day but who knows when i'll get to it
    June 26 12:44 AM
  • Judio! I know :D. Thanks for being one of my biggest supporters this whole time man.
    June 25 10:49 PM
  • Judio! But feeling guilty about not following through is part of the fun lol! I'm definitely following through this year if it happens, and I have a few albums in mind that need reviews that someone will hopefully take a swing at.
    June 25 12:01 PM
  • Judio! Either way bro, it needs to happen. I need to make up for never reviewing the Green Day album you assigned me last year.
    June 25 11:50 AM
  • Judio! What's this I hear about not doing a new review a random album game? :(
    June 25 01:12 AM
  • Inhalation3 cool :)
    June 20 03:02 PM
  • Inhalation3 are u going to make another review a random album game list for 2014 mate?
    June 19 04:23 PM
  • thelastsignal hey dude been having bad writer's block lately. I wrote off a soundoff for the hotelier's album that you might dig haha. Changed my mind a little bit about it.
    June 17 10:10 AM
  • thelastsignal Hell yeah man, thanks! Hoping to do it justice lol. I like it better than On Ganymede.
    June 14 04:27 PM
  • Mongi123 Yea same haha and Shelter is really underrated imo I love it.
    June 13 05:34 PM
  • Mongi123 Sup man how are ya? And awesome that you're digging Alcest! That one I haven't jammed that much but I like that one a lot too. I'm due to jam that again.
    June 13 02:41 PM
  • evilford lol yeah. it's such a deep and varied genre, much more than lots of people would think
    June 13 01:09 PM
  • evilford thanks man I appreciate it. and opeth is pretty sweet yeah. as far as other dm goes, just been mostly hooked on the classix :D ...and I'm not great with keeping up with new stuff like Jac is, but some new-ish dm albums that I've been loving lately are Obliteration - Black Death Horizon, Drawn and Quartered - Hail Infernal Darkness, Grave Miasma - Odori Sepulcrorum and Zealotry - The Charnel Expanse :]
    June 13 12:46 PM
  • evilford we've been married almost 4 years and together almost 8. and thanks dude I appreciate that but I really am ok haha. it's a s***** situation but we're both on the same page that this is the best way for us to go with moving forward with our lives and we've been perfectly civil with each so far. congrats on the one year coming up! and thanks I'll check out that album. if you get a hankering for some great new dm, check out some Dead Congregation ;]
    June 13 11:59 AM
  • evilford anyways, I'm ok with it so don't worry about that. on the topic of music, it's pretty sweet right now dude, shaping up to be another good year for dm. lots of good stuff coming out, especially the new Dead Congregation which I love, man that band is great. you gotten into any more dm, or anything at all you heard that's sweet?
    June 13 11:42 AM
  • evilford well I'm probably getting a divorce. haha. right to the light topics. but my wife and I have had issues for years and have tried working on things and it's just not working so it looks like that's what's going to happen. we're not "happy" with this route per se but we both think it's what should happen. so how's your married life going? lol hopefully better than that.
