  • DaveyBoy Belated thanks for your PUP reco and Trophy Eyes review. Both will make my top 6 of the year. Tiny Moving Parts should sneak into top 25 as well. Youre a good judge.
    December 2 06:43 PM
  • Rowan5215 I can't remember if it was you or someone else nagging me about it last year... but I finally did that review for Dan Andriano's second solo album! check it
    November 12 01:16 AM
  • cryptside hey buddy, how goes it?
    November 11 11:36 PM
  • sixdegrees sweet, gonna check both. Fifth Dimension especially sounds like something i'd be into going by the review.
    November 10 08:24 PM
  • danielcardoso ahah ya i did. and i'll def try have this versatility in the future. big thanks man.
    November 5 03:51 AM
  • danielcardoso i truly appreciate you taking the time and concern man. and many thanks for the kind words too. but yes, i have sent sowing a shout. i gave it some thought and really think this is the best decision.
    November 4 08:32 PM
  • danielcardoso i think i'm gonna save just 3 of em actually. thing is i can't back up a big chunk of what i said in those reviews, since my opinion on a fair bunch of those records has changed considerably in a short span of time. so, added to the fact that i sort of hate how they're written, i don't see the point in keeping them :]
    November 4 12:37 PM
  • danielcardoso i'll try to salvage some reviews that are the only ones for the respective album to salvage the threads tho, if i think they're decent enough.
    November 4 10:34 AM
  • danielcardoso ah man, as i told sowing i just don't think the majority of them is really well written at all. most of that stuff, save for a couple of exceptions (virgin killer probably being one of em :]), hardly speaks to me musically anymore, and it just overall bugs me that i have such a high review count and 70% of em fall in that category. i've given this some thought and i really think this is what i want to do, i want a bit of a cleaner sheet to continue contributing to the site in a better way.
    November 4 10:34 AM
  • SowingSeason Check out: All Get Out - Nobody Likes a Quitter. Honestly a late top 10 album consideration for me. A lot like Manchester Orchestra and practically as good.
    November 3 09:03 PM
  • Ecnalzen No problem, hope you like them. I have been listening to that Trophy Eyes album you reviewed not too long ago, and I like what I have heard so far.
    November 3 07:32 PM
  • Ecnalzen Ever heard Like Pacific? Pretty good pop punk. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrIE4XuzjS8
    November 2 06:44 PM
  • collynas441 I STONGLY recommend you to listen the Utada Hikaru album. It's flawless, and probably one of my favourite albums of 2016!!
    November 2 01:29 PM
  • danielcardoso accurate megadeth and regina ratings dude ahah. tidal is still on the fence between 3.7 and 3.8 for me but i'm leaving at a 4 for now.
    October 31 07:52 AM
  • loveisamixtape never saw your shout oops lol but no not too harsh at all. album was extremely disappointing even though i'm hopeful that it clicks at some point in the future
    October 31 05:00 AM
  • theacademy honestly never listened to her in the past... will def investigate... thx for the rec, as always
    October 29 04:55 PM
  • collynas441 It's the new Kimbra song called Sweet Relief.)
    October 22 06:17 AM
  • collynas441 Hi! How are you?) What do you plan the review next? Jimmy Eat World or Jeff Rosenstock?)
    October 21 12:43 PM
  • danielcardoso thanks man, that honestly means a lot, i appreciate it :]
    October 20 05:09 PM
  • collynas441 OMG!!! Just listen this!!!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cSzBG8awAW0
    October 20 04:02 PM
  • danielcardoso hey thanks for your feedback man! yea 9 of my 11 reviews this year have been 2016 releases so i'm hoping that's a good ratio, and i'm gonna try to get something done for about 3 or 4 more before january, maybe more if it pops my eye.
    October 20 01:06 PM
  • danielcardoso hi man, hope all is well! honest question dude, do you think i'd have a good chance if i applied to a contributor spot next february? i hit a slump for 6 months, but i've trying to make up for it lately and luckily i already had more than a handful of reviews by march. tell me what you think please :]
    October 19 08:04 AM
  • Conmaniac hey cool thanks man. ill add it to my list and check asap!
    October 15 03:52 PM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot would I if I didn't like her last LP?
    October 13 03:29 PM
  • SowingSeason At least I'm at the point where I can wipe my own ratings...I may do that just for a fresh start, go back to .5 increments, and rate things as the description states (poor, good, great etc)...I got into this phase of metacritic thinking, where everything is on a 0-100 scale so if I think something is actually "good" I give it like a 3.8 or something (76) as opposed to a 3, which shows up as a yellow "mixed" rating of 60 which just doesn't feel right.
    October 13 02:28 PM
  • SowingSeason Nah I bumped it up because I can't make up my damn mind. It may yet go up or back down. My indecisiveness with ratings is maddening to me because I feel like the scores basically don't count until the end of the year once I've submitted my official ranking
    October 13 11:44 AM
  • SowingSeason my ratings are a joke I need to go back to .5 increments because I don't think my mind can handle that much freedom
    October 13 08:12 AM
  • collynas441 Dear Atari, thank you for the negative review. XD Very good reading.) Now, waiting for the Trophy Wife.))
    October 11 03:03 PM
  • DaveyQ Loving the Olsen review, and the Big Thief review... I totally agree but as for myself rating Big Thief I seriously have no clue. I liked it but at the same time I'm confused as to what I truly feel. I'd lean towards a 3.5 - 4. It had its moments. I need to read that Spektor review though I haven't gotten into her and yet I've heard good things.
    October 11 08:29 AM
  • collynas441 Hi! It's me again! Would you like to check out and probably review the new Balance and Composure album?)
    October 10 04:09 PM
  • DrGonzo1937 haha yeah, I've done a few since I've been on here. I have, but do you think I'm good enough to be one?
    October 10 02:04 AM
  • DaveyQ Love some of your folk reviews! I have a question though, Im new and I need to know how one measures objectivity? By definition measuring the rating of a creative art is impossible...
    October 9 07:39 AM
  • Evreaia Yeah I've been trying to do that for a long time haha, but I keep forgetting it. Will do in the weekend!
    October 7 06:11 AM
  • SowingSeason Seeing as I got around to your message late, I'll just reply anyway and let you know the review is great!
    October 5 03:17 PM
  • FreddieDelaney31 i mean tbh can anyone?
    October 5 07:44 AM
  • klap hey sry man friend of mine has been visiting from Australia and i haven't given it the time it deserves. i've given it a few spins in the car tho and it's alright. tbh regina hasn't done much for me since Far, although this one has a few classics. feel free to give it a shot, it was yours to begin with!
    October 3 06:18 PM
  • SowingSeason u should review the new regina...would love to have that on the feature board somewhere
    October 3 04:03 PM
  • collynas441 Hi! How are you?) Do you have plans to review the Regina Spektor album?) I can see, that you like it.) And what about Keaton Henson album?)
    October 1 02:52 PM
  • collynas441 Ok.) Here it is.) If you want to review it, please let me know.) Good luck!)http://www.npr.org/2016/09/08/492873586/first-listen-keaton-henson-kindly-now
    September 18 04:32 AM
  • collynas441 Hi dude! How are you? Would you mind if I give you a request for review?) I have a strong sense that you'll like this album.)
    September 17 01:27 AM
  • guitarded_chuck thanks dude, so many good classic disney films, robin hoods one of the best
    September 15 08:02 AM
  • Crysis Alright man, thanks for the feedback I really appreciate it. I'll post it now.
    September 12 06:26 PM
  • Crysis sent, thanks man
    September 10 10:00 PM
  • Ecnalzen I am also thinking of trying out Brave New World. Have you listened to it? It's the only one on here post Seventh Son with a 4 rating.
    September 10 08:39 PM
  • Ecnalzen I probably just need to get all their albums from the 80s at some point. Let's be realistic here.
    September 10 08:29 PM
  • Crysis let me know what you think and unless you have a different opinion you'd rather post first (because you have dibs, after all) i'll post it here
    September 9 08:53 PM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot K man I'll read soon
    September 9 08:36 PM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot yeah some albums are just harder to pin down, whereas others make it obvious what their qualities are
    September 9 04:05 PM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot I thought those lines were a bit overused/cliche. It's just that every review I see for some female singer-songwriter claims that she's "realer" than all the others and it's ceased to mean as much to me when I read that type of praise. I think the review could've gone more in-depth into really hammering those points home
    September 9 02:01 PM
  • Ecnalzen Hot damn, Moonchild is starting things out pretty well...
    September 8 10:01 PM
  • Ecnalzen Really? I friggin love that song. Ah, Can I Play With Madness is also on there. Youtube, here I come!
    September 8 09:56 PM
  • collynas441 I'm so glad that you like it. I hope you're doing well.) What do you plan to review next?)
    September 8 04:52 PM
  • collynas441 Thanks for your review of the new Angel Olsen Album! You're terrific! =)
    September 8 03:35 PM
  • Crysis i have something written for winters gate but i honestly have no idea if im being overly harsh or if im even making sense
    September 7 08:57 PM
  • Evreaia Will do my friend! :)
    August 30 04:59 AM
  • Ecnalzen Yeah, I actually like new Bayside quite a bit. Thanks for mentioning it to me. I might have forgotten about it if you hadn't.
    August 30 12:26 AM
  • TheSpirit I HIGHLY recommend you listen to this album https://withtheendinmind.bandcamp.com/
    August 29 08:03 PM
  • TheSpirit I don't haha, just not feeling it. Just didn't strike a chord with me. A lot has to do with the length. By the end of the album, I was ready for it to be over. Maybe if I had listened to it first, i would have dug it more, but I was so fed up with the album by the last song. I really liked Volcano though, until that last two minutes where it kind of overstayed its welcome.
    August 26 07:02 PM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot I actually just emailed him. I would've liked to do it on FB so it would've resulted in something more fluid and casual but I'm still happy with it
    August 25 07:33 PM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot but yeah I know exactly what you mean
    August 25 07:17 PM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot I mean you can retract your dib if you want to lol, I almost did for this album tbh
    August 25 07:17 PM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot I've always been intimidated with writing metal reviews tbh. I always feel on the outside looking in. then again I was pretty happy with my Ritual Chamber review so I dunno
    August 25 07:09 PM
  • Crysis agreed, when you listen to above the weeping world or since the day it all came down it sounds to me like a totally different band. the riffs are constantly shifting and very pronounced, whereas on winters gate the riffs tend to blend into everything else and at many points it comes across as wailing and not really doing anything. i think markus vanhala has been an overall negative influence on the guitar riffs because they all sound similar and remind me of omnium gatherum.
    August 25 06:53 PM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot lol I thought it was a bit of a weaker review from me
    August 25 06:42 PM
  • Crysis to be quite honest i'm not enamored with it either, imo it is their second weakest release (one for sorrow being their weakest by far). i'll still review it of course but it won't be glowing unless for some reason it clicks with me in the coming weeks. kinda bummed about the whole thing because i was really looking forward to this release, so much so that i paid a lot of money for the gold vinyl on their european store.
    August 24 08:29 PM
  • zaruyache HAPPY TO BE OF SERVICE. Occasionally I try to jam those jems RYM loves that Sput ignores :p
    August 24 03:30 PM
  • Ecnalzen So, the new Bayside... I guess this is what they sound like when they try branching out. I like it.
    August 24 12:56 PM
  • Evreaia I'll check it out right away!
    August 24 10:15 AM
  • collynas441 Hi! How are you? Would you like to review the new Bayside record?)
    August 24 07:00 AM
  • BallsToTheWall I don't think I have one but I love this band Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PqIypjDiRNQ
    August 23 11:54 AM
  • Futures yo thanks my dude! added to my list of jams.
    August 22 07:52 PM
  • BallsToTheWall https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5oRiqsmjyvcListen to this. Death in Rome do martial neo-folk covers of classic or modern pop songs. Like Wreckingball, What is love, Careless Whisper, Love is a Battlefield, etc. It's a gimmick but a great ****ing gimmick.
    August 22 03:00 PM
  • Keyblade hey dude no problem, i always gotchu
    August 21 06:01 PM
  • Jacquibim hey bro, maybe contact I, Voidhanger and see if they'll give you something, they seem pretty liberal like that. Not that I don't trust you but their promos are traceable and if it leaked they'd know exactly who to blame, so..
    August 20 12:53 PM
  • Artuma thanks man
    August 18 06:23 PM
  • Artuma yeah i can believe it's frustrating when you know there are tons of great compositions you will never have the time to hear. this noob right here could use some of them recs though so feel free, maybe something more modern
    August 18 06:00 PM
  • Artuma i know basically nothing about classical music so can't really say anything else lol. haven't really given it much of a chance though
    August 18 05:46 PM
  • Artuma nice sibelius ratings mate, dude is a god here in finland
    August 18 05:34 PM
  • SowingSeason ****ing ****. I'm at work.
    August 17 04:36 PM
  • Ecnalzen I will probably end up getting a few actual albums in the future, but this greatest hits will do for now. I will check out the Crystal Road album, too. I just never really enjoyed that type of metal when I was younger, but it has grown on me ever since Anthrax. http://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/25737/Iron-Maiden-Somewhere-Back-in-Time/
    August 17 09:14 AM
  • Ecnalzen The compilation I have is a bunch of stuff from the 80s. It has Aces High, 2 Minutes to Midnight, Hallowed be thy Name, The Evil that Men Do (which is my favorite so far), stuff like that. I think this is all Dickinson for vocals. They take some of the older songs from live cuts that he did instead of studio versions. I like his voice a lot, he and Belladonna have similar styles and was the main reason I wanted to listen to them some more when I was first shown a few songs. Plus, those guitars.
    August 17 09:08 AM
  • Artuma yeah i used to have the mantle 5'd but it has slightly grown off me
    August 16 09:47 PM
  • Artuma lol it's not like i'm an aficionado or anything in the field either. start with the classics
    August 16 05:57 PM
  • Artuma pretty much the same, i rarely have those 'genre binges' anymore that i once used to have but lately i've been jamming a lot of old school punk, especially hardcore. and emo (skramz) of course
    August 16 05:39 PM
  • Artuma yeah it's one of those genres which i rarely jam anymore but whenever i do i'm like damn why don't i listen to this more often
    August 16 05:22 PM
  • Artuma downfall of nur sounds great dude, especially digging the neo-folk bits. the metal stuff is pretty standard but as a whole this is great! makes me wanna jam some more atmo bm, haven't listened to this kind of music in a long time
    August 16 04:11 PM
  • Ecnalzen Really? Interesting. I will probably listen to it when it comes out on Spotify or Youtube. I don't do much with Apple stuff and don't have an account with them. You listen to much Iron Maiden? I never gave them a shot before and got one of their greatest hits, and damn, I have been missing out.
    August 16 04:01 PM
  • Toondude10 The Roots is probably my favorite, but they're all such gorgeous records.
    August 11 12:30 PM
  • BADBOY what is the best sum 41 album?
    August 10 08:00 PM
  • DaveyBoy I already have the Tiny Moving Parts LP on mp3 player. Id never heard of them before, so am looking forward to giving them a listen. And re pop punk, I gave the new Real Friends LP a listen and didn't mind it. I know they get a lot of crap, but I think a lot of its unwarranted
    August 8 05:31 AM
  • DaveyBoy Im now hungry and need a slow burger. LOL. Thanks for the recos mate. Theyre all on a list to at least listen to a few songs and then go from there. Lets hope the 2nd half of the year is a bit better, led by Bayside in a couple of weeks time
    August 6 10:15 PM
  • DaveyBoy Hey mate, hope all is well. Give me some good albums from 2016 please. Something catchy, rocky and / or pop punky. I know you are broadening your horizons at present, but there seems to be a lack of quality pop punk so far this year. Tell me I have missed something.
    August 6 10:48 AM
  • Mongi123 I probably won't listen to it cause I love it the way it is honestly
    August 5 02:38 PM
  • SowingSeason Eh changed my mind. I'll be here until I die.
    August 4 06:18 PM
  • Toondude10 I think I rec'd you this guy before but just in case I think you should listen to this, I'm sure you'll dig: https://www.goldenmp3.ru/radical-face/the-family-tree-the-roots
    August 4 04:50 PM
  • klap if you can't do it i'll probably take a stab fo sho, thanks man
    August 3 08:29 PM
  • FreddieDelaney31 I checked out Roads to the North, album is amazing
    July 30 09:19 PM
  • Hawks I'm gonna have to check that too, I'm about to jam Wildernessking in a minute here.
    July 30 06:37 PM
  • TalonsOfFire Roger that. I've been meaning to check them out, especially since Agalloch are no more
    July 30 02:19 PM
  • Hawks I'll def jam the whole thing within the next few days. m/
    July 28 10:37 PM
  • Hawks Sweet will check soon bro.
    July 28 06:03 PM
  • FreddieDelaney31 PANOPTICON IS THE s*** THANK YOU SO MUCHit's the perfect mixture of epic and expansive while still being heavy as ****this is 110% exactly the kind of band I was looking for, good looks
    July 28 04:29 PM
  • FreddieDelaney31 I would love any and all bm and metal recs you can give me!
    July 27 09:47 PM
  • FreddieDelaney31 I have! I checked out most of The Mantle. I loved what I heard but I'm just kinda into heavier stuff atm, I'm definitely going to go back and listen to them more soon tho!
    July 27 08:04 PM
  • FreddieDelaney31 haha yes, I am very new to bm. My friend introduced me to Shai Hulud, and I went to Converge from there, then Vektor and Coldworld and so forth, and I'm basically just obsessed with all different types of metal right now. I had never really been into it that much previously except when I was a teenager.
    July 27 05:36 PM
  • FreddieDelaney31 Honestly as of right now I think Autumn is the better album. I really love the singing and more tranquil vibe of it compared to Melancholie.
    July 27 04:17 PM
  • FreddieDelaney31 Man, so glad that you got me into Coldworld, Melancholie is incredible! Would you say Autumn is comparable? Yr review makes it sound like they're quite different stylistically
    July 26 08:06 PM
  • ABjordanMM I really love "man", it has a FANSD vibe and I love the message. God and heartache are favorites of mine as well for similar reasons. But I dig their different sounding stuff too, like Sleepin', it has an indie pop sound which I enjoy. Flower and runnin' are great as well. And the second half of marigold is a huge album highlight.
    July 26 02:49 PM
  • Toondude10 yeah I was thinking about it, though considering I'm working pretty much the entire week I'm not sure if I'll get to it until next week, assuming I have time that is.
    July 25 11:42 AM
  • Toondude10 you gonna review the new Relient K?
    July 24 09:15 AM
  • Evreaia I'd sacrifice my youngest child for a new TenhiPS: I don't a child, but still!
    July 22 03:43 PM
  • Evreaia I liked everything on the list, everything had its merits if you ask me haha. And yeah, check out The Night Watch! It starts a bit bombastic, but after that it builds u to greatness. Really enjoying that album so far. (Still, I could use some good, real neo-folk this year)
    July 22 01:13 PM
  • Evreaia also you might like this too, Prog Rock/Neofolk with the guitarist of Musk Ox. https://thenightwatch.bandcamp.com/
    July 21 05:07 PM
  • Evreaia Sweet! I included the full album for all but 1/2 albums.
    July 21 04:30 PM
  • Evreaia Ah, sorry for the typo in your name.
    July 21 04:20 PM
  • Evreaia Attari my friend, if you're still looking for some BM, I made a list with a few recs, I think you'll like most of these. Some of these really need a lot more love. http://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?memberid=566392
    July 21 04:20 PM
  • Crysis I'm getting it now, will give it a listen hopefully tonight.
    July 19 05:46 PM
  • ABjordanMM Honestly the singles might be the weakest on the album
    July 18 09:50 PM
  • ABjordanMM Dude just listen to local construction and your mind will be changed.
    July 18 07:12 PM
  • TalonsOfFire Thx dude, I might do a full review. Listening to it takes away a bit of the sting from Agalloch's recent break-up given how some of it sounds influenced by them
    July 16 07:35 PM
  • BlackMalachite Thank you so much man! I hope you enjoy it.
    July 10 11:40 PM
  • BlackMalachite Hey man it's Snide. Would you be down to check out my album? - http://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?listid=167917
    July 9 01:14 PM
  • Kris. domesplitter is fantastic but brainless god is at this point one of my favorite albums ever. new one needs to sink in more but might be on par with it. all ive been listening to since the stream came out.
    June 24 09:57 AM
  • Kris. rules obviously
    June 23 12:59 AM
  • Ecnalzen Yeah... I haven't decided if I want to get it right away, will probably need to hear it all first. I might be set with the 3 albums I have by them for the time being, unless they shake things up in the future.
    June 11 02:48 PM
  • Ecnalzen Jeez, they may just make that decision for you then. Well, at least with getting laid off is not the same as getting fired, and it won't make the job search more difficult. You excited about new Bayside? I liked the first song they released, but the second one might take me a few more times for me to warm up to.
    June 10 02:40 PM
  • Ecnalzen You think you might try something different at some point? I think the longest I have ever work at one place is what I am doing now (4 years in November). I have been doing retail jobs since around 2009, though.
    June 10 12:15 AM
  • Ecnalzen I will be a maintenance technician for a place that makes products for electric and telecommunications companies. Basically, I and some other people are there to make sure their machines either don't break down or fix them when they do. I think I have other things I do as well, but that is the main part of the job.
    June 10 12:04 AM
  • Ecnalzen You're fine. I don't need a ton of it, anyway, just wanted a few more to round out my library since I only have those two and a Scar Symmetry album. Well, I still enjoyed the riffs and some of the lead parts are nice, but most of the solos are just kind of messy and shredding without any care of direction. Still, Belladonna sounds just as good as ever so can't complain there. Actually, I went back to school for a certificate at a tech school over the last year and just got a new job.
    June 9 07:34 PM
  • Ecnalzen Hey, 3 bands is plenty and should keep me occupied for the time being. Don't sell yourself short, ha. I forgot to ask you what you thought of new Anthrax when it came out. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would, but the guitar solos from the new guy weren't near as good as most of the other stuff I have by them.
    June 9 07:09 PM
  • Ecnalzen Hey, bud. I was wondering if you listen to much other MeloDeath besides In Flames and Insomnium. Kind of wanting to try some more out from the genre.
    June 9 05:26 PM
  • manosg yeah, there's a slight possibility it becomes a bit tiresome haha. And to be honest, I should have taken a break a year ago but gardening had become a bit of a habit at that point. So next time I plant some vegetables, hopefully, I'll have the same drive I had during my first years.
    June 7 02:20 PM
  • klap u were correct
    June 6 11:38 PM
  • YoYoMancuso i actually saw them live back in November! They opened for The Menzingers. I'll have to check out a full album sometime, couldn't really enjoy their set 100% because I didn't know any songs
    June 6 09:55 PM
  • manosg hey friend, glad your garden is going so well! After planting a lot of goodies during winter, I decided to let the ground rest. So, hopefully, I'll plant new stuff next April. Feels kinda weird because I've been growing my own vegetables for 5 years straight, all year long lol.
    June 6 02:19 PM
  • SowingSeason No problem! Just keep doing what you're doing, I've always enjoyed your write ups.
    June 5 08:19 AM
  • LizHanson Really like your review for Masterpiece! Can't wait to see your articles for some pop releases, like Katy Perry, for example. Liz.
    June 5 07:38 AM
  • SowingSeason It read just fine to me. It also convinced me to check out the album so that's good. Some level of stagnation is inevitable when you're staff and reviewing often, the important thing is to just keep it interesting for yourself. If you have fun writing it, chances are others will have fun reading it. I haven't noticed any lull/repetition in your writing though, so it's probably more in your head
    June 4 07:47 AM
  • collynas441 Also, I want to thank you for recommending the new Big Thief record. I liked it.
    June 2 04:53 PM

    June 1 03:20 PM
  • collynas441 Hi. It's me again.) Would you like to take a look at the newest and criminally underrated album from Beth Orton - Kidsticks?
    June 1 03:18 AM
  • collynas441 Good luck with the review and have a nice day.)
    May 30 01:23 PM
  • collynas441 I really like it. But I also think it's very underrated.(
    May 30 12:31 PM
  • collynas441 Would you like to review it?)
    May 30 06:24 AM

    May 15 01:42 PM
  • Conmaniac haha just saw it thats great
    May 10 08:10 PM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot and Big L is legendary so def give him some time
    May 5 02:02 PM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot the new Lil Ugly Mane has some noise and industrial flavour to it, kinda like Dalek I suppose. also check Nickelus F and Shawn Kemp - Trick Dice (which i also reviewed). Public Enemy are also kinda essential, as Dalek took a lot of influence from their style. and maybe Tackhead
    May 5 01:53 PM
  • SowingSeason And no, not much else to impart. I don't think my posts are any better than yours so I'm not in a position to dish out advice. Just experiment with different formats and hit preview over and over until you're content - that's my method! =)
    May 5 01:43 PM
  • SowingSeason Hey! To make the paragraphs straight I just use the justify button on the toolbar and to size the images I typically just drag the corners to my liking, and use the preview post button religiously. Unfortunately they're not much of trade secrets or anything lol. It's actually a lot easier now than what it used to be - in the beginning I had to type the html code for the entire damn thing.
    May 5 01:40 PM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot yeah can't quite decide what I want the centennial to be
    May 2 07:27 PM
  • Insurrection always open to new classical recs. will check
    April 30 06:15 PM
  • Toondude10 yeah if you liked the new Sufjan I'm sure you'll like this
    April 25 04:54 PM
  • Toondude10 I think this is a band you'd dig. https://www.goldenmp3.ru/radical-face/the-family-tree-the-roots
    April 24 07:10 AM
  • SowingSeason If a review isn't up by Monday night then I most likely am not covering it...I didn't have dibs though, so don't feel restricted if you really want to put one out there
    April 23 02:56 PM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot oo nice catch
    April 22 07:27 PM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot yeah but i think you'd appreciate the instrumental elements, maybe.. worth a shot
    April 22 12:17 PM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot not sure if you like Dalek but give their new album a try
    April 22 12:08 PM
  • SowingSeason I'd love to. Might not get a chance for several days yet. I take it you like it?
    April 21 07:43 PM
  • JamieTwort Oh really? Nice. I had no idea about the Woods connection. I'll let you know what I think when I get around to it.
    April 21 05:03 PM
  • JamieTwort I saw it on RYM and immediately thought after seeing the mention of Dylan that I'll either dig it or consider it a cheap knock-off. Hopefully the former but either way I'm intrigued to check it out.
    April 21 04:52 PM
  • JamieTwort Interesting that you should mention that today as I only stumbled across that album earlier today and thought it might be something I'd dig. Will check it out.
    April 21 04:36 PM
  • Insurrection that should keep me busy for a while. thanks man
    April 20 09:22 PM
  • Insurrection good to see you getting into weezer btw. theyve got some great stuff
    April 20 05:32 PM
  • Insurrection so yea it was the right symphony, just broken up for some reason. my favorites by sibelius are 5 and 7 for sure but ill give them all some more time to grow. any other lesser known symphonies you recommend?
    April 20 05:14 PM
  • Insurrection agh, i guess ill compare it to a youtube performance or something. thats the only thing that sucks about classical music digitally, there are so many versions of any piece making it hard to find the perfect one
    April 19 04:18 PM
  • Insurrection the version of sibelius' 7th symphony i have has four movements, total 23 minutes. is that about right?
    April 19 03:39 PM
  • cryptside Awesome man! I will check that Woods album, reading your review of it now. Thanks, man! Glad to be back reviewing.
    April 16 05:09 PM
  • cryptside Just posted a review for Curious Things, actually.
    April 16 01:10 PM
  • cryptside I would say Curious Things by Eluvium is one of my favorites from this year so far, although it's just a b-sides comp. He's my favorite ambient artist, so there's that. I like the Starting Line's EP as well, but I've been struggling to find things that I love from this year so far. Hammock and EITS's records were pretty special as well though.
    April 16 10:45 AM
  • Rowan5215 It was god awful. Sounded like four low quality demos for Disaster off Dogs Eating Dogs. I'll check the new one tho
    April 15 07:08 PM
  • Rowan5215 For real? After ...Of Nightmares I thought they were dead tbh
    April 15 06:39 PM
  • cryptside Hey buddy. Yep, got one coming this weekend.
    April 14 05:06 PM
  • SowingSeason Track of the day seems to be losing some steam. Not sure how long/if it will last, but thanks for being incredibly active either way.
    April 14 02:47 PM
  • Insurrection ah, i guess i did start his stuff. i was trying to go chronologically but ill get to it all eventually. im feeling a classical binge coming on soon
    April 13 05:31 PM
  • Insurrection i haven't heard any sibelius actually :s I'll definitely get to him soon. and im nowhere near done with the beethoven reviews lol. i was hoping to have at least symphony no 7 done by now but it's coming in the near future for sure. anyway its nice to have a staffer repping the true classics ;)
    April 13 05:17 PM
  • Insurrection hows the transition from contrib to staff? more pressure or still pretty chill?
    April 13 04:39 PM
  • Insurrection i used the program 'sibelius' a lot for composing (dunno if the composer actually had anything to do with it lol) but yea ive had his symphonies sitting in itunes for the longest time, gotta get to em soon. but im good, school's ending in a couple weeks and im going to NY for a week on vacation after that so things are looking up. i wanted to try for staff last time but the apps are always held during my dry spells. idk why, november through january is my review drought season
    April 13 04:38 PM
  • Insurrection hey man! nice to see classical ease its way into your pie chart ;) how've you been man? how's the staff life?
    April 13 04:13 PM
  • Trebor. I'll try dude
    April 8 06:06 PM
  • Trebor. I might try. I just don't have the words for reviews anymore really. I've been writing tons of screenplays but for some reason it's hard for me to write a review. Maybe I'm burnt out from the other writing idk
    April 8 05:56 PM
  • Trebor. yeah man it's horribly depressing and relatable
    April 6 02:55 PM
  • JamieTwort Not yet but I'll definitely get on it soon :]
    April 5 02:39 PM
  • cryptside Well, I loved it for the most part. It definitely took a similar story arc to A New Hope. Overall I was really impressed with it though.
    April 5 01:36 PM
  • Trebor. I think I'm going to try. I've been having a really hard time writing reviews the last year
    April 4 08:53 PM
  • Rowan5215 Thanks my man! Couldn't have done it without your feedback over the years
    April 4 07:38 PM
  • Trebor. I think they broke up :( I just heard this album for the first time today and I haven't had such a strong immediate connection with an album in a while. The lyrics are so good and I love the way the whole album builds up and peaks on the last few tracks
    April 4 06:38 PM
  • Trebor. Dude you gotta check out this album it's ridiculous. https://grandview.bandcamp.com/album/everything-between-paint-and-a-wall
    April 4 03:00 PM
  • JamieTwort Cool, will have a look now.
    April 4 02:04 PM
  • cryptside Niiiice! What did you think of The Force Awakens?! And thanks for the compliments man. So psyched you're staff now.
    April 4 01:11 PM
  • cryptside Finally put out a review! I have three more planned out though. Mind taking a look at it?
    April 3 03:15 PM
  • JamieTwort Didn't even realise it was out yet. Good to hear, will check. How does it compare to their previous 2?
    April 3 09:30 AM
