  • emester Thanks! Snares on it sound a bit off but I love how those guitars envelope you in fuzz
    September 21 12:51 AM
  • ExplosiveOranges Glad to hear you doing well, brother. High school's a pain in the ass, but autumn is coming, so it does feel nice not to boil like an egg every time you walk outside during the day.
    September 20 11:20 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Damn dude, never got back to you on the Spectral Lore thing. Apologies. Anyways, how's life suiting you?
    September 20 09:45 PM
  • Mongi123 Haha you're missing out bro! It's a one of a kind franchise. Pikmin 2 and 3 are some of my favorites. So fun, engaging and at times pretty stressful and disturbing haha
    September 19 08:21 PM
  • Mongi123 Never played the 3ds one by 3D World is sweet. Never really played a DK game, but I reccomend playing Pikmin 3. As well as the other two. Amazing games.
    September 19 07:52 PM
  • Mongi123 Dude Mario Kart 8, Mario 3D World, Mario Wii U, mother****in Pikmin 3 which is my fav, but yea I hope that a new zelda comes out soon.
    September 19 07:43 PM
  • Mongi123 Idk fighting games, with the exception of Super Smash, which I play religiously with my friends, aren't really my thing. I'm more of a story driven game kinda guy.
    September 19 07:24 PM
  • Mongi123 I'm gonna just stick to traditional zelda haha but yea I love the hd edition. I'd even go as far as to say it's better than the original.
    September 19 07:07 PM
  • Mongi123 Cool man I'd give that one a listen it's stunning. Gonna give that a review soon. And I definitely think Wind Waker and Ocarina of my favs. I also really love TP and PHG.
    September 19 06:34 PM
  • Mongi123 Yea man Zelda is amazing! I recently 5d halos music. One of the best scores I've ever heard by far.
    September 19 03:11 PM
  • Mongi123 Oh wow you have two Zelda soundtracks 5'd? Nice man.
    September 18 07:55 PM
  • ComeToDaddy Thanks friend, appreciate the notice. I'm glad you enjoyed the Spectral Lore album enough to rec it around a bit too, deserves as much exposure as it can get
    September 18 06:40 PM
  • PortalofPerfection Appreciate you checking out Black Drop man. Really struck a cord with me I've been playing that album every week since I got it months ago. Hope you like it ?
    September 18 12:06 AM
  • ExplosiveOranges Is the new Spectral Lore really worth the hype?
    September 17 09:03 PM
  • Judio! Damn dude, now you really got me excited! Gonna check hard soon.
    September 17 04:24 PM
  • Judio! Haven't heard of them before, but that black metal/folk tag definitely has me interested
    September 17 01:18 PM
  • Ecnalzen Woo hoo! I believe I have heard of Insomnium. Will look into them, too.
    September 16 06:34 PM
  • Ecnalzen Just Jester Race, so far. Whoracle shall be my next one (was planning on asking what to go to next, anyway). I super like it now that I am accustomed to this type of harsh vocals.
    September 15 09:08 PM
  • Mister Twister dude did you even check out Tantara after
    September 13 05:12 PM
  • Ecnalzen So, I've recently taken up In Flames. I thought you'd be proud.
    September 13 04:58 PM
  • manosg Hey man, just wanted to say thanks again and I appreciate the support. I'll probably apply again when it's time and we'll see how that goes.
    September 13 06:17 AM
  • laughingman22 Thank you! Like what Judio said, it is the most ambitious thing I've done. I'm happy people seem to like it
    September 11 08:28 PM
  • Judio! Ok cool. And I get you haha, I've been really really slacking on checking new music ever since college started. Seriously gotta get back in the music game soon.
    September 11 05:29 PM
  • Judio! Glad to hear that dude! Out of curiosity, do you like it better than Tours of the Bleak?
    September 11 05:14 PM
  • Judio! Thanks man! Yeah it's by far the longest and most ambitious album I've ever done so I'm so glad it came out ok! Not to sound egotistical or anything but I'm really proud of how the album turned out.
    September 11 05:01 PM
  • thelastsignal 50th is up, bro!! :)
    September 10 04:38 PM
  • thelastsignal Nah, man lol. Things are just crazy right now, as always. I plan on posting my 50th sometime this week.
    September 9 11:53 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Lol, I was never a fan tbh. My uncles smoked a lot when I was a kid, and that didn't really give me the best impression. But hey, I get it. I can't stand ****ing cigarettes, though. Cigars and pipe tobacco are better IMO.
    September 9 08:18 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges You smoke?
    September 9 08:12 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Lol, nah. I'm just ****ing with you.
    September 9 08:07 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Bruv, please. That medical s*** you got there? It ain't nothin' compared to what we got on the streets of Boston and NYC.
    September 9 07:59 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges I actually haven't been there before, but I like the general sort of political and social background there. Closest I've gotten is ****ing California, haha. Hope to visit there with a couple friends in a few years.
    September 9 07:51 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Cool! I like the Washington/Colorado/Oregon area of the country. Only place I really hope I never have to go to is the Deep South.
    September 9 07:43 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Damn right I am.
    September 9 07:36 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Just had a warm, hearty dinner. The Long New England Winter is coming soon.
    September 9 07:27 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Tbh if I had staff powers most of them would be 4.8s or 4.9s.
    September 9 06:45 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Hey man, I give out ridiculously high ratings all the time. If you wanna preserve that sense of objectivity, go on ahead.
    September 9 06:35 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Ouch, haha. There's just so much new stuff coming up that I wanna review, and so little time and energy to do it.
    September 8 05:40 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Thanks, man. I feel kinda burned out, tbh
    September 8 05:01 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Hey man, would you mind checking out my newest review? I edited it around a little after getting some helpful criticism, and I want to see what you think of it.
    September 8 04:46 PM
  • Judio! Thanks man. I'll definitely be releasing more stuff in the next few months so be on the lookout for that :). Also, me and laughingman's new SSM album will be out in a week or two and I'm really happy about how it turned out so be sure to give that one a listen too once it surfaces.
    September 8 03:33 PM
  • Atari yeah your debut ep was cool too, even though it was pretty short haha. Hmmm a medieval fantasy concept does sound pretty sweet as well ;) I'm interested to hear what you come up with the next time around dude
    September 8 03:16 PM
  • Judio! Nah I'm not focused on space at all. Space is just really easy to make music about because it fascinates me so much. I've explored other concepts that interest me before, like with the robot-apocalypse them with Utopias, the nuclear holocaust theme with Tours of the Bleak with SSM and lucid dreams with my upcoming SSM album. The ocean would be cool to explore...maybe a medieval fantasy concept would be cool too. I got lots of ideas...just not enough time to record all of them lol.
    September 8 02:16 PM
  • Judio! Oh and I see you checked out my debut EP too! what'd you think of that one?
    September 8 01:30 PM
  • Judio! Yep the forums never cease to be entertaining lol. And thanks man, glad you liked the album! It was never my intention to be more accessible but I get how it turned out that way. I'm actually a little bit concerned that im too far in my comfort zone to be honest. Got to think of new ways to push the envelope more. Anyway, thanks for your feedback, I always appreciate it!
    September 8 01:14 PM
  • Judio! Oh yeah I did. The reason for my ban says "No Toondude-ing allowed" lol
    September 8 12:24 PM
  • Judio! wtf I did?
    September 8 12:23 PM
  • Judio! Don't worry about it dude. Looking forward to hearing what you gotta say!
    September 8 12:05 PM
  • Judio! Cool dude, thanks! :D
    September 5 01:56 PM
  • Judio! Hey man, out of curiosity have you gotten around to jamming the new ASD album yet? No worries if not, was just wondering.
    September 5 01:18 PM
  • BallsToTheWall yo yo yo.
    September 4 10:30 PM
  • thelastsignal I know, dude! So psyched! :]
    September 4 09:10 PM
  • Xar yea yea, how else can I affect average ratingz?? :]
    September 3 12:22 PM
  • thelastsignal hey dude, it was pretty awesome. Islands did an awesome job, and we all had a blast.
    September 2 12:16 PM
  • DecayingMajesty hello
    August 29 05:05 PM
  • thelastsignal No other way to be when you care about someone, you know? It's either worth it or it isn't, once you pass that hurdle then it becomes a little bit easier haha.
    August 29 03:58 PM
  • ABjordanMM Haha all good
    August 29 03:53 PM
  • thelastsignal Totally understand that, man. There's nothing I love more than taking care of myself and having my own place. It's important to me. I just want her to get the help she needs, she is kind of fighting depression and it is ripping us apart because she wasn't looking for help for the longest time. She will have insurance soon, so hopefully things turn around.
    August 29 03:16 PM
  • thelastsignal Yeah dude, I remember you saying that haha. Nothing to be ashamed of, certainly, but I can understand being excited about getting out there. I'm actually trying to figure out my living situation AGAIN. Trouble with my girlfriend, hopefully we can work it out.
    August 29 02:54 PM
  • thelastsignal I can imagine dude. It's always exciting to move! Do you like the new place?
    August 29 02:46 PM
  • thelastsignal Nada man, trying to get through work today. Going out with some buddies to a free concert and drink ourselves into oblivion. Since we never do it, it should be a good time. What's up with you?
    August 29 02:15 PM
  • Lakes. he gave it to me a while back, i've been using it on and off for about a year
    August 29 01:09 PM
  • Lakes. yes i was lol then that account got banned and jom unbanned this one
    August 29 01:02 PM
  • Lakes. i'm working on an emo meets synthpop album right now under a new moniker and when i'm finished it would be cool if you reviewed it lol. it's really different from the first aeterna tristitia release
    August 29 12:57 PM
  • thelastsignal Nice man, congratulations! That's a huge step!
    August 28 08:15 AM
  • ABjordanMM Haha alright. Took a min to grow on me.
    August 27 05:45 PM
  • Keyblade Thanks man, they've been on my radar and I've been meaning to check
    August 27 09:07 AM
  • thelastsignal Hey, man. How goes it?
    August 26 10:37 PM
  • ABjordanMM Yeah he sure is.
    August 26 08:50 PM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot idk I was making a lame joke -- disregard
    August 26 07:26 PM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot It's a cruel world on Sput
    August 26 05:29 PM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot Yeah dude. The biggest thing I'm working on is finding a smooth balance between objective and subjective. I want my reviews to be informative enough to give the gist, but also entertaining enough that people will actually enjoy reading them. My earlier reviews were pretty essay-like so I'm trying to work on adding a more personal touch to my stuff, but it's a work in progress
    August 26 04:07 PM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot Lol thanks man
    August 26 01:19 PM
  • ABjordanMM Sweet man. I'm diggin' it. Even though I might be a lil' bias. haha
    August 25 11:31 PM
  • ABjordanMM Just released the "Wasteland Lovers" EP today
    August 25 09:43 PM
  • ABjordanMM Hey man, remember me? Just thought you might wanna check this band out. This is the lead singer of my old band sirens doing some good folk songs. http://thefragile.bandcamp.com/
    August 25 09:42 PM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot cool thx
    August 25 09:39 PM
  • SowingSeason It was actually your review that reminded me to rate it. I listened months ago. Thanks you!
    August 25 09:35 PM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot hey man, could I get a bit of input on my last couple revs?
    August 25 09:22 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Thanks, dude. I'll definitely go for it.
    August 25 08:36 PM
  • SowingSeason I read your more recent stuff and there's not much for me to say. It's all well-written. Just as good as anything you wrote last year, even though it seems like you've leveled off a bit in terms of the actual number of reviews. (not that there's anything wrong with that, you've still written plenty this year - you just wrote a ridiculous amount in 2013)
    August 25 08:31 PM
  • SowingSeason Being completely honest I haven't been able to keep up with very many people's reviews. I only started back here in June. I'd gladly read over your most recent 2-3 and give you some pointers right now.
    August 25 08:18 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges No prob. Don't wanna waste too much more of your time, but you think that I'd have a shot at contrib this coming February?
    August 25 07:40 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Nah man, your reviews are great. But I understand. Being a staffer requires more preparation, undertaking more responsibilities, not being a ****wit too often (Necro, I'm looking at you), etc.
    August 25 07:28 PM
  • Mongi123 I just did lol no escaping now
    August 25 07:19 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Ah. Makes sense. I feel drained after 20 reviews, haha. I gotta ask you the big question, though: You gonna shoot for staff?
    August 25 07:06 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges You're too kind. Btw, you gonna do anything big for review number 110?
    August 25 07:00 PM
  • Mongi123 Oh don't get me wrong: I'm trying to think of something funny to say and jump in there haha. It's funny because judging by the new Babymetal review(seriously, when will people stop covering that?), this new sput doesn't seem to be working quite well yet.
    August 25 06:59 PM
  • Mongi123 The best part is how Judio started the thread haha
    August 25 06:51 PM
  • Mongi123 Good lord, that Community thread is a complete disaster lol
    August 25 06:51 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Thanks. I feel ya, haha.
    August 25 06:24 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Well, I apologize anyway for being a dumbass in a dumbass thread. It was all venting, though. But yeah, as much as I like Futures, I feel like he might've gone a little overboard over these past few days. That's just Futures, though, haha.
    August 25 06:09 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Well, I mean, the whole thread is literally dedicated to s***posting, so you can't be too surprised when you see how awful it is. At least Jom finally managed to find a way to get the s***posting off the review site.
    August 25 06:04 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges I have a confession: It's my fault. I spent a good hour or so posting garbage in that thread. I'm sorry I disappointed you, Atari. It's just....... I had to let it out.
    August 25 05:44 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges BUT NOW I'M SAFE IN THE EYE OF THE TORNADOOOOOOOO
    August 25 05:28 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Correct Megadeth rating, my friend.
    August 25 05:02 PM
  • evilford yeah it's pretty straight death metal so you might not be up to the point of enjoying that as much as death/thrash yet but it's one of my faves for sure
    August 23 08:35 PM
  • evilford thanks dude!!! yeah it was actually easier than I thought itd be but I'm afraid that I used up all my good ideas in that one lol
    August 23 07:33 PM
  • evilford http://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/63944/Sororicide-The-Entity/#lastpost :]
    August 23 12:41 AM
  • thelastsignal Haha I was just looking at tattoo flashes and I came across it lol. Glad to hear that you're digging more the second time around! It's definitely something to immerse yourself in.
    August 22 09:32 PM
  • Keyblade Damn that's a tough one, I'd say they're about equal for me
    August 22 01:03 AM
  • thelastsignal Bummmer dude lol. It is kind of dense and it took me a few listens to really get into it.
    August 21 09:33 PM
  • thelastsignal Haha hell yeah man! Those are some strong comparisons!
    August 21 03:40 PM
  • Judio! Will do, man! Been needing more metal in my life lately anyway.
    August 21 03:30 PM
  • thelastsignal Sweet dude, sounds good. Songs are very long (only six of them, around 50 minutes in length), but it's one of those albums that qualify as an "experience" type of active listening.
    August 21 03:20 PM
  • thelastsignal Nice man! Excited for you, some people dig and others don't because it's not kvlt lol. I think you'll like it!
    August 21 03:02 PM
  • manosg No worries man, I've been through worst stuff, haha. And yeah there's so much turmoil in the world right now. Oh since we're in the subject, what's going on in Missouri? I saw a youtube video today with the police shooting a black man right in the middle of the street. Very disturbing stuff.
    August 21 02:29 PM
  • manosg The s*** that I mentioned before comes mainly from the economic situation in Greece that is taking its toll on us on a personal level as well. We pay ridiculously high taxes and on the same time people don't have money to pay for their obligations. It's a ****ed up situation actually and I'm not optimistic as to when things will get better here.
    August 21 02:02 PM
  • manosg Oh yeah, I remember you telling me in the past that you wanted to move in a new house. Glad for you man! Yeah, the countryside is great and mostly for people like us who have lived in the city for so many years. You learn to appreciate the little things in life.
    August 21 01:58 PM
  • thelastsignal Thanks dude. It might not hit the same way, but I love the style they have anyway so I'm sure I will really dig it.
    August 21 12:40 PM
  • thelastsignal Hell yeah, I was going to save it for my 50th, but I tried to write a soundoff in the meantime and it wouldn't let me because it was too long. I just said screw it and wrote a full review for it now.
    August 21 12:18 PM
  • thelastsignal Hey dude, reviewed Oh, Common Life. Check it when you get a chance.
    August 21 10:07 AM
  • manosg Hey man, I'm trying to cope with a fair amount of s*** lately but I try to manage, haha. Apart from that, life is mostly good when you live in the countryside. How about you man?
    August 21 03:36 AM
  • thelastsignal Yeah, Becoming is soo good lol. In the Absence of Light is strong as well, but let me know what you think of Becoming if you check it.
    August 20 12:57 PM
  • thelastsignal I will definitely check then. Have you ever listened to Abigail Williams?
    August 20 12:12 PM
  • thelastsignal Got distracted with the new Panopticon last night, but have you heard that? It's pretty ****ing awesome.
    August 20 11:39 AM
  • ExplosiveOranges Don't sweat it. I'm actually probably gonna post another review tomorrow, and after I hit twenty, I might lay low for a little while.
    August 19 07:14 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Thanks, man. It's good to know I have your support.
    August 19 06:40 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Yeah, well, being here for 6 years probably takes a toll on you. Sure, Sowing and Dev can shake it off, but if you've just been a user here for 5 years, maybe you would become a little bitter after a while.
    August 19 06:11 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges witchxrapist. A longtime user of this website whose name is both lol-worthy and immature. He basically disagreed with one sentence in my review and (likely) decided to neg.
    August 19 05:49 PM
  • thelastsignal A song here or there, but nothing that I remember; it'll be like the first time haha.
    August 19 05:23 PM
  • thelastsignal Sounds good man. Yeah I am definitely on a pop punk binge lately. Tonight is the night for The Wonder Years though haha.
    August 19 05:12 PM
  • thelastsignal Will check the other Fireworks and Man Overboard albums! So much new music for me recently lol
    August 19 12:51 PM
  • thelastsignal Okay, so Oh, Common Life is really growing on me lol.
    August 19 10:18 AM
  • thelastsignal Dude, yes! It's so freaking solid all the way through. I love the drums on it, and Son of a Gun is a definite highlight.
    August 18 07:46 PM
  • thelastsignal I've only heard Oh, Common Life so I will have to get on that. Have you heard Search the City?
    August 18 07:08 PM
  • thelastsignal Yeah, the vocals are what I'm iffy on right now. Love the lyrics and instrumentals.
    August 18 06:34 PM
  • thelastsignal I love State Champs, and Neck Deep are pretty fun as well. I'm still undecided on Fireworks lol.
    August 18 06:07 PM
  • thelastsignal You remember correctly, man. I will definitely check it tonight, love NFG. I have also been listening to State Champs, Neck Deep, and Fireworks today. It's been a pop-punk past few days for me haha.
    August 18 03:30 PM
  • Hawks Good deal broski. m/
    August 15 05:27 PM
  • evilford that's the best m//////////
    August 15 04:53 PM
  • evilford awesome man, yeah that is really one of my faves. the riffs just slice and the guy's vox are sinister as f***
    August 15 04:31 PM
  • Judio! lol strangely enough I actually dig The Residents quite a bit now. And yeah man the new Panopticon album kicks serious ass. Although I didn't dig the album at first it's grown a lot on me and it's probably one of my favorite albums of the year now. Still kind of teetering between a 4 and a 4.5 though.
    August 15 01:09 PM
  • Judio! I did it Atari, I listened to Eskimo by The Residents. All I can is that, if I'm unable to sleep tonight, I know which reviewer to blame ;)
    August 15 01:42 AM
  • Hawks **** just saw you had Adramelech rated.... Oh well lol.
    August 14 11:50 PM
  • Hawks Happened to see yours and Ford's convo about Finnish dm on his page. You def gotta check Adramelech and Demilich if you haven't and also Hooded Menace and Stench of Decay for some more modern, but still filthy newer Finnish dm.
    August 14 11:47 PM
  • evilford yeah sweet, I bet you'd dig funebre then too. little more raw but still similar finnish style
    August 14 02:24 PM
  • evilford yeah I gotcha. I'm excited for you dude, it's such a rich genre, I hope you enjoy it!
    August 14 01:41 PM
  • evilford awesome!!!! m/ shadow's list is great too but that's a lot of less obvious stuff that isn't as "essential" per se as a lot of stuff on my list...imo at least. it's great stuff too but that'd be like jumping a few steps ahead of yourself
    August 14 12:29 PM
  • evilford hey dude, made a few adjustments to the dm list fyi, if you were gonna check some of those out there's a few new ones on there. in my rush of creating the list I forgot a few :P
    August 14 11:54 AM
  • evilford thanks man. would be nice but w/e I've come to terms with the fact that they're never gonna feature any of my lists lol. can't blame them a whole lot, dm is not popular (even on sput, relatively speaking) and my lists are usually one-dimensional, but we'll see
    August 13 04:36 PM
  • evilford haha. thanks dude m/
    August 13 04:23 PM
  • evilford I suck at descriptions, plus that's kind of been done a lot. I'm on a dm perma-binge so eventually I'll have heard most of it. think at some point I'm gonna make a list of the top 100 dm albums with less than 50 ratings
    August 12 02:52 PM
  • thelastsignal Thanks man, I appreciate that. It will definitely be personal, that's for sure. We shall see how it turns out.
    August 12 02:36 PM
  • evilford ah yeah, sweet album. when you get a chance, check out that album by electrocution. it's pretty thrashy, honestly one of my fav dm albums.
    August 12 01:58 PM
  • evilford :D have you heard electrocution - inside the unreal?
    August 12 01:39 PM
  • thelastsignal Yeah, it was really rough. He was my inspiration and sounding-board on all things life-related. I got my love of music from him though, and it's the best gift anyone has ever given me. I will probably write my 50th review in his honor, even though it's a goofy thing to do.
    August 12 01:26 PM
  • thelastsignal I really want to see it, didn't know about it before. My father passed away from lymphoma (which is very similar in terms of symptoms and what you go through), and listening to some of McMahon's songs with my dad at that point is something that I cherish.
    August 12 01:01 PM
  • thelastsignal I haven't seen the movie, how is it?
    August 12 12:11 PM
  • thelastsignal They are a slightly more progressive (using that term very loosely lol) August Burns Red. I think you will dig it.
    August 12 12:11 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Robin Williams is dead T_T
    August 11 10:58 PM
  • thelastsignal Sweet, brother! I appreciate it!
    August 11 10:56 PM
  • thelastsignal I checked out the one that came out this year. It was very good, epic-sounding with plenty of atmosphere. I heard a bit of similarity, but I really liked it on its own anyway. You heard of Forevermore?
    August 11 10:56 PM
  • Judio! Sure man, no rush
    August 11 10:51 PM
  • Judio! Yo Aaron, just wrote a review for the new Saor album if you want to check out. I know you enjoyed that album so I thought you might be interested in reading it.
    August 11 07:55 PM
  • thelastsignal Hey dude, listening to Insomnium; it is awesome so far.
    August 11 12:10 AM
  • ExplosiveOranges I can easily see why :)
    August 10 05:15 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges I bought Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band today.
    August 9 07:21 PM
  • Mister Twister dude you need to check out Tantara
    August 9 04:50 AM
  • thelastsignal Dude no worries on that, thanks for checking it out! I appreciate the praise!
    August 8 12:24 PM
  • thelastsignal Posted that Wovenwar review if you want to check it man!
    August 8 12:05 AM
  • ExplosiveOranges I have actually never written a negative review before.
    August 7 05:46 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges *double-o. ****ing autocorrect.
    August 7 04:56 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges I plan to review one of my favorite albums for the big double-I, and one of my least favorite albums for review number 101.
    August 7 04:55 PM
  • evilford yeah man it's awesome m/
    August 7 04:45 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Are you ready for a cheesy-ass monologue? Thought so. When I first came here, I was just some guy who really liked heavy metal music and loved writing. So, I put them together, and posted my first review on April 21st of this year. Three months later, I've contributed 14 more reviews to the site, formed bonds with countless users, and expanded beyond into almost every other genre of music. And it's because of guys like you. So, thank you, Atari.
    August 7 04:23 PM
  • evilford hey dude, any infernal majesty albums worth checking out beyond their first one?
    August 7 04:11 PM
  • thelastsignal Yeah dude! Second best song on there after Pay Phones and Pills. One of best and most epic instrumental songs ever.
    August 7 03:06 PM
  • evilford right on just razzin ya hehe
    August 7 01:26 PM
  • evilford sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet. I'm tellin ya, sooner or later incantation will NOT let you down ;]
    August 7 12:25 PM
  • evilford awesome dude lol. yeah it was an album that hit me right away but the full genius of it took years to grasp, the beauty is in the simplicity, it just effortlessly personifies death metal without getting complicated or fancy and then riffs harder than steel the whole way thru
    August 7 11:57 AM
  • thelastsignal I will definitely be writing it soon, maybe tonight. I just think that their formula wears a little thin through 15 tracks; if they had cut it down to the best 10-12 songs it would have been better for me.
    August 7 11:50 AM
  • thelastsignal Yeah man, I will probably end up reviewing it. It would be a 4 for me if it wasn't so damn long lol.
    August 7 11:36 AM
  • thelastsignal Listening to Wovenwar, and it is pretty good stuff so far. I'm digging it. Shane's vocals are top notch on it.
    August 6 09:52 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Lol, I figure Dev is the main authority on dubstep, but he's busy getting s*** done, so I will have to rely on the Sputnik charts for now. Let's see...... Skrillex is on the list. DAMMIT.
    August 6 09:16 PM
  • Judio! Yeah man the album kicked ass. My friend's been trying to get me into the wonder years for so long now, I'd probably make her day if I listened to them haha
    August 6 09:15 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges I jammed early Ulver, but never really got into their stuff. I mean, I do have a couple electronic jams (Ben Frost, Todd Terje), but I hunger for dubstep.
    August 6 07:54 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Honestly, I've been looking for good electronic stuff recently, but I don't know if that's your thing, lol.
    August 6 07:14 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Really good stuff. Any other big digs so far?
    August 6 05:53 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges That's a toughie, but so far I really like Grapefruit, Our Apartment, Divorce and the American South, and a few others.
    August 6 04:28 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges New Aaron West and The Roaring Twenties is sooooo good.
    August 6 02:47 PM
  • thelastsignal Not yet, but I will probably look for a download of it tonight after work because I am really anxious to hear it. I will let you know for sure, and probably review it depending on what I can come up with.
    August 6 01:45 PM
  • thelastsignal Definitely need more melodeath, so if you have other recs I would love them! I will check out Insomnium, excited to hear them.
    August 5 03:27 PM
  • thelastsignal I like Undoing Ruin quite a bit, I just haven't spent as much time with it as I have the other releases. I feel like the melodeath influence is pretty big on all releases up until the new one, but it's much more prevalent on Hidden Hands; which is the sound I love (other bands did the metalcore/melodeath combo really well like older With Dead Hands Rising, The Red Death's first album). I keep forgetting to check Insomnium, will do that soon if it's similar for sure.
    August 5 01:43 PM
  • thelastsignal They're both amazing haha, Deliver Us slightly edges it out with a little more variety. The Eternal Return also has some amazing songs on it as well.
    August 5 01:22 PM
  • thelastsignal Dude, yes. It's my 2nd favorite DH (behind Deliver Us), and in my top ten favorite albums.
    August 5 12:38 PM
  • thelastsignal Hell yeah man, I really dig ambient, one my favorite genres to explore in.
    August 5 12:24 PM
  • thelastsignal Actually, only clean vocals metalcore sounds pretty interesting lol. I will definitely check soon.
    August 3 08:08 PM
  • thelastsignal Also, just wanted to say that I love many bands that only have clean vocals haha. I've been on a metal kick lately, but wovenwar sounds interesting.
    August 3 06:32 PM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot Hey Atari, I reviewed Bellows - Blue Breath and I've been reccing it to people here and there, def check it out. Kinda lo-fi folk/pop kinda project. Great stuff though
    August 2 07:03 PM
  • thelastsignal Yeah man, not a whole album though. I've seen them live as well, and they were great. What's their best album?
    August 1 05:30 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Eh, true. It sucks that you can't use the radio player on mobile. You can sync it with Spotify and iTunes, though.
    July 31 08:29 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Lol, I understand. Just out of curiosity, why don't you have a last.fm?
    July 31 08:17 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Those Overkill 3s are breaking my heart, man.
    July 31 08:02 PM
  • Judio! I'll definitely jam them man, Pop punk is a genre I'm barely familiar with so I'm totally not opposed to trying it now. Appreciate the recs as always my friend.
    July 31 07:46 PM
  • Judio! I see you're taking advantage of my recent lust for recs ;). I'll check those albums out soon.
    July 31 07:08 PM
  • Judio! Sounds good, I'll definitely check them. Been trying really hard lately to get into more stuff so I'm down for trying pretty much anything. Any idea which album by them I should start with?
    July 31 06:55 PM
  • Judio! Even though it never snows where I live, I'll still jam them. Are they wintery like Agalloch or completely different?
    July 31 06:43 PM
  • Judio! Ok, I might wait a bit to listen to the rest of Darkspace's stuff then. And no I haven't listened to paysage d'hiver yet
    July 31 06:34 PM
  • Judio! Are all the Darkspace albums pretty much the same thing? If not I'd be down for giving another one of their albums a jam.
    July 31 06:26 PM
