 | lately naw jk im just messing with you, im new here
 | JamieTwort It's only a possibility I might not leave when it comes it to it and if I do it won't be for a while yet.
 | EaglesBecomeVultures yup, still here. i have a bunch of friends that live in cedar rapids. might have to hit you up next time i make it down there.
 | cagedescending werrrrrrrd son. i hadn't listened to it in years and then decided to randomly jam it again the other week and have since come to the conclusion that those years in between were p. much wasted. s***'s transcendent, the lyrics and solos make me hard queef. probably helps that i'm reading Thus Spoke Zarathustra and watching a lot of Dawkins/Hitchens on youtube lately, they all go hand in hand lol. gettin my overman on
 | VlacDrac Even the My Generation cover is awesome.
 | VlacDrac I agree, they have a lot of awesome albums, even the new ones are good, like The Bride Scream Murder, at first I didn't like it but it grew on me.
 | VlacDrac I see you gave Bullhead a 4.5, that album is my favorite Melvins album.
 | YoYoMancuso 3.5 = great bro. But Houdini is really strong up until the last 3 songs then it loses me
 | JamieTwort Yeah, they've got a really unique sound, I dig it. Definitely need to check out more of their stuff at some point.
 | JamieTwort Hey man, yes I've heard Bath and I really liked it. I need to listen to maudlin more actually, Bath is the only album of theirs I've heard.
 | MrElmo I saw your comment on the Godflesh EP, as a godflesh fan myself I decided to make this site better, the EP finally has a review!
 | YoYoMancuso check my recent last.fm plays just air-riffed to Holy Mountain for an hour
 | YoYoMancuso what's some other good sludge i should check out? it would probably be one of my fav genres if i heard more of it, already planning on jamming some Melvins tonight.
 | demigod93 at the very least check this track: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3EqSdaKe8v8album cover screams early 90s scandinavian dm too
 | demigod93 killer stuff man, reminds me a lot of the classic dm bands (entombed, dismember, demigod and convulse especiallly), tons of dark and evil atmosphere and killer riffs. think you'd dig it pretty hard
 | demigod93 hey man did you check that Krypts album that came out earlier this year?
 | ViralOblivion Lots of stuff it's summer so it's been classic metal, punk and hip hop I made a list about it
 | YoYoMancuso also in Aeon those screams at the beginning. "BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!"
 | YoYoMancuso I'll probs start with Eye Of Every Storm, been real obsessed with the band lately. Strength Of Fates is ridinkydonkey
 | YoYoMancuso i've only heard Through Silver In Blood and it really swept me off my feet. What should I get next?
 | Atari alright cool i won't bug you again then :P
 | Atari well if you like it even half as much as i did you won't regret it although at this point i've probably overhyped it for you lol
 | Atari listen to black widow - sacrifice godamnit lol there's a full stream for it on youtube
 | Atari haha yeah he is. i'll be fine though for every user who seems to have a problem with me there are cool ones like you and jamietwort m/
 | Atari basically i'm not gonna take troll bait anymore is what i'm saying i guess haha
 | Atari lol that just shows you're not on the site as much as me. i don't go looking for arguments but yeah i've gotten into it with alachlahol or malleus or pit, etc. but i don't go looking for fights they usually start it ;)
 | Atari yeah i don't doubt it lol but i'm gonna do my best to not argue with users anymore and focus a little more on just reviewing/talking about music.
 | Atari thanks man i appreciate it. People have been surprisingly supportive so far
 | Atari yep i did : ) on wednesday
 | Wizard Who's in your avatar? Looks like Tom Warrior from Celtic Frost.
 | Hawks Second best dm band ever.
 | pissbore youre gonna kick yourself for waiting so long once you embrace the riffs
 | pissbore I won't be able to sleep at night until you've heard it so plz do so asap
 | pissbore Just google grotesque thrashmania80
 | pissbore Idk but I can give you a link for the dl
 | pissbore yea so listen to grotesque immediately
 | Havey yeah i joined last.fm a couple of months ago but started using it very recently, sweet stuff
 | Havey damn why the ratings wipe?
 | Chortles Good to see you're really diving into prog man p/
 | pissbore captain beyond s/t is the greatest album ever agreed
 | JamieTwort Oh and Yes - Close to the Edge of course but something tells me you might have already heard that one. Also, Strawbs - Grave New World.
 | JamieTwort Hey man, good to hear. Yeah sure, here's some off the top of my head (you may have heard some of these already): Camel - Moonmadness, King Crimson - Red, Genesis - Selling England by the Pound (I personally prefer The Lamb but this one might be a better starting point), Steve Hackett - Voyage of the Acolyte, Caravan - If I Could Do It All Over Again..., Supertramp - Crime of the Century, Van Der Graaf Generator - Godbluff.
 | Jom All good, cheers.
 | CaptainDooRight album is done: http://trvth.bandcamp.com/album/black-horse-plague
 | ViperAces just edit it through the reviews, with f12 and s***
 | Hawks Lol without a doubt.
 | Hawks Hahaha it's definitely crazy stuff. I think it's awesome that you can tell how psychotic Nattramn is just by listening to it.
 | Hawks I don't see any Ash Borer in your ratings. Go look at the list I just posted and get everything on it lol.
 | ViperAces yea, it sounded really similar to converge, shouldve said i dont enjoy mathcore at all. its way too obscure for me
 | ViperAces ive actually checked some of that botch album, and im not liking it at all:/ sorry maybe im not ready for 'that' yet
 | pissbore http://plug.dj/springbreak666/ come jam bro
 | conesmoke you're crazy man.i like you... but you're crazy
 | conesmoke what you mean cone 2013? i'm not breakingthe****?
 | Hawks Apollyon and Carl-Michael Eide are the main forces behind the band so they have to rule hard.
 | Hawks Hell yeah Taake's first 3 albums are ace, haven't heard the most recent 2 though. As for Aura Noir, I've heard bits and pieces years ago, but never really got into them too much. Guess I'll have to do that.
 | Hawks Eh I feel you. Summoning isn't the easiest band to get into haha.
 | Hawks Only a 3 for Stronghold? :[
 | Atari ha thanks man i actually did apply for contributor this time but no such luck. Somebody else did get contrib tho and they've written a total of 8 reviews i was like WTF lol. but it made me realize it's quality over quantity i mean there are a lot of writers who are better than me. I appreciate the compliment though
 | pissbore and of course WFIKTBD when you really want to experience transcendence
 | ViralOblivion Yeah idk if I like it more than their debut only time will tell
 | pissbore check out gardens of grief when you are ready to have your life changed again
 | Chortles saw your post in altars thread, i've been a bad boy :[ haven't listened to neurosis.. but in all fairness, i haven't downloaded anything in a long while so that's mostly why. but the next time i do go on a dl spree (i will soon inevitably), neurosis and isis are first man
 | Atari Haha I'm in the same boat man I didn't know very much good music until I joined Sputnik. And there's nothing wrong with just discussing music and learning about new bands.
 | Atari That's cool man reviewing isn't for everybody I've just grown really passionate about it.
 | Atari Sabbat not sabot lol
 | Atari Yeah I wasn't expecting them to feature the list lol so thought that might make your day...especially if somebody actually reviews grave and sabot. I'm down to review one too if there aren't enough volunteers hehe
 | Atari I added sabbat and grave as albums that need reviews on that list ;)
 | JamieTwort Sup dude, glad you dig it. Yeah the riffs slay. I need to check out the demo.
 | mindleviticus lol haha, deathprod would fall under the "Other" category I guess. But that is equally as valid I guess!
 | mindleviticus eh it's like dark ambient so it doesn't really count. it has to be pure electronic. try out aphex twin for some really entry level stuff
 | mindleviticus I get ya haha. Haven't heard 1 legit electronic album??! Well you should find one!
 | mindleviticus I'm more of the electronic guy if you know what I mean, but m/ m/m/m/m/m/m/m/ ****ing LOVE METAL
 | mindleviticus lol the boxes are symbols that sputnikmusic can't understand unfortunately :[ and yeah I love bm need to listen to more of it
 | mindleviticus Okay the album title for Arckanum is a bunch of p like symbols you can probably find it on the metalarchives or check out Arckanum's album Kostogher instead :]
 | mindleviticus check out these three: Murmuure - Murmuüre (you might like it a lot, very hazey bm)Akercocke - Words That Go Unspoken, Deeds That Go Undone (blackened dm)Arckanum - ÞÞÞÞÞÞÞÞÞÞÞ (90'sish bm :])
 | mindleviticus So I see you're getting into black metal. how's that going for ya?
 | MichaelSnoxall I feel it's very underrated in their discography. It's got so many great Dolan vocal/lyrical hooks and it has some of the best Immo riffs. Hernandez's drumming isn't as good as Smilowski's drumming on the first two albums, but he steps up his game on Close to a World Below.
 | pissbore dude if you want some sweet ass french heavy metal check out blaspheme - desir de vampyr
 | pissbore yeah trust me early atg exist entirely in a realm of their own... some of the most unique metal ever created
 | pissbore yo bro you should check out at the gates - the red in the sky is ours
 | Hawks Lol well I have periods where I'll listen to a mixture of metal and then times where I'll listen to like 98% dm for weeks. But yeah, listened to Cross the Styx and it's an easy 4.5. Definitely gotta get on Diabolical Summoning and Hate.
 | Hawks Yeah dude for sure. I've been on a huge dm kick the past couple of days. Jamming some Sinister right now.
 | Hawks I never listened to them before I heard Solarfall and I'm kinda kicking myself in the ass for it. It's one of my favorites of the year so far for sure. I'll give you the link.
 | Hawks Dude you should definitely listen to the new Hate album. It's so damn good.
 | DeathPiercedMe yeah dude btw im just baiting michael for the lulz im not actually being mean to him
 | DeathPiercedMe Sup bro im rewriting my shadows in the light review hard cuz it wasnt good enough hard and the album really grew on me hard so its now more like a 4/4.5 hard instead of a 3.5 hard that i gave it last time i reviewed it hard m/ dei or die
 | Voivod I would advise you to gradually get them all, I like them all more or less, but if I would be obligated to prioritize the purchases I would say go for Phobos first, then Negatron, then War and Pain, then Rrroooaaarrr, then Katorz, then Voivod and then Infini.
 | CrimsonLies finally got around to listening to Darkthrone, awesome stuff m/
 | SpiritCrusher2 great! I'd submit it myself, but I didn't know how to since I've never even tried it before. thanks to you, I found out how when I saw your shout, it was right next to it haha
 | CrimsonLies Alright man, I'll check that out after A Blaze in the Northern Sky and Under a Funeral Moon, thanks!
 | CrimsonLies Well then you won't have any problem with me bugging you now and then, haha. I don't talk to enough people here to rec anything, but who knows; maybe one day I can rec something to the great evilford haha. Oh I meant when you said "and funebre" was there supposed to be another band recommendation before the "and" or you were just continuing from the last message? Anyway no biggie, thanks man.
 | CrimsonLies Cheers, I'll check them all out. I've heard of a few Immolation songs, not sure if it's my thing but it definitely needs a proper listen. I do really like Death though, I'm surprised by the lack of metalheads I know that have never heard of the band.............All I need is to be pointed in the right direction so thanks for getting my started, haha.Just wondering but did the first part of your message go?
 | CrimsonLies I'll definitely check it out then man, thanks. Ah I see, well then I better get on and listen to some Death! Do you have any other bands you think I should check out? Anything atmospheric but I'm open to anything really, like I said, I need more black and death metal
 | CrimsonLies By the way, I downloaded Death - Symbolism quiet some time but it was the re-mastered version. In case you've heard both, would you recommend me to listen to the original first? I've heard some re-mastered albums from various bands and sometimes they don't turn out very well. Anyways, thanks for the rec, appreciate it man.
 | CrimsonLies Cheers for the recs man and I figured some of the album ratings seemed questionable. Yeah it's kind of easy to tell that I do, haha. I'll give it a listen first and then move on to their other albums. I honestly need to start listening to black metal and death metal again, I've got so sucked into post-metal/sludge genres that it's hard to get out of, haha.
 | GiaNXGX Take a look at this album: deathprod - morals and dogma, it will change your life.
 | DeathPiercedMe Would you like any bm recs? I listen to way too much of it lol (despite hating the anti christian themes)
 | DeathPiercedMe Saw your post on that rec me your 5s list, you have some good tastes man. you a black metal listener?
 | Havey k give me a couple o minutes
 | Havey just tell me when you're online and i'll make the list
 | Havey i'll just make a quick list for you soon, hang in there
 | Titan sweet profile pic.....reminds me of the Castlevania games....
 | Insurrection Yea iirc jom said theyre just testing it on staff to see if the site can handle the changes or whatever and if it works out theyll open it up to the userbase.
 | JamieTwort Hey man, sweet glad you're liking it. Still haven't got round to checking out CoL, chances are I might dig them if they sound similar to Ancestors. I'll make sure I get round to them pretty soon.
 | Insurrection Rosa acad viper and i, its just some chrome thing where you can manually change the code of the site so we can rate stuff whatever we wanted but they fixed it now sadly
 | Insurrection Willies no fun and said if we dont change em back hes gonna wipe all our ratings
 | Hawks No problem at all my man.
 | Hawks One of my favorite bm albums ever. I'm listening to it now and I remembered you were checking out a lot of bm recently so I figured I'd ask haha. You should get on it.
 | Hawks Have you heard Melancholie by Coldworld?
 | pissbore dude you gotta check out circle the wagons its so ****ing good
 | ViralOblivion I'm just asking cause I feel like I'm still missing a few classics that I haven't heard yet
 | Chortles yeah it sucks. i've been on a steady intake of all my favorite albums for the past few weeks so hopefully that'll make me want to get new music again. the prospect in finding albums as good as them is a huge incentive
 | Chortles man i know exactly what you mean.. i was the same way until a really just a few years ago. now i'm literally jamming something every second i get it seems. i don't really have an addiction to new music though, which probably has to do with the fact that i always feel overwhelmed with stuff to listen to, so it sometimes feels like a chore to get through it all. that feels pretty wrong to say when about music, it really sucks to have the "i have to get through this so i can move on" feeling y'know
 | Chortles engineering right now but we'll see what happens, it's interesting but hard as nuts. and damn i wish i could be focused like that, it seems like i never really get sucked into a genre, it seems like i just listen to random albums most of the time. except prog i guess but that was a special case because king crimson was the first prog i'd heard and i was like holy **** i need more of this
 | Chortles Pretty good man, I'm about the same, just with school (which is kicking my dick in but that's ok I guess). Not really jamming much new stuff though atm, I just haven't really felt like it I guess
 | Chortles i see your pie finally changed lol congrats, glad to see prog on there especially ;] how've you been dude?
 | foxblood just added you on last.fm brooo
 | Pestiferous Sweet but hey even if for some gay and s***ty reason you may NOT like it, please put it in lists and rec it to other people, this needs more exposure
 | Pestiferous shoutout to the metalheads i know on the site: check Vibrion - Closed Frontiers if you want quality DM and you can say you like something obscure :DD
 | Pestiferous i can't do that tbh, if an album has songs that I just won't ocme back to regardless of the good ones i'll discard the whole album. I'm an album person, not a song person
 | Pestiferous Its been a while for me, but last time I listened to it I remember liking it yeah
 | pissbore if you like celtic frost you will ****ing love it man
 | pissbore have you heard panzerfaust yet?
 | pissbore bro you need to come jam with us sometime
 | Hyperion1001 aw damn, i completely forgot to send you those. um check out: Abhoth - Forever to be Vanished Therein : Depravity - Remasquerade : Excavation - Gravemouth : Morgue - Eroded Thoughts : Dark Millennium - The Apocryphal Wisdom : Cenotaph - Gloomy Reflections of our Hidden Sorrow : Torchure - Beyond the Veil : Sororicide - The Entity : Sorcery - Bloodchilling Tales : Transgressor - Ether for Scapegoat : Utumno - Across the Horizon
 | Atari Oops did that backwards ha .. m/
 | Atari Yeah I need to hear they debut but dreamweaver is fantastic :)
 | Atari Dude u were right on the money about sabbat they ****ing rule
 | Hawks I listened to Manic Impressions again since you mentioned it the other day and I like it more than I remembered. So thank you lol.
 | 70sPriestIsBetter check it out i reviewed abominations finally http://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/54595/Morbid-Angel-Abominations-of-Desolation/
 | Hawks Holy **** does Dreamweaver rule.
 | Hawks I actually found it, and a bunch of other albums I was looking for. Seems as though 4shared is going to be the new Mediafire for me haha.
 | Hawks Ahhhh damn, it's all good bud. I haven't been able to find links for any of the albums I wanted to download today haha.
 | Hawks Haha good idea. And is there any way you could send me a link for Dreamweaver by Sabbat? I've been looking for the past half hour and can't find one that works.
 | Hawks This MetalMan97 guy seems like a really big retard. If he's not trolling that is.
 | MetalMan97 Geez dude, you're an asshole, lay off elitist.
 | Atari glad to see you're digging torture m/
 | 70sPriestIsBetter Willie's reason for banning me:"You knocked an alt/indie discussion off the front page with some of that metal s***. Instaban I'll unban you now, though. Just respect the whine and skinny jeans."
 | Atari no rush i got a little excited there lol but Dio is probably my favorite metal vocalist.
 | Atari oh one more thing, not sure if you like black sabbath but mob rules and heaven and hell were dio not ozzy and they also rule
 | Atari Ronnie James Dio is one of the best metal vocalists of all time ugh listen to holy diver, the last in line, and also listen to rainbow -rising (also dio)
 | Atari !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 | Atari i had a feeling you might say that lol. they are definitely underappreciated though IMO. but yeah def check helloween sometime if you like dio or power metal. i haven't heard much power metal but after hearing helloween i think i'm gonna change that. really doesn't sound much different than dio or iron maiden: just a really epic feel with priest/maiden type vocals
 | Atari that's an impossible question lol but i'm definitely on an anthrax kick right now do you like them? Joey Belladonna is one of my favorite metal/thrash vocalists. Also really digging Helloween right now wasn't expecting them to be soo good but their old stuff is amazing kind of reminds of of a mix between Dio and Iron Maiden check out keeper of the seven keys part 1 if you haven't heard it.
 | Atari By the way even if I don't have last fm. you could always just ask me what i've been listening to lol
 | Atari i know it's a bit excessive lol and i definitely will man
 | Atari to be honest i can find most thrash albums on my phone though damn near everything except for sabbat lol
 | Atari Either my IPods (I have 3 of them), my CDs or streams on YouTube. I have YouTube on my phone but the selection isn't as good as a comp which is prolly why I haven't found sabbat.
 | Atari damn that sounds fun but i'm not sure my boss would even let me download itunes on my computer at work lol. you tube is blocked and everything that's why i can't find sabbat on my phone!!!
 | ViralOblivion no but i dont use any music programs that sync with it
 | Atari hmm maybe i'll get it sometime..i'm honestly just too lazy to get it set up and stuff lol. So you can program it so it reads what albums you listen to even if it's CD's not just the last fm radio?
 | Atari unfortunately no i do not. I tried to get it on my phone and it was a pain in the ass. I'm guessing you really like it?
 | JamieTwort Sabbat, Coroner and Anacrusis are probably in my top 10. I find it much harder pick my top thrash bands than I would my favourite thrash albums cos a lot of really good thrash bands only released 2 or 3 awesome albums, like Annihilator or Sepultura for example. You could say that Exhorder only released one really good album but Slaughter in the Vatican is so ****ing good they have be up there with my favourites.
 | JamieTwort At the moment I'd say it's: Heathen, Death Angel, Exhorder, Realm, Sacred Reich. It's almost impossible for me to list my all time favourite 5 but if I did Heathen would definitely be number 1 and Death Angel would definitely be in there too.
 | pissbore yeah man it's hard work bumping real m/ threads all the time esp when nobody even notices usually
 | pissbore damn sucks hes gone then, not enough true metalheads left on this site to defend the faith
 | Chortles definitely man. i agree i don't really affiliate artists with their music, considering there are a lot of musicians that are dicks, but it really is nice when you do come across ones that are genuinely good people. i think it kind of enhances their music. i mean even if chuck was a terrible dude, i'd dig death, but i think since i appreciate him as a person, it just makes it more... i donno, personable perhaps
 | Chortles he really is, he's become somewhat of a figure of fascination for me. he seems like he was just a really great, genuine guy. i think it's really cool how much he loves nature and life and such despite rap that death metal musicians get for being satanists and such. and on top of that being a genius y'know.
 | Chortles man... i haven't been addicted to an album in a while like i'm addicted to symbolic. i've hardly gone a day without listening to it since i first started. sorry i just feel like you're the one i should on this lol
 | sustainthesatan yeah i guess dude thanks. Im not gonna be commenting at all for a few weeks lol because i dont want banning xD and if dev catches me with a new account = insta ban cuz Dev abuses his power
 | pissbore i'm not new i've just been gone for awhile
 | pissbore nope. i'm honestly just too lazy to get an avatar
 | JamieTwort Hey dude, their first two albums are easily their best but I'd say there's a couple of others worth listening to. Set the World on Fire and Kill the King are both good albums and are worth checking out imo. Both of those have more of a hard rock influence mixed in with the thrash sound of their first two albums. After that they get very inconsistent.
 | Chortles hehe we have, you recced that i start with eye of every storm first, so that i will. we'll see where it takes me
