  • CalculatingInfinity Aye, that's true. Have fun with those 4 Gackt albums, I don't recommend the others :]
    October 21 04:47 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity No problem :] Also good luck trying to find awesome J Rock because I've tried in the past and 99% of it was meh (e.g. Nightmare) or it stank (e.g. Alice Nine).
    October 21 02:55 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity Really glad you're loving it man, Gackt really was unstoppable in his early days and every single track Merveilles to Mars is pure gold. I don't like Malice's first, because I can't stand Tetsu. Mars is just as good as Mizerable so have fun :D.
    October 21 02:51 PM
  • Shuyin yea and they even made a live action movie but ive heard it wasnt as good. the japanese fellas make good adaptations of anime tho so it cant be that bad. rurouni kenshin had a pretty solid movie, again the nostalgia hitting hard but id be lying if i said i wasnt entertained by it. sweet, i can give SAO a try then
    October 21 02:31 PM
  • Shuyin this is the sort of anime ive grown to like over the past few years, stuff with mindless action just wont do it for me anymore unless it hits the nostalgia button or if its something really good
    October 21 02:03 PM
  • Shuyin halfway through, im really digging the room they leave for imagination to work and each story is really touching. imo it gets better with each episode because i sort of grew emotionally attached to the main character. also, that animation is just perfect for the show. at first i though the main C looked silly, but now i really love his design
    October 21 02:00 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity **** yes man :D. Gackt really is stunning on it, there a reason why he's seen as the best frontman in Japan. If you love his vox then I recommend his solo project albums 'Mizerable', 'Mars', 'Cresent' and 'Re:Born' (especally the first two).
    October 21 01:42 PM
  • Shuyin tbh i just saw a few clips and some posters, its just that i dont like the art as far as it goes. i cant talk about everything else because i honestly dont know but my kinda anime is the ghost in the shell kinda thing. berserk was a must watch because i loved the anime show back in the day. atm im watching Mushishi, food for thought at its finest
    October 21 01:04 PM
  • Shuyin havent seen it tbh, doesnt look like something id enjoy. besides, i had my share of swordplay/ fantasy anime after watching the berserk movies
    October 21 11:40 AM
  • VisionsFromTheDarkSide Bro what's the Bruma album like? Added it to the system cause it interested me but haven't got round to listening to it yet
    October 19 05:53 PM
  • Dolving999 Hey Cap! You asked me to tell you when I was done, so here ya go:
    October 19 12:20 PM
  • DarkNoctus it was because i didn't want people to associate the depressive feelings of ES with OSAS which i find to be far more positive and uplifting. i was going to announce it was me with the second record anyway and a few people worked it out regardless so it doesn't really matter that much. feel free to put it on a recc list! i'm thankful you'd want to include it!
    October 17 04:32 PM
  • DarkNoctus yay! [:
    October 17 12:20 PM
  • OmairSh
    October 16 06:50 PM
  • Funeralopolis Will do, I haven't been at clean singing long though, maybe like a month now, still pretty s*** at it but becoming a parallel incarnate of justin timberlake could be right around the corner!
    October 16 05:33 PM
  • Funeralopolis Thanks man, yea vocals are the only instrument I play. I've been doing screaming for a long time and have recently started trying to learn to clean sing. Unfortunately cus I live in a tiny thin walled apartment I can't really scream and I don't regularly practice anymore so my highs have noticeably slipped the most from their once quality of trvth.
    October 16 05:17 PM
  • Funeralopolis There we go : )
    October 16 04:50 PM
  • Jacquibim Sounds pretty mint what's it like?
    October 16 11:24 AM
  • Jacquibim not much man just had some m8s over and got high and made rosemary beef burgers it was ****in divine, listening to new beyond creation now
    October 16 11:09 AM
  • Jacquibim hey ;D
    October 16 10:53 AM
  • OmairSh Stop giving Leprous bad ratings!!! Give them time Cap, they take a while to digest, trust me on this.
    October 16 10:33 AM
  • OmairSh CaptaindooooooooooooooooooooooooNowrong
    October 16 10:30 AM
  • pedro70512 I feel like we can't take that next step in our relationship until I review an album you like. Some day it will happen.
    October 15 07:17 PM
  • DarkNoctus on track 5 now and AAHHHH OH MY GOD
    October 15 10:15 AM
  • DarkNoctus where's dat ethereal shroud rate [:
    October 15 02:35 AM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot aight man I'll take a peep
    October 13 10:34 AM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot Lol yeah. I was hoping for a feature (the band is pretty under appreciated here IMO) but ah well. This week looks kinda meh for new releases
    October 13 10:31 AM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot I'm pretty sure I got him into them with my Animal Mother review
    October 13 10:02 AM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot Ehh kinda noise/hardcore/sludge? Pretty dope though, did a review of their new one if you're interested. Willpower is their best though. I'd kill to see them live
    October 12 10:58 PM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot Yooooo Cap, ever jam Today is the Day?
    October 12 10:39 PM
  • OmairSh Big weed
    October 12 02:01 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges That attitude will get your far in life, my friend. Can't wait until Episode 2.
    October 12 05:48 AM
  • PortalofPerfection The fact that they're so nice and so responsive to their fans and to me is definitely a contributing factor to my obsession with them lol. Anyway, sorry for the rant, will see you out of the review comments.
    October 12 02:45 AM
  • PortalofPerfection I hear you man. My favoritism runs deep. I talk to the band all the time on FB, they're all really cool guys, very communicative. They like 90% of people's post, answer almost every question we ask them, I get direct responses all the time. I talk to the bassist, Brendan Brown, through FB Messenger at least once a month, really chill dude. I know these guys are passionate about their music so it comes through really easily for me.
    October 12 02:43 AM
  • PortalofPerfection Yeah, rating it is w/e, my fault for assuming. Dat violin tho :{
    October 11 11:53 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges No problem, man. Love your music, so why not give it the attention it deserves?
    October 11 10:45 PM
  • PortalofPerfection Oh sweet, yeah when you said atmo BM they were the first band I thought of. Came to your profile and saw you didn't have Graveforests rated. The mood on that is laid down so thick it's scary. Hopefully you will like Citadel more as a whole when it finally drops. Cheers man!
    October 11 09:51 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Great work on the new Trvth album, dude. Really interesting departure from your other works. Expect a review up sometime this weekend.
    October 11 04:37 PM
  • AnimalsAsSummit i agree!!!! ive been listening non stop. i definitely find it to be a step-up from hubardo on a conceptual and emotional level. i haven't read the lyrics yet (can't find em) but im dying to, it seems like he successfully/ concocted excuted a very pure vision of his. the early 80s sci-fi/ cyberpunk vibe is unshakable throughout the whole thing, i love it :D
    October 10 10:47 PM
  • PortalofPerfection Dood, you want some great atmospheric BM? Check out Walknut. So good.
    October 10 10:18 PM
  • KjSwantko Damn Cap, that was a sweet with Harakiri for the Sky. You know my tastes bro! It was some sweet melodic doomy BM but still had plenty of regular metal tendencies. I thought the first half of the record was amazing (easy 4.5) but the second half wasn't nearly as intense. Overall still the best rec I've gotten in a while m/
    October 10 07:03 PM
  • evilford nice dark millennium ratings cappy
    October 9 11:36 AM
  • osmark86 thanks a bunch man, well appreciated compliments. of course I'll keep youd, you're one of me favourite sputbros.
    October 8 05:33 PM
  • osmark86 yeah, 100% me in my dusty ol' apartment. glad you dig it mate. ^^
    October 8 05:07 PM
  • Atari yeah bm subgenres are the tits. not saying i don't enjoy any straight up bm but the atmopsheric stuff just moves me. gonna check that other album you rec'd me on your list as well
    October 8 03:57 PM
  • Atari although i gotta say, it does drag quite a bit in spots. still a good album tho
    October 8 01:32 PM
  • Atari that Bruma album is definitely cool man. Apparentely I like the combination of black metal and shoegaze even though i know next to nothing about shoegaze lol.
    October 8 12:41 PM
  • Jacquibim I haven't listened to it yet, but I can imagine it's pretty damn good. Predicting a 3.5-4 based on the singles.
    October 7 04:51 PM
  • Jacquibim You listened to the new Horrendous yet?
    October 7 04:43 PM
  • Jacquibim return of the cockatiel
    October 7 04:39 PM

    October 7 04:36 PM
  • ResidentNihilist Filth of Mankind - The Final Chapter, basically sounds like Amebix meets Winter with other influences. Love this album see what you think
    October 7 01:34 PM
  • osmark86 already sent it. I realized I had your email saved thanks to the failed hip hop collab project ^^.
    October 7 03:24 AM
  • osmark86 I could mail you a preview if you want. don't want to share too much before the final thing is finished, but I'll make an exception for you captn. ^^
    October 7 02:12 AM
  • osmark86 sure is. got one 10min track done and hoping for inspiration to take hold for more. I'm very pleased with it so far even though it needs more tweaking/mastering.
    October 6 05:07 PM
  • osmark86 I'm mixing the two into one project my mein. the genres work together like butter n biscuits, yin n yang, tango n cash etc... you get the idea. I'll keep you posted, but I think it'll take a while. might even have my drummer friend from God Mother record real drums for it so it sounds even better than my programmed ones (it always does).
    October 6 03:10 PM
  • osmark86 sure as hell is the best hobby there is. when I'm done with 3-4 more black metal/doom songs I'm putting together an album. will defo want your opinion on it.
    October 6 11:27 AM
  • osmark86 hesus christos! another Trvth release already? blimey pints and tossers, you're work ethic is inspiring! especially considering that you're a family man. gonna give it a go as soon as I can. peace.
    October 6 05:19 AM
  • AnimalsAsSummit i read the lyrics of the last track but need to delve into the others. the lyrics in the songs that were very evidently informative "scenes" i could make out very well. and thanks so much bro!!! i think im generally just trying to get more serious about the stuff i put out; im really happy its showing. this one was my biggest endeavor since ooba, and oddly enough, similarly to what perhaps you were thinking with exude, i too wanted this album to create a sort of "place" for the listener.
    October 5 08:11 PM
  • greencorn5 In bands that I drum for I play in a straight classic rock cover band, I also play in another cover band that does songs from classic rock to current, and then I play drums in a hard rock band. In my own time I like to play my favorite stuff, portugal. the man, modest mouse, minus the bear, etc.
    October 5 08:07 PM
  • AnimalsAsSummit damn dude your latest is something else. its damn ambitious, not something ive really heard before! id say for me, this is the best work you've done since Black Horse Plague. really impressed with the cinematic/ fantasy inspired melodies you have created. the whole album was nostalgic in that i felt a bit like a kid reading a story book; really sweet stuff mang!!!
    October 4 08:02 AM
  • AnimalsAsSummit speaking of dm ive been getting into entombed bro, do you know anything else like "left hand path"? not necessarily in terms of even sounding like just it, but something with a similar level of ingenuity/ vibes going on.
    October 3 09:24 PM
  • Jacquibim If I ever get round to it I'd probably play progressive death metal and it'd have a load of neo-classical and post-rock stuff intertwined. I'm already pretty good at playing intermediate level stuff but acoustic is far too limiting in terms of technique and scope. Trem picking is pretty easy to be honest, but it sounds pretty ****ing goofy on acoustic lol.
    October 3 08:44 PM
  • Jacquibim I'm gonna get an electric guitar soon and start playing around with some drum programming so I might be putting out some stuff in a little bit, still gotta get a little more adept at guitar first but practice makes perfect
    October 3 08:30 PM
  • Jacquibim Yeah that's a lot better, tone-wise, dig your vox too
    October 3 08:20 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Will check your new album alongside the new Millicent Waffles LP.
    October 3 08:19 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Swee.
    October 3 08:07 PM
  • Jacquibim No worries man, thanks for your patience on the art :P
    October 3 07:22 PM
  • Jacquibim I'd say the one with reverb but I think the guitar tone is way too clean for dm, did you record from the amp or direct input?
    October 3 07:12 PM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot Is your new album out?
    October 3 06:47 PM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot Nm I heard you hate the cleans
    October 3 06:38 PM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot Waddup Cap
    October 3 06:34 PM
  • Jacquibim listening to the new album and i'm happy my art is affiliated with such sweet tunes -hearts-
    October 3 06:31 PM
  • AnimalsAsSummit holy s***! definitely going to check it out tonight. and yea man that 5 is humbling as ****, so pleased u were feeling it. i obsess over the fleeting uncertainty behind dreams and really just wanted to paint all these feelings through sound, so im super pleased u could get what u got from it :)
    October 3 06:08 PM
  • AnimalsAsSummit glad you're digging!!! (0-0)
    October 3 04:32 PM
  • Jacquibim :D
    October 3 03:33 PM
  • Jacquibim It's all good, the uncropped version is on dA so m/m/
    October 3 03:18 PM
  • Jacquibim that should do, I drew it with a crop in mind so yeah.
    October 3 03:08 PM
  • Jacquibim Sweet, crop it anyway you like, doesn't bother me, just credit me in the list/article/whatever you post and make sure peeps know it was done with pencils (!!) : )
    October 3 02:48 PM
  • Jacquibim Tada!! Hope you like it :D
    October 3 02:00 PM
  • greencorn5 Thanks man, I've been doing nothing but drumming lately, gotta get back into writing.
    October 3 12:59 PM
  • DarkNoctus in any case i hope you get something out of it!
    October 3 01:18 AM
  • AnimalsAsSummit holla! may the journey unfold brutha
    October 2 11:43 PM
  • DarkNoctus i'm glad you like it, thanks! i recorded/wrote the entire thing in 4 days so it turned out really great for what it was.
    October 2 04:41 PM
  • DarkNoctus indeed it is, just me.
    October 2 02:53 PM
  • Jacquibim I'm about halfway through colouring and should be done tomorrow or day after, it's looking pretty good so far :D Also have a look at this little cutie
    October 2 06:17 AM
  • AnimalsAsSummit \^^/
    October 1 05:20 PM
  • DarkNoctus the money from grimoire's bandcamp won't go to me. even if it did, don't worry, i don't care about money - just enjoy the jams. [:
    October 1 05:09 PM
  • gagnonov ahah thanks but i didn't even make the beat, i don't produce my own s*** anymore because i don't like it enough to rap over it.. sucks to be a perfectionist sometimes. but yeah anytime you're down for making music, hit me up
    October 1 05:01 PM
  • gagnonov
    October 1 04:22 PM
  • gagnonov course i do, here let me record a sample on my phone in a minute hold on
    October 1 04:05 PM
  • DarkNoctus sure! shame the tapes sold out. i do have some copies if you are desperate for one and i can push one your way if you pay postage. other than that, it's free on my personal bandcamp, but it's worth mentioning that the tape mix (the one on the grimoire cassette culture bandcamp) is better and has additional instrumentation, and it's only $3!
    October 1 03:43 PM
  • AnimalsAsSummit its like experimental/ambient. it has kind of a flowing compositional style thats pretty different from stuff ive tried in the past; avant-garde classical pieces and film scores influenced me a lot on this in terms of the song structures
    October 1 10:31 AM
  • AnimalsAsSummit thanks man! its a pretty personal one, a certain dream i had as a kid really served as the concept for the sound of the whole thing. hope it resonates hard brvh
    October 1 10:12 AM
  • DarkNoctus glad you like it! thanks!
    October 1 08:42 AM
  • DarkNoctus ;]
    October 1 08:36 AM
  • AnimalsAsSummit new album out -
    October 1 07:41 AM
  • DarkNoctus also guess who this is (ssshhh)
    September 30 11:21 PM
  • OmairSh Sorry for the delay. I checked your track once, and I really liked it man. Got some great melodies, and I enjoyed the acoustic bridge and transition. Gave the feeling of being in a forest. Coo stuff man, what can't you do Cap
    September 30 09:50 PM
  • SCREAM! Since you reviewed the album I figured you might be interested in the last link I posted in here
    September 30 04:02 PM
  • evilford yeah man it's pretty solid
    September 30 12:39 PM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot hey dude I liked your track :]
    September 30 12:13 PM
  • Deathbeds Listening to Black Horse Plague now!
    September 30 10:57 AM
  • ChoccyPhilly wow, I thought you'd like it, but I didn't think you'd like it that much. Anyway, glad to see it's getting some attention round here!
    September 29 07:05 PM
  • ChoccyPhilly Because you asked me to remind you: fun with it man!
    September 29 02:16 PM
  • Deathbeds I will tonight actually! :)
    September 29 07:58 AM
  • gagnonov few months in southeast asia just for fun with a couple friends. s*** was on POINT tho. tbh i had no idea you were trvth until about 2 days ago.. had your s*** on my to-download list lol. been composing for a jazz-folk-experimental influenced metal project lately and writing and writing and writing for new material on the hip-hop side.. lemme know son
    September 29 02:54 AM
  • DarkNoctus thank you thank you! i hope my advice is useful. and yes, yes i do! got a black metal record, the follow up to my first coming up and then the of solitude and solemn album!
    September 28 08:40 PM
  • Jacquibim Also I'm just keeping away from the site for a bit cause it's taking up too much of my time and it's full of negative vibes at the moment, hope you like the new pic anyways
    September 28 04:11 PM
  • Jacquibim hey dude, just logging back in real quick to show you the lineart for the redone picture:
    September 28 04:09 PM
  • Deathbeds I have listened to Black Horse Plague but I need to re-listen to it. That and Proverbial.
    September 28 02:02 PM
  • Voivod Well I'm not a musician, so I'm not entirely sure. But I have consumed '90s prog metal by the ton, and to be honest, I'm not too keen in listening to 10-20-minute prog songs these days, but that's just me. At the end of the day, you should ignore every opinion out there and shape your music the way you want to, in order to be 100% happy with the result.
    September 28 01:55 AM
  • gagnonov fine son, finally got back from asia, was ready to put in some work but dayummmmmm.. lemme know if you got some other projects going on, always a pleasure to work with others, be it hip-hop or metal or whatever the ****
    September 28 01:09 AM
  • gagnonov how's the hip-hop project coming along?
    September 27 11:06 PM
  • OmairSh Fo shizniz, will get back to you
    September 27 08:24 PM
  • Voivod Heard the track twice, I liked it, but see if you can shorted the duration of the track without losing in essence. That's just me, though.
    September 27 06:23 PM
  • ChoccyPhilly I thought your track was solid and I don't think I can give you any feedback that hasn't already been said, but I'll try. I thought that the drum work could be a bit more varied; for a prog song, it seemed a bit too monotonous. I also thought that the quiet section could have used some ambient textures to beefen up the atmosphere a bit or even add a field recording - would have made it a lot more peaceful and powerful. Other than that, i think everything's been said.
    September 27 03:35 PM
  • Relinquished if u put in the work and spread your material more maybe u can land on help
    September 27 01:47 PM
  • pedro70512 Cool, I'll give it a close listen this afternoon. And don't tell anyone, but I don't actually axe. The new Taravana stuff is all done on my keyboard :P
    September 27 12:18 PM
  • Shuyin yea, i can see how that works specially since you dig going for new experimental stuff. im still trying to find my own sound, im really happy when someone tells me that i have a distinct style. now i just gotta make it sound good while keeping the identity of each track unique. fun thing about music is that, its like space exploration! even when you think youve got it all down, theres always so much to learn and improve.. and knowing that theres so much to explore makes it bittersweet
    September 27 10:47 AM
  • DarkNoctus i liked the prominent bass too. work on the placement of cymbals because it's where a lot of impact comes from and you want them at the most impactful parts, like where the drums first come in. rethink the acoustics as i just don't think they worked. good work though! [:
    September 27 10:24 AM
  • DarkNoctus i will be as honest as possible but don't fret, i did like it overall! [: i liked the melodic leads guitar, shame they sounded too mechanical. placement of the cymbals felt a little off at times. i didn't feel like the acoustic section added anything at all and even though it was nicely composed it didn't match the rest of it. we suddenly went from what sounded like melodic death metal instrumentation to acoustics and it just felt very forced.
    September 27 10:23 AM
  • beefshoes Thanks man, and yeah, I made downloading an option on bandcamp!I think Chill of November was when I was finally getting the hang of mixing and cohesive songwriting, but I definitely agree with you on the drums, My favorite track on there is probably Bare en Aande , but I mixed the vocals incredibly low on it for some reason. It irks me so much because I slaved over the instrumentation. aha I'm glad you dug it though. Do you have a bandcamp account?
    September 27 09:32 AM
  • DecayingMajesty Good stuff man :)
    September 27 03:18 AM
  • bach nice job with the new track man. v cool stuff
    September 26 11:09 PM
  • Shuyin will do, thanks man. wont be posting anything for awhile since ive also burned out of fresh ideas and tbh i dont wanna be rehashing the same stuff
    September 26 10:27 PM
  • Wizard When I get a moment, I will definitely rip it to shreds ; )
    September 26 10:17 PM
  • BMDrummer aight shweet, look forward to hearing all 3!
    September 26 09:55 PM
  • BMDrummer no problem man, love helping others out with music they make. if this means another release soon, i'll be waiting happily :]
    September 26 09:48 PM
  • BMDrummer oh yeah man no problem, i just mean that they sound a little hollow and lack resonance. i'm not saying you need reverb or anything, it just sounds pretty treble-y, like it doesn't breathe.
    September 26 09:41 PM
  • BMDrummer mainly the drums, which sounded a little cold in the recording. other than that most of it seemed pretty good
    September 26 09:37 PM
  • BMDrummer great work as always cap, the transition was very nice and the guitar work was excellent for the whole song. very proggy and bm influenced of course, but i would favor better production since it seems like it kind of lacks a bit of that punch. all in all though, it's definitely a great song
    September 26 09:01 PM
  • beefshoes Cool, and thank you as well!Btw, if you listened to the upper most song, that was from 2010. I actually did two newer tracks that are grouped together in a different playlist. They are a lot more Ulver/Bathory influenced as opposed to the 2010 material.
    September 26 08:42 PM
  • Shuyin thanks man, its gonna be a tough moment but one must man it up. and thanks for checking the track, it means allot. i actually had the project of the final version with improved drums but it was saved on a hard drive that crashed. i only have this mp3 file now ahahah cheers!
    September 26 08:38 PM
  • Relinquished nothing blatantly egregious I could point out bro, I keep imagining how much awesome and better that could sound in a professional studio (obviously of course). great track overall, a little simple for my taste but I like how it's just progressive metal and the touches of bm influence are there.
    September 26 08:36 PM
  • beefshoes I enjoyed it, and I followed your account (Nordlig Komfort). The musicianship is really awesome, and I'm really digging the bass being as high as it is in the mix. If I could offer any constructive criticism, it'd be to raise the volume of the guitars in some areas. Towards the start of the track, it feels as if they're being drowned out by everything else that's going on. Maybe a bit more reverb on the snare drum to give it a bigger sound? Other than that, great effort :D
    September 26 08:12 PM
  • Funeralopolis I don't mind your harsh vocals they're much better than your cleans. I'm sure the album would be fine instrumental anyways it definitely has enough going on to merit it.
    September 26 08:12 PM
  • oltnabrick 5/5
    September 26 08:10 PM
  • Futures of course man big fan of your work!
    September 26 08:06 PM
  • Futures awesome man. in my opinion i think vocals would fit the track very well.
    September 26 08:04 PM
  • Funeralopolis I think it could possibly use some vocals but I'm gonna be perfectly honest with you here and say I honestly don't really like your vocals much at all for the most part but you definitely have quite a talent when it comes to instrumentation. I would almost recommend you teaming up with a vocalist, but even as an instrumental it would be fine.
    September 26 07:52 PM
  • Frippertronics nice track, really not digging the drums though (i'm guessing they're programmed?)

  • Funeralopolis Killer track, are those 3 new songs you released going to be on an album? This is some of your best stuff yet. Its Height is still my favourite because I love the hell out of the bass on it, but I'd rank them: Its Height, Orgasm Forest, Flame. All rock doe.
    September 26 07:44 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Gotcha.
    September 26 07:36 PM
  • AaronIsCrunchy Haha, oh jeez that song title! The track sounds fantastic. Hope it doesn't sound like I'm detracting from the first half as I did like that, but the second half of the song (i.e. 3:14 on, you know the bit!) sounds absolutely fantastic. Got the amount of repeats played before a variation more or less spot on. How long did it take you to write?
    September 26 07:28 PM

  • theNateman No problem about the feedback! You're a talented musician, and I cant wait to see how you progress!
    September 25 07:30 PM
  • pedro70512 Clear is good with the style you've been using lately. Or styles. I'm playing around with mixing and production myself on AVC and it's coming out nicely so far. I've found that using a low-pass filter seems to eliminate unwanted clicks and hiss from the tracks, for instance. Yeah man your instrumental stuff is nice. I can't pin down your clean vocals...they're not bad but they didn't quite work for me at times on the last album. I need to spin Black Horse again, speaking of that album...
    September 25 10:22 AM
  • pedro70512 I liked the song a lot. You've got a distinct production style that emphasizes clear and bassy sounds in the center while everything else floats around it. It's cool. Will you add vox or is it just instrumental?
    September 25 09:58 AM
  • Jacquibim sweeee
    September 24 01:00 PM
  • Jacquibim I'll try to get it done in a week from now, sound good?
    September 24 12:41 PM
  • Jacquibim I WILL get it done man, and I promise it'll be 10 times better than the first pic. I've just had a difficult time finding motivation for anything for various reasons. Sorry to keep you waiting D:
    September 24 12:17 PM
  • Deathbeds Heliogabalus is so good. Thanks for telling me about it!
    September 23 07:30 PM
  • pedro70512 aight thanks. hope you have fun whew wherever you're headed
    September 20 06:25 AM
  • pedro70512 just posted the guitar tracks for another song. they need to be equalized and smoothed out tone-wise but it's a good framework. any thoughts?
    September 19 11:32 AM
  • Wolfhorde No need to apologize, I didn't even get out of Florida anyway. I'm into good beer or good booze in general, I like interesting pubs/pubs with good food/booze/interesting people. Obviously music is also a thing, meeting cool people, bonfires, barbecue. Stuff like that. I also like sports and fitness.
    September 17 06:21 PM
  • Wolfhorde Also, I'd appreciate any recs on stuff in the U.S. or Cali to check out. I mean it'll probably be a while before I hit the U.S. up again since I gotta explore my European neighbors a bit more (and finances and planning, obviously) but I do plan to see some more at some point.
    September 17 05:51 PM
  • Wolfhorde Yeah, it's honestly not that easy to condense iall that stuff down to some shoutbox posts with somewhat narrow character limit. That's why when I write letters they're usually at least 3 pages. And I mean what I put in there was just some stuff I picked, there's more and probably even more I couldn't even think of right now. There's just way too much to life.
    September 17 05:45 PM
  • Wolfhorde as to its necessity bar the tax benefits. I don't necessarily see why a particular - somewhat religiously connotated - "symbol" or "ritual" is necessary in a relationship or what purpose it serves. Also, now you have why I prefer other platforms for communication. I can be very verbal.
    September 17 05:26 PM
  • Wolfhorde As for plans to marry and have kids holy ballsacks, no. I'm 21 and I've got other s*** on my "to do" list which includes finishing uni, getting to know a lot more different cultures/lots of travelling and trying various activities, getting a good career path going and meeting various kinds of people from said cultures. Every here and then also visiting friends (that are all over the globe). You mean civil marriage? Mhm, maybe at some point. Although I'm a bit skeptical regarding the institution
    September 17 05:24 PM
  • Wolfhorde another one of those just generally interesting and "good to know" things that make understanding certain processes and backgrounds a lot easier. Plus you have a certain congurence with stuff like history, SoSci and geography. Music and architecture because of aesthetics, different interpretations and concepts of those and how they developed.
    September 17 05:22 PM
  • Wolfhorde interpretations of certain occurences and intentions and things like that. Idk, it's just incredibly fascinating. Historical continuity is also a very interesting concept. Plus history makes understanding culture easier. Law because it's an interesting and relatively flexible concept that is also quite intricate and can be used and interpreted in myriads of ways. Plus I believe that everyone should have a certain minimum legal expertise or be able to have access to legal expertise. Geography,
    September 17 05:21 PM
  • Wolfhorde although philosophy kind of penetrates everything so it has a relation to almost every other academic subject (from law to polisci to math). Social Studies just seems like a good set of general knowledge, history - again is good for making sense of how things are now and how they were. Also quite good for learning, i.e. learn from the mistakes of others. Plus it's just RIDICULOUSLY intricate. There's always another layer and the more information we have the more layers we get you get different
    September 17 05:19 PM
  • Wolfhorde As I have mentioned somewhere else, I'm starting law in uni relatively soon which is also why I'm (finally) moving (out of this godforsaken rural crater of boredom). Areas of education that are interesting? Mhm, social studies, history, psychology, philosophy, law, geography, architecture and music. Jesus, why are they interesting? Psychology because I like to know how people work in general and because it makes making sense of people's actions easier. Philosophy partially for the same reason
    September 17 05:16 PM
  • Wolfhorde The "third stage" would be a lack of both sexual drive and romantic feelings. Asexuality can also be quite confusing for people who are asexual as not everyone can just as easily categorize themselves with clear lines. If I'd have to take it apart I'd say generally the biggest three components are drive, pleasure and feelings and how they interact or not.
    September 17 05:09 PM
  • Wolfhorde When I have romantic feelings for someone it doesn't come with the drive to have sexual intercourse with that person. Although asexuality doesn't necessarily imply that asexual people don't have sex or pleasure themselves, they just don't have the same drive as most other people and often they don't derive the same enjoyment from it. But as with sexuality in general, asexuality is also more of a spectrum allthough it has mostly been categorized in stages.
    September 17 05:05 PM
  • Wolfhorde .. I think you can understand how disrespectful that is. Yes, I understand that but you can't just disassemble sexual orientation into some kind of "component parts" - it's not a machine, it's something comprehensive. Although to be entirely honest, I get the question of "why are you asexual?" a lot more which is often a lot more infuriating given the context with which that kind of question is often posed.
    September 17 04:57 PM
  • Wolfhorde Oh, I was almost certain you didn't have offensive intentions (although humans can be very erratic) - I was just pointing out that what you said may nevertheless have offensive implications. I'm not entirely certain what exactly you're referring to with the sentence regarding the offensive light and my response. I can admittedly get a bit offended at some people's sheer ignorance and their presumptuousness. I've had people attempt to tell me what sexuality I am in the past and all that stuff and
    September 17 04:54 PM
  • Wolfhorde Oh and your question seems kind of inaccurate. I'm bisexual, not gay. So you'd have to ask why I think I'm attracted to both genders.
    September 17 04:15 PM
  • Wolfhorde Although I have admittedly not been emotionally connected to my family by much since I was 13/14 so eh.
    September 17 04:12 PM
  • Wolfhorde Some of the most plausible hypotheses are evolutionary in which the idea is something along the lines of these things developed out of a specific context in which that was favorable to heterosexuality. As for me personally, my biological parents may have been divorced for a long time but I doubt it has anything to do with that. And while my stepfather had some violent tendencies, these feelings were present before he started acting on them.
    September 17 04:11 PM
  • Wolfhorde I'm sorry but what you just said had quite a few offensive implications. The notion that alternative sexualities have ANYTHING to do with psychological issues have been disproven various times (that kind of quasi-Freudian ideology is maybe something old conservative Germans buy into but come on) and any occurence of such in conjunction is pure coincidence. At this point we have absolutely no idea what "causes" some people to be bisexual, homosexual or asexual.
    September 17 04:08 PM
  • Wolfhorde Then, somehow contact just faded away and when I tried to contact her again via mail or skype or something I never really got any response.
    September 17 03:39 PM
  • Wolfhorde Not my kinda cup of tea. And as I said, I have ADD and it definitely shows up in my general attributes and behavior. I get bored easily, I need lots of versatile things to do, I have a ridiculous amount of energy and I have completely illogical mood swings that partially happen at random. Well, there were few factors. She was from Austria, so there was distance - she was also 17 at the time so she was really young and she just left her boyfriend as he was an abusive dickhead.
    September 17 03:38 PM
  • Wolfhorde Most people can't really guess that I'm not heterosexual since I don't really go out of my way to make it a statement or a defining part of my identity, I have always had these feelings - I was just pretty much in denial. As I said, this is a pretty traditional rural area. I didn't even know what homosexuality was until I befriended someone at the age of 15/16. Hey, that sounds like you're describing some of my former teachers, haha. Seriously though,
    September 17 03:33 PM
  • Wolfhorde Oh, and the other thing about the whole family thing is that I lost contact with one of my former best friends right about the time she started a family. I've also seen how some of that stuff can turn out which is not at all pretty.
    September 17 03:13 PM
  • Wolfhorde I'll probably abuse the university library at some point just to scour for some history books when I've got time to kill. Yeah, I'm relatively neutral, too. I kinda do have an opinion on things but I don't affiliate myself with any political ideology as I have a very academic view of things (it depends on the context and the specifics) and I'd rather stay out of it than support something just for the hell of it.
    September 17 03:09 PM
  • Wolfhorde Not just about the financial aspects (although they're considerable, too) but the general impact it will have on your life. I mean hell, I'm starting to study law. I won't be done before 27. And I've got plans, there's s*** to see and somesuch. I guess being a bisexual asexual with ADD also kinda changes the game a bit. (the impact of ADD on some general attributes can be vastly underrated) That sounds pretty swell, I love history - particularly digging really deep into the specifics.
    September 17 03:08 PM
  • Wolfhorde Also, I gotta be honest - I've seen some people in the age range I described having a family and I kinda find that to be a terrifying thought.
    September 17 02:51 PM
  • Wolfhorde I mean, of course it also depends on the area of the U.S. but in general people are more open to smalltalk with strangers and things of the like (unfortunately partially also to being much more superficial). Over here that kind of behavior is often viewed as "rude" or "creepy" because our notions of "being polite" or "respectful" implies keeping a certain distance until you get to know people better and since people in the service industry don't have to rely on tips the environment is different.
    September 17 02:50 PM
  • Wolfhorde Well, that's generally the case - that's why I usually use the word "tendency" because it implies that there is a general tendency but leaves room for a LOT of variation if you get down to it. Oh yeah, I'm very familiar with that - a lot of Americans have the same opinion of Germany and Scandinavian countries because we have very different ideas of "being polite" or "respectful".
    September 17 02:47 PM
  • Wolfhorde I mean the same goes for any other kind fo socio-political idea. What do you mean by "resourceful" with weed? I'm not entirely following what you meant when with your mum's quote and the people further up North. (also, isn't California traditionally very liberal/progressive?) You got upset at her opinion or people's behavior?
    September 17 02:30 PM
  • Wolfhorde Well, it depends on the definition of "conservative". I mean there's already a difference between our political conservative and your political conservative, then socially conservativism is an entirely different beast. A certain degree of conservatism certainly makes sense (conserving culture and traditions to the degree that they don't infringe upon anyone's rights or harm anyone, conserving certain principles/standards etc) - it always depends on the context.
    September 17 02:27 PM
  • Wolfhorde Admittedly, where I live you still have quite traditional societal tendencies (Palatinate was once a Bavarian province where rich aristocrats hung out in their spare time, Bavaria is also partially one of the most conservative places here) a so things that are out of the ordinary will at first be a bit of a "oh s***" moment.
