  • CalculatingInfinity This may be of some use to you: http://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?listid=168022
    July 11 09:38 AM
  • rockandmetaljunkie Who doesn't love priest man ? ;)
    June 30 12:42 PM
  • rockandmetaljunkie not arguing but that doesn't mean you do not favorite other bands too ;)
    June 29 05:48 PM
  • rockandmetaljunkie favorite bands: Judas Priest
    June 29 03:03 PM
  • JamieTwort Hey man, I haven't checked it out yet. Probably will do soon. What are your thoughts on it?
    June 6 03:33 PM
  • Jasdevi087 Tinderbox probably (I know I have Juju rated higher but it needs a relisten). Haven't jammed Hyaena, accidently skipped it on the discography run, it's the one with Dear Prudence right?
    June 6 05:47 AM
  • Jasdevi087 Also that soundoff in giant letters has destroyed your ratings section :p
    June 3 06:48 PM
  • Jasdevi087 It was the bluest one I could find
    June 3 06:46 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity Unfortunately, most likely no :[
    May 12 01:28 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity Every BT live I've rated are DVD/Blu Ray's (yes, I've watched 12 full concerts).
    May 11 06:03 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity Buck Tick are the best ever what can I say? ;) I love watching lives now, gives you a whole new appreciation for the bands you listen to.
    May 11 01:01 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity Ye I have exams in 2 weeks, so I'm pretty busy too.
    May 9 12:23 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity You think you'll end up on the Vektor hype train or not? ;) Anyway sup? Haven't seen ya for a while.
    May 7 04:39 PM
  • Tyler. who are you
    April 18 09:41 PM
  • EvoHavok That was really cool.
    April 4 12:17 PM
  • EvoHavok No, I haven't. I'll check it out.
    April 4 12:09 PM
  • EvoHavok Just the two from the list I linked.
    April 1 09:24 AM
  • EvoHavok Someone had to be in the right place at the right time to correct Cal's mistakes. Guess he did not like it xD. There's a great offer on used Kurutta Taiyou on there if you're interested.
    March 25 03:35 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity P.S. Evo smells :P
    March 25 03:25 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity Also nvm Japan Discoveries offers registered SAL. I can't believe you own that, so lucky. One day I'd want to get the Buck Tick equivalent of that (Picture Perfect).
    March 25 03:23 PM
  • EvoHavok Sorry for barging in this convo, but Japan-discoveries offers registered SAL which is cheap and has tracking.
    March 25 03:23 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity When I get my Buck Tick live through the post it's gonna be jawdropping, it's more effort and money to get these things but it's so worth it.
    March 25 01:36 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity X Japan Vinyl is so ****ing rare to find, I think using Buyee, Remambo and Discogs are the only ways to get them (and just search Vanishing Vision, search bars don't like X Japan since too many results lol). CD's are much easier to find, being £15-£40 a pop. Which boxset did you grab? If it was Complete II you're a bitch :P. Buck Tick material in terms of CD's is easy to get a hand off using those sources, live shows you'll be fine until you get to limited editions where it starts to become hard
    March 25 01:29 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity There you go, between a bunch of these there's nothing you can't find. What you planning on buying?
    March 24 04:50 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity 4. Japan Discoveries. A ****ing incredible which has rare items and immense selection of items without the extra work of option 3 and Amazon.jp. Only downside is you can't track items unless you use EMS I think which is expensive: http://japan-discoveries.com/index.php?main_page=index
    March 24 04:46 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity 3, Remambo, it's something that allows you to bid or buy from Japanese bidding sites which would be a previously impossible. I've never had to use this yet, so it's the only one which I haven't had experience with although my friend has so if you ever have to use it just ask and I'll ask her: https://www.remambo.jp/
    March 24 04:41 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity 2. Use Asian based websites where are specialized in this service. Here's a great article on the big 3 for it, listing pros and cons: https://alexshenmue.wordpress.com/buying-music-in-japan/buying-japanese-music-from-overseas/
    March 24 04:36 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity Your options are the following: 1. Use online shopping/bidding sites not specifically for Japanese Music. Which are eBay (best one for rare items), Discogs (very useful for albums which are normal pressing but hard to find, can find some rare items there but they're either good deals or insane prices) or Amazon (can really be hit or miss)
    March 24 04:34 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity Yep they're blowing my mind. I brought Tour 14 Arui 2 days after watching it for £70, so ****ing worth.
    March 16 11:56 AM
  • CalculatingInfinity Not a full album but what I heard was enjoyable. By the looks of my ratings you can tell what I'm doing lol.
    March 14 05:42 PM
  • Nazzadan I'll check out the rest of Nuclear Assault now, I kinda did stop after Handle With Care
    March 6 05:33 PM
  • JigglyPDiddy Pretty amazing band deserving of said ratings. ;)
    February 26 07:51 PM
  • blatho One day I may... do the cheese, I do yes blatho.
    February 26 09:21 AM
  • blatho blatho.
    February 26 07:08 AM
  • romulanrancor That's where im at man haha
    February 13 04:06 PM
  • romulanrancor Going through it chronologically, already heard Bad Magic and Inferno already though. Which both rule hard m/
    February 13 01:02 PM
  • romulanrancor idk, i actually dig the sound quite a bit haha
    February 12 03:49 PM
  • romulanrancor I was a little hesitant at first, It was gonna be that or a 3 but I actually enjoyed it a fair bit. It would be hard for me to 3 a Motorhead album because they ruled so damn much haha
    February 12 02:42 PM
  • Atari Thanks man I appreciate it
    February 12 01:59 PM
  • manosg No problem, dude. Let me know if you need anything more.
    February 11 08:28 AM
  • manosg I would also definitely suggest No Sleep 'til Hammersmith and Everything Louder Than Everyone Else from their live stuff. Both incredible albums.
    February 11 07:47 AM
  • manosg Since you're going to check their whole discog, I'd say go chronologically. In terms of which I enjoy more, it'd be something like Motorizer, The World Is Yours, Kiss of Death, Overnight Sensation, Snake Bite Love.
    February 11 07:38 AM
  • manosg Hey Run, what's up? Yes, I have. Some of them only 2-3 times but yeah, I've listened all of their studio discog and I'm making an effort in checking some of their live material and EPs.
    February 11 04:41 AM
  • EvoHavok Anytime! ^_^
    February 5 07:43 AM
  • EvoHavok That's nice to hear. Since the shoutbox formatting and word limit can be a pain, I made a hefty list here: http://pastebin.com/9N32tvGc Hope you'll like the albums.
    February 5 01:44 AM
  • CalculatingInfinity I'm at the north and London is down south :/ Also lovely Buck Tick ratings ;)
    February 4 03:23 PM
  • EvoHavok Woohoo, 13kai back to 4.4 average thanks to you!
    February 4 02:44 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity Aye I just read, Pata in hospital :[ This really sucks because they needed that event. I most likely still can't make what they do unfortunately.
    February 4 05:00 AM
  • CalculatingInfinity Personally Yuuwaku is my favourite but Dress is very close behind, it's such a good album.
    February 3 05:06 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity Ikr? One of my favs on the album.
    February 3 04:06 PM
  • romulanrancor haha idk dude, havent really thought about reviewing tbh. might have to consider it.
    January 8 11:42 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity To enjoy the band that's not the best introduction but to squash the claims they're bad live that is always the first video that comes to mind, gives me chills everytime.
    January 8 11:06 AM
  • CalculatingInfinity They're not for everyone (the hate they've gathered by some people is dumb, especally here) but give 'um a few cracks and have fun :] Also to show that Kyo can sing all this live on a good day: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tRtZ0mVPwCs
    January 5 03:54 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity Well they are my fav band so ya, oddly enough I didn't like for year but eventually it hit me like a brick. Either Uroboros Remaster or Arche are the best places to start, the latter being a more melodic and atmospheric affair while Uroboros is a dark tinged sonic monolith. Dum Spiro Spero is my favourite album of all time but that is a bad, bad place to start.
    January 5 03:44 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity Good lad ;) Nothing much, revising for exams and finishing off Buck-Tick's discography, Plus a have a few albums to check out and stuff. I fell asleep at 11:30PM at new years lol
    January 2 12:50 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity Thank you, do anything nice for new year's?
    January 2 11:17 AM
  • CalculatingInfinity Hey man, how you been? ****ing gutting Lemmy's finally kicked the bucket :[
    December 29 11:40 AM
  • Titan i don't know, good question. I have a Beatles record that is worth a couple of grand if mint....i'd say mine is in very good shape
    December 10 04:43 PM
  • AnimalsAsSummit You're right. I saw Toby Driver posted the album on his fb and decided to give it a jam
    December 10 01:59 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity The lyrics are incredible, the story is a crushing one, the melodies are so simple yet masterfully crafted and everything from the eco effect on Sufjan's voice adding a ghostly vibe to the light piano littered throughout makes you absorbed in it. I don't know whether it'll be your thing but never have I listened to anything that has gripped me so much emotionally and said so much in so little musically. Essential.
    December 10 12:30 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity Lazy sod :P Well...it made me cry...I think that alone is a powerful enough statement to listen to it. Expected nothing but a man, his acoustic guitar and some atmospherics with little else who gives a story about how he coped with the loss of his Mother. It's tribute to her, among others as well.
    December 10 12:28 PM
  • Titan sure do mill bro......have about 500 vinyls and about 700 cd's......you too shall be an old ass soon enough!
    December 9 04:57 PM
  • romulanrancor Hey man, been getting into hardcore recently. What about yourself? what you been jamming? :P
    December 2 03:12 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity Get your best pair or head/earphones and let it thump in your ears
    December 2 01:26 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity Plus 13kai is a bigger grower than Kurutta since it's longer and more to digest. Once you're done with that I think you should finally go for Darker.
    December 2 01:22 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity Yep it definately isn't Kurutta level but it still rules, why I suggeted it next. 13kai is in my opinion Kurutta's rival when it comes to quality, incredible album.
    December 2 01:19 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity 4.5 yay :3
    November 29 03:55 PM
  • romulanrancor you can't handle the truth! reload is #1!
    November 27 04:45 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity Yep that run is absolute magic, but I love M.A.D. as well. With the guitar line in the background sounds like a spider running up a wall and bass line combo...so good.
    November 27 12:53 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity As for what to try next, I suggest Yume Miru Uchuu which is part of their rock revival. Really solid awesome album (have it 4'ed), fun and full of hooks. This single will give you a good idea of what it sounds like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZ69vneu_Lw
    November 26 12:56 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity Buck Tick are just the hardest growers imaginable, Kurutta was a 3.5 for me first listen for me and now it's a 5. Never mind the first track, the whole album mate :P. I suggest leaving Darker until later, because it's a pretty odd album despite being one of their best and their discography is so expansive it's nice to have a try in every area. So have Darker soon but not next.
    November 26 12:54 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity Yep the production on it is wopper, everything is so lush and full of texture.
    November 26 06:49 AM
  • CalculatingInfinity Hey man, did you ever check Kurutta?
    November 24 10:07 AM
  • CalculatingInfinity Pleasure, hope you dig
    November 18 10:23 AM
  • CalculatingInfinity *Gothic Rock/Arena Rock, scratch the New Wave part.
    November 17 01:27 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity Since you won't find full albums on YT, here's all their albums and you can pick and choose. The password to all the rar's is j-musiic.com, have fun: http://www.j-musiic.com/discografia-buck-tick/
    November 17 01:24 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity They've done so much stuff but there's 4 main periods: Pop Punk/New Wave, Gothic Rock/New Wave/Arena Rock, Cyberpunk and Rock Revival. For any starter, I recommend Kurutta Taiyou because it's so good. If you love that, come back to me and I'll give a full guide. They're a giant grower band, so give them a chance if it doesn't do much orginally. Just don't **** up 4.9 avg ;)
    November 17 01:19 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity Definately. IV was awesome, Jade is really like, Scarlet Love Song is meh and their worst ballad and BTBF...kinda **** off. You should definately change that, because it's a treasure trove if you get past the crap and give it a chance since a bunch isn't the easiest to get too. I throughly rec Buck Tick if you're up for a crack, I mean look at this monster average haha: http://www.sputnikmusic.com/soundoff.php?albumid=87651
    November 17 11:11 AM
  • CalculatingInfinity Oh herro :D. I've said it once and I will again, worst X Japan song ever made. Between fearing for the new album, articles proclaiming they're taking over the world (which is horses***) and some of Yoshiki's antics, the resurrection of X Japan is bothering me. Also diving into their discography, finally having the band in general click for me and comparing histories, I'm having more respect for Buck-Tick at this point over X Japan. You ever gave them a crack?
    November 17 10:33 AM
  • enedwaith yeah i'm not a neo-pagan practitioner, though i do think all of pre-christian -
    November 8 07:23 PM
  • enedwaith yeah man i'm so thankful for wardruna. some of the best music i've ever heard
    November 7 07:10 PM
  • rockandmetaljunkie Yeah, why not ? If I've got some time :D
    August 6 06:08 PM
  • romulanrancor I haven't. Damn, I'm going to check them out right now
    August 2 10:00 AM
  • romulanrancor Thanks man, They rule. Apparently they're doing a new album next year :D
    August 2 09:55 AM
  • dannyboy89 I guess I can a few. Btw, I might do at least one review these days, I've put it off long enough.
    July 25 12:54 PM
  • rockandmetaljunkie Thanks man. Yes, the songs were improvisations based on Gary Moore's playing style. I have no professional equipment. I was just using my phone camera.
    June 28 10:49 AM
  • rockandmetaljunkie https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6b2uuCk8Wj0 it's a bit all over the place considering the fact that I hadn't play this for 2-3 years, but i tried to do my best
    June 24 04:06 PM
  • rockandmetaljunkie https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMqqwklnM6s
    June 24 04:05 PM
  • rockandmetaljunkie Hello my firend, what's up ? If you liked Crypt Sermon's debut check outh these guys. I think the're even better: http://www.sputnikmusic.com/bands/Sorcerer/28820/
    April 4 05:09 AM
  • manosg Sure man. Hope you enjoy.
    March 20 10:22 AM
  • manosg Hey dude. I know you're in a Night of the Stormrider mood so you might want to check this link. It could have easily been the successor to Stormrider and it's by a Greek band. http://www.sputnikmusic.com/soundoff.php?albumid=181214
    March 19 03:59 AM
?a pourrait changer eventuellement. Je ne suis pas un grand collectionneur. J'ai peut-etre 75 disques. Et pourquoi ?a? Tu veux te d?barasser des tiens?
    March 11 12:31 PM
  • manosg Gotta love both your avatar and profile pic.
    March 1 12:48 PM
  • rockandmetaljunkie I always liked how Billy Ward seems like ancient philosopher in this picture.
    March 1 01:05 AM
  • rockandmetaljunkie Hehe, I know that as I own that record. Thanks for the kind words. :)
    March 1 01:04 AM
  • rockandmetaljunkie love your new pic
    February 26 08:26 AM
  • rockandmetaljunkie In the meanwhile, I've got another proposition 4 you. I'm sure you'll love these guys: http://www.sputnikmusic.com/bands/Earthless/8542/
    February 25 08:15 PM
  • rockandmetaljunkie I downloaded their discog and I will start checking these guys out by listening to their 2 newest albums.
    February 25 08:13 PM
  • rockandmetaljunkie Various different sites label these guys as Heavy/Black Metal, so I must decline your offer :P
    February 25 12:45 PM
  • rockandmetaljunkie check wikipedia's article for more info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doom_metal
    February 24 04:51 PM
  • rockandmetaljunkie Good question. Like Candlemass, Solitude Aeturnus, Solstice and some other bands, Crypt Sermon play a style of metal which is called epic doom. Electric Wizard's music is Stoner/Doom. This style of music is quite different mainly because of the fuzz effects on the guitars.
    February 24 04:49 PM
  • SharkTooth Glad you dig it!
    February 23 08:14 PM
  • rockandmetaljunkie I'm sure you'll find the music awesome as well because it sounds just as the artwork.
    February 23 08:02 PM
  • rockandmetaljunkie yeah, album art slays !!
    February 23 07:25 PM
  • rockandmetaljunkie Hey man what's up ? I don't know if you dig Candlemass or epic doom in general but if you do, you must check these guys out: http://www.sputnikmusic.com/bands/Crypt-Sermon/64352/
    February 23 12:37 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity Give me is really dull, Towards One Goal doesn't give the big blow off that the build ups allude too, few minor songwriting problems and I find the vocals rather...odd. Don't get me wrong it's awesome but there's a few better albums. Pestlience's first effort, Metallica's golden 2, RIP, Toxik, and especally Epidemic of Violence are all better.
    January 8 01:59 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity I wonder too. Yep Aspid's pretty awesome, overrated though. Also check out the Outrage album I rated, holy s*** the singer sounds EXACTLY like 80's Hetfield. Japtallica m/
    January 8 07:05 AM
  • CalculatingInfinity Hey man, hope you had a lovely X-mas and Happy new year. I was just looking through my bookmarks and remembered a stunning interview which any X-Japan fan must read. It's a very emotional one, and will make you look at the Last Live differently: http://www.xjapan.de/interviews/perfect.htm
    January 1 03:09 PM
  • dannyboy89 Dude, I see you have no Deep Purple rated.
    November 16 08:11 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity lol ya he's a verbal raingun, all his Metal Mythos videos rule. Glad you enjoyed :]
    November 10 02:12 AM
  • CalculatingInfinity http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d4url5YjAN0
    November 9 05:17 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity What made me try more Priest outside Painkiller was actually a brilliant video which you'd love by a Youtube Channel called The Rageaholic. He primary does game related topics but recently he's started a series called Metal Mythos where he reviews the discography and history of legendary Metal bands. I'd recommend you'd watch all 3 he's put out so far, especally the Judas Priest one. Here's a link:
    November 9 05:16 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity I'll give a listen soon hopefully. Yes I don't like their 70's material at all, find it so neudered and dull ( despite Rob's high end being at his peak, everything else especally on Sad Wings is definately not as well done vocally).
    November 9 05:15 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity Listened to them a bit of Stained Class and Sad Wings of Destiny. I don't like their 70's material but the 3 I rated I definately see me listening to in the future :]
    November 9 09:05 AM
  • CalculatingInfinity I got into a bit a Priest, be proud of me :D
    November 8 08:19 AM
  • dannyboy89 I should listen to it again sometime, maybe in December. Teaching duties and MA studies have really absorbed my time, so these days I listen to songs at most. What about you, have you liked it?
    October 29 04:14 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity *fangasm*. Best death ever :D
    October 10 10:20 AM
  • CalculatingInfinity I had that exact problem when they came to the UK, it's the worst :[
    October 10 03:43 AM
  • CalculatingInfinity Too much effort review per review to get better and I'll be busy since I'm at Uni currently.
    September 23 06:20 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity Because I can't write, simple as that really. I find it too frustrating to do justice to albums while keeping my reviewing style non-formatic.
    September 23 09:41 AM
  • ExplosiveOranges Of RoS? Halls of Valhalla. In general? No ****ing idea, haha. There's too many good ones to pick from.
    September 21 04:50 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges s*** dude, just realized that I never responded to your shout. Apologies. Anyways, I see you rated Redeemer of Souls, and I think I remember you commenting on my review for it a while back, but regardless, what did you think of the album?
    September 21 04:25 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Agreed. You a big vinyl collector?
    September 18 02:42 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges I like vinyl, but it's expensive as ****, so I can't really go with that. I prefer CDs, yeah. And I got: Painkiller, Sad Wings of Destiny, Stained Class, Screaming for Vengeance, and British Steel.
    September 17 09:19 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Good to hear, friend. I've been keeping fairly well, jamming more electronic and hip hop-oriented music nowadays. However, I think you'll be happy to know that over the summer, I bought 5 Judas Priest albums.
    September 17 08:39 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Damn dude, I haven't seen you around for a while. How's life?
    September 16 10:10 PM
  • dannyboy89 Sweet dude.
    August 29 11:56 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity Good question actually because they've got so much brilliant stuff. If I was atsolutely forced to pick one.... ahhh.....umm......Crucify My Love off Dahlia. Wow just thinking about it makes me wanna make a best X Japan songs list xD. Also lovin' that Epidemic of Violence rating ;)
    June 11 01:42 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity I still remember jamming Dahila outside IT block, waiting for lessons to start, ignoring everything around me listening to every note and detail. I miss it.
    May 30 05:23 AM
  • CalculatingInfinity Hope you enjoyed it in France :]. As for when I got into X-Japan, it was when I was 13 (I'm 18 now). Back when music games where massive, I used to play them alot and their song I.V. was put onto Rock Band 2 due to the fact it was on the Saw IV soundtrack (best part about that bad movie). I enjoyed the song enough to explore their stuff, found Art of Life and they became my favorite band from then on.
    May 30 05:21 AM
  • CalculatingInfinity Brilliant actually. Half way through exams, half term has started and I've found the first girl I'm legimately intrested in. I still brouse through comments but I haven't really had anything to comment on. How about you? Sput's offical authority of Priest ;D
    May 27 06:47 AM
  • dannyboy89 It's curious that some of my fave bands have reputations for inconsistent discogs (Priest, Queensryche, Pearl Jam, Deep Purple) but I really don't mind. I still love them for what they are. I'd rather have 2-3 albums I ****ing love than 6-8 solid albums that don't pump me up as much.
    May 27 12:56 AM
  • dannyboy89 I'm glad you understand me man :D.
    May 26 05:27 PM
  • dannyboy89 I should check Live After Death tho.
    May 26 09:23 AM
  • dannyboy89 Honestly, there's something about the classic Dickinson Era that doesn't drawn me in. I could prob jam 'em now and then, but I find the two DiAnno Era albums more interesting to jam. And there's a couple of metal albums I'd put above Maiden's first 7.
    May 26 09:22 AM
  • dannyboy89 Yeah man, I mostly agree with that. Maiden had an impressive 7 album run, but tbh I feel they took less musical risks than Priest did in the 70's. They kinda did the same thing over and over, with slight differences in atmosphere on each of the Dickinson Era albums. Also, while I respect Smith and Murray, Glenn and KK just pump my blood more. Clive Burr is one of my fave drummers tho.

  • dannyboy89 Do you think Priest gets too much flak for their reputation for inconsistency?
    May 25 06:58 PM
  • NeroCorleone80 Mostly Ramones and Black Flag. Yeah The Stooges rule, but they were more proto-punk
    May 24 02:14 PM
  • NeroCorleone80 Not bad, just been jamming a lot of punk lately. Hows things with you?
    May 24 09:04 AM
  • dannyboy89 I just think creativity was Priest's main forte, as I said earlier. That ability to take those influences and push things further was imo what they did best.
    May 22 05:46 AM
  • dannyboy89 They prob didn't have Zep's sense of eclecticism either, but they sure knew how to make up for that. Again, opinion from fan to fan.
    May 22 05:43 AM
  • dannyboy89 I find it interesting to note how Priest fused the influences of Zep, Sabbath and Purple, along with other bands, into a single, steamrolling sound. Creativity was definitely one of their strong suits, even if perhaps they didn't quite possess Sabbath's originality or DP's sense of sophistication (ofc these are opinions). They sure knew how to take those influences and up the ante hard, the reason why SWoD and SC are such timeless metal classics. I'd also include SAS in that running as well.
    May 22 05:42 AM
  • dannyboy89 It all started several years back, actually. You've Got Another Thing Comin' was prob the first song I heard by them. I pretty much started out with post-SC Priest.
    May 22 04:39 AM
  • dannyboy89 I've been into the Priests for a long time, but yeah, our discussions about them have definitely contributed to my appreciation of their music.
    May 22 04:37 AM
  • dannyboy89 I guess I sometimes forget that this is a music website full of different opinions, and in some ways, looking at different perspectives is somewhat interesting in itself. In some ways, it's a learning experience all on it's own.
    May 22 03:10 AM
  • dannyboy89 Rock is easily my fave genre, but tbh, I like pop almost as much, maybe equally on some days.
    May 18 05:09 PM
  • dannyboy89 Yeah man, I love variety. I also like to challenge myself and be open to different forms of music, you never know what you might like next. I don't like everything, but I like to be open-minded. I also agree on Tyrant, VoC and DD being best on SWoD, although preference is always subjective.
    May 18 04:35 PM
  • dannyboy89 And yeah, take your time with Vs. It's raw, but it rules. What thrash have you been jamming?
    May 18 04:08 PM
  • dannyboy89 I think it's great for everyone to have different faves, it'd be boring if everyone had the same fave. Tyrant just feels like a quintessential metal anthem, plus it has one of my fave riffs ever.
    May 18 03:41 PM
  • dannyboy89 Also, I'm glad you liked Ten. Check Vs. as well, it sounds a bit rawer but it's almost as good imo.
    May 18 02:49 PM
  • dannyboy89 Is Run of the Mill your fave Priest song? Mine's Tyrant.
    May 18 02:47 PM
  • dannyboy89 Nice to see you liking PJ, they're not too popular on the site. Tbh, I didn't expect you to like 'em, so 'twas a pleasant surprise.
    April 27 09:06 PM
  • dannyboy89 Sweet, thanks man.
    April 25 03:24 PM
  • dannyboy89 I love all 3, but yeah, PJ and SG are my faves, followed by AiC. I don't despise Nirvana (Nevermind's a dece album imo) but they're my least fave of those 4.
    April 25 02:43 PM
  • dannyboy89 They're my 3rd fave of the Big 4.
    April 25 02:07 PM
  • dannyboy89 Sweet bro, glad you like 'em. BGWtB is dece too. I haven't heard TDPDH yet though.
    April 25 02:06 PM
  • rockandmetaljunkie Hello my friend how are you ? Atm I am at a hotel in Sri Lanka and tomorrow morning I will board to the vessel. I wish you luck and we will talk again in 6 months time.
    March 26 01:34 PM
  • Mad. Yeah Yawning Man are definitely underrated considering how legendary they are. I've never listened to their older stuff, doesn't it have vocals or something?I could rec you loads of stoner rock but here's an awesome one I'm currently digging: http://blackrainbows.bandcamp.com/album/black-rainbows-holy-moon-ep
    March 23 10:23 AM
  • dannyboy89 Awesome dude, kinda expected you to dig AiC. Don't check the s/t until you've heard Facelift and the SAP and JoF EP's. It's a lot tougher to get into, I'm having issues with it myself.
    March 23 09:35 AM
  • dannyboy89 Awesome, I'll see if I can jam BftRS this week, and then move on to WtSV.
    March 23 09:25 AM
  • dannyboy89 I've been meaning to for a long time. Apparently it was pretty awesome.
    March 23 09:19 AM
  • dannyboy89 Nah man, I've been jamming other stuff.
    March 23 09:01 AM
  • Mad. Yawning man are so chill, perfect summer/beach-listening music. It's funny that you ask about Kyuss, because I just won Sky Valley on eBay, so I'm about to change my lack of Kyuss!
    March 23 07:28 AM
  • dannyboy89 As for Nirvana, I'm not really a fan, they're easily my least fave out of the Big 4. Nevermind has its charm though, so you might check that if you're interested. Check TAD - Inhaler btw, its one of the more underrated gems in the style, it also riffs hard so you might want to check it after or during your AiC jamming.
    March 16 05:02 PM
  • dannyboy89 Pearl Jam is my fave, been a huge fan of them for years. In regards to them, Ten and Vs. are the ones to check out first (if you don't like them, don't bother with the rest as it's tougher to get into). With regards to AiC, check Dirt first, then Facelift, and then the Jar of Flies and SAP EP's. Seeing as you love metal, I think they'll appeal to you more easily than PJ.
    March 16 04:59 PM
  • dannyboy89 Also, I must confess that I prob find UMOK to be SG's most interesting listen, even if it's not my fave by them. I've prob heard it more times than any other SG album.
    March 16 02:51 PM
  • dannyboy89 Nowadays, at least twice.
    March 16 02:28 PM
  • dannyboy89 Yep, best song on there. I'll see if I can review it soon.
    March 15 02:08 PM
  • dannyboy89 Dunno if you'll like DotU that much based on what you told me. It's got some great tracks but about 25% of it is pretty weak imo. Check it out if you wish ofc, but you've been warned.
    March 15 02:06 PM
  • dannyboy89 Hey dude. Agreed on LtL being better than UMOK, that debut was cool, but it also had filler. For me, the next 3 were the band's peak. I also heard Screaming Life yesterday, which is great.
    March 15 11:52 AM
  • Mad. All of their albums are on bandcamp, so pretty easy to find and their first LP and EP are available for free download, so what's stopping you!
    February 12 06:02 PM
  • Mad. I would definitely recommend you check out Biblical Proof of UFOs' other stuff if you haven't already, they're a very interesting band. Their earlier stuff is fairly streamlined instrumental stone rock, while they're later stuff is completely different, soft blues-tinged psychedelic rock. I really enjoyed Time to Join The Human Race, considering reviewing it.Argus for me is one of the best classic rock albums of all time, every song has ridiculously good musicianship
    February 12 05:39 PM
  • Mad. Yeah, they've got an awesome name! I listened to some of their first album which was good, but I can't remember if it struck me as anything special. Their split EP song is awesome though.I also checked the band they did the split with, Biblical Proof of UFOs, and added them to the database. They're an excellent band, especially their latest LP, highly recommended!I may listen to Black Pussy again some time.Awesome taste btw, but you've got to rate Wishbone Ash - Argus higher!
    February 12 05:18 PM
  • rockandmetaljunkie Yeah, I noticed man and I will read it but not right now.
    February 12 04:02 PM
  • dannyboy89 Thanks for the rec man, hopefully I'll dig 'em soon.
    February 11 06:32 PM
  • JamieTwort Thanks dude.
    February 11 02:14 PM
  • dannyboy89 Yeah, been jamming each album twice in a row before re-rating it. Those ratings might change later on, of course.
    February 11 12:25 PM
  • rockandmetaljunkie Happy new year man, I wish you all the best for the new year
    December 31 02:23 PM
  • discovolante You're very welcome! ^_^
    December 18 05:08 PM
  • discovolante Hmm... metal? Dir en Grey, D'erlanger (1984 through 1988), Seikima-II, Sex Machineguns, Lance of Thrill (one of my favorites at the moment), Kinniku Shojo Tai, Tokusatsu, EZO, NoGod... there's some!! ^_^
    December 17 09:25 PM
  • dannyboy89 I see you're not a fan of British Steel.
    December 17 03:44 PM
  • dannyboy89 Don't get me wrong: I think both RID and PoE have good songs in 'em, but they just don't work too well in full imo.
    December 10 12:49 AM
  • dannyboy89 I see you're one of the biggest JP fans on the site, amazing band.I've come to prefer their earlier stuff to their commercial stuff, though I think everything up to PK is worth a listen, with the slight exception of RID and PoE, which are rather mediocre imo. But, no 2 opinions are alike I guess.
    December 10 12:46 AM
  • undertakerpt fair one, quirky and dissonant is my s***
