| Atari dude you just named like several of the best death metal bands out there lol. Death and Atheist are obvs 2 of my favorites too (along with Gorguts). To be honest i'm more picky than with DM than i am with Thrash. When I hear a thrash album I just know if i like it right away more accessible for me. Anyways heading home from work but if you're looking to get into thrash i can send you some recs when i get home : )

| Atari fair enough i actually just heard my first immortal album the other day. you said you don't like death metal much but what about melodeath? They really should be 2 separate genres if you ask me lol. I love old in flames, insomnium, dark tranquility just to name a few.

| dreamlikelions Yes, we do. I'm still trying to strike a balance between not giving a s*** and being respectful of others' music preferences. No luck so far.

| dreamlikelions I meant to say that in a more joking manner really. Mind telling me which writers you disagree with specifically? If you'd rather not say, that's fine too. Honestly, our goal was to get a very diverse staff so that most people could find a writer or two they usually agree with - not create a staff that offers the same collective opinion. I disagree with most of the other writers on 90% of their reviews, tbh. But that doesn't make the site fake like xandermander suggests.

 | xandermander I just can't stand all of their young reviewers who give everything a good rating and pretend they listen to everything and that all of it is good. Half of the site just comes across as incredibly fake.

| xandermander I don't take anything on the internet with any degree of seriousness. I just hate how at TNR if you express an opinion (and it happens to be negative) that the comments just get downvoted and hidden. I can't even say "this is really really bad" without having my comment blocked within a day.
