  • Titan It's amazing how different generations see eras of music differently. There is no doubt that heavy metal had the same exact influence on us growing up, being that we are the same age.

  • Voivod Hi man, I just remembered that you like your death metal tight, so in that light, you got to check this band out - http://trenchrotdeathmetal.bandcamp.com/
    November 8 07:35 AM
  • dannyboy89 Judging by your Maiden ratings, you must love them almost as much as you love Floyd.
    November 4 03:57 PM
  • rockandmetaljunkie The square was a great place with many restaurants which is a good thing because it gives you many options to choose from. But the place was filled with drug dealers, hahahaha. One approached me and offered me his goodies. When I denied, he offered me a discount, hahaha.
    October 27 10:10 AM
  • rockandmetaljunkie However, while I was in Sines, I was told of a beach with a huge, beautiful coastline, probably the one you're mentioning.
    October 27 10:06 AM
  • rockandmetaljunkie No, unfortunately I didn't had the time. I was immediately picked up by the agent and I went to a hotel in Lisbon. There, I had some time to look around and I went to Lisbon's town square (Rossio Square I think the name was).
    October 27 10:04 AM
  • rockandmetaljunkie Have you ever been to Sines ? I disembarked from that port.
    October 27 09:34 AM
  • rockandmetaljunkie lol, when I'm saying "officer" I don't mean a cop right ? I'm studying to become an engineer (The person in charge of the technical department on a merchant ship).
    October 24 06:16 PM
  • rockandmetaljunkie ahhh, bronchitis is sth common these days. I wish you well my friend.
    October 24 06:12 PM
  • rockandmetaljunkie So let me get that straight, you're telling me you're sick, meaning you're having a disease or are you in love ? :-P
    October 23 09:05 PM
  • No worries man, glad you you're ok. I've returned from the trip a month ago and now I'm attending the lessons of the second semester in the Merchant Marine academy. My next trip as a trainee (and the last one before I become an officer) will take place in July. Until then I will be at my home.
    October 23 09:01 PM
  • rockandmetaljunkie What's up man, it's been a while
    October 2 01:21 PM
  • OmairSh I'm not sure how many time you listened to that album, but Bilateral is one of the albums that took me the longest time to appreciate. There's just so much going on that it seems like a cluster **** initially. But when it starts revealing itself it becomes a masterpiece :-).
    September 24 01:08 PM
  • OmairSh Yo Trap, give Leprous' Bilateral another chance dude. A 3 is too harsh
    September 23 10:56 PM

    August 22 07:55 AM
  • Voivod Hi my friend, you would really dig this Nepalese tech death metal outfit - http://xtreemmusic.bandcamp.com/album/shiva-rudrastakam
    August 21 12:11 PM
  • Anthracks too late. i've changed my mind
    August 11 10:58 AM
  • Anthracks touch me
    August 3 08:45 PM
  • YUJOS Hahahaha. More like the grunge generation discovering the dark side...
    August 3 02:04 PM
  • YUJOS Seems that hipster black metal is the new trend so go figure....
    August 3 01:38 PM
  • YUJOS Belphegor never dissapoint! Very solid band! Don't know why they aren't mentioned with the big names of the black metal scene, I suppose they are not from Norway...
    August 2 04:13 PM
  • YUJOS Not quite, but they use deathcore breakdowns with some tech-death speedy parts in their songs. Give a spin to The Ills Of Modern Man to see for yourself.
    August 2 04:12 PM
  • YUJOS Hope we'll hear again something new from them in the near future. And we need also a new Despised Icon album as well. Have you heard anything from them man?
    August 2 02:48 PM
  • YUJOS Thy Art Is Murder are really good. Nice up and coming band. It's been some time also we've last heard something new from the Red Chord. Dunno know if they are on hiatus or something else band a great band indeed.
    August 2 01:33 PM
  • YUJOS Also the new Fallujah is worth the hype?
    August 2 11:30 AM
  • YUJOS Hello Notrap! The new album must be really good. Have heard three songs that they uploaded on youtube and the each one was better than the other! By the way the new Misery Index is very very good. Jammimg some deathcore the last couple of weeks so I am suggesting anything this time hahahaha.
    August 2 11:30 AM
  • Voivod True, I've visited Marseilles, Saint-Tropez and Monaco, great places, especially Marseilles, because the other two locations were terribly expensive, even if someone is merely standing on the road haha.
    July 25 11:03 AM
  • Voivod South of France is great, the university of Grenoble for instance, I have colleagues from Greece working in France and they said to me that it was the best decision of their lives.
    July 25 10:55 AM
  • Voivod It's a 50/50 chance to migrate abroad... Idk right now I have to conclude my present obligations and then I will review my options.
    July 25 10:54 AM
  • Voivod South of France? Don't remember saying anything like that... When did I say it?
    July 25 10:37 AM
  • Voivod Hey man, since I know that you enjoy death metal in general, I think that you will find this "name your price" EP interesting at least - http://www.sputnikmusic.com/news/31946/Essence-Beyond-stream-debut-EP/
    July 25 10:17 AM
  • YUJOS I understand you completely my frined. Seems the new Fallujah needs many listenings sessions. Only heard the two of songs they've released on youtube. Interesting stuff but not something mindblowing. Although I have to check the album myself to have a better opinion, but i think it will be the case as you said, that so much is going on in the songs but clearly something's missing overall.
    July 19 02:40 PM
  • YUJOS Man...how many albums are you jamming per hour??? Hahahaha. Yeah the new Fallujah must be pretty interesting. Hope to check it in the next couple days, to see if it worths the hype.
    July 19 01:58 PM
  • YUJOS Glad you liked the Atlantean song!! His the vocals are really awesome!!
    July 19 01:43 PM
  • YUJOS The vocals really turned me off in their debut album to tell you the truth. Thus I don't bother with their disco. The next album i 've heard of them was Immortallis which had a couple of cool songs but the others were simply meh...but holy s*** when i've heard Ironbound!! I've rated it as a 4,5/5!
    July 19 01:41 PM
  • YUJOS Yeah the new 'Kill has some really cool and fast really fast songs and tempos!! Haven't heard their disco except their last four albums and their debut. Seems the band feels rejuvenated the last couple of years some providing some really solid thrash.
    July 19 01:28 PM
  • YUJOS Ok! Take your time and tell me your thoughts after you heard the song. I think you'll dig it.
    July 19 01:20 PM
  • YUJOS Check : www.youtube.com/watch?v=p1x-jFr_Q0M
    July 19 01:11 PM
  • YUJOS Hellstar are not my cup of tea really . Have checked some songs in the past but didn't do anything to me. By the way as we speak for more traditional things, have you heard of Atlantean Kodex?
    July 19 12:49 PM
  • YUJOS Yeah i am planning after the vacations to start searching again for (i hope this time) a more proper work. Thank you also for the recs man! Haven't heard at all of this Alterbeast band ,but they seem to be pretty interesting!
    July 19 12:46 PM
  • YUJOS Pretty much I am jamming lately some more new "modern" stuff and also some current realeases such as the new Suicide Silence and Overkill. Currently listening the last one from Trivium which surprisingly seems to be pretty good. Give a jam to the last 2 albums from Inferi. They play a kind of melodeath (ala Black Dahlia Murder meets Arsis) with technical death metal leanings. I think you'll find it interesting. Do you have also any suggestions for me to check?
    July 19 11:14 AM
  • YUJOS I was working for the last 5 month after a "hiatus" of 3 years since the last time I was working... and now that the project has finished, I'm just sitting here in home waiting for the days to pass by so i can go to vacations.
    July 19 11:05 AM
  • YUJOS Hey man! How are you doing? Long time no talk. Everything ok with your life?
    July 19 09:06 AM
  • dannyboy89 I want to say that life becomes much easier when you don't care too much about other people's opinions. Everyone has a different opinion. People exchange those opinions in discussion, but we are all free to choose what to think.
    May 28 03:51 PM
  • dannyboy89 Do you think debating on Sputnik stimulates people?
    May 22 02:28 AM
  • dannyboy89 Sweet. I'm sure being a father must've had a major impact on your life.
    May 21 06:48 PM
  • dannyboy89 Out of curiosity, how many kids do you have?
    May 20 06:46 PM
  • dannyboy89 You're right man, I'm being silly.
    May 18 05:22 PM
  • dannyboy89 Also, the Mission is prob my fave Queensryche song, although many seem to prefer others like Eyes of a Stranger and Suite Sister Mary.
    May 18 02:30 AM
  • dannyboy89 Do you think there's nothing wrong with having favorite songs that aren't the same as other people's? For instance, Money is my fave song off Darkside, even though some people consider it one of the weaker tracks on it. Also, Tyrant is my fave Judas Priest song, even though many seem to prefer Victim of Changes, Dreamer Deceiver and Beyond the Realms of Death to it.
    May 18 02:30 AM
  • Voivod I'm fine as well and busy as usual, cheers!
    May 9 10:13 AM
  • Voivod Hi man, long time no hear. High Spirits have a new album out, check it out - http://highspiritsmetal.bandcamp.com/album/you-are-here
    May 9 08:45 AM
  • dannyboy89 The Priests are dead man, RIP 1974-1990.
    April 29 05:05 PM
  • dannyboy89 Thanks man, you're my sputnik counselor ;).
    April 26 06:40 PM
  • dannyboy89 Do you think there's nothing wrong with liking albums other people think suck?
    April 26 02:46 PM
  • dannyboy89 I think HiNF is petty cool, but yeah, for the most part I'm down with that. Q2K, Tribe and AS are passable imo. But the band definitely wasn't the same without Chris, and Tate's ego definitely brought them down.
    April 21 12:55 PM
  • dannyboy89 Do you think post-PL Queensryche gets more hate than it should?
    April 20 05:26 PM
  • YUJOS No prob man. I spinning lately a lot the aformentioned album. I can safely say now after multpiple listens that you' ll dig it a lot!
    March 19 05:10 PM

    March 10 03:58 PM
  • dannyboy89 What are some of your fave Testament guitar solos?
    March 8 05:52 PM
  • dannyboy89 Slayer's got some awesome riffs man. Been jammin' 'em today, and both Show No Mercy and Hell Awaits rule epically hard.
    March 1 03:49 PM
  • dannyboy89 Dude, what's your stance regarding illegal downloading of music?
    February 15 01:55 PM
  • dannyboy89 Dude, the first 3 Sabbath albums are just too awesome for words. Even after all these years, that music still feels relevant. I still need to listen to Vol. 4, SBS and Sabotage more, but the first 3 were easily the most influential.
    February 11 11:45 PM
  • JamieTwort Cheers bro.
    February 11 11:57 AM
  • dannyboy89 And yes, I've definitely been enjoying albums more these last few months, it's just a bit hard sometimes because some albums can be rougher around the edges than others.
    February 6 12:31 PM
  • dannyboy89 BTW, out of the Thrash Big 4, which band do you think had the best drumming?
    February 6 12:06 PM
  • dannyboy89 I meant "redo them or just plain 'em". And yes, I understand what you mean.
    February 6 11:36 AM
  • dannyboy89 Jamming Anthrax's AtL atm, such a sweet album. I kinda have regrets over having reviewed their albums in such a rookie manner. Dunno if I should redo them or just plain 'em.
    February 5 11:05 PM
  • dannyboy89 I really don't like AFJA as much as the previous 3 records but to each their own. All the same, it's a shame that they and Megadeth are mere shadows of their former selves. I understand their live shows are still pretty good though.
    February 4 01:42 PM
  • dannyboy89 Man, I'm having a hard time choosing a fave Metallica album. RtL is awesome and all, but so are MoP and KEA. Such timeless records.
    February 4 12:46 AM
  • dannyboy89 Dude, I think Master of Puppets is growing on me a bit, some cool riffs on it. Not sure if it might become my fave, but still a fine album no doubt.
    February 1 08:46 PM
  • dannyboy89 Killers is fantastic too.
    February 1 11:56 AM
  • dannyboy89 Jamming Maiden's debut dude, amazing record.
    January 31 10:21 PM
  • dannyboy89 Check out my latest list, if you please.
    January 31 12:17 AM
  • BigPleb So stoked, gonna wait for the whole thing to leak.
    January 29 05:16 PM
  • BigPleb Ye, its 7/9 tracks dude.
    January 29 05:12 PM
  • BigPleb Where did you get the full leak bro? It's incomplete everywhere else.
    January 29 05:10 PM
  • BigPleb Does it rule hard? Evangelion level?
    January 29 05:03 PM
  • dannyboy89 Dude, I noticed you only have 4 Led Zeppelin albums rated.
    January 29 10:48 AM
  • dannyboy89 In your opinion, what are the weakest Testament albums?
    January 21 06:41 PM
  • dannyboy89 Have you seen Megadeth and/or Metallica live?
    January 13 09:54 PM
  • dannyboy89 I agree, Promised Land is much better. Album's okay, but just needed a bit more. Also, I didn't like the production on it.
    January 10 11:14 AM
  • dannyboy89 I did a list of Judas Priest songs, and I'd like to see your opinion of it. It's the last list I made.
    January 9 01:34 PM
  • rockandmetaljunkie haha, surprised ? No, I don't know Portuguese, I just found in the following greek page the wish "happy new year" in all possible languages. http://www.sport-fm.gr/article/2014-elpides/741869
    January 1 10:39 AM
  • rockandmetaljunkie feliz ano novo Notrap, I wish you all the best
    December 31 02:13 PM
  • dannyboy89 As of now, what do you think of Queensryche's last album?
    December 15 11:34 PM
  • dannyboy89 How's it going? What have you been jamming lately?
    December 2 05:16 PM
  • YUJOS Thanx man.
    November 29 12:46 PM
  • YUJOS No prob man. I really really hope they don't **** this album with with the re recorded version. As for me, same things down here my friend. Hope I'll get some good news for a job application i've made the previous days. So as for now i'll have to wait.
    November 29 11:19 AM
  • YUJOS Hey Notrap. What's up. Everything ok? Saw this today... I hope the won't ruin the whole album. http://www.metalsucks.net/2013/11/18/manowar-mixing-session-like/
    November 19 09:34 AM
  • rockandmetaljunkie Thanks man, I also wish you the best and to find the strength to overcome whatever obstacles you find in your way.
    October 26 09:56 AM
  • rockandmetaljunkie I mean it is probably, but what made you change your mind now, after all these years ?
    October 26 09:53 AM
  • rockandmetaljunkie Everything's a crook ? Wow, I wasn't expecting a reaction like this from you. I remember you telling me that you watch football fanatically. What happened ?
    October 26 09:51 AM
  • rockandmetaljunkie I'm ok man thanks. I've started my studies on the marine academy, which I'll attend until March, and then I will leave embark again on a journey, but this time it will be official.
    October 26 09:47 AM
  • rockandmetaljunkie Hey Trap, what's up man ? Everything's ok ? It's been a while since we last spoke. If I remember correctly, you're a supporter of Benfica. What was your impression of the champions league match between olympiacos ? And what are your predictions for the match that will take place in Greece ?
    October 26 09:08 AM
  • MaidenUFO Hi Notrap, everything ok? Any rec for new cool stuff? I think the previous year was better than this, although some really good albums have released this year...
    September 2 06:38 PM
  • OmairSh More intense than Problematique? :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fi8NyQvhCUc, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9o2nVY8FZ0
    August 15 11:02 PM
  • YUJOS Well that's my upgraded score hahahaha. But to tell you the truth I am not really a fan of this kinda stuff.
    August 5 01:45 PM
  • YUJOS Hello Notrap. Checked Aeternam. It's like hearing Orphaned Land with power metal riffs and growls. Ok album has 2-3 good songs but just that.
    August 5 12:39 PM
  • YUJOS No haven't heard of Aeternam. Will check it man. Thanx for the link.
    August 3 04:40 PM
  • YUJOS Yeah Necrocrasy is a solid 4 also for me. I have to find the time to listen some prog stuff like In Vain. Recently I found a band here called Witherscape. It's a new project from Dan Swano. I am sending you link to check for yourself : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EwsLxPBknOk
    August 3 03:39 PM
  • YUJOS From In Vain, i've heard only their previous album "Mantra" and if i remeber correct it was something like progressive black stuff? And I remeber I've heard a song from Aenigma that had more of a progressive death influence in it, that i really liked. So the question is: Their new "AEnigma" album has more prog death elements than prog black?
    August 3 02:49 PM
  • YUJOS Ok man thanks! I 'll give them a spin sometime.
    August 3 02:13 PM
  • YUJOS I am not telling anything more. Spin the albums and I think you'll dig some of their stuff.
    August 3 02:03 PM
  • YUJOS Ahahahahaha! Seems that Dr Radcliffe knows his s***!
    August 3 01:48 PM
  • YUJOS Well Devildriver is melo but not Swedish melo.
    August 3 01:46 PM
  • YUJOS Hahahaha. Is he a member of the band?
    August 3 01:44 PM
  • YUJOS Also cheek anytime Byzantine. Thrash metul with lots of melodic riffs. I think you will dig them. Hope you enjoy also Chimaira and Devildriver. They started as nu metal bands and they went in completely other directions ... I am saying anything so to not spoil it hihihihihi.
    August 3 01:41 PM
  • YUJOS Hello man! Not really a fan of Carcass earleir works. Jammed the song that you send me. Seems that someone has ripped Corporeal Jigsore Quandary hahahaha.
    August 3 01:36 PM
  • YUJOS I don't know if you like Chimaira and Devildriver. Haven't heard their albums (i think only Chimaira is out at the moment) but it some of the modern stuff i really dig.
    August 2 05:07 PM
  • YUJOS Yeah I can understand what you are saying about Gorguts. Sometimes their songs although as good as they are, theytend to be dragging a little bit. About new releases now I liked the new Exhumed and I have gave some spins to the new Mercenary and Revocation. I kind agree with your score about Revocation. Though I need to give it more spins, as a first impression itit's like a mess sometimes.
    August 2 05:05 PM
  • YUJOS From Gorguts I've heard only the 3 songs which they put out. But from what i've heard i'll have to wait a little bit till the album comes out and buy it, probably with the new Ulcerate also.
    August 2 03:53 PM
  • YUJOS Ah. I understand. A little bit from everything from Carcass then. I've heard Cerekloth but I dunno. I liked very much some tracks but the others didn't do anything to me. But I think they have their potential if they find their sound for better things.
    August 2 03:49 PM
  • YUJOS By the way, how was the new Carcass? Is it any similar to Heartork?
    August 2 03:32 PM
  • YUJOS It doesnt' have the orthodox psalms it's more straithforward. Give a spin to this song to see if you like it yourself. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vY0xzccRG_M
    August 2 03:31 PM
  • YUJOS Hello Notrap. How are you doing man? Saw that you are "digging" some christian metal aka Dead Congregation hahaha. By the way have you checked their ep?
    August 2 02:01 PM
  • OmairSh Gilmour p/

If you want, from the albums of 2013, check the new one by Warlord....Some months ago i had told you again from this band to check their classic album "Deliver us"....Here in Greece, Warlord is one of the top 5 favorite metal bands ever, and this album is considered a masterpiece....So whenever you can, check their classic album "Deliver us" and their new "The Holy Empire".....KEEP ROCKING MAN!!! /m/
    July 4 03:39 AM

  • MaidenUFO hahahahaha yes metal and heavy metal seperation is fail....but props that they seperate progressive metal...
    June 27 10:21 AM
  • MaidenUFO Hi man, what the **** is happening in musical taste? :P
    June 27 10:02 AM
  • MaidenUFO You never know man, this period indeed is not my stuff....But one of my friends listen Behemoth and i had listened some of their classic songs, and reallythey were perfect for headbanging with awesome drums!
    June 21 04:26 PM
  • MaidenUFO Yes man, this time i am checking melodic death metal bands but my totally favorite is Dark Tranquillity...If you check from them "The Gallery", you will like it better than their new one, is more raw,, it's not light and catchy and with amazing riffs! Anyway, maybe next year i will start listening bands like Behemoth, who knows....
    June 21 11:40 AM
  • MaidenUFO Hey man, you have a long time to make a new list! I am looking forward to seeing your list about the best albums fo far in 2013....By the way,I Know that you are not a power metal die-hard fan, but if you are in an a power metal mood someday, check the new album of Stratovarius "Nemesis"....It's really very good! I am waiting for a new list man! :D
    June 20 07:14 PM
  • dannyboy89 Thanks man, you're easily one of my fave users.
    June 18 06:23 PM
  • dannyboy89 Dude, it's been kinda embarrasing ever since I admitted that I only listened to albums once. I've been working on fixing that, but it's tough because users prey on vulnerablity. Just wanted to tell you, since you are the least judgemental user on sputnik (or one of them at least).
    June 17 09:34 PM
  • SgtPepper That was an incredible listen. Especially the first song, pretty fast and heavy for a 70s album. I've never heard these guys, but the album is fantastic. Especially the guiar work.
    June 14 11:02 PM
  • SgtPepper Hey, man. I was wondering if you've heard of May Blitz. It's a band I've discovered recently and have been meaning to review. They're a blend of psychedelic rock with prog and blues tendencies. I think you'd really like them: youtube.com/watch?v=HbAqDAN2SIE
    June 14 09:19 PM
  • MaidenUFO yeaah, i have understood that, but i dont think the album is light and catchy, it's just melodic death at their best...anyway, if you check any new interesting album, just tell me :)
    June 2 03:26 PM
  • MaidenUFO 3 only to the album? :( how many listen did you gave to the album? i really believe you should dig better this....
    June 2 02:14 PM
  • MaidenUFO Hey man, everything is ok? i started again listening albums, i haden't free time these months, but now i am free :) If you wish, check the new album of Drak Tranquilly...check for example this song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-V4FLxX2RJY
    June 1 05:24 PM
  • Titan Pure musical ignorance indeed my friend.......their loss!
    May 25 03:10 PM
  • Titan Agreed hard on the sheep!
    May 25 03:04 PM
  • Titan It's funny because I'll share an experience I've had from long ago about a show, album, or time period and there will be some 'kid' who just heard that particular album for the first time telling me I'm an idiot, lol. The constant bashing of The Wall is a great example......

  • Titan I love music bro, listen to it whenever I can. I like coming to Sputnik because it does have a great deal to offer. However, I'm not satisfied with the user base as I find a large percentage of it to be very immature with nothing to offer. I even find myself getting caught up in some 'nonsense' from time to time. There are some great users as well though, such as yourself, which is one of the reasons I still post.

  • Titan and yes, when it comes to the Dallas Cowboys, I'm definitely a 'fanatic'.....tough living here in NY too because most New Yorkers are Giant fans, who are a huge divisional rival with Dallas......it can be very tough for me at times being that I'm outnumbered by them!
    May 25 01:59 PM
  • Titan likewise man!
    May 25 01:53 PM
  • Titan Rednecks are usually stereotyped as from the southern portion of the US with a 'lower class' income. To my understanding, there really aren't anymore cowboys under the traditional sense of the word, but I could be wrong. I'm a New Yorker who was born and raised in a suburban area 15 miles east of Manhattan. I usually travel to Dallas each year to watch some of the games, and like anywhere else in the US, it is a mixed community by both nationality and income level.
    May 25 01:22 PM
  • Titan haha, yeah something like that....although I don't think the cowboy hat, boots, and spurs etc. would go over too well around here!
    May 25 12:52 PM
  • Titan i actually live in New York City....just happen to be a Dallas fan!
    May 25 12:43 PM
  • Titan yeah bro, just turned 37 in April.....where are you from?
    May 25 11:31 AM

  • YUJOS "...personally I think their music will be more effective with less intrusive elements" maybe, but I think they could have lost that way the creepy atmosphear that they have in their albums.
    May 15 06:41 PM
  • YUJOS No prob with that man. One modern touch as you say that i really really liked was in the Suffocation album.
    May 15 06:30 PM
  • YUJOS " I know what you mean, but that happens in all their albums...to many guitar layers and intrusive drumming" yeah I agree with that. If i recall correct though i ll have to spin again the new album to be sure, I thought i was hearing three guitar parts at some point in the same song.
    May 15 06:19 PM
  • YUJOS Personally as a more "modern production" I will have to go with their previous album. I mean you can hear everything without sounding too much "computerized".
    May 15 06:13 PM
  • YUJOS That's the only fault i found with the production. I believe the band wanted this time around to go with a more straightforward album and this kind of production I suppose it's ok. It's modern, it's powerfull, I think it suits the album well. What's you 're take about the production man?
    May 15 06:02 PM
  • YUJOS I mean if you hear closely they are some evil "riffs" played in the background but you have to be fully consetraded in order to hear them cause they are buried mostly underneath some leads while at the same while the cymbals sound is also high.
    May 15 05:59 PM
  • YUJOS I really don't agree about Dolan's perfomance this time. I think it's kinda flat...About the production now, as i was jamming the album today again, I noticed some some riffs played in the background (some creepy stuff) that didn't got my attention upon the first couple listenings sessions i gave the album, that imo definetely needed some boost, thus i think the reason that the album lacks some of the creepy atmosphear.
    May 15 05:56 PM
  • YUJOS I've been jammin' it the last couple of days. Shalaty slays on drums but it' doesn't have the song(s) to blow my mind like for example the self titled, or a glorius epoch from their last one. But overall it's a pretty relentless record, which is a good thing to me since lately I haven't heard so much pummeling records.
    May 14 06:37 PM
  • YUJOS Hello man!! How are you doing? If you have time check this band. I think you'll dig it. Here some samples from the new album. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqYsRuyeCng

    April 25 09:16 AM
  • branflakes911 Weird. I feel like that picture is so familiar, but I have no idea why that would be. Pink Floyd is cool but I'm not really into them. Also he looks totally metal in that picture. I would never have figured that out.
    April 12 02:18 PM
  • ChuckyTruant uhh dude you were cool until you called Soilwork metalcore
    April 10 10:52 PM
  • dannyboy89 I'd love to hear a sample of your playing sometime, if that were possible.
    April 10 03:35 PM
  • dannyboy89 I dug all your Running Wild recs. I possibly enjoyed Blazon Stone the most, though Port Royal is pretty close.
    April 7 07:00 PM
  • branflakes911 Ugh. I don't even know if you're kidding or not. At least give me a hint.
    April 7 03:27 PM
  • branflakes911 Hey man, who is in your avatar? I know I know but it's been like a year and I still haven't figured it out. So I give up. Best guess: Dan Swäno
    April 6 09:29 PM
  • dannyboy89 UJR's pretty good, though I think it could've used better production. I'm jamming Blazon Stone atm, and it's pretty impressive.
    April 4 01:54 PM
  • CaptainDooRight cool thanks bro I hope you dig
    April 2 01:39 PM

    March 26 01:23 PM
  • dannyboy89 Well, at least we agree more or less on Petrucci (personally I'm not the biggest DT fan). Interesting influences dude.
    March 26 01:21 PM
  • dannyboy89 Dude, what is your opinion of John Petrucci? And do you think Slash is overrated?
    March 25 08:18 PM
  • dannyboy89 Would you say that Gilmour, Tipton, Friedman, Van Halen and Trevin are your main influences on guitar?
    March 21 05:21 PM
  • dannyboy89 Do you think Kirk Hammett is overrated?
    March 20 11:39 PM
  • dannyboy89 Dude, have you been recording any music?

    February 16 04:06 PM
  • Voivod These days, I can't focus on writing, but this one is too short and easy in describing, maybe I will post something today or tomorrow.
    February 13 01:27 PM
  • Voivod The vocals are in the vein of Tom Araya and I found them to be decent. Musicianship slays.
    February 13 12:55 PM
  • Voivod Whenever you can, listen to this awesome thrash demo - http://blackmassband.bandcamp.com/
    February 13 12:36 PM
  • dannyboy89 Dude, I can't get a look at the new reviews. No wonder my latest review has only been commented by one user.

  • dannyboy89 Hi. I'ts been a long while since my last visit. I wanted to ask you, where is it one clicks to "dig" an album/band?
    February 4 05:05 PM
  • Voivod I find Hate to be equals (if not better) to Behemoth, after all they started playing this king of death/black metal together, give or take. Yet, Hate pass as copycat Behemoth band to the metal press in Greece and above.
    February 4 01:31 AM
  • Voivod Saw your Deivos soundoff.. You should really check the recent Hate (also from Poland) album http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_p-qqHqSEU
    February 3 08:24 AM
  • ThrashUpYourChode Notrap lives \m/
    February 3 07:17 AM
  • MaidenUFO Hi again man! I don't know if you like black metal, personally i dont like it so much but i am listening all the time last month Rotting Christ, the most famous greek band....Just check this band and i believe you will love them! The best thing about this band are the RIFFS! For example Check this song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHW2CF4GF-8
    February 1 01:36 PM
  • MaidenUFO Relly nice track with the piano....I will check this out some moment...
    January 27 06:41 PM
  • MaidenUFO Yes, he is from Fates Warning.....I can't say with words how amazing this band is....Do you suggest the new album of Helloween? I have heard in general good comments for the album...
    January 27 08:58 AM
  • MaidenUFO Hi Notrap, i hope everything is ok! If you want to listen a really great progressive metal album in the future, make yourselv the favor and listen "Snowfall On Judgment Day" by Redemption....This band is easily my next favorite new prog band after Circus Maximus...their song are very melodic, but the difference with circus maximus is that they are very heavy too! Whenever you can, listen this band and start with this album....
    January 26 04:48 PM
  • YUJOS Also i agree completely with what you said about Katalepsy. Indeed a very good mixture between slam and brutal death metal. I wish we could hear more from this "combination" in the near future.
    January 21 11:07 AM
  • YUJOS And Then You'll Beg kicks major ass and i really like better Mike DiSalvo over Lord Worm. It was kinda unique back in the day to hear a hardcore voice in a death metal record, but the music and technicality displayed in the album were also top notch.
