 | robertsona it's some sort of fantastic. yesterday i thought it was mediocre; now i feel like it's completely alluring. dean blunt is definitely capable of "better" but this sort of self-destructive pseudo-pop (what am i typing) is something i honestly feel like i haven't heard before. not in quite this form. great album
 | robertsona share yr thoughts on dean blunt - the redeemer. i am using you for all you have
 | robertsona gimme some 2013 albums. you seem like the man to ask
 | Rail It's all the synonyms for 'luscious' you can think of. From me, to you: http://www.mediafire.com/?mg89mqeqqj8lcd5

 | BaselineOOO I need transcendental beautiful music that isn't boooring
 | OnlyBants Try at least 5 times. Completely absorbing, but I just cannot commit to a score thus far. Prolly a 3.5-4 as of right now. How about yourself?
 | OnlyBants how is one able to listen to all the new erst stuff w/out purchasing it first? I would pay, but I'm 16 and in the UK so it's a bit difficult :(
 | mindleviticus oh **** yeah mah nig my motha****a arnold is incredible
 | RinaKettysamour Plaisir d'amour ne dure qu'un moment. Chagrin d'amour dure toute la vie ;_;
 | Rev Thanks! And yeah I get you, but I absolutely love their songwriting and vocalists, and the fact that their songs modulate like 12 times throughout haha
 | Rev hate to keep bugging you bro, but got any new sweet digs? also i love those livetune and Sayonara Ponytail albums, so great. have you heard supercell?
 | mindleviticus I see you like Andrew Chalk. Have you heard this one? It's probably my favorite of his.http://www.sputnikmusic.com/soundoff.php?albumid=103753

 | kingsoby1 Don't get the ghost face hate :( younges productionis so refreshing, totally revitalizes that old wu sound.
 | mindleviticus I have not. Is it any good or have you heard? I was thinking of checking out that Andrew Peckler album you rated up there though ^ I heard bits and pieces of Cue and thought it was great, so I def getting that! Also check out my latest review!
 | mindleviticus Sit down after eating a bunch of advil and after running like a madman and just lay on your bed with this on. It's hypnotizing.
 | Havey so many 4s omg, best year evr??
 | patrickfannon Listening to the new Kurt Vile right now, and it's super f*cking chill. Love it.
 | patrickfannon Milk Music LP is really, really good, but I expected it to be mind-blowing, so I'm a little let down. I think it might grow on me a bit. I need to check out the new Sigur Ros. Seems interesting. I like that both they and the Lips went dark this year.
 | Rev I found a link right after I asked haha, but thanks a lot, will check those out!
 | Rev hey man, wanna hit your boy up with some new recs? I have like nothing from March/April. Also where did you get that Sayonara Ponytail album?
 | GiaNXGX Yes, the football playa; album touches your soul
 | GiaNXGX ya bish in other words it's run of tha mill eai, nice textures in display there but lacks direction and meat. my soundoffs just keep getting worse n worse lol
 | patrickfannon Hey bud. I'm going to get to a lot of your reccs over the weekend. Sorry my interactions have been so sparse. Give me your email address?
 | Havey need to listen again but it does rule, if you're familiar with his stuff you should know what to expect (and that is awes downtempo tunes)
 | Havey YESYESYESYES thank youuu can't wait to listen! have you tried that new Bonobo album, by the way?
 | DroopyOfDeuceKicks Hi MisterTornado,Do you have a professional email I can contact you via? I have something you might be interested in.- Droopy Deuce Kicks
 | foxblood yeah dude it's amazing, at least an easy 4. it's like taking a nap in a rain forest
 | Shadow17 Thanks again. Have a nice weekend!
 | kingsoby1 pretty good. classic soul, but adrian younge's production is incredible, really cinematic/ spaghetti western influenced. i'm probably at a 3.5, cause i'm not a huge fan of their falsettos.
 | Shadow17 Dude, I love your fringe music reviews and lists. Love the music. Help a bro out, can you share were you find some of the music you love? I used to visit Silent Ballet and still visit After The Post Rock/Dusted Magazine among others. Could use some more sources! Thanks a lot. Have a good one.
 | kingsoby1 you should put your name in your profile. i was going to reference you in a review, but cant now b/c referencing "MisterTornado" sounds ridiculous!
 | GiaNXGX broova, yo, jast made a new rym profile add mah http://rateyourmusic.com/~Astigmata
 | Rev Haha thanks man. It's nothing terribly fantastic, but I hope you find it enjoyable enough. I'm currently working on my full length (don't ask when it's coming out though I don't know
 | Rev Thanks man, I've only heard the Cornelius release out of those but I love it, so I'll be sure to check out the rest! Plus I love a ton of the stuff on your new list. Also, not to be a complete self promoting douche, but have you heard my stuff?
 | DeafMetal yea it's one of my favs. are u familiar with her project frau fräulein with billy gomberg?
 | Graveyard my aoty so far, check it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YgLKo6yg5GQ
 | DeafMetal hey nice anne guthrie rating -- yea 1 of last year's best albums period
 | GiaNXGX Everything docperkins rates leaves you clueless i mean, the man is an atonal robot
 | mindleviticus Well I head he was blind at the time of making this album and anything on the radio that he could conjure up, he found interesting and would make into a song. The album is too good to comprehend. ONE DAY, MISTERTORNADO, I WILL DO IT GREAT JUSTICE!
 | Rev congrats on contrib dude! also i was wondering if you had any sweet 2013 recs cause i'm slipping on keeping up with new stuff
 | patrickfannon I bought Maston's "Shadows," so I'll be listening to that on the commute to work this week. I like some free jazz, but since I stopped smoking weed, some of it can be too obtuse for me. I'll give it a shot, though, so hit me with some reccs. I could really go for some more Kirby/Caretaker to dig my teeth into as spring blossoms. One can hope.
 | mindleviticus Oh man.... I don't even know how to talk about it, I've been trying to analyze the lyrics to i trawl the megahertz for a long time now
 | mindleviticus great review of the new paysage d'hiver album man. you trawled that album so fkin hard. i'm loving the album a lot
 | ethixx same! and i have no idea, i might go back to their bandcamp since i enjoyed vibraquatic so much
 | ethixx saw you added them into the database and was surprised people knew about them here. which album did you listen to?
 | ethixx lol, you like bitchin' bajas?
 | mindleviticus I TRAWLED THE ****ING MEGAHERTZ LAST NIGHT DUDE NO WAY!!
 | patrickfannon I dug Local Natives so far, but have not listened to really anything new this year. What's going on in your world? What would I like? I need more Leyland hymns, too, bud. I want to go back to the ballroom.
 | breakingthefragile Haha hell yeah man. Or promotions 'till us part you could say. ;D I really like that though, "'till deaf do us part".
 | breakingthefragile Hey, I don't think we've ever really talked, but I do see your comments on a lot of my reviews, and I've read a few of yours, and I think you do great work. So congrats on the promotion to contrib man. Happy to have you on the team!
 | Havey only heard two Kengo albums so far, and they're both brilliant (the others are frikin impossible to find, if you find em pls let me know), though neither of them is really a better starting point than the other, ugh it really doesn't matter they're both omfg, idk dude flip a coin or something
 | GiaNXGX 'Couple months erst will email ya in appreciation yea... I'm not well acquainted with Akita's collaborations, what's up with that chicken you're diggin?
 | RosaParks thanks. hope you are having a nice night.
 | RosaParks just wanted to stop by and congratulate you on contrib. I think you deserve it and are a great user. Don't tell anyone i said this so i can maintain my cool status on this site. Thanks.
 | GiaNXGX oh my god man, ohhhh *starts dancing in celebration,* lets spread the obscure love :*
 | mindleviticus By day and night, fancy electronic dishes are trained on the heavens. They are listening for smudged echoes of the moment of creation.
 | GiaNXGX dude we need to talk about movies, have you watched satantango?
 | mindleviticus Kay I underestimated this album a tiny bit.You might like the 2nd track a lot, but the first track has absolutely nothing
 | mindleviticus I tried to get into this new one but there's literally nothing redeemable here that I could pick out. Let's just say I liked Canto a lot more :p
 | mindleviticus If you didnt like Dolphins into the future's canto album, you're going not going to like his new album at all...:p
 | dannyboy89 http://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/55146/Seal-System/ Please comment.
 | clercqie The label has some of the best releases around today. All of them are huge! But 5 seems to be extra ridiculous, just insane.
 | MadKungFu Can you give me a link to Come Cry With Me? I'm 10 minutes into Sleep Beneath The Willow and it's already my favorite country album of this decade.
 | GiaNXGX I no brit :[ happy here tho http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-K6vSuFsd7gY/UMAlFh1BpfI/AAAAAAAABs0/rcf763q2HX0/s400/6e2743983b1511e2917a22000a9f1587_7.jpg
 | GiaNXGX will hav to take a long-ass walk with astigmata (my cat) then!!
 | GiaNXGX dat exai 4.5[2] still haven't heard, 2 hours is way too much autechre.. not prepared yet.
 | dannyboy89 http://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/54990/Seal-Human-Being/
 | GiaNXGX thanks mister, lets cherish a lemonade in a sad sunny day with http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8AQ75X1X1BI
 | GiaNXGX hope he's resting in peace, wait..why wouldn't he? the man died with honor, in the very name of his ideals. The body may be gone, but words are eternal.
 | GiaNXGX damn bro seppuku is the real s***, didn't you read what happened to Mishima!!
 | mindleviticus Oh man. New Pisaro album? Can you hook a brotha up?
 | andcas I had to add them to the database. you're welcome.
 | YankeeDudel ha nevermind I just found one. props for reviewing it though thats the kinda stuff this site needs more of.
 | YankeeDudel hey man can you throw me a link for that fire orchestra album? its ****in great
 | ilovetree actually found it on rutracker just now, thanks though (:
 | ilovetree What is this s/t Sandwell District LP that you rated. I can't find it anywhere online.
 | GiaNXGX dam man u should get promoted, u will turn sputnik into an eai fanbase
 | patrickfannon Have not seen Fire Walk With Me, but I've heard from two people who really love the show that they hated it and wish they hadn't seen it. I rented it from Netflix once but never watched it. Are you planning to see it, or have you seen it?
 | patrickfannon So you made it back from the Grey Lodge, huh? Good. I'll get on that Country soon. Maybe tonight.
 | patrickfannon CHILL. I will definitely check him out. I've been making my way down your 2012 list(s). You have some varied, maniacal, and awesome taste, Tornado. You finish Peaks yet?
 | silentpotato u better be referencing what i think you are referencing
 | silentpotato dude u have better taste than 90% of this site if i give u a rough time its because i love you ;]its always nice to go to an artist page and expect to have to add an album to the db and see that you already did it and are the only other user that has it rated, which happens quite frequently
 | mindleviticus haha tomorrow is saturday ;P and I've given this like 4 listens and it's great :D
 | mindleviticus Yup this definitely is quite good. I'll have to listen to it a few more times, but from what I can hear it is pretty damn solid
 | mindleviticus Haha well, I'm playing hooky today from school, so I'll listen to it now.
 | Aids hahaha you nailed it with Lifehouse
 | Aids hmmm although, this is the artwork at RYM (much better) http://static.rateyourmusic.com/album_images/c9dd06bca570bc2ef0269f57c51bc4e9/4286901.jpg -- maybe someone added the wrong artwork in the sput database?
 | Aids big 123 on your Low soundoff, ugh that's easily their worst album artwork yet. I'm still deciding how I feel about the music, but I know I love love love the first two tracks.
 | patrickfannon I could maybe do a "Music I Have Enjoyed In 2012" but I feel like any ranked list would be so lean and lame. I really did not keep up with new music this year. I've listened to maybe 25-30 albums more than once.
 | Havey Ah, shame, but fair enough. At least we can agree on jackman ;)
 | patrickfannon Dude, no best of for 2012?? I guess your overlooked lists sort of take its place, but... I was really looking forward to a comprhensive set from you, dude! How about a top 20?
 | mindleviticus I thought it was great. The only problem is on the song Verde, with my download, it got mixed with another song called Pallid by Gridlock, so I'd be listening to the calmness of it and then all of a sudden it'd ****ing change to industrial!! Wtf??!
 | Rail Sorry for the late response. I have the Nono on CD, but I could upload it somewhere for you if you want?
 | mindleviticus So I'm listening to the new Dolphins into the Future album and I'm a bit curious, because I have no idea how to describe it. How would you describe it?
 | patrickfannon YES. Dude, I am so stoked. Let me know where you are and your pace, I'll watch along with you! It's so amazing, man.
 | GiaNXGX agreed. Really sexy drink it is! ^.^. Have you heard of Sasha Grey's music project 'aTelEcine.' Fabolous, a tasty mixture of minimalist waves and industrial drones with noise/dark ambient. It's really down-rated on rym but I love it, our taste is similar in that area so maybe u will enjoy it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJvFiDKWr2Q
 | GiaNXGX electro-acoust improv was really solid this year, sinewave also. To be honest EAI/musiq concrete/sine are some of my fav genres but I can't listen constantly cuz tinnitus ya know?
 | Havey Some of the best atonal chamber music I've heard, gloomy and detailed to perfection.
 | GiaNXGX I just noticed you have added tons of Erstwhile stuff here on sputnik, why? Nobody cares about EAI it seems :[
 | RiffOClock dlin that en/ledesma split, thanks4the heads up bro
 | Havey nah been way too busy absorbing Ten Freedom Summers and Fremde Zeit Addendum lately (huge albums as i'm sure you know), just wanted to know if it's worth checking out cuz i gotta prioritize all the s*** on my list of stuff to check out
 | Havey what's your opinion on Juppala Kaapio - Animalia Corolla
 | patrickfannon Haha, I found SELA through your list, dude! I will certainly check out those other beat spinners. I'm really digging this laid-back, nostalgic approach that guys like SELA and Jincallo are taking. Mellow, soulful stuff.
 | patrickfannon Of course, brother. I just recently got into Bandcamp. There's some really great music on there, just waiting to be plucked up and discovered. It's wonderful.
 | patrickfannon Check out Jincallo, Tornado. Think you'll dig him. http://jincallo.bandcamp.com/
 | BaselineOOO just kidding, I just decided to delet my last couple of reviews lol
 | Rikardur What if you aren't pretending to like both Bish Bosch and The Seer?? :O Do you believe in such possibilities?
 | mindleviticus The song Constant Reminders is pretty bad, but the rest of the album is solid.
 | mindleviticus Oh man, it's sounds a lot like Orbital's older stuff like Snivilisation at times and then other times it sounds really shoegazey and VERY retro. He brings the beats on this album as well. I may like it even more than Tragedy and Geometry, and I may do a review of this :]
 | mindleviticus Hey man, check out the new Steve Hauschildt album :] It's so good.
 | patrickfannon I've honestly been listening to a lot of older music this year, but so far I love Flying Lotus, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, John Talabot, The Men, Cloud Nothings, Japandroids was sick, both Mount Eerie (but definitely Clear Moon better), Cemeteries, and now the new James Blackshaw. Holy s***, it's phenomenal. Wish our friend The Caretaker would give us an early gift for Christmas, though...
 | patrickfannon It's awesome. I'm on the verge of bumping it up to a 4.5. It's like an odd jumble of Beach House, Arcade Fire, and Pink Floyd. "Roosting Towns" is really incredible. Great find. The Twin Peaks thing is certainly there; the whole jazzy, surferish vibe is intertwined well. Going to cruise the list more in the coming weeks.
 | patrickfannon dude, i am trying my darndest to get through your overlooked list(s), but damn you listen to a hell of a lot of music! also, there are some serious gems in there. you should curate a music blog. when people tell me there's no good music anymore, i think of you. i will point them here.
 | mindleviticus Hey man, do you have a link to "Michael Pisaro - Fields Have Ears (6)"? I'm really digging these ultra minimal sounds
 | YankeeDudel Hey could you hook me up with DLs of Diamond Terrifier, Eli Keszler, King Tears Bat Trip, Jason Lescalleet, and Keith Rowe? The more avant-garde stuff on your list is cool.
 | mindleviticus Oh s*** man, I'm sorry , tarkus already gave me a link to the album. You should def check it out though.
 | Graveyard dude that mooncreatures ep is mindblowing = EOTY
 | patrickfannon I feel like that Philip Jeck album I just rated is directly up your alley, Tornado. Check it out with a good pair of headphones alone on a spooky night. Gives me the creeps.
 | mindleviticus I see you've listened to The Boats' new album. I'm loving it as well, very mellow :] Have you heard the new Tor Lundvall album? I can't listen to the whole thing because I can't find it anywhere :[
 | mindleviticus Yeah, but I thought that "Does It Look Like I'm Here? captured that atmosphere perfectly. Even though I did like the new album, I thought it was sloppy, too different, and static from their previous stuff.
 | mindleviticus Listening to it now, holy christ I was not expecting this. The first song - in my opinion - was horrible, but I'm starting to get used to this new sound. But god man that first song is terrible.
 | mindleviticus And I'm pretty good as well, have to finish my last year of high school - you know how it is - and my birthday's coming up! :]
 | mindleviticus Aww nice, I love Steve Hauschildt's Tragedy and Geometry. Really looking forward to this now. :]
 | mindleviticus How's it going Mr. Tornado? How does the new Emeralds album sound? I'm going to listen to it tonight, but is it as good as Does It Look Like I'm Here?
 | patrickfannon I'm really wary of the newer Dylan stuff too, man. I can kind of appreciate it for what it is, but I will never like it as much as his 60s-70s material. Interested to check out the Titanic song, at the very least, and also the John Lennon tribute song. The new MONO album is fairly weak; I was very disappointed. I bought it after seeing all the lackluster reviews here, hoping to disagee. Sadly, I don't. Anyway, I'm going to start digging through your lists soon. Keep in touch, brother.
 | patrickfannon Hey bud. I'm really trying my best to stay up on music this year, but I'm so busy with work. It's bulls***. I'm going to check out your recs this weekend. I started listening to the Swans album, but only got a song or two in. Hopefully I'll love that. Finally got around to Ocean's Roar... It's good, but not really my favorite sound for Phil. I still prefer the folkier stuff, like "Dawn" and "The Glow Pt. 2." I just picked up the newest Grizzly Bear and that sounds pretty cool so far.
 | Graveyard Just received it and it works just fine. Thanks your amazing.
 | Graveyard Lol that's fine :] but it seems I never got it, do you mind if you send it again?
 | Graveyard yes sir, zacharylindsay111@yahoo.com and thank you :]
 | Graveyard gotta a dl for that holograms album, dear sir? it's amazing
 | patrickfannon Yo. You're the coolest. So glad I found you before all these Cretins did. Hell yes.
 | patrickfannon Son of a bitch released it on iTunes the day before I posted that last comment. I have no idea how you fit this much music into your life, Tornado, but I admire it greatly. You'll have to compile a short list for me with stuff I'll like. Also, listened to An "Empty Bliss" the other night, drunk, at 4:00 AM. God, I still love that so much.
 | patrickfannon So, I can't find "Ocean Roar" anywhere. Phil got pissed about it leaking, so apparently he's only selling it on vinyl at his live shows. Still have not heard it. What's new Tornado? How you been, bud?
 | liledman It's great, texturally it just nails it. Beautiful sounds.
 | liledman Not sure where I got it originally, but I can't see any readily available links now, sorry.
 | YankeeDudel Hey can you hook me up with DLs of King Tears Bat Trip and the Tikiyaki Orchestra? Ive been raping some of your lists/ratings and I dig your taste dude. Good stuff.
 | patrickfannon Also, yeah, new Fang Island slays. I'm very, very biased, as I've seen them live a couple times and love everything about them, but it's the ultimate positive music. It's so over the top, just makes me laugh. Milk Music kicked ass, too. Hope all's well my dude.
 | patrickfannon You check out this Om sh*t yet? It's pretty rad. So opium-ed out and humid.
 | Damus you like Cousins? **** yeah!
 | patrickfannon Same, man. Digging Bob Dylan recently. Just saw Japandroids last night. Show was legit. Rock and roll as ****. Drop me some recs, dude. Could use some new s***.
 | BaselineOOO They're all weaker than Kyary though, are you sure you even like J-pop?
 | BaselineOOO Hitomi - Thermo Plastic; Rurutia - Seirios; Takako Minekawa - Cloudy Cloud Calculator. I like these, they're serious growers.
 | patrickfannon Ty Segall, kicking ass and taking names. What's up, Tornado?
 | BaselineOOO Only checked a few J-pop albums this year, all of them were sub-par apart from Kyary Pyamu Pyamu...
 | BaselineOOO OMG WHO THE HELL CARES? 2012 is awful, you should check all albums from 2007, 2006, 2001, 1997 instead.
 | Knott- Can you throw me your email address? Like to talk to you.
 | McMegaMountain Excellent. Your opinion is very much appreciated and respected.
 | McMegaMountain Any plans to do one of your "overlooked albums" for 2012?
 | BaselineOOO Who cares? listening to albums amplify your soul a lot more than real life experiences in my opinion lol. And haha yes those genres are terrible.
 | BaselineOOO You rated more albums in 2012 than everyone else, including me nooo! but hey I avoid metal, rap, indie folk releases so I could've surpassed you if I wanted to. (:
 | patrickfannon "The Glow, Pt. 2" is easily his best album. It's fantastic. Although, "Dawn" is a personal favorite of mine.
 | patrickfannon Glad you liked Mount Eerie, man. It's a very nice record. If you liked it, I would definitely recommend his back catalogue. Check out the Microphones "The Glow, pt. 2" and Mount Eerie's "Dawn," "Black Wooden Ceiling Opening," "Wind's Poem" and "Lost Wisdom." I'd go in that order, too.
 | Jash I dl'd it from the link you sent but no matter what program I use to open it there's always an error unpacking the files, I don't know if you have another link or not, but of you do that'd be dope
 | Jash hey man, could you point me in the direction of that Spaceghostpurrp link puuulllllleeeeeaaaaassssseeeeeeee
 | patrickfannon Yeah, man. I couldn't beging to express how much I hate that album. It acutally gave me a headache and pissed me off. Have you given a listen to Mount Eerie's "Clear Moon" yet? Also, I just got the record "Pope Killdragon" by Strand of Oaks. I know folk isn't generally your thing, but I think you'll like this one; it's got fantasy lyrics and some electronic brush strokes.
 | patrickfannon I think you would love pretty much all of Mount Eerie's catalogue, to be quite honest. Definitely check out "Clear Moon," though. It's one of my favorite albums of the year thus far. Very moody, brooding, pensive, and haunting.
 | patrickfannon I hear you, man, and I almost always agree with you musically, but I just get the distinct impression that the whole thing is a put-on. I mean, the guy is from Allentown, PA, and there's just no way I am buying the whole cowboy routine from him. Sometimes, fusions of styles just do not work, and I think that is the case with Daughn Gibson. I also very much dislike his voice; it is too theatrical for my taste. Agree to diagree! And keep those recs coming, man. I need more Tornado picks.
 | patrickfannon I'm on it, Tornado. Wish I had some recs in return. The only new albums I've listened to are Maps
 | patrickfannon No. Where can I find it? Is it a music video or a short film? Now I might not be able to sleep...
 | patrickfannon I just bought it from iTunes. I'm stoked, especially after reading the review. Thanks for the heads up, Tornado. Miss rapping with you, man. I hope all's well and you're enjoying this year. You can actually watch all of Twin Peaks on Netflix at the moment, by the way. Get on it, dude! You'll thank me later. Be well, pal.
 | patrickfannon Good man, Tornado. Thanks for the look, as always. You get on Twin Peaks yet, my dude?
 | patrickfannon Keeping up with new albums. It's too much now that I have a job and the internet became facist-run. I used to be able to bang out a good 5-6 albums a day, when the torrent gods were smiling upon me. These days I'm lucky to get to one or two a week. What's your top 5 for the year thus far? I'll try those.
