| Iamthe Nightstars I was really impressed with it. I found the louder and more aggressive songs to be the weakest and the more melodic ones to be the best. But seeing how there's only about three tracks I'm not too fond of I thought a 4 was an appropriate rating.

I usually use albums that represent isolation and feelings of being cut off to help me feel like there is someone out there who understands me, even though I know the songs weren't written with that in mind. Albums like Mayhem's de Mysteriis Dom Sathanas and Darkthrone's Transilvanian Hunger in particular really help me to do that. Do you like any black metal?

| Iamthe Nightstars That Talons' album 'Rustic Bulls***' was seriously my favorite album I came across last year. It's so bleak. There's been so many times I've fallen asleep listening to it half drunk last summer. And yes, I am Reconvene. Haha. The reason I made a new account was because I scrobbled songs off my new computer and I didn't have nearly as many listens on my windows media player than on my old computer at my parents house so I made a new account because it wouldn't let me scrobble the old ones.

Like if a new Owen album is out I already know what to expect going into it so I initially like it. Sometimes I can be picky and completely overlook something just because I feel like it wasn't done right or because I'm anticipating something else, but months later, sometimes even a year or two I can finally warm up to it.

| Iamthe Nightstars It's funny because when I discovered AF about five years ago I saw a lot of people strictly calling them indie and it seems like all of a sudden people started calling it emo recently. I think they get the emo tag mostly because of Mike being in Cap'n Jazz and a lot of current emo bands that take a lot of influence from them. I've heard of DMST before but haven't listened to them. | Iamthe Nightstars I agree its very well executed. Nothing too amazing but theres hardly a dull moment in the ep. The beginning of the last song with the scream seemed kind of forced and out of place with the rest of the album though. I feel like the guy is capable of putting out something better in the future.

Although there's always plenty of music you'll like no matter what age you are. Maybe trying to look into some blogspots that post music would help? There's tons of them out there that give descriptions of bands.

If you listen to so much of one genre it all eventually starts to sound the same. Sputnik is a great site to discover new music. I'd suggest sampling the albums on here that get a lot of praise. Or try listening to something you normally don't listen to and see if it grows on you. I'm always here to rec any lesser known gems too, haha. Just not always sure if they ar
