  • Iamthe Nightstars There's some good stuff on the new Eluvium album. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9Yj2bUOLMo
    September 15 09:57 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I've come across it while searching for albums but never really got too familiar with the site. I'll have to look into it sometime.
    September 14 05:58 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Nice to see some other sputnikers are digging it.
    September 4 02:32 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Well, I've only got 12 plays from yesterday on bandcamp, lol. But that's 12 more that wouldn't have happened if you didn't review it. So thanks =)
    September 2 01:14 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Another thing, I actually didn't use an ebow on any of these songs. The synth parts in Art Weingartner do kind of resemble an ebow though. It's funny though because I just bought one a couple of weeks ago and plan on using it in future recordings. Lol
    September 1 10:45 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars But I hope you know I'm really thankful you wrote this.
    September 1 08:36 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars The guy that said that gave it a 3. The other guy that gave it a 2 didn't said it was bad but good for a debut. Looking at his pie chart it doesn't really look like this would be up his alley anyway, haha. Which is fine. Just to let you know for your review summary the quote is "you showed up in jeans". Here's the speech for that sample in case you're curious. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHCXsKkY2Xo
    September 1 08:33 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Would you mind if I posted the link to my facebook? I'd tag you in it too if that's ok with you.
    September 1 07:45 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars This review is one of the nicest things someone has done for me in a while. I feel like I owe you a favor.
    September 1 07:39 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I love the review! It seems like you really understood what I was trying to go for with it. Don't be discouraged by the comments. Half of this site are trolls anyway, it's really nothing to get worked up over. I'm not even hurt by that 2 rating. It's kind of relieving actually. I've only got positive response thus far from this EP so it's nice to see a different opinion to let me know what I need to improve on. Are you sure you want itd? It's really not as bad as some are making it to be,
    September 1 07:38 PM
  • Futures still regaining my energy but i should be back to normal in a few months i hope!
    September 1 06:33 PM
  • Futures haha just ignore those guys they obviously have a bias against you. i'm doing fine man! i have been in remission for about 4 months now!
    September 1 06:28 PM
  • Asdfp277 Already penned two critiques yesterday, and I got s*** to do. You can feel however you want to feel about it, however
    September 1 05:35 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Ok, I just put it in the database.
    August 31 11:42 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I liked that Secede song. I'm not too familiar with electronica but it was cool. Hmmm. Do you think if I made an artist page for it then it would accept the review?
    August 30 11:48 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars This is some great indie folk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6gEUa2g9cI
    August 28 12:33 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Not too impressed with the new AF song.
    August 23 12:14 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars The music in that Walkabouts song is nice, but the vocals are a bit much for me. I wouldn't even know how to go about digitizing songs with a turntable. I hope you can figure it out so I can hear that song. Have you heard the latest Helios album? I heard a couple of songs from it and it's some really uplifting stuff.
    August 20 12:48 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars This is a nice post rock song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKFx-f1PmDo
    August 10 10:06 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars It sounds pretty good but it's hard for me to really judge because I haven't listened to this type of post hardcore for a while now. I thought of Underoath at the beginning but toward the end I'm not sure what to compare it to.
    August 10 08:51 PM
  • Greem thanks)
    August 5 11:17 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I've only listened to this a few times but it was kind of refreshing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXRkWMkb0-4
    July 29 12:33 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars There's some good stuff on this album. Reminds me of Brand New a bit. I especially like the part from 2:10 to the end. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FEZ2ifTZubI
    July 27 03:50 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Wow, I'm not sure what to say. That's really cool to know that my music has had an effect on someone like that. I think the thing I like least about it besides the length is that while I think the tracks are in the order that they should be they don't really flow into each other very well.
    July 25 01:01 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Lol. Yeah that sounds about right. I could give you the original master too if you want. It's a little more compressed sounding but a little more clear as well. I didn't like it much though because it didn't sound as natural but if you want I could upload it for you
    July 22 11:51 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I'd be humbled by a review, but it's up to you.
    July 21 01:27 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I'm happy to hear that. Thanks, I appreciate your feedback. Yes, I know it's short, but I like to think in terms of quality over quantity. At least there's no filler.
    July 20 05:29 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Hey my instrumental album finally got mixed and mastered. Hope you like it. https://greengrassformiles.bandcamp.com/releases
    July 19 05:19 PM
  • Futures oh nice! texas is the reason is one of my fav 90s emo bands for sure. blue boy is prob in my top 10 emo songs
    July 17 03:45 PM
  • Futures i tend to agree for the most part. what have you been listening to this year though?
    July 17 03:28 PM
  • Futures yo man you got any 2016 emo recs?
    July 15 02:30 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars It's nice. I've only heard his first album though
    July 10 05:53 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars That's pretty great. I think I'll check more of their music out.
    July 6 01:40 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Speaking of Owen it looks like his new album just leaked. I'm listening to it now.
    July 2 01:37 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars No problem. All of his albums are good sleeping music. I remember I used to fall asleep to his album Rustic Bulls*** a few years ago when I discovered him. He's like a more dreary Owen
    July 2 01:25 AM
  • lazyeye i hope so man. but anyways it good to hopefully have this all behind me. nice to be living life a little worry free for the meanwhile at least.
    June 28 12:54 AM
  • lazyeye yeah. i just didn't want to deal with that so i left for a while. mods didn't give a s***.
    June 27 02:57 PM
  • lazyeye thanks man. guy is such a egotistical prick. he also likes to dox me posting my name and pictures
    June 27 02:35 PM
  • lazyeye thank you so much man. basically pots harassed me off this site making fun of the fact that i have cancer and kept telling people that i was making it up.
    June 26 01:29 PM
  • lazyeye yeah i am. can't exercise or anything without getting exhausted.
    June 25 03:00 PM

    June 24 06:15 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I've known about this band for a long time but I just found this. Haunting stuff. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94g3bhPtvrI
    June 21 07:51 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars This is glorious. https://northatlanticdrift.bandcamp.com/track/sun-dial
    June 20 07:46 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars The Hotelier song "Soft Animal" is amazing though. I wish I could have wrote those lyrics.
    June 15 01:37 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars That Veils song is cool. Nice guitar melodies. Their song "The Nowhere Man" made me think of Zookeeper. I liked the new Hotelier album better than the last one, but yeah, still can't say it's amazing. I've become a little more judgemental when rating albums now compared to when I first started rating albums.
    June 15 01:35 AM
  • Parallels In one of my old lists you said only believe me with a picture and a timestamp lol
    June 12 02:43 PM
  • Parallels I'm almost 5 years late, but here's your pic and timestamp
    June 11 11:50 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Here's another link for that song. https://elskavon.bandcamp.com/track/anda
    June 11 12:22 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars The first few songs of that TMP album sound pretty good. I'll have to listen to the rest of the album eventually. It made me think of this emo rock band I found a while back. Catchy stuff. https://passingastarfighterband.bandcamp.com/track/fair-weather-together-2
    June 8 10:55 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars This album is quality ambient post rock like Slow Dancing Society and Helios. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OlQmK-SoeIw
    June 8 10:53 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Thanks I'll check it out
    June 3 08:17 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I discovered this ages ago, but was surprised to see such few views on it. It's the guitarist from Cap'n Jazz and Ghosts and Vodka. Just gorgeous guitar lines. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugxmXpyObcw
    June 1 02:11 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Maybe a little. I bet singing again with AF has helped.
    May 29 02:10 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars On first listen it sounds to me like just another Owen song. More of the same. But for some reason that's an exception for Owen. I guess maybe it's because he does what he does so well. It's beautiful.
    May 25 05:36 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Finally some new Owen. https://soundcloud.com/polyvinyl-records/owen-lost-1
    May 25 05:09 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars This album is really good. Heroine is probably my favorite track. The first song is probably the weakest but even that song is pretty good. The vocals are somewhat unique for the genre. The album doesn't seem to have much attention online though I was surprised to see. https://laquerelle.bandcamp.com/album/home-a-beautiful-place-to-get-lost
    May 18 04:25 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I'm excited to put it out but I'm actually not in too much of a hurry at the moment. Maybe it's because I just finished another project that I'm waiting to be mixed and that metal one is also close to being done with my friend only having one more song to record vocals for. Everything OK with you?
    May 1 10:51 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I've got one more song left for tracking guitars. I have some ideas for the vocals but haven't recorded any yet. Not sure how long that's going to take, but I don't want to rush it and not be happy with it so if it takes all summer then oh well.
    April 28 01:58 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I listened to it. Not sure how much I like it, but it's definitely very innovative. A lot of the lyrics are hard to understand though.
    April 27 09:18 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars This is a project from the bass player of Gleemer. Solid stuff. https://thesebashfulclaws.bandcamp.com/album/everything-all-at-once
    April 12 12:40 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars That sucks, If you still can't find a job maybe you should consider moving elsewhere? Yeah I've got two more songs to record and then do vocals for it.
    April 10 05:44 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars It's pretty cool. I'm not having much luck finding new music lately. A little frustrating. Have you been?
    April 5 12:45 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Happy birthday!
    March 24 12:10 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Too bad. He must have some other similar songs.
    March 7 04:00 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars No, I just came across that on youtube. I'm not sure that song is from an album. I did a search and couldn't find one.
    March 6 03:31 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars This is moving. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNl916LJSY8
    March 5 12:06 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars It's crazy how much this sounds like Owen. His voice needs a little work but I'd say everything else is up to par with most Owen material. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9emyZxQUCpk
    March 3 09:59 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I came across that album on bandcamp before but wasn't too keen on it.
    February 29 11:33 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars The only similar enough album I can think of right now is Owen?s self titled. You can never go wrong with Hammock. I?ve fallen asleep to their albums more times than I can count.
    February 28 12:27 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars That does sound like a good title. Maybe I?ll use it. Haha. Sorry to hear you?re still looking for a job. That must be really tough. I don?t know if I would say being sober has influenced my writing but it has given me more motivation and drive to write and record. I think it?s basically because I?m not too tired or hungover to care and I have more time since I?m not busy getting drunk.
    February 28 12:26 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars music much lately except for some bands I already know that had new releases. How are you doing?
    February 25 12:48 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I?ve been fine. Studying a lot for my human diseases class. There?s a lot to remember. I?m finishing up recording this instrumental song that I should have done by tomorrow. I think I?m going to have four instrumental songs I?ve recorded over the past year released as an ep before I finish this emo ep. Other than that I?m a little over a month away from being a year sober. I can?t believe it?s been a year already. Time really seems to fly by with work and school. I haven?t been looking for new
    February 25 12:47 AM
  • Futures that's true man it's all going well! btw any 90s emo recs for me? just looking for some stuff i might have missed
    February 10 05:27 PM
  • Futures not sure yet unfortunately.
    February 9 06:24 PM
  • Futures ah man flicker is absolutely incredible. i'm doing well man! reacted a lot better to chemo this time and radiation is going well.
    February 9 11:43 AM
  • Futures hey man been getting back into emo again lately. have you ever heard time spent driving- just enough bright? incredible album.
    February 7 11:53 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I never got into the genre mainly because I find the instrumentals kind of boring. This song isn't bad though.
    February 5 02:39 PM
  • Futures hey man i'm doing alright! starting up the next part of treatment radiation and more chemo.
    February 1 10:52 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars t can really be done to prevent violence. It?s just human nature. I?m not really familiar with Bloomberg but I think it?s too late at this point for anyone to enter the race. I think most people have already made up their minds.
    January 31 11:40 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I think as far as preventing gun deaths and crime gun control and gun free zones are useless. And there is a lot to back that up. Criminals don't buy their guns at stores and get background checks they get them from other criminals. Given America's obsession with guns and that there's more guns than people in the U.S. a prohibition seems nearly impossible and yes, I think would do even more damage if it somehow happened. I'm not sure what the solution is but I don't really think there's much tha
    January 31 11:39 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars , or Sanders. I've heard a few songs from that New End Original album before. It's not bad but doesn't do much for me.
    January 29 02:23 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Yes, this is not a very good election this time. Fiorina had one strong debate performance, but otherwise is pretty forgettable and kind of blends in with the rest of the crowd. Rubio comes off as sincere and trustworthy and has been very good in earlier debates. He has a decent shot at winning being 3rd in the polls right now. The problem with him though is that he's very comparable to Obama. People are calling him the gop Obama. But I think I would rather have another Obama than Trump, Clinton
    January 29 02:21 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Sorry for the spam, I'm not sure why it didn't go through the first time.
    January 27 03:56 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars movement. Do you pay much attention to what happens in the U.S. or just the more major events?
    January 27 03:55 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars people are supporting him as he?s definitely incompetent with no political experience and has some irrationally stupid ideas. I can?t say I like Sanders much better. I could be wrong about him. He might be able to do some good things but I strongly disagree with his socialist ideas. If it does come down to Trump/Sanders I might end up voting for Gary Johnson of the libertarian party. Even though my vote wouldn?t matter at least I would be voting for someone I like and supporting the libertarian
    January 27 03:55 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Yes, his chances are slim unfortunately, but I think he's the best option as all of the other candidates want big government. I agree with Paul's ideas more than any of the others. I believe this country could really benefit with a more libertarian political style but I think because this type of philosophy is still in its early stages a lot of older people that are making the decisions right now are more stubborn with their views. This whole Trump thing feels like a bad dream. I don't know why

  • Iamthe Nightstars Yeah, I passed with A's. It just sucks though because of work I can only take about two classes a semester so it's going to take me around six years to finish a two year degree.
    January 23 02:38 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Yeah, it's a great album. He's going to release another one this year too. I just started my new semester this week.
    January 21 05:57 PM
  • Futures good to hear man. spent it with my family had a great time.
    January 5 06:31 PM
  • Futures thank you so much man! how were your holidays man?
    January 5 01:11 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I've never heard of them before. This song has a great atmosphere though. I might have to check out more of their stuff. Talons' dedicated a song to Carissa's Wierd on his new album. https://talons.bandcamp.com/track/song-for-carissas-wierd
    January 4 11:29 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Good to hear. Mine was good as well. I had my older brother and his wife and niece and nephew travel here from Wisconsin so that was cool for a change.
    December 27 05:29 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Thanks, you as well. How was your Christmas?
    December 27 12:00 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I've heard good things but I never got around to watching it. I'll have to put it on my list.

  • Iamthe Nightstars It's from the show Louie with Louis c.k. I'll link you the scene when I get home later
    December 18 08:30 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I don't know why but I always seem to have a soft spot for samples in songs. The content in this sample is really interesting. I never thought of things this way before, but it kind of makes sense. https://holdoncaulfield.bandcamp.com/track/louie
    December 17 05:26 PM
  • Futures yes it is! feeling a little better already. didn't know this was going to be so hard. hardest thing i've had to do in my life.
    December 12 06:34 PM
  • Futures sorry man i was in so much pain after surgery the next few days i just slept. basically slept for like 5 straight days. 10 hour operation. everything went great according to the doctors!
    December 12 06:19 PM
  • Futures thank you so much man. means so much :]
    December 7 01:16 AM
  • Futures hey sweet! your recs are usually sweet so i will def add that to the list man. actually i don't know if i told you but i have my surgery to remove some of the cancer on monday.
    December 6 02:38 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars It's nice. Makes me think of Sigur Ros.
    December 1 12:16 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars A condenser mic is great for picking up a lot of sound. I also use a mic stand and a pop filter (very cheap accessory). Otherwise though I don't really have any other sound equipment. I recommend a big quiet room like a basement. This site has some good tips. http://ehomerecordingstudio.com/acoustic-treatment-101/
    November 25 07:06 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Wow. That's crazy that they would let in one million refugees in just one year. With all the problems they seem to be causing Germany it's no wonder a lot of countries don't want them. Not to say that they are all bad people but you would think they would show more gratitude for letting so many of them in. That Stratford 4 song is beautiful but the vocals are lacking a bit.
    November 25 07:01 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars were only going to let 10k in. So it?s like playing the lottery for whoever would have been able to get in.
    November 21 12:37 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Interesting. I'm just very weary of the middle east. It doesn't seem like there will ever be peace there. You make a good point about the refugees but it looks like the U.S. senate passed a bill yesterday to not let them in. I can't help but think about how other countries must really hate America when we do something like that. A lot of people here are mad that the senate did that but I feel like it doesn't really make a huge difference to the refugees anyway. There's 4.3 million of them and we
    November 21 12:35 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars refugees being accepted in my state.
    November 18 12:54 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I can?t say I blame the people for running at the concert from guys with automatic machine guns, but with just being three shooters I think that there definitely could have been fewer deaths. Especially if France didn?t have strict gun control laws. I?m not too educated on the subject but do you feel like Islam is supporting Isis? Or not doing anything to make the situation better? And I feel like I could say the same thing about American politics. I must admit I am a little nervous about Syrian
    November 18 12:44 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars How is everything going where you're at right now? I just heard about a shootout in Paris that happened an hour ago.
    November 18 12:18 AM
  • Futures thank you so much man :]
    November 16 03:51 PM
  • Futures this seems to be normal procedure regarding cases like this. luckily the chemo has worked well enough so far to shrink it so the doctors can try and take out as much as they can
    November 15 11:20 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I'll be sure to get around to it eventually then.
    November 15 12:16 AM
  • Futures pretty good man! i have some pretty exciting news. i'm having surgery next month to remove a bunch of the cancer.
    November 14 03:56 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I still have only been listening to the newest album but it's really good. The first and 6th song are my favorites. It's some really heavy stuff. I'm anticipating hearing Outminded. Did you bother to listen to the first one?
    November 11 07:51 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars https://www.mediafire.com/?mo4bmhb8ozecssf
    November 9 10:44 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I can see the TWBF comparison. I thought the new Foxing album sounded a lot more mature and consistent than their first album. I feel like the song "Eiffel" was a better version of what Pianos Become the Teeth did on their newest album. That Apple of Discord song is probably the best song on the album. The rest I feel is kind of average indie, but I haven't made a final decision yet. I uploaded it for you so you don't have to waste your money if you end up not liking it. Lol.
    November 9 10:40 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars You might want to give the new Foxing album a try. I was skeptical because I didn't like their first album that much but decided to give it a listen after seeing all the high ratings for it on here. There's some beautiful songs on it.
    November 4 12:27 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I don't think you have sent me that before. It sounds alright but it's too short to judge so I'll have to sample the album.
    November 4 12:14 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars It's still weird to think that they are working on new material. It's a good thing too because I can't listen to their old songs anymore. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Kk5oF-bH9M
    November 1 02:08 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars This song is cool. The beginning and end is post rock kind of like ABC. It gets more progressive rock toward the middle. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCleQHfVTDw
    October 28 12:31 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Yeah, my semester is done a few weeks before Christmas. Sorry to hear you're still jobless. Ha, that would be cool if we could play together. I hardly have a chance to play music with anyone anymore. All of my musical friends live pretty far from me.
    October 28 12:30 AM
  • Futures Totally agree with that. Probably my favorite emo song honestly.
    October 27 08:26 PM
  • Futures Did it again haha
    October 27 08:24 PM
  • Futures Damn rest of your post got cut off haha. Stupid ampersand lol

  • Iamthe Nightstars I've been recording a little here and there, but it's a lot harder to find time and motivation with school and work going on. I think I'll be able to get a lot more done in between semesters soon at the end of the year. A friend heard my metal ep and wanted to record vocals for it so I have that to look forward to. Anything new with you?
    October 27 01:25 PM
  • Futures Coming along great! Lot's to listen to still! Just listened to Penfold- Our First Taste of Escape and really liked it. I didn't even know it existed somehow haha.
    October 26 06:20 PM
  • Futures Hey I think you might dig the new So Hideous album. Nice cinematic feeling post rock with a little black metal influence.
    October 26 03:38 AM
  • Futures Interesting man. I fully support pretty much all independence movements. Makes no sense keeping people under rule like it's the middle ages.
    October 19 08:22 PM
  • Futures Huh I had no idea about the Flemish independence movement. Explain to me a little more.
    October 19 07:47 PM
  • Futures Hey that's cool man! I love soccer. I am a huge Chelsea and United States national team fan. Must be exciting for you being from Belgium. National team is looking incredible.
    October 19 02:47 AM
  • Futures Huh interesting! Are you a football fan?
    October 16 05:11 PM
  • Futures Oh cool! Is English your second language then?
    October 15 03:20 PM
  • Futures Thanks for the concern though it means so much man. Where are you from by the way?
    October 14 07:18 PM
  • Futures The outlook is looking pretty good man. I had a CT scan a few weeks back and all the cancer cells had shrunk by about half.
    October 14 07:10 PM
  • Futures I don't mind sharing man. I have thymic cancer a rare cancer that has to do with the production of white blood cells. It's usually 2 or 3 days after I feel pretty sick then a few days of being really sore and tired. Other than that it hasn't affected me to much man. I'm very thankful. Just thank god I'm young and in good shape.
    October 14 06:12 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars That Kilowatthours album is solid 90's emo if you want me to upload it for you. I just wish the vocals were higher in the mix.
    October 14 04:51 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I downloaded their last album on bandcamp because it was free. I?ve only listened to half of it but I was impressed with how heavily emotional it sounded. It kind of reminds me of that In the Wake of Giants album but unfortunately that album didn?t stick with me after many listens. I think this might be better though. I?ll probably get the other one once I?m familiar with this one.
    October 14 04:28 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars It's interesting how emo is still such a misinterpreted genre with how many bands there are. With all the high regarded bands and more obscure bands we keep finding how is it still that 90% of people think Hawthorne heights is emo? Lol
    October 11 08:30 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Oh no, I was replying to your last comment on here. I replied to your youtube comment on youtube. Haha
    October 11 08:26 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars It's hard to come across, but when I do it's usually refreshing
    October 11 05:16 PM
  • Futures Totally. Really loving digging into 90s emo gems. So much stuff goes unnoticed!
    October 10 07:07 PM
  • Futures Haha that's crazy man! It just has everything going on. The classic jimmy melodies, the acoustic overlay, the strings on some songs. It's crazy.
    October 9 08:37 PM
  • Futures As such a huge Clarity fan I think I might be up to the task!
    October 9 01:07 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I dig it. The ambiance is a bit overpowering but it works.
    October 8 09:12 PM
  • Futures Wow I'm blown away thanks for reccing me that Last Days of April album! It's so good definitely sounds so much like Clarity. Need to review this as well.
    October 8 03:07 PM
  • Futures I agree man. Going to check the EP tonight I think. How Slowly We Forgot, Paris and The Great Depression are all really really great songs.
    October 7 07:13 PM
  • Futures Yeah I'm really taking my time and enjoying these albums. Like a ton of these don't have reviews or only have less than 10 ratings haha! I just listened to Cross my Heart- Temporary Contemporary and thought that was incredible
    October 7 07:02 PM
  • Futures Haha figured you heard them all man. I'm making the ultimate 90s emo list. It needs your approval haha.
    October 7 03:55 PM
  • Futures Hmmmm I'm sure you've heard all of these but I'm digging deep to find those 90s gems. Mock Orange, Pop Unknown, Edaline, Cross my Heart, And None of Them Knew They Were Robots, Time Spent Driving, Reno Kid, Leiah, Ariel Kill Him, God's Reflex, Bob Tilton, Boilermaker, Bells on Trike, Ethel Meserve, Waxwing and Very Secretary.
    October 7 03:25 PM
  • Futures Dude they're already on my list I sampled a song and they seem really awesome. Can't wait to jam them. What is slowcore anyway though?
    October 6 07:58 PM
  • Futures Huh interesting thought that would be right up your ally. I just jammed The Casket Lottery- Moving Mountains. Incredible album, you dig that?
    October 6 07:48 PM
  • Futures Nobody in emo even comes close really. I'm sure you have but have you ever jammed Edaline?
    October 6 06:52 PM
  • Futures Chris Simpsons lyrics are just incredible. Really loving the Lull in Traffic EP.
    October 1 07:11 PM
  • Futures Hey thanks a ton man! That first rec sound especially sweet. I just listened to The Gloria Record for the first time yesterday. Amazing band can't believe I never did before!
    October 1 03:08 PM
  • Futures Ah sweet thanks dude. I've actually been listening to a ton of 90s emo lately. Probably my favorite genre ever. Got any not obvious recs?
    September 30 08:21 PM
  • Futures Hey man I have heard about half the singles album which i really need to get on hearing the rest. Christmas Card, What Would I Say to You Now and 77 Satellites are all incredible. And I didn't even know these Clarity demos existed! Where can I find them?
    September 30 07:05 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I thought the same about the vocals. I like a few Elliott songs but I find it hard to sit through a whole album.
    September 25 08:37 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Did you know about this band? It's the same drummer from Elliott. https://youtu.be/gNf4nSZDk60
    September 24 09:38 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I've been doing the yoga dvd from P90X. I'm pretty sure you can find a torrent of it if you're interested.
    September 23 06:55 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Interesting video. I feel like it's a representation of how society undermines children and doesn't teach them or give them the chance to do the things they can be capable of doing. Kids just aren't taken seriously and that can limit the impact of their future.
    September 23 06:52 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars The Sylvain Chauveau song was very emotional. Thanks for that. The link to the other video didn't work for me.
    September 21 11:41 PM
  • Futures i will keep that in mind man. just thanks so much.
    September 19 03:09 PM
  • Futures dude thank you so much that is truly heartwarming.
    September 18 10:08 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Interesting, I haven't heard that before. I've been on meds on and off since I was eleven. I'm not sure what's changed in that time but maybe I've finally found a way to get over my depression.
    September 15 06:07 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars This is nice on the ears. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDKLdtAcp3I
    September 15 02:15 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Nice, they came to my state last year but I didn't go. They don't even seem to tour the US that often. I was taking Prozac, nuvigil, and olanzapine. I feel like antidepressants don't really do much for me and I'm not really sure if they ever really helped much at all with how many different ones I've been on.
    September 14 06:13 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Good luck finding a job. The job market in the U.S. is terrible right now even for those with degrees. I hope things get better with your brother and that's great to hear about your mom!
    September 10 05:29 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars to how it will turn out. Other than that I'm back in school and have a few semesters left. I haven't drank any alcohol in over five months and stopped taking the medication I was on. I also started doing yoga recently along with other exercises. It's helped given me a sort of peace of mind which I really needed after these past five years. I feel a lot more stable and like I have it together and I think soley not drinking helped out a lot with that. So yeah, I can't really complain right now.
    September 10 05:27 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars The band I tried to start with my roommate dissolved quickly after one practice. It's really difficult finding like minded musicians to play with. So, as much as I'd like to get a band going and I'm just focusing my attention on what I can do by recording. I started tracking the other week for my emo ep. Hopefully I can have it finished by the end of the year. I think the hardest part will be deciding on the lyrics as that's the part I struggle the most with songwriting. But I'm looking forward
    September 10 05:25 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars How's life treating you?
    September 7 11:42 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I can't believe I've never heard this band before. I also can't believe they aren't more popular. It's an emo supergroup. It's the singer of Texas is the Reason and the guitarist from Knapsack/Samiam. This song sounds like a more refined TITR. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RIG5nyjatdU
    August 20 12:59 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I've listened to the album Bleed American many times but I didn't know about that song as it was a b side. It's really good. Definitely Mineral inspired for sure.
    August 16 10:44 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars This is a gorgeous acoustic ballad. I teared up when hearing the piano version of it on the tv show 'Rescue Me' the other night. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GduL585CGp4
    August 12 03:12 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I thought so as well.
    August 10 12:03 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Glorious sounding, I like it. And hah, well I'm not the first one to use old footage for songs. I only started doing it because it was more interesting than just a picture or cover art and then it sort of just became a hobby for me.
    August 7 12:45 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars How have you been? I found this on the front page reviews. Unique sound I thought. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWsJ7y2XUxM

  • Iamthe Nightstars Neat song. It looks like that guy has a massive discography. Have you heard much of it?
    July 26 11:17 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Thanks, I'm not too sure yet how I feel about their music as a whole, but some of it is great.
    July 23 01:44 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Yeah, I only watched two episodes but it kind of dragged. Maybe David lynch is just better at making movies.
    July 11 11:42 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I was watching the show Twin Peaks the other day and noticed how great of a theme song it had. Ghostly dream pop. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=srqIymNRVYc
    July 11 12:40 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I have some older guitars but those two are typically the only ones I play. I usually only play the other ones if I'm too lazy to change the tuning I want to play in. Lol. Sorry you have to play with gloves, that sucks. I hope it doesn't interfere too much with your playing ability.
    July 11 12:38 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Yeah, I do because I have the money and have been playing long enough for it to be a good investment for me. I've had a $900 Taylor acoustic for four years now and love it still. And I bought an $800 Fender jazzmaster last year. Are you having trouble deciding on what to buy?
    July 9 08:28 PM
  • Parallels ok ill try. thank you for taking the time to read that all and for helping give me advice and your opinion on the matter, it does help
    July 4 03:52 AM
  • Relinquished I don't feel any sort of way against/for you, but I feel the same. I reached out to certain users as a shoulder to rest on/ear to listen. if you're going through some s***, I'm here. obviously you're set on your point of view on things and'll resort to retorts when confronted about said views, but remember that experience isn't always a reliable guide to connect entirely different people to those you've encountered.
    July 3 05:12 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I don't listen to Arrows as much anymore but they are still near the top of my list. I'll probably revisit them when winter comes around.
    June 28 06:43 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Pretty cool chill indie. Looks like a video I'd upload. Lol
    June 25 09:37 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Lol yeah. It would be so much easier if it wasn't me doing everything all by myself. That's why this metal ep took so long for me to finish. School and work are factors too of course.
    June 25 04:11 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars And don't feel discouraged by my guitar playing. I've been playing for over a decade now and it took a lot of time and effort to be able to do what I can do now.
    June 25 04:09 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Thanks, I'm glad you got something out of it. I don't think I will continue with this project, at least not for now. I have an acoustic ep and an emo ep I've been meaning to get around recording so those come next. Lol
    June 25 01:56 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars This band played with Penfold when they reunited and went to Japan. Enjoyable ep I thought. http://youtu.be/e7rMLQMN5WM
    June 22 12:17 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Beautiful. I haven't heard a lot of post rock like this is is there a lot of it out there?
    June 21 12:14 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Pretty cool. Reminds me of Woodworkings a bit.
    June 11 10:34 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Yeah, I haven't heard much drone emo like that either. I think maybe the most impressive take on shoegaze emo I've heard was the first Sore Eyelids lp, but it didn't age well for me.
    June 9 10:35 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars A member of Barrow is in this band. Not bad, but I've yet to see any band master the shoegaze/emo combination. https://fleshandbone.bandcamp.com/album/close-enough
    June 7 10:25 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars You might like this. It reminded me of the last TWIAP ep. The songs don't flow that well though. https://worldsstrongestman.bandcamp.com/album/im-sorry-this-scares-you
    May 28 08:43 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I get along with my parents fine and it's cheaper so that's cool. But yeah, I don't have as much freedom/privacy or the ability to do some of the things I could before. The ep is instrumental melodic metalcore and it's only 15 minutes long. It should be finished with mixing and mastering in a few weeks I'll send you the link then.
