  • Iamthe Nightstars A condenser mic is great for picking up a lot of sound. I also use a mic stand and a pop filter (very cheap accessory). Otherwise though I don't really have any other sound equipment. I recommend a big quiet room like a basement. This site has some good tips.

  • Iamthe Nightstars Wow. That's crazy that they would let in one million refugees in just one year. With all the problems they seem to be causing Germany it's no wonder a lot of countries don't want them. Not to say that they are all bad people but you would think they would show more gratitude for letting so many of them in. That Stratford 4 song is beautiful but the vocals are lacking a bit.
    November 25 07:01 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars were only going to let 10k in. So it?s like playing the lottery for whoever would have been able to get in.
    November 21 12:37 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Interesting. I'm just very weary of the middle east. It doesn't seem like there will ever be peace there. You make a good point about the refugees but it looks like the U.S. senate passed a bill yesterday to not let them in. I can't help but think about how other countries must really hate America when we do something like that. A lot of people here are mad that the senate did that but I feel like it doesn't really make a huge difference to the refugees anyway. There's 4.3 million of them and we
    November 21 12:35 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars refugees being accepted in my state.
    November 18 12:54 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I can?t say I blame the people for running at the concert from guys with automatic machine guns, but with just being three shooters I think that there definitely could have been fewer deaths. Especially if France didn?t have strict gun control laws. I?m not too educated on the subject but do you feel like Islam is supporting Isis? Or not doing anything to make the situation better? And I feel like I could say the same thing about American politics. I must admit I am a little nervous about Syrian
    November 18 12:44 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars How is everything going where you're at right now? I just heard about a shootout in Paris that happened an hour ago.
    November 18 12:18 AM
  • Futures thank you so much man :]
    November 16 03:51 PM
  • Futures this seems to be normal procedure regarding cases like this. luckily the chemo has worked well enough so far to shrink it so the doctors can try and take out as much as they can
    November 15 11:20 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I'll be sure to get around to it eventually then.
    November 15 12:16 AM
  • Futures pretty good man! i have some pretty exciting news. i'm having surgery next month to remove a bunch of the cancer.
    November 14 03:56 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I still have only been listening to the newest album but it's really good. The first and 6th song are my favorites. It's some really heavy stuff. I'm anticipating hearing Outminded. Did you bother to listen to the first one?
    November 11 07:51 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars
    November 9 10:44 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I can see the TWBF comparison. I thought the new Foxing album sounded a lot more mature and consistent than their first album. I feel like the song "Eiffel" was a better version of what Pianos Become the Teeth did on their newest album. That Apple of Discord song is probably the best song on the album. The rest I feel is kind of average indie, but I haven't made a final decision yet. I uploaded it for you so you don't have to waste your money if you end up not liking it. Lol.
    November 9 10:40 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars You might want to give the new Foxing album a try. I was skeptical because I didn't like their first album that much but decided to give it a listen after seeing all the high ratings for it on here. There's some beautiful songs on it.
    November 4 12:27 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I don't think you have sent me that before. It sounds alright but it's too short to judge so I'll have to sample the album.
    November 4 12:14 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars It's still weird to think that they are working on new material. It's a good thing too because I can't listen to their old songs anymore.
    November 1 02:08 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars This song is cool. The beginning and end is post rock kind of like ABC. It gets more progressive rock toward the middle.
    October 28 12:31 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Yeah, my semester is done a few weeks before Christmas. Sorry to hear you're still jobless. Ha, that would be cool if we could play together. I hardly have a chance to play music with anyone anymore. All of my musical friends live pretty far from me.
    October 28 12:30 AM
  • Futures Totally agree with that. Probably my favorite emo song honestly.
    October 27 08:26 PM
  • Futures Did it again haha
    October 27 08:24 PM
  • Futures Damn rest of your post got cut off haha. Stupid ampersand lol
    October 27 05:36 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I've been recording a little here and there, but it's a lot harder to find time and motivation with school and work going on. I think I'll be able to get a lot more done in between semesters soon at the end of the year. A friend heard my metal ep and wanted to record vocals for it so I have that to look forward to. Anything new with you?
    October 27 01:25 PM
  • Futures Coming along great! Lot's to listen to still! Just listened to Penfold- Our First Taste of Escape and really liked it. I didn't even know it existed somehow haha.
    October 26 06:20 PM
  • Futures Hey I think you might dig the new So Hideous album. Nice cinematic feeling post rock with a little black metal influence.
    October 26 03:38 AM
  • Futures Interesting man. I fully support pretty much all independence movements. Makes no sense keeping people under rule like it's the middle ages.
    October 19 08:22 PM
  • Futures Huh I had no idea about the Flemish independence movement. Explain to me a little more.
    October 19 07:47 PM
  • Futures Hey that's cool man! I love soccer. I am a huge Chelsea and United States national team fan. Must be exciting for you being from Belgium. National team is looking incredible.
    October 19 02:47 AM
  • Futures Huh interesting! Are you a football fan?
    October 16 05:11 PM
  • Futures Oh cool! Is English your second language then?
    October 15 03:20 PM
  • Futures Thanks for the concern though it means so much man. Where are you from by the way?
    October 14 07:18 PM
  • Futures The outlook is looking pretty good man. I had a CT scan a few weeks back and all the cancer cells had shrunk by about half.
    October 14 07:10 PM
  • Futures I don't mind sharing man. I have thymic cancer a rare cancer that has to do with the production of white blood cells. It's usually 2 or 3 days after I feel pretty sick then a few days of being really sore and tired. Other than that it hasn't affected me to much man. I'm very thankful. Just thank god I'm young and in good shape.
    October 14 06:12 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars That Kilowatthours album is solid 90's emo if you want me to upload it for you. I just wish the vocals were higher in the mix.
    October 14 04:51 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I downloaded their last album on bandcamp because it was free. I?ve only listened to half of it but I was impressed with how heavily emotional it sounded. It kind of reminds me of that In the Wake of Giants album but unfortunately that album didn?t stick with me after many listens. I think this might be better though. I?ll probably get the other one once I?m familiar with this one.
    October 14 04:28 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars It's interesting how emo is still such a misinterpreted genre with how many bands there are. With all the high regarded bands and more obscure bands we keep finding how is it still that 90% of people think Hawthorne heights is emo? Lol
    October 11 08:30 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Oh no, I was replying to your last comment on here. I replied to your youtube comment on youtube. Haha
    October 11 08:26 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars It's hard to come across, but when I do it's usually refreshing
    October 11 05:16 PM
  • Futures Totally. Really loving digging into 90s emo gems. So much stuff goes unnoticed!
    October 10 07:07 PM
  • Futures Haha that's crazy man! It just has everything going on. The classic jimmy melodies, the acoustic overlay, the strings on some songs. It's crazy.
    October 9 08:37 PM
  • Futures As such a huge Clarity fan I think I might be up to the task!
    October 9 01:07 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I dig it. The ambiance is a bit overpowering but it works.
    October 8 09:12 PM
  • Futures Wow I'm blown away thanks for reccing me that Last Days of April album! It's so good definitely sounds so much like Clarity. Need to review this as well.
    October 8 03:07 PM
  • Futures I agree man. Going to check the EP tonight I think. How Slowly We Forgot, Paris and The Great Depression are all really really great songs.
    October 7 07:13 PM
  • Futures Yeah I'm really taking my time and enjoying these albums. Like a ton of these don't have reviews or only have less than 10 ratings haha! I just listened to Cross my Heart- Temporary Contemporary and thought that was incredible
    October 7 07:02 PM
  • Futures Haha figured you heard them all man. I'm making the ultimate 90s emo list. It needs your approval haha.
    October 7 03:55 PM
  • Futures Hmmmm I'm sure you've heard all of these but I'm digging deep to find those 90s gems. Mock Orange, Pop Unknown, Edaline, Cross my Heart, And None of Them Knew They Were Robots, Time Spent Driving, Reno Kid, Leiah, Ariel Kill Him, God's Reflex, Bob Tilton, Boilermaker, Bells on Trike, Ethel Meserve, Waxwing and Very Secretary.
    October 7 03:25 PM
  • Futures Dude they're already on my list I sampled a song and they seem really awesome. Can't wait to jam them. What is slowcore anyway though?
    October 6 07:58 PM
  • Futures Huh interesting thought that would be right up your ally. I just jammed The Casket Lottery- Moving Mountains. Incredible album, you dig that?
    October 6 07:48 PM
  • Futures Nobody in emo even comes close really. I'm sure you have but have you ever jammed Edaline?
    October 6 06:52 PM
  • Futures Chris Simpsons lyrics are just incredible. Really loving the Lull in Traffic EP.
    October 1 07:11 PM
  • Futures Hey thanks a ton man! That first rec sound especially sweet. I just listened to The Gloria Record for the first time yesterday. Amazing band can't believe I never did before!
    October 1 03:08 PM
  • Futures Ah sweet thanks dude. I've actually been listening to a ton of 90s emo lately. Probably my favorite genre ever. Got any not obvious recs?
    September 30 08:21 PM
  • Futures Hey man I have heard about half the singles album which i really need to get on hearing the rest. Christmas Card, What Would I Say to You Now and 77 Satellites are all incredible. And I didn't even know these Clarity demos existed! Where can I find them?
    September 30 07:05 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I thought the same about the vocals. I like a few Elliott songs but I find it hard to sit through a whole album.
    September 25 08:37 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Did you know about this band? It's the same drummer from Elliott.
    September 24 09:38 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I've been doing the yoga dvd from P90X. I'm pretty sure you can find a torrent of it if you're interested.
    September 23 06:55 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Interesting video. I feel like it's a representation of how society undermines children and doesn't teach them or give them the chance to do the things they can be capable of doing. Kids just aren't taken seriously and that can limit the impact of their future.
    September 23 06:52 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars The Sylvain Chauveau song was very emotional. Thanks for that. The link to the other video didn't work for me.
    September 21 11:41 PM
  • Futures i will keep that in mind man. just thanks so much.
    September 19 03:09 PM
  • Futures dude thank you so much that is truly heartwarming.
    September 18 10:08 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Interesting, I haven't heard that before. I've been on meds on and off since I was eleven. I'm not sure what's changed in that time but maybe I've finally found a way to get over my depression.
    September 15 06:07 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars This is nice on the ears.
    September 15 02:15 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Nice, they came to my state last year but I didn't go. They don't even seem to tour the US that often. I was taking Prozac, nuvigil, and olanzapine. I feel like antidepressants don't really do much for me and I'm not really sure if they ever really helped much at all with how many different ones I've been on.
    September 14 06:13 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Good luck finding a job. The job market in the U.S. is terrible right now even for those with degrees. I hope things get better with your brother and that's great to hear about your mom!
    September 10 05:29 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars to how it will turn out. Other than that I'm back in school and have a few semesters left. I haven't drank any alcohol in over five months and stopped taking the medication I was on. I also started doing yoga recently along with other exercises. It's helped given me a sort of peace of mind which I really needed after these past five years. I feel a lot more stable and like I have it together and I think soley not drinking helped out a lot with that. So yeah, I can't really complain right now.
    September 10 05:27 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars The band I tried to start with my roommate dissolved quickly after one practice. It's really difficult finding like minded musicians to play with. So, as much as I'd like to get a band going and I'm just focusing my attention on what I can do by recording. I started tracking the other week for my emo ep. Hopefully I can have it finished by the end of the year. I think the hardest part will be deciding on the lyrics as that's the part I struggle the most with songwriting. But I'm looking forward
    September 10 05:25 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars How's life treating you?
    September 7 11:42 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I can't believe I've never heard this band before. I also can't believe they aren't more popular. It's an emo supergroup. It's the singer of Texas is the Reason and the guitarist from Knapsack/Samiam. This song sounds like a more refined TITR.
    August 20 12:59 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I've listened to the album Bleed American many times but I didn't know about that song as it was a b side. It's really good. Definitely Mineral inspired for sure.
    August 16 10:44 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars This is a gorgeous acoustic ballad. I teared up when hearing the piano version of it on the tv show 'Rescue Me' the other night.
    August 12 03:12 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I thought so as well.
    August 10 12:03 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Glorious sounding, I like it. And hah, well I'm not the first one to use old footage for songs. I only started doing it because it was more interesting than just a picture or cover art and then it sort of just became a hobby for me.
    August 7 12:45 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars How have you been? I found this on the front page reviews. Unique sound I thought.
    August 5 10:54 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars How have you been? I found this on the front page reviews. Unique sound I thought.
    August 5 10:52 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Neat song. It looks like that guy has a massive discography. Have you heard much of it?
    July 26 11:17 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Thanks, I'm not too sure yet how I feel about their music as a whole, but some of it is great.
    July 23 01:44 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Yeah, I only watched two episodes but it kind of dragged. Maybe David lynch is just better at making movies.
    July 11 11:42 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I was watching the show Twin Peaks the other day and noticed how great of a theme song it had. Ghostly dream pop.
    July 11 12:40 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I have some older guitars but those two are typically the only ones I play. I usually only play the other ones if I'm too lazy to change the tuning I want to play in. Lol. Sorry you have to play with gloves, that sucks. I hope it doesn't interfere too much with your playing ability.
    July 11 12:38 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Yeah, I do because I have the money and have been playing long enough for it to be a good investment for me. I've had a $900 Taylor acoustic for four years now and love it still. And I bought an $800 Fender jazzmaster last year. Are you having trouble deciding on what to buy?
    July 9 08:28 PM
  • Parallels ok ill try. thank you for taking the time to read that all and for helping give me advice and your opinion on the matter, it does help
    July 4 03:52 AM
  • Relinquished I don't feel any sort of way against/for you, but I feel the same. I reached out to certain users as a shoulder to rest on/ear to listen. if you're going through some s***, I'm here. obviously you're set on your point of view on things and'll resort to retorts when confronted about said views, but remember that experience isn't always a reliable guide to connect entirely different people to those you've encountered.
    July 3 05:12 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I don't listen to Arrows as much anymore but they are still near the top of my list. I'll probably revisit them when winter comes around.
    June 28 06:43 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Pretty cool chill indie. Looks like a video I'd upload. Lol
    June 25 09:37 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Lol yeah. It would be so much easier if it wasn't me doing everything all by myself. That's why this metal ep took so long for me to finish. School and work are factors too of course.
    June 25 04:11 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars And don't feel discouraged by my guitar playing. I've been playing for over a decade now and it took a lot of time and effort to be able to do what I can do now.
    June 25 04:09 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Thanks, I'm glad you got something out of it. I don't think I will continue with this project, at least not for now. I have an acoustic ep and an emo ep I've been meaning to get around recording so those come next. Lol
    June 25 01:56 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars This band played with Penfold when they reunited and went to Japan. Enjoyable ep I thought.
    June 22 12:17 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Beautiful. I haven't heard a lot of post rock like this is is there a lot of it out there?
    June 21 12:14 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Pretty cool. Reminds me of Woodworkings a bit.
    June 11 10:34 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Yeah, I haven't heard much drone emo like that either. I think maybe the most impressive take on shoegaze emo I've heard was the first Sore Eyelids lp, but it didn't age well for me.
    June 9 10:35 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars A member of Barrow is in this band. Not bad, but I've yet to see any band master the shoegaze/emo combination.
    June 7 10:25 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars You might like this. It reminded me of the last TWIAP ep. The songs don't flow that well though.
    May 28 08:43 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I get along with my parents fine and it's cheaper so that's cool. But yeah, I don't have as much freedom/privacy or the ability to do some of the things I could before. The ep is instrumental melodic metalcore and it's only 15 minutes long. It should be finished with mixing and mastering in a few weeks I'll send you the link then.
    May 28 08:42 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I've been alright. I just moved back into my parents' house last month after being on my own for three years. Still kind of weird adjusting to things. I recently finally made myself finish that metal ep I've been working on for years now and it's being mixed and mastered right now, so that's kind of exciting. How are things on your end? I remember coming across LOE years ago. I think that guy was in Joan of Arc and is on the same label as the rest of the Kinsellas. They have a pretty cool sound.
    May 26 11:33 PM
  • GmemberKills just noticed you commented in a white seeD thread AGES ago saying you "love this". just wanna say i appreciate you listening.
    May 26 09:57 PM
  • Trebor. I had to after seeing them live
    May 11 06:15 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I got a big Zookeeper vibe from that Dolorean song. Even the vocals were similar in style to Chris Simpsons'. The DLR song has nice guitars, but I'm not entirely sold on the vocals.
    May 11 03:13 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Just came across this. I love that guitar tone.
    May 6 08:16 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Nice list, thanks.
    May 5 03:39 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Great song. Flowed well for how long it is. This guy might not be the most original acoustic songwriter, but this song is exceptional.
    May 1 09:41 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I just got back from Owen/Blake Brown. Really great show. I spoke briefly with Blake before I left. He was surprised when i mentioned Harboring Secrets and how I bought it from him through the mail almost ten years ago. He said he never published it. It's like it doesn't even exist! Lol
    April 25 03:18 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Yup it's reconvene.
    April 22 09:09 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars lol. Go for it. The album that song is on is really good I think. His first album is pretty good too but doesn't reach the same quality and doesn't have as much variety.
    April 21 06:52 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Yeah, I really like how unique his voice is. It's like a mix of a girl and a guy. It's crazy how that album and his other solo album aren't available anywhere online. They used to be on itunes but not anymore. I'm glad I discovered him a long time ago and got them before it was too late.
    April 21 12:23 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars That Aereogramme song is really cool. Especially the ending. Have you listened to much of them?
    April 19 10:52 PM
  • Flugmorph Your second post and mine after that got lost, why? :(
    April 19 10:13 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars This guy is opening solo for Owen and with his band the next night for American Football. I've been listening to him since I found his music in high school. Very talented songwriter I'd say. The album this song is on isn't available online anymore so I uploaded it onto soulseek if you think you ever might want it.
    April 16 10:49 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Apparently Daniel Land was listening to this a lot when he wrote the Voss EP.
    April 16 07:47 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Lol, but we already found them all.
    April 11 08:20 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Never heard of them. Music is good but the vocals are pretty bad at parts. The last song was the highlight for sure.
    April 11 01:45 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Also, ever listen to Enya?
    April 7 11:59 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I saw an article for this song saying it was the most relaxing song ever according to some scientists doing a study. I'm not sure how that works, sounds more like an opinion to me. It's good ambient though.
    April 7 11:59 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Did you ever get into Tallest Man on Earth? He's arguably the modern day Bob Dylan. Well, his new album just leaked and it's the first one where he incorporated a full backing band. It's pretty cool.
    April 7 12:36 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I've heard a little bit of them. My friend was telling me about them.
    April 5 05:11 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Nice song. Even though it was almost 6 minutes it felt short. The piano was awesome.
    April 3 02:45 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars No problem!
    March 29 07:41 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Toy Soldier - Concrete
    March 29 01:41 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I just got this album in the mail a couple of days ago. Definitely 90's emo influenced but they kind of had a more poppy and modern approach. The album is quite solid if you want it. They had a girl on bass that also did backing vocals. So I guess that makes them unique. Lol. The end of this song is cathartic.
    March 29 01:41 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Yeah, that album is ok. There's a couple parts where the lyrics and melody are almost verbatim to Mineral which kind of bugs me.
    March 25 07:04 PM
  • smaugman emo fag
    March 25 02:10 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I'm not sure why that happened. Weird glitch of some sort.
    March 24 07:33 PM
  • Lol, I actually posted one of the songs from that Margot EP a while back. They sound like early Mineral. That other song is cool how quiet the mix is for how many instruments there are. Happy birthday btw.
    March 24 01:25 PM
  • RosaParks ufck you
    March 17 11:22 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I've also seen quite a few interesting and bizarre foreign Japanese films.
    March 17 05:29 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Japan definitely has a fascinating culture. It kind of seems like they do everything better than other countries with things like video games and game shows. I listened to athletics a long time ago and couldn't get into them. Still can't, but it's pretty decent for the genre.
    March 17 05:25 PM
  • Tunaboy45 I have no idea man : ( disappeared. Maybe I'll make another.
    March 17 11:36 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Not too shabby Japanese indie emo band.
    March 13 01:13 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars This is an odd rec for me because I heard this song on the radio and I hardly ever like anything I hear on the radio. Lol. This song was playing early in the morning on my drive home from a concert a few days ago.
    March 6 03:24 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars The violin is really great on it.
    February 26 07:40 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Ok, this song is pretty great.
    February 15 07:51 PM
  • Sniff Solved it. Got my NWZ-A17 in the mail a couple of days ago. It's super sweet. Thanks for taking the time and helping me.
    February 15 01:51 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I heard most of it but found the majority of it to be mediocre. It's been a long time since I've listened though, I don't even remember what it sounds like. The only song by them that stuck with me was "Tiglio". Killer song. I remember sending you it ages ago. Haha. Are you talking about The Tigra Songs? I might give it a spin again if you insist.

  • Iamthe Nightstars I see, sorry to hear. Good luck with that and finding a job.
    January 27 10:49 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Oh, what else do you have going on besides school?
    January 27 06:34 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Which Mineral show are you going to?
    January 26 11:10 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Lovely song. I thought the mix was fine.
    January 25 10:46 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I'm not sure how I never heard this KBC song before but I just love the chorus.
    January 20 10:19 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars time because it's much easier than searching the internet for albums. Plus, a really handy thing about it is how it tells you the bit rate of the songs from whoever uploaded that certain album so you can just scroll down to find the highest quality if you want. Of course though, I can't find everything I'm looking for on it.
    January 18 10:28 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars What worries you about soulseek? Is it the whole illegal downloading thing? Because I looked into it and from what I read you won't get caught for downloading off of there but you can for uploading albums onto it. The things I've uploaded are all from dead bands that hardly anyone cares about or aren't on a label so I think I'm safe. Lol. It took me a while to figure out how to use it but once I got accustomed to it it's pretty simple. If you have any questions just ask. I use it all the
    January 18 10:25 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Most of them are free to use. Some just require you to give credit.
    January 17 10:26 PM
  • Chin lol i saw you on youtube i think
    January 17 05:55 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Thanks. The house from the American Football album cover is for sale. It's cool seeing different pictures of it and the inside. And lucky me, they just announced they're coming to Denver in April.
    January 16 06:48 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars This is a quality song. They're from Mexico but you could hardly tell from listening because the accent is so faint.
    January 16 02:11 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars That Kilgore Trout song sounded good though I wish the production was better. Those cymbals are overbearing. The Locktender song is pretty. I wish I could write stuff like that. Lol, I don't know how emo became a Japanese thing, but they seem to do it better than most other emo bands.
    January 16 01:54 AM
  • KrazyKris By the way, you might have grown cynical. I can see that and you won't meet too many people that would understand it better. But your lists, your comments, your self-awareness, all that says very much about you and it isn't that you're cynical. And even if so, with the little part of you I've got to know, I'm quite sure it isn't a quality that defines you all that defines you. You still care, at least about your own place and impact on your environment. That's more than most people do.
    January 15 06:42 PM
  • KrazyKris And, well, that discussion actually had the benefit of showing how deep those still are. Somehow I think I'm the only to think that is good though. But I really don't want to bother you with this endlessly. By now I think you might be my favourite user here. You're a really cool guy and yeah, I get that quote. Here one that isn't from some tv show, only from me: "Feeling unbelievably crappy is probably always better than feeling nothing." Kind of keeps suicide and drugs away.
    January 15 06:34 PM
  • KrazyKris They didn't just question but completely negate the fact that I could love someone enough to respect her opinion. And as pathetic as that might be, although I haven't seen her for over 2 years now, that unbelievably deep feeling is pretty much anything that I have left. Retrospectively that situation back then destroyed one person and brought another one to life. One that thinks endlessly, is kind of misanthropic and relies on feelings that won't be reciprocated.
    January 15 06:31 PM
  • KrazyKris Yeah, I think I get that. It's one of the things I really, no deep emotion left at all. And you are somewhat right, I still get used up about stuff like that, for some part because they were "attacking" my principles. And I'm not afraid to admit they are a defense mechanism. A life without them is completely unpredictable and I couldn't handle that. I'm honest, because at the end of the day it makes situations easier. But the main reason is probably a different one.
    January 15 06:26 PM
  • KrazyKris Still, shouldn't have let this get to me, but as much as I try to stay of that crap, I don't like being misinterpreted and underestimated what would follow after my reaction. People just can't work with unusual opinions it seems. Anyway, thanks again for all the great talks and I'll still check my shoutbox every day, just not posting anywhere, so I guess we'll still be hearing from each other.
    January 15 05:04 PM
  • KrazyKris I think you overestimate my passion/interest in those things though. That is kind of why I'm who I am and where I am. Life sucks if you have nothing you want and no goal to reach. And I really don't have. I'm pretty much indifferent to anything, except for this one situation. Which makes moving on seem pretty stupid, cause only thing waiting after that is some kind of nothingness. Maybe no sadness, maybe a little bit more fun, but nothing that would even come close to make me happy.
    January 15 05:01 PM
  • KrazyKris At first: Thanks. And I really means thanks and not just thanks. Guess that makes sense. But to answer, I don't know if four years still count as phase or something, but yeah, hasn't been great. Usually I have no problem with people disagreeing, mocking me and all that. I don't care. And it wasn't even that it was insulting, which it was. It's just that I let me being dragged into a discussion that brought things to life that haven't been for quite some time. That's the sadness part I meant.
    January 15 04:57 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Most of this guy's stuff is mediocre but he has a few good ones. This is in the vein of Jettie.
    January 13 08:26 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars It was good. I got a B in both classes I was taking.
    January 11 12:17 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Two exam periods. One at the end of each semester.
    January 9 04:19 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Lol. Courtesy Drop posted about that band yesterday on Facebook. It was a nice surprise. I'm on break right now but i start my new semester for school in a couple weeks.
    January 8 06:56 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I wish more of the newer emo bands sounded like this.
    January 8 02:10 PM
  • Sniff The problem with Amazon is that they only ship it within the states :(But I appreciate the effort. Thank you.
    January 8 06:19 AM
  • Sniff Back to the Sony question. What type do you have and where did you get it? Can't find any players with decent amount of storage that they want to ship to Sweden ;(
    January 7 03:19 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I've heard of Rocky Votolato ages ago. I'm pretty sure he is brothers with the guitarist of The Blood Brothers if I remember right. Shores reminds me a bit of Early Day Miners.
    January 4 05:00 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars It always puzzled me how they're so overlooked on the internet. It's weird how so many good bands go unnoticed. Mike Kinsella had this song on a playlist he made.
    January 2 12:21 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars
    December 29 07:38 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Yeah, I wasn't big on their last LP either. Their EP "Some Stories We Trust" is a bit more solid than GR in my opinion, but they're both great. I'm uploading those eps and the first lp right now and I'll send you the link when they're done. And thanks, I'll check out Logh.
    December 29 07:32 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Haha, that's awesome. I'm really glad to hear that as they are one of the most important bands to me that I've come across. If you want any of their music I can upload it for you. I'm going to listen to that song now.
    December 29 06:21 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Also, I appreciate you reaching out to me. Thanks for that. I'll do that if I feel necessary. Don't be afraid to do so to me if you feel you need to.
    December 27 10:02 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars And this is a local band that lives a city away from me. Heartbreaking song.
    December 27 07:13 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars This is really calming.
    December 27 05:21 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Yeah, I know what you mean. My tourettes doesn't hurt or anything though like the guy in the video said. I've actually not heard of that before. it's just a weird sensation that's really hard to explain. That guy's diet it's admirable but a bit excessive in my opinion. You have to treat yourself now ands then. The same meal every day sounds awful.
    December 27 12:47 PM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot and thanks btw
    December 26 06:04 PM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot i think if you liked vanessa rossetto you'd probably find something to enjoy
    December 26 06:02 PM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot you might like this kate carr album dude. if not, i'd still appreciate you peeping my review of it :3
    December 26 05:38 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Yeah, I usually don't care for covers but he did a great job at making that song his own. The original is pretty punkish. I've heard twothirtyeight a while ago but didn't like them enough to keep them in my library. This song is decent though. Merry Christmas, by the way.
    December 25 11:12 PM
  • Sniff Sweet. Thanks brah
    December 23 05:42 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Ah. Well it's the first song on the album, "descender".
    December 22 09:40 PM
  • Sniff My iPods harddrive just broke. Walkmans any good?
    December 22 07:28 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars This is probably my favorite cover from the new Owen album. I like the lyrics a lot, especially the part about cuts on her feet.
    December 20 03:03 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Powerful poem. Thanks for that.
    December 14 04:34 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Here's an interesting video worth watching.
    December 10 11:08 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I listened through that bands music on bandcamp but need to listen more to decide. I'm on my phone right now so i can't link this but you should look up the kittyhawk album "hello again". It has lead female vocals and has an old Midwest sound I thought you would dig.
    December 9 01:51 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars This album is just $1. Really cool dark and moody emo.
    November 29 12:05 AM
  • Iamthe Nightstars *it not out.
    November 28 02:08 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Yeah, that album is really great. You should give out another shot sometime, I was surprised you didn't like it. It's a bit unfortunate though that that video became my most viewed video all because it was featured on a parkway drive DVD.
    November 28 02:07 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars It's nice, but I was expecting it to go somewhere. Oh well. I'll check out that Smith Street album soon.
    November 24 05:59 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Have you heard of Grouper? This is kind of sinister sounding.
    November 21 12:44 AM
  • ExplosiveOranges Nice Smith Street Band rating, man!
    November 20 09:57 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I just found out the guy from Rivulets is living in Denver. I'll have to try to catch one of his shows sometime.
    November 19 09:45 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I'll probably stop caring to look soon enough but every now and then I get lucky and find something good. Lol. I too sometimes wish technology wasn't as advanced as it is today. It seems to be too much of a distraction sometimes.
    November 19 12:46 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I'm not crazy about this band, but the intro of this song is like the prettiest thing ever.
    November 18 05:56 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Not bad. It reminds me of Home Grown, a band I haven't listened to for years now.
    November 17 10:31 PM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot fair enough. I don't discover much music through sput these days tbh but I enjoy the community
    November 15 11:45 AM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot do you have any favourite staff/contrib reviewers here?
    November 15 11:40 AM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot thx. you have any reviews in the near future?
    November 15 11:10 AM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot yeah i wanted to tone down the symbolism a bit and find a middle ground. glad you still liked it though
    November 15 11:08 AM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot no, i just think our opinions kinda jive, and wanna see what you think. that's all :]
    November 15 11:00 AM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot I'm curious to hear your thought on my review of it, if you care to look
    November 15 10:48 AM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot I think you'd like the new Grouper
    November 13 06:28 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars Lol. Yeah, that's a pretty cool album.
    November 11 03:41 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars I hardly know anything about recording I kind of just used google search and taught myself mostly. Lots of trial and error and experimenting. If you have any questions I can try to help. And I don't usually buy music physically unless it's the only way I am able to hear it or if it's in a higher sound quality like these cases were. I did buy a used copy of that The Alexander cd though because I really liked it and it was cool to have the lyrics and see all the liner notes.
    November 5 06:07 PM
  • Iamthe Nightstars This Rainer Maria song is cool. I could never really get into them though. I think it might just be that I don't really like female fronted emo bands. Not sure why exactly, it just feels weird to me. And you don't need a lot of money for recording gear if you're interested. Well, you might. It just depends on what you want to do, really. A $100 microphone will do just fine for vocals and recording acoustic guitar. And I use audacity (which is free to download) as my recording software.
