| JohnnyoftheWell any good reason the haru?otoboke beaver?seiko?motfd etcetc discogs still require policing back to kana mode?
| Dewinged aaaaww yeah that's what I thought, I bought a ticket but yeah can't watch anymore. We haven't played in hard rain since that streaming because of corona but one of my priorities when we get back there is to to convince the owner to give me the goddamn video lol I'll share it if I ever get my hands on it. Thanks anyway!
| Dewinged Somehow knew that you had watched that Afrirampo/Otoboke already lol If you could rip the one we did with BlondeNewHalf that'd be dope dude, cause I only have like 3 tracks the live house uploaded but it was really well filmed by Noriko (although we ****ed up 2 or 3 times) so it would be cool to have it on the archive. Plus the BNH show was great, as always.
| Rowan5215 damn that really does bang. thanks for the heads up chief
| Rowan5215 u got a link for that unreleased Rosenstock song? can't find it anywheres
| dedex Hey there! I jammed Oh Calcutta loooong ago, I'll have to revisit it fs, thanks for the reminder!
| JohnnyoftheWell dope, cheers - am flooded in Boris albums playing catchup for the new one, but will throw one of those in my library and give it some time!
| Lucman It's an honor brother! Suuuuuch a good record.
| Rev very happy you stumbled upon the glass beach album haha
| schoonda I'll check them for sure! Man I was thinking about the throw me in the river gigs the other day, can't believe its been 4 years! They're called Nothing Really, only one song up on Spotify but they're releasing a new one this week I think, they're really cool, Vic has a great voice
| schoonda haven't heard of millhouse! worth checking? i'm going tonight, my friend's band is opening, pretty keen since you don't get to see smithies in such small rooms that often these days!
| schoonda not going to any of those SSB rev gigs are ya?
| schoonda hahaha duuuude same, my shirt was absolutely drenched, looked so rank aha
| schoonda haha hey bro only saw this just now! how bloody good were they?!
| Drummerboy123 Yo dude can you shoutbox me the link to those leaked american football songs? Can't seem to find anything..
| BlushfulHippocrene Aaaaa! Yes, I found out Jess Locke performed during O-Week and I had no idea, so I've put up a tonne of alarms and reminders so I don't miss The Smithies, I'm so excited. Dude, Maddy Jane is playing the week after same time/place, and I can't wait for that either. Someone's pulling the right strings here. :DD
| Sowing it's less about the quality of discussion than it is the fact that some can't handle it, and I'm not about to sort through 9 pages (yet again) to the offensive and unacceptable statements. it's best to just refrain from political debates in music threads, it's unfair to the reviewer to have his/her thread blow up and unbecoming to any casual reader trying to stop by and comment about the music
| cold You and Lucid both make great arguments. It's just nice to see people shut down these close-minded edgelords once in a while.
| cold Just stopping by to say I loved every single thing you said/debated on the Camp Cope thread. Keep fighting the good fight, my dude/dudette
| danielito19 yo whats the deal with you manually typing html for red font saying "album rating: x.x" instead of just rating said albums... noticed this for CTTS -decomp, but also a few other records. why ar eyou like this
| Rowan5215 just read the Chotto Ghetto comment you posted... sweet christing lord that looks incredible
| StKiyo hahahaha thanks, I actually have 4 brand new albums at 5 and that bothers me sometimes
| ZippaThaRippa Cool of you to reply to my comment objectively without flaming. Maybe there's hope in this world after all.
| BlushfulHippocrene Yeah, I graduated last year, too, haha. And nice job, mate. Cheers, doing Global Studies right now.
| BlushfulHippocrene Sweet. Yeah, same dude. Didn't hit that 98, so hoping to transfer into Law next year. Clayton?
| BlushfulHippocrene Hey man, do you go to a uni in Melbourne, if you don't mind me asking? I think you mentioned doing Law or something in a thread?
| kascetcadettt here's a thread where you can discuss how fantastic it is to be a part of this moment: http://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?listid=174557 \\\ don't be scared to share the news with other guys in case i missed someone out and keep shining in the light of this beautiful rock n roll fireplate, god bless, hasanmedia represent

| Snake. idk never took you for somebody to just skip town on them
| Snake. how come you have nothing by brand new rated?
| Rowan5215 that would be friggin beautiful! I don't really share on soulseek anyway (I'm a bad person I know). also I only just found out about this I Scare Myself Sometimes EP, is it any good
| Trebor. Thanks man. I'm glad to see you're reviewing again
| Rowan5215 lol dan is kinda a personal hero anyway and I seem to remember you telling me to give it another chance
| Rowan5215 **** it gave it a cheeky review dan deserves it
| Rowan5215 damn I was wrong about party adjacent that album is dope
| RivalSkoomaDealer Thanks for the info. I've been looking everywhere for a torrent. I will check rutracker when I get home from work. Cheers m8!
| RivalSkoomaDealer Ay! Can you do me a solid and hit me with that AVI of The Color Spectrum Live??
| YakNips whenever ur feeling unmotivated just do it for bjorchid
| Rowan5215 hmu with those tigers on trains bonus tracks bro rowan5215@gmail.com
| Gwyn. I didn't actually think you were being shallow, I thought you had specifically said "short hair hanekawa" because most of her important development as I mentioned happens when she has short hair (her short hair is actually tied to her development as well somewhat), which I sorta agree with even thoguh I've always liked her I preferred Senjou and Suruga until her development in season 2 won me over completely. I'll admit, I haven't actually finished s2 yet so I don't know how Nadeko does for me
| Gwyn. Most of her pivotal development occurs when she has short hair but look wise I much prefer the long haired/braid look, but she is indeed the best
| tom79 Props for finding that Library of Congress album, didn't even know it existed. Cool that the singer of Real Estate was in the band too.
| Rowan5215 aight I was wrong you can well and truly slap my wrist
| Rowan5215 it definitely grows on you, and Pretty Teeth and Plain Old Whiskey are excellent, but there's nothing on the level of Hurricane Season for me. Still, might work up a review tonight which will warrant a few more listens
| Rowan5215 I'm about to re-listen now and re-decide - sorry if I came across a bit salty, as you can tell I'm v passionate about his music heh
| Rowan5215 seriously? that's the one thing that raises each and every song he's written above Matt's level, or Soupy's, or anyone else in that game right now - he's so unflinchingly, totally honest. He is a rare talent, in my eyes, and it's just not coming through on the new one
| Rowan5215 they're certainly not bad but it's just lacking so much in the passion which is his defining trait
| Rowan5215 well I'm massively disappointed in it, really ****in disappointed
| Rowan5215 OH MY. ****ING GOD SQUEEEEEEE thank you
| Kman418 theyre better than pretty much everything else in that genre by far though like down the river of golden dreams is almost a perfect album
| Kman418 i know tbh ive listened to it a few times since then and its been stuck in my head a lot which is pretty rare like i hardly ever go back and listen to songs before an album comes out espec if its just a live recording. i didn't actually upload it though i just reblogged it lol. also good job checking out okkervil river they're the best but only their first 3 albums tbh
| Spare banned for fake name. email me if you still want to do that interview thing katieteamreasonable@gmail.com
| Arcade sweet gonna jam The Monitor this evening, TMLT better be as extraordinary
| Arcade tell me what the new Titus Andronicus be sounding like
| Sowing I hated Local Business so good
| Sowing sweet. love it when stuff hits hard right away.
| Sowing How's the album? Fatal Flaw and Dimed Out are phenomenal so I'm psyched for the rest...
| Sowing yeah I hear ya, it's a wise precaution but I have a better chance of getting struck by lightning.
| Sowing yeahh I know I'm a wimp
| Sowing It's times like this I wish I wasn't so nervous about downloading music. I'm pumped beyond belief for the new TA.
| YakNips shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit
| YakNips hey can u listen to this for me https://singlesoul.bandcamp.com/album/beauty-and-despair-found-in-otherwise-empty-places-i-have-a-lot-to-say-and-its-always-changing
| YakNips i think i saw u in my sleep darling
| deathschool Thanks for checking the album bro. Glad you liked.
| BMDrummer hey man thanks for the rating it means a ton :]]
| deathschool Haha, thanks for uploading the album art for my Breaking Rad EP. It just would not cooperate with me
| Arcade i'm comforted knowing you have confirmed my request to be a friend
| Cygnatti you would dig this (you better): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2JubQi-4fCs
| Kman418 i think i saw spare posting tracks off this a while ago which makes sense bc it sounds like troubled medium but yea its good bro
| Apetzar Damn, thanks for your feedback as always! you're 100% right, those were composed in a day or two... Even though I make stuff to relax, next time I'll try to make something more consistent (or was that the last Rally Cats album, I don't know) and for now I'll take a break, for sure. I'm already glad that someone enjoys it a bit even on such basic level, thanks again!
| Apetzar Thanks for the rating, man! But listen to the new one, I like it more...
| Spare it was my fav album in year 6 of primary school basically all i listened to then i hadn't listened to it til like a week ago and it was still tight, 5/5
| SeaAnemone are you the biggest SSB groupie in the world? haha I saw you uploaded the new song on youtube
| YakNips i dont believe u its an island and everyone on islands are hot
| YakNips why are all the cool people in australia its not fair
| Jots sweeet, stoked to check this
| Jots hey man I don't suppose you have a link for the new Matana Roberts?
| VicariousIntent Ey mate, I saw on the Smith Street article you were talking about Georgia Maq, and she was a kind of friend of mine back in the day, awesome girl. Is she becoming a thing now? I've always thought that she deserved more recognition, because she's an incredible talent, to say the very least.
| TumsFestival Yeah dude totally, just give me your email and I should get them to you sometime before 4pm
| deathschool Vox and lyrics are much better on the new EP than they were on Soulmate Stuff or what Fake Problems I've heard.
| deathschool Hahaha, I don't know man. I can't figure it out. It's like the punchable face phenomenon, but with a voice. The lyrics he writes really are terrible though.
| Jots maybe, I think I said that on the news article haha
| Jots you'd probably dig this Gates album
| amanwithahammer You're right that there's not that many actually, but there's more than one, Carnival and Funny Bunny. If they'd overdone it putting on multiple tracks from single albums I don't think it would've worked so well though, so I think it's just right the way it is. That's basically what I meant, that there's enough (I'm probably just happy cos those are my favourite pillows songs ever alongside Swanky Street also)
| scottpilgrim10 Thanks dude, I've been jamming BTMI! a lot lately, I'm still listening to AMB and GBC. I can't quite wrap my ahead around SCRAMBLES and vacation but they still rule.
| scottpilgrim10 You seem like a very level headed guy, so you're a great sputnik user. Also BTMI! and TWY rule!
| NorthernSkylark that make him a sympathetic character and that's why most people will just sit back and enjoy his antics. You raise a very interesting question as well, how large of a role does our emotional investment in the character play in our overall assesment of a novel? i could go on, but i won't.
| NorthernSkylark it's a very nice essay on Holden Caulfield as character dimsim, but don't rule the word search out just because he isn't conscious about a final goal as such. I consider Caulfield to be dreamer (and a rover boy), like when he goes on about how he wants to live in the forest/country in some cabin, even though it is perfectly clear that it will never happen. He needs something to distract him from the situation that he's in, so he builds a beautiful future for himself. Anyway, there plenty things
| Butkuiss New Pinch Hitter music video/album coming in october. Have at it chaps.
| YakNips hey, how do i go about doing that review deletion you mentioned?
| Kman418 yea they don't have a lot of potential currently but the stuff they have put out is srsly better than like 95% of emo ive heard
| Kman418 http://a-c-h-e-s.bandcamp.com/album/these-are-all-old-songs this is the band that will save emo revival
| Kman418 bae i love u but nails and touche amore are awful i am sorry
| Butkuiss Idk brah. But don't lose hope. I'll let you know if I hear anything more.
| Butkuiss You didn't hear it from me but Milhouse might be playing one final reunion show. Quietly.
| demigod! hey man, i think you'd really dig the album i recently reviewed. check it out if it sounds appealing
| KotoFtw Hey man my band's "close enough" EP came out today! Streaming at http://fleshandbone.bandcamp.com/album/close-enough
| Butkuiss Yeah, Aus shipping is a killer and being a uni student sucks (financially). But ah well. C'est la vie.
| Butkuiss No $ because I've spent it all on gear for the gig next week and no cassette player anyway. :(
| Comatorium. The album was worth the wait and all the hype and disappointment with the delays.
| Comatorium. I downloaded that s*** this morning at 1030am fifteen minutes after it leaked so i could play it on repeat at work, fool.
| hogan900 Or.......I can pray to my golden kinsella statue that it is a new album.:D
| hogan900 Way to crush my spirit, I'm actually rather curious about what the countdown is about then.
| hogan900 Kinsella is a very talented man. There's a countdown for some American football secret, I'm kinda starting to believe it may be a new album or touring so that would be pretty damn sweet. And thanks for the compliments as well!
| hogan900 I read a few of your recent reviews and may I say your doing a great job with them man. I can also see your into a lot of Kinsella stuff, you like Owen at all?
| Atari the stream sounds great to me, but suit yourself : 3
| Atari fireworks are streaming their new album in case you didn't know
| Voltimand Thank you (a bit late) for the avatar compliment.
| Rev i'm waiting until my copy comes in the mail, or at least until the SPF show
| SadAndHolyGlow Thank you for contributing the only mature comment to my "emo" list. And I will have a good night. :)
| Rev Nadeko, Tsukihi / Karen, Hitagi, Tsubasa, Suruga / Shinobu/Kiss-Shot, Hachikuji, Mama Araragi, Gaen, Ononoki, Yozuru, Ougi
| FearTomorrow but ya this is Demi. btw i think i saw you on Facebook...dont suppose youd mind if i added you?
| Iluvatar hey so what was it that dev said in the am! thread?
| MosesMalone So is it stylistically anything like their old s***? I absolutely love Axl Rose and Eternal Cowboy and that's where I tend to draw the line with Against Me.
| Athom I still don't find it to be an enjoyable listen, but I understand the recording now. It's an interesting record and is definitely worth a listen as far as music that eschews structure goes. I prefer Brotzmann's Machine Gun if I'm going for far left of center Free Jazz
| demigod! you should write one of your signature beast sound offs for Music Has the Right to Chlidren. love reading them, you always hit the nail on the head.
| Rev haha no worries dude. i'm just trying to obnoxiously push it onto everyone in hopes that I can crack the tip of the site user list lol. and i've been good, just busy as hell. the new banshee ep i was planning on putting out on new years probably won't come out until like march :///
| Rev bro why wasn't spiral power on yr 2013 list????? jk bro how are you doing dude?
| Gwyn. That's because it's actually not done, I'm still trying to find a way to really explain in a convincing way why I think that. Thanks man.
| Gwyn. Thanks, man. Just for some feedback, mind reading what I have for the review I'm making so far? It is for J Dilla's 'Donuts', I don't write very often and I've been on a writer block for months but I really feel that album needs a better review, and a 5 one at that. http://jeromes-in-da-house.tumblr.com/post/67060101370/ignore-this-just-a-random-review-template
| Gwyn. hey bruv, you mind telling me exactly how do you get your text to look separate when you quote? like in this review: http://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/57748/Bomb-the-Music-Industry!-Vacation/ for the "final minute" part. What coding is it, and all. Thanks.
| unclereich really love your death grips sound off. I am on my tenth listen and I still have no idea what to make of it. I want to love everything they do because I am such a fan(I am from their city) but I came to the realization when no love dropped that, that is impossible. I think this is overall a good record, there are certainly standouts, but the reason I love this group is because of the crazy word play to match the even crazier production. though I am finding gov plates lacks both.
| demigod! wow, beast soundoff for Goodbye Cool World. it's probably my favourite album by them as well; its energetic, sardonic and sarcastic tone pretty much define everything that I love about BTMI!, and the cohesiveness of that record is pretty unparalleled. it's a 30 minute high-velocity run through the mind of a man on the fringe of isolation-induced insanity.
| Butkuiss Go to bed mang it's too late to be up I just finished a shift and I'm going to get like 4 hrs sleep before uni.
| Relinquished did airospace steal that flylo prod or did flylo said it was ok
| Calc Chronic Future. RULES!!!
| Atari mxpx rules. they were pretty much my first pop punk band other than blink-182
| Gwyn. since it's been there for quite sometime I think it's worth pointing out that Nicki Minaj wasn't in "All of The Lights"
| Athom I'll send you a message on FB about how the whole thing for Love American just died in a single show once I hop this bus to go to a bar downtown. Like there was a single instance where we just knew even though we never had discussed it.
| Athom I've know the dudes in Letlive for almost a decade. They're sweethearts and deserve all the best but I don't really like that style of post-hardcore anymore. I can't even listen to Fake History because of it's so over produced (I have no interest in the new on so I havent heard it outside that one song they had a video for). I will say that at least homie learned how to sing. dude used to not even be able to hold a note on key back in the day.
| Athom when it comes to how we looked at screamo and how a band like Alaska or My Iron Lung does. It was just really hard to relate because it used to be as much as a political statement as it was a personal one. but yeah, a lot of the newer bands basically look to stuff like Oceana, As Cities Burn, Oh Sleeper, Emery, Mae, and the rest of that whole Christian movement as their first real musical influence and that is a scene I mostly tried my hardest to avoid even in its heyday
| Athom cont. This last tour I did really nailed that home to me. I got into more traditional emo/screamo about 10 years ago and a lot of friends of mine that I grew up in the music scene with are now in some bigger bands that were part of that last wave of bands that peaked in popularity over the last coupe years. Love American always got lumped in with the 18-22 year old up and comers crowd even though we're all in our mid/late 20's. There's a noticeable disconnect of politics, influence, and approach
| Athom I really don't like a lot of the up and coming emo and screamo bands. It's not that I have anything against them or what they're doing it's just that they're influenced by things outside of the genre that I never got into because I sorta outgrew the popular post hardcore scene in about 2007 and that's what a lot of the new bands came into their own listening to in high school etc.
| Athom They remind me of bands like Copeland and Mae, and basically sum up the pop-rock-ification of modern emo into nothing more than a jangly version of adult contemporary music.
| Rev feel free to go nuts over it next week though haha
| Rev do that next week, it's not out yet
| Rev keep it on the dl but i figure you'd want this http://bansheebeat.bandcamp.com/album/spiral-power
| demigod! just invited you... not sure if i'm doing this right, just signed up for DB last night, but yeah
| demigod! yeah man. But only because you have a Calvin avatar. haha
| Transient You were at the last Bomb show at the Rev dude? We might've bumped into each other.
| DaveyBoy Haha. Good to hear. If BT play the same last 3 songs as 4 years back, get ready for pure awesome.
| DaveyBoy Hey you, dont get all deep, indie and metal on me. ;-)
| Athom How can it be an envy rip if the songs dont even average 3 minutes in length?
| Knott- new issue's up @ http://www.byvolume.co.uk ;D
| Sowing would you mind writing a very brief (5-10 sentences) summary/soundoff for the song you chose for the sputnik playlist? i think the feature would look a lot better with writing. if so, please let me know and email it to sowingsputnik@gmail.com. thanks again for being a part of things!
| Knott- Glad you like it! I think it looks so much better than the first issue, personally. And some of the writing is amazing. Share it? :D
| Knott- http://www.byvolume.co.uk/issues.html ;]
| Knott- yo. sorry for the late reply - BV is still going, it just got a bit trapped inside people's lives for a short while. second issue will be coming out on the 10th of jan all being well - :D
| Irving Just got to 5000 - I put my latest comment on my only SputnikMusic review that will ever truly matter.
| Irving More interestingly, over half the Contrib list has been demoted to normal User status, and the Staff list is looking bizarrely fat. It's strange times indeed, but oh so exciting! If you're interested in promotion, the best advice I can give you is to write and write and write. Make sure your next work is always better than your last! You'll be noticed before long! =)
| Irving Thanks man! And I honestly don't think there's a "proper" answer to your question - all of us were just promoted overnight! Usually there's an application session where you submit a writing sample, but I guess this year they decided to forgo it entirely lol (I'm confused too).
| Comatorium. Ballad is worth watching as well. Im so happy i took those videos. i basically left from in front of the stage after Queen and filmed the rest.
