    February 12 10:34 PM
  • Progmaster85 YES. I enjoy, when I'm on the computer doing work, going back to my page every once and a while he spews a lame comment like "you idiot" or "BTBAM sucks" I find it funny. And I looked into Persefone... a lot to take in from listening to the first song, but it's very very interesting.
    February 12 10:17 PM
  • Progmaster85 Lol I'm guessing you think I'll like it... ok I'll look into it.

    January 31 12:39 PM
  • couldwinarabbit It'll definitely take a couple listens to like. Also, if you can figure out if that bass line in the Second song is from something I would very much appreciate it, cause it sounds familiar.
    January 20 07:35 PM
  • couldwinarabbit So about Les Rallizes Dénudés their stuff was designed to be scene live and most of it is either too weird or too noisy or...well too weird to be heard in another context. I've heard most of it but '77 live is without a doubt the place to start and finish. However, I'm not sure if you have listened to any noise music if you haven't I would listen to Lightning Bolt- wonderful Rainbow in order to become accustomed to the noisiness of it.
    January 18 09:02 PM
  • Progmaster85 maybe one day it will hit me, but not yet.
    January 17 12:00 PM
  • Progmaster85 I'm sorry, but vocals about two headed boys and King of Flowers made of carrots accompanied by semi-catchy vocal melodies and cliche major chords are not deserving of the massive amount of praise that the album receives.
    January 17 11:53 AM
  • Progmaster85 I disagree, people tell me the vocal melodies are what's great on that album, and I have heard them, but the music itself is lame and boring, and as a guitarist, I hate the poppy/cliche chord progressions. It just bores me to death.
    January 16 10:12 AM
  • LeotardMessiah Sorry about your brain damage. I mean, if you can't concentrate on reading 2 or 3 sentences and it's just too long for you to read. s***, that must be tough. I'd be happy to make a contribution to your medical bills

  • Progmaster85 lol jonas brothers. I'll check out Sieges.
    December 9 09:51 AM
  • Progmaster85 also... hey... you gave the Jonas Brothers album a 1. You gotta give it at least a 1.5... come on they're just so damn adorable. AND GOOD CALL WITH YOUR PAINKILLER RATING.
    December 8 10:21 PM
  • Progmaster85 Lol I know... he';s a smart guy but he keeps telling me how people hate me so it's just pissing me off. I was just trying to express my musical opinions. He;s the one that originally kept telling me, immaturely might I add, that everybody hates me which they don't. lol at that. I listened to Sol Niger within, somewhat, and liked it very much, thanks for the rec. Out of curiosity, what's your opinion on BTBAM's later stuff? I know you're a Dream theater fan so I assume you like them?
    December 8 10:10 PM
  • Progmaster85 I'm not a huge Meshuggah fan either, but Destroy Erase Improve takes repetitive riffing and uses it as an advantage; but besides that monster of a record, there other stuff just sounds like a downgraded version of Destroy Erase. And yeah I'll definitely check that band out
    December 7 08:15 PM
  • Progmaster85 yeah, on Protest's "Kezia" the vocals are a little higher and a little more shrieky but on "Fortress" the vocals are a little less nasal and the music is also better in my opinion, but Kezia aint half bad. I must admit however that I was a bit like you, I detested Protest the Hero because of their vocals but got used to it and realized there is much worse out there.
    December 7 10:43 AM
  • Progmaster85 oh haha lol I definitely see where you can get that from with the vocals. If you are not into high vocals, then bands like that are not for you but I gotta tell you, if you can get past Protest's vocals, their simply incredible. To me their vocals aren't THAT bad, but hey, music is opinion.
    December 6 10:01 PM
  • Progmaster85 Now you are getting somewhere. The lyrical themes of metallica are VERY repetitive. All of ...And Justice for All is about that stuff, but you must understand that those themes were the point back then... mostly because of the fall of the soviet . And by the way you write, you would probably be an excellent reviewer. Unfortunately, as I scrolled down your page to make this comment, I noticed "Fortress" at a 2. Very sad. But anyway try writing a review, you look like you'd be good at it.
    December 6 09:16 PM
  • Progmaster85 by the way all this said, your a good writer you should definitely do a review.
    December 6 08:04 PM
  • Progmaster85 No lol, you are taking this the wrong way jesus... What I mean is that you need to understand that while you may think these bands are "cheesy" they were very important to music, especially to these bands like Dream theater. You may think the themes are stupid and 'cliche' but they weren't cliche in the 1980's until thrash bands starting using lyrics like that. That's I'll that I am saying.
    December 6 07:54 PM
  • Progmaster85 musical compositions that they create. For example, "Disposable Heroes" is a song about young military men being killed. Maybe a little cheesy, but the music is pretty layered and intricate. I also see you like Dream Theater, as do I. Why don't you ask Mike Portnoy or James Labrie how imortant Metallica was to music.
    December 6 05:35 PM
  • Progmaster85 lol Exodus sucks, Anthrax doesn't talk about "killing dogs", in fact, their song "Indians" is about their views on Native American Abuse which is a very sensitive topic. The things you wrote on my box are prevalent in much thrash metal, but it is not "corny". They talk about some of these in a very mature way. You have also said the Battery thing twice now, proving you don't much about their lyrics. Maybe the lyrics of thrash are a little cheesy at times, but that doesn't take away from the
    December 6 05:34 PM
  • Progmaster85 thrash isn't corny lol... and what you said at the end of the post is really funny, I see what you are saying.
    December 6 03:26 PM
  • Progmaster85 why not? I just wanted to see some of your opinions in things since you claimed I don't like good music, but now I actually see we have some things in common.
    December 6 09:16 AM
  • Progmaster85 Atheist is a little weak in some ways to me. Among the other pioneering death/technical progressive bands like Death or Cynic I don;t think they quite match up. They're smart as hell, but I think the way the vocals flow, especially on Unquestionable Presence, kinda ruin it. Their still great in some ways, but I think Cynic
    December 5 08:47 PM
  • Progmaster85 yeah the vocals are very high but they don't bother me too much. I focus more on how intelligent and ahead of their time that Watchtower was rather than the vocals.
    December 5 03:08 PM
  • Progmaster85 actually there may be something we might agree on because I noticed that also when I was listening to both albums. However I still haven't decided which one I like better, but that's a good point. Props for rating Watchtower, by the way. Brilliant and underrated band.
    December 5 03:00 PM
  • Progmaster85 you like Slow Riot better than F# A#?
