  • WhiteNoise FRENZAL! Saw them last week :D
    September 16 01:38 AM
  • Butkuiss Sorry for my uber-delayed replies dude. Things have been a bit full on lately. I've been trying to save up some dosh too, really. Kind of advantageous that I won't make soundwave. But with Touche Amore playing at the Metro the week before, maybe I won't save much after all. As for what's new? Band might start demoing some stuff soon in the drummer's home studio, but that's about it. And yeah, the MMLP is growing on me. :P
    June 27 12:07 AM
  • Butkuiss EdWIN? More like Ed LOSS. As in "It's a major loss we won't be chilling together stomping heads and raping bitchez to Kvelertak and Gojira at Soundwave Revolution."
    June 9 11:16 AM
  • Butkuiss So far, probably not going, unfortunately. I would've killed to have seen Times of Grace and Kvelertak live, same with HevyDevy. Probably would have checked out Make Do And Mend too. ETID, Gojira, Steel Panther and Bad Religion would have been good to check too, but other than those, not really anyone else I've listened to. Lineup was good, but not great, but ah well. Excited to see who comes out for Soundwave next year now. You?
    May 19 12:59 PM
  • Butkuiss Yeah, Disturbed were really not that great at all. And their video presentation was just tacky. AILD really blew me away live, especially as I went in expecting their live performance to suck. And I'll see what I do, but it's right in the middle of a holiday I already have booked, so I'm in an awkward spot. Alice Cooper!? Here's to hoping. But right now I'm wishing no more bands I like are announced for it. One guy I know is begging for Bizkit...
    May 2 09:39 AM
  • Butkuiss So yeah. Sorry if I'm a bit incoherent; I fell over during As I Lay Dying and my head is still bruised from getting stepped on. And I just found out I'm busy on the date of Soundwave Revolution, so that sucks major ass.
    April 27 12:03 PM
  • Butkuiss Yo dude! Sorry it took me a long time to reply. Music As A Weapon was sweet! As I Lay Dying and Trivium absolutely destroyed live. Not usually too intro Trivium, but their live energy is intense. Forgiven Rival changed their sound a lot from the album...not really my thing any more, but still. Disturbed were good, but the setlist was a bit disappointing, and Draiman called Forgiven Rival "Forgiven Ritual". Seems a bit dickish to get your opener's name wrong.
    April 27 12:02 PM
  • Butkuiss ZZ Top? s***, I'm jealous. Sounds ****ing awesome. "Full lineup" is announced on the 28th, but it wouldn't surprise me if they announced another few bands after that, like they did with the original Sounwave this year. And to see Devin Townsend and Times of Grace, almost definitely. Providing everything permits, of course.
    April 20 02:50 PM
  • Butkuiss This looks like your kind of thing...http://www.last.fm/festival/1915103 Soundwave Revolution/lineup#all
    April 20 03:34 AM
  • willfellmarsy Hannah and Her Sisters is probably my favorite though I love almost everything he's done...Radio Days, Zelig, and Crimes and Misdemeanors all own...i gotta catch up on his newer movies though, all i've really seen is vicky christina barcelona and whatever works (both of which i liked a lot, but i don't think they touch his older work)
    April 18 03:09 PM
  • Butkuiss Same here. Disturbed really got me into a bit of metal back when I was a wee lad, and I actually liked Indestructible. And I never got on the AILD bandwagon, but I do enjoy An Ocean Between Us at times. Same with Trivium and Shogun-it's a solid release when you ignore the rest of their catalogue. Goddamn! Thwarted again we are! Ah well. One day. But how could you pass up a Frenzal Rhomb gig!? Madness! And me? Nothing much. Just got back from a week away, chilling for a bit. Just jamming!
    April 17 10:46 AM
  • Butkuiss Heyyo! Just found out I landed a free ticket to Music as A Weapon/Disturbed/As I lay Dying's Acer show. Not usually my scene, but I'm going anyway. Anyway, on the off chance you're there, LETS BURN THE PLACE DOWN!
    April 16 05:51 AM
  • Butkuiss I'd love some hip-hop. But unfortunately, I doubt any of the hip-hop acts I like will end up there. Just as long as it's not Lil' Wayne or something, I guess. I'd love to see Aesop Rock though. It's happening later this year, I think. And oh my god. I found out my friend met Kristina last week. She came into her work. And got a photo. My life has no meaning any more. :'(
    April 3 01:08 AM
  • Butkuiss In all honesty? Nobody ****ing knows. I read in the telegraph it'd be another Soundwave festival, with "legions of bands looking to sign up" and "a more diverse lineup including hip-hop acts", but we all know how trustworthy and accurate the Telegraph is, so I'm loathe to trust it.
    March 31 05:57 AM
  • Butkuiss Haha, I wish man. I had one of those good old-fashioned political debate parties. Bah, nothing much interesting I'm afraid. Winding down from gig season, really, and lamenting the fact that Defeater are playing this saturday and I can't go. I'm curious about this Soundwave Revolution thing they're launching. Seems interesting. Two soundwaves in one year!?
    March 28 07:51 AM
  • Butkuiss Nope. Went for the Sex Party instead! Purely under the hopeful wish that if they somehow get in power, I'll start getting some for my obvious forward-thinking ideals and foresight. Y'know, the stuff the ladiezzz love.Especially Kristina. ;)
    March 26 08:38 AM
  • Hawks Haha no problem dude!
    March 22 05:40 PM
  • Butkuiss Hell yeah I was standing for Maiden. Front and center. Well, not exactly front, about fifteen or twenty rows back, but still awesome places. Especially for having run in right as QOTSA finished and they opened the gates. I didn't see a Defeater shirt! Blast! Or I don't remember anyway. My next gig? Might be going Defeater, but unsure. Other than that, bummed that gig season is over. For now. Loved every second of soundwave though.
    March 3 06:10 AM
  • Butkuiss I'm bummed about Slayer, but only cause Kylesa went on early and I missed a bit of their set! I only saw a few One Day As A Lion; I quite liked them! Primus went off all to hell, and maiden were awesome too. Gang of Four were the surprise of the day; definitely most awesome small band I saw. Devildriver's circle was crazy. I was the Isis-shirt wearing/shirtless circle idiot running about. Too many NOTB shirts!
    March 3 01:12 AM
  • Butkuiss So babe. You like it?I, for one, thought it was pretty awesome!
    February 28 12:05 PM
  • Butkuiss I'm PISSED. Protest the Hero are having sidewaves with High on Fire, Trash Talk and Kylesa in every city BUT SYDNEY. Apparently. Since I missed out on those two at Soundwave cause of Maiden/Primus clashes, super bummed. I can't wait. I'm going to be so dead on Monday. I just re-re watched Flight 666 and blasted out a few Maiden tunes on bass I'm so pumped. I hope they own.
    February 26 06:02 AM
  • Butkuiss I wanna get there early, so I can catch Gaslight Anthem. It'll be a huge day though. As for Rise to Remain, I'm actually not that big a fan. I think my love for metalcore was exhausted a while ago. I just can't take any more at the moment. The Longest Day WOULD have been huge, but ah well. Can't get everything. And STOP IT STOP IT. You're making it impossible to resist new Defeater. I'm trying to hold out on new PTH, Defeater and such. March is such a massive month for albums.
    February 22 10:13 AM
  • Butkuiss AMOLAD is definitely my favourite reunion album (and in my top three of all time too), but most people didn't love it as much as I did, so I can understand why they wouldn't play it. Especially with the songs as lengthy as they are. And same here! Only bummer is having to get up the next morning, but ah well. Were you going to check out Rise to Remain? Bruce's son is their lead singer (Incase you didn't know). And as for Defeater. I'm trying to hold out. Man, it's hard.
    February 22 06:34 AM
  • JamieTwort Feel free to check out my latest review, it's of the "supergroup" BBM, whcih includes Gary Moore along with two Cream members. I may go on to start a Gary Moore discography at some point.
    February 21 01:29 PM
  • Butkuiss Stoked as s***, man! There would have been a few that I wouldn't have minded seeing, but as far as crowd pleasers go, you can't get much better than that. So stoked. I was shocked to hear a lot of people were leaving before maiden. MADNESS.
    February 21 11:02 AM
  • Butkuiss Not too happy with the change, but that's more to do with the fact that I live like 10 mins out from the Creek anyway. I've been there for motor events (surprise surprise), but never festivals unfortunately. It can boil out there sometimes, but no worse than other places. I'm not sure how they'll fit the stages at Sydney Showground either without sound overlap, which bothers a borderline OCD audiophile like me. But ah well, I'll live i guess. Just a bother to travel.
    February 5 05:38 AM
  • Butkuiss I assume you know the soundwave venue has changed from Eastern Creek to Sydney Showground?Talk about last minute. And a resounding FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
    February 3 11:51 AM
  • Butkuiss I loved Roundhouse too! First time there (my gigs are usually at random bars or Hordern for some reason), and it was just as good as everyone says it was. I managed to tie up my shoes before the openers real tight, so they didn't come off all night. It's a mosh safety routine for me nowadays. As for next gig, most likely Soundwave (Primus/Maiden/Kylesa/maybe Gaslight), unless I manage to get a random gig, as well as the money to pay for it, beforehand.
    January 30 11:23 PM
  • Butkuiss Ah, s***, see I was the exact opposite; up against the barrier with my friends for the opener and the first three songs, then got pushed back. I ended up with all those sweaty dreadlocked guys trying to form a circle and just stuck around there for the rest of it. 7 Words was ****ing amazing, I had an awesome blast. I'm still cut Chino didn't take off his shirt in You've Seen The Butcher though. That would have made my night. And yeah, I got home at 12:20 and I was still drenched.
    January 29 03:20 AM
  • Butkuiss That. Was. Awesome. I'm shocked they didn't play more Pony material or Headup, but hearing Passenger and Beauty School, as well as every other ****ing awesome song they played was worth it. I was the s*** in the Isis shirt; spent most of my time in the front up against the barrier or further back close to the mini-circle. You like it?Also, they had a bit of a wtf opener, eh?
    January 28 01:28 PM
  • Butkuiss You can never have too many sausages...that is, unless you're watching an "adult feature". Can't wait. Not too sure about the weather, it actually looks like it could storm out here right now, so maybe it'll carry over for tomorrow. Who knows. Pretty much the only radio stations I ever listen to these days are ABC Classical, and sometimes FBI, for that nice independent local music around Sydney. Triple J is just tripe.
    January 27 07:25 AM
  • Butkuiss To be honest, I've all but stopped paying attention to Triple J nowadays, especially the hottest 100. It's horrid! So yes, I agree! I can seen why wou wouldn't like Diamond Eyes as much, and SNW is awesome. And yeah, pretty good. A bit sunburnt, but that comes with the territory I guess. I ate too many sausages.;)
    January 26 12:20 PM
  • Butkuiss Just one more day bruz. Btw, what's YOUR favourite album by them? Just to be an annoying little bitch.
    January 26 11:20 AM
  • Butkuiss Yeah, damn handy. And I see where you're coming from. I wouldn't be bothered driving back to Hunter myself. Good call on the hotel. As cliche as it is, I have to say White Pony, probably with Around the Fur/Diamond Eyes in second place. I love all their albums; Adrenaline is my least favourite but still has some killer tracks. From what I've seen, out of about 24 songs on the setlist, they play about 6 from White Pony, 6 from Diamond Eyes, 4 from Adrenaline as an encore, and mix the rest.
    January 24 08:31 AM
  • Butkuiss Ah, damn, that's ****ed up. Yeah, I'm from Sydney, so luckily I can just go home after the concert. Don't have to worry my broke ass with accomodation costs and s***. Four days now. Can't wait. Confused? You'll know when you're ripe. WHEN YOU'RE RIPE, YOU'LL BLEED OUTTA CONTROOOOL.
    January 24 06:44 AM
  • Butkuiss I wouldn't have a clue to be honest. The only sidewaves I was looking out for were Protest the Hero (haven't seen one with them yet though) and possibly Kylesa. But now the lineup's changed, I'll have to have another look. Still lucky if I can afford it though. And yeah, I spent a fair amount of my money on vinyl too. Protest the Hero and Ringfinger. Dad's old Floyd vinyls are dependable for now.
    January 23 08:21 AM
  • Butkuiss They're supposed to be, but I haven't heard much yet. Hopefully it's better than the debut, at least. And I know. I was really looking forward to Melvins. I would get tickets to Iron Maiden's sideshow, just to see Melvins supporting, but I'm broke as after Soundwave/Deftones. And I know. Pink Floyd is simply amazing. I'm just bummed I don't have Animals on vinyl. Good work 5'ing Animals too. ;)
    January 21 07:35 AM
  • Butkuiss (Continued from last post). Luckily, most of the people I know are going to soundwave, but not really for any of the bands I'm going for. Most of them are going for Mayday Parade et. al, with about one going for the Maiden/Primus/Melvins/Protest thing like me. But ah well. Don't worry. I'm just as pumped as you are.
    January 21 04:35 AM
  • Butkuiss In all honesty, TCV are a much better live band than they are studio. The songs don't translate well into recorded form for some reason, but the energy the band exudes (JPJ is still a fairly energetic guy for someone pushing 70, and Grohl and Homme are just superhuman live) really makes up for it. I wouldn't have given their debut more than a 3 before seeing them live, but now I enjoy it much more. It's one of those you-have-to-experience-it-live bands I think.
    January 21 04:33 AM
  • Butkuiss Damn straight. Keneally was looking bitchin'. She should do a swimsuit calendar.I really can't wait for Deftones/Soundwave. Definitely the highlights of my year too, unless Isis decide to do a reunion tour and pass through Sydney or something. I apologise if I accidentally knock you out with my enthusiasm at Deftones/Soundwave. It's happened before. When I saw John Paul Jones at Them Crooked Vultures it got a bit crazy. Made friends with some obese eighty year old though, so it's all worth it.
    January 20 11:51 PM
  • Butkuiss Just thought you should know. Keneally is on Oprah right now. Channel 10. Thank me later.
    January 20 09:01 AM
  • Josh D. They sound fine. I keep reading that headphones need to be broken in, but called "burned in", which takes about 40 hours or some s***. But that aside, for a cheap pair of headphones that aren't completely covering your ear, they sound nice. I've been wearing them for a couple hours now and they feel fine too.
    December 1 09:03 AM
  • Butkuiss Ah, that's pretty damn awesome. A few of my mates are going tonight to see them, but I'm not much of a 'tallica man either. Though I would have liked to have seen Baroness open for them. Tell me how they were, I would have gone to their show at Parramatta tomorrow night but I had a mate's birthday. Ah well.
    November 11 05:38 AM
  • Butkuiss Ahk. I still enjoyed 2112, don't get me wrong. A solid 3.5 for me. And I'll be sure to check out more Rush soon. As for me, I'm a Sydney man. What about yourself?
    November 10 10:29 PM
  • Butkuiss Ah, thanks for the rec. I was reccomended 2112 was their best album by a mate of mine, but as I've said before, what I heard there really didn't impress me beyond about half the title track. I'll definitely check out hemispheres sometime soon.
    November 10 09:56 AM
  • KILL hey man i'll rec you some and if you need more just give me a shout, Heathen - Victims of Deception, Coroner - Mental Vortex, Artillery - By Inheritance, Annihilator - Never neverland, Sacred Reich - Ignorance, Dark Angel - Darkness Descends, Sodom - Agent Orange, Kreator - Extreme Aggression, Tourniquet - Psychosurgery, Exodus - Fabulous Disaster, Testament The New Order, Forbidden - Forbidden Evil, Anthrax - Among the Living, Metal Church - Metal Church.
    October 6 06:44 PM
  • BigHans Reviewing Quiet Riot is good enough to add you to my list.
    October 5 03:00 PM
  • BigHans I havent given it enough of a chance yet. Only listened twice. I have it at a 3.5 so far. Its a little too long on the surface, screams grower.
    October 5 02:37 PM
  • BigHans Well objectively speaking it really isnt much above a 3. Aside from 3, maybe 4 good songs it isnt all that great. Up the Irons!
    October 5 02:30 PM
  • BigHans Not much man, pretending to work. Major props on reviewing Quiet Riot.
    October 5 02:26 PM
  • Dryden i am too great album
    October 1 06:20 AM
  • Dryden for the more folk death in june i would say get But, What Ends When The Symbols Shatter? or Rose Clouds Of Holocaust. also, Take Care And Control is amazing but its way different from thier other stuff if you want to hear something new from them but after that every album they have is really good check out anyone or all after thoes
    October 1 05:27 AM
  • maidenpmcc Yeah I'm a Maiden fanatic, best band in the world. I seen them recently for the third time back on 30th july in Dublin, it was definately amazing. Haven;t got a favourite, it's too hard but NOTB was the first album I heard of them and it blew me away and I became an instant fan. What about you?
    August 17 01:26 PM
  • TheSpirit I would definitely start with An Alignment of Dead Stars. It's easily the band's best album and probably the easiest to get into.
    June 17 06:40 AM
  • Zoo thanks man, jingle, danny, simon, and the other guys really make it what it is though, i just post a lot of osdm (although i've been trying to vary lately)
    May 10 07:43 AM

    March 29 07:16 AM
  • YouAreMySilence Nice, nice check out Sleepingdog and Glissando! Umm ok pillsmake me feel like death but Im on the phone with my beautiful gf which helps, hbu? Hows life?
    March 29 06:57 AM
  • YouAreMySilence Hey brah, have you listened to any of the records off my list yet? aha.
    March 29 02:05 AM
  • Kronzo It's probably best to go on youtube or something and listen to some of the in search of the songs first. It's pretty much like a 13 disc set that encompasses almost all of Buckethead's styles. And thanks for checking out my reviews!
    March 14 05:51 PM
  • Taxt I'd go chronologically, no doubt. Deloused is the only way to start.
    March 12 04:10 AM
  • NeutralThunder12 I may at some point, but for now up to Seventh Son. I may come back later though.
    March 8 01:35 PM
  • NeutralThunder12 damn straight Somewhere In Time is better, and probably Seventh too, look at for some more of my Maiden reviews. I've done everything from their debut till this, and I will be doing everything until Seventh Son. Next up, Powerslave.
