 | Cygnatti Honestly, Swans is so important to post punk, I'm scolding myself that I actually completely overlooked them. *self-directed face palm*
 | Cygnatti :D It's okay if you don't like a few or even a lot of them at first. Like I said, a lot of it was meant to be jarring, different, etc. I personally don't like some because they just don't do it for me, but others I really really enjoy.
 | Cygnatti Joy Division, Talking Heads, The Cure, This Heat, Bauhaus, Wipers, Gang of Four, The Feelies, Pere Ube, Wipers, Young Marble Giants, Beat Happening, Televison, New Order, Killing Joke, The Fall, The Raincoats, Mx-80 Sound, Mission of Burma, The Chameleons. If Graveyard was around anymore, I?d advise you to have a chat with him, he?s much better at this than I ever could be. Have fun. ;)
 | Cygnatti Despite being rooted in punk, post punk in general made a significant push away from much of punk. Punk is known for being amateurish, angry, and ?3 chords and the truth!?. However, post punk capitalizes punk?s do-it-yourself mantra. Unlike punk, post punk requires more skill, and more abstract and evocative textures. Its progressive nature is similar to that of prog rock (lol). Except where prog rock takes its cues from classical, some post punk took things in completely different directions.
 | Cygnatti Okay, before I want to do anything, I?d like to give it a briefing on post punk. First thing: what is post punk anyways? Well, it?s kind of a stupid question. In simplest terms, post punk should refer to any type of music that isn?t punk but directly evolves from punk: the most notable being new wave, indie, and to some extent, alt rock. (Also, hardcore should never be considered post punk, despite also evolving from punk.) Note: post punk and art punk are often used interchangeably, idrc.

 | Dodecahedron Haven't heard anything about a new record, hopefully there's going to be one this year.
 | FourthReich wow man thanks for taking the time to listen, rate and give it a sound off, really, much appreciated. yeah you know he is kind of falling victim to his age and surroundings, rapping mostly about weed as well as other trivial matters, but it was a lot better than i expected, thanks again!
 | MalleusMaleficarum I have a list of like 400 or so albums that i havent rated yet because im a lazy bastard
 | FourthReich Sup im fourth. my buddy is a rapper from the bay area and dropped his debut recently you can listen here: http://www.datpiff.com/Keefer-Time-Trap-mixtape.380703.html
 | Eclecticist Because the drop in my approval score was fairly recent and it was from someone negging my review of T.T.I.D.S.D.I.E.U.I.C. So I checked the ratings for the album and within the same period of time you gave the album a 2/5
 | Eclecticist I'm pretty sure you neg'd my review of T.T.I.D.S.D.I.E.U.I.C.
 | Eclecticist Just a heads up, if you don't like an album that =/= a review being poorly written.
 | MasterWayne It's been a long time, but once again I am back to save Gotham.
 | breakingthefragile I usually listen to an album one or two times before I write a review for it. And also, I gave up on iPods and MP3's long ago my friend lol. There's WAY too much music that I know and like to be contained in an iPod, I wouldn't know what to store and what not to.
 | greg84 I downloaded it from iTunes. It's not available for free download (yet) as far as I'm concerned.
 | Skrapyard http://filthandmisanthropy.blogspot.com/

 | Horsehammer allrighty, after checking out your recs, i still dont find metalcore to be appealing. its just too much noise and not enough music for me. oh well, sry :/
 | Horsehammer hmmm, alright, ill look at those and get back to you in a few :)
 | Horsehammer didnt necessarily say it wasnt awesome, just, you know what? no, i dont liek it, case closed, it is ok on occasion

 | Prince1993 felt some Indian vibe so thought to holla
 | TheOrigamiKiller Remember when we used to ride together. you were always faster than me but I tried my best. I've always looked up to you, Lou. I don't care what they say, I know those rumors aren't true...not my Lou.
 | PeterKlaven I did, but I changed my mind. A true fan doesn't 5 every album
 | Tupik I use Pirate Bay so I don't know any direct download link. I'm sure there's plenty around though
 | Stokes dude are you crazy, dont worry i like you we're gonna be best friends

 | lancebramsay aight, well we will have to round up all Seattle Sputnikers
 | lancebramsay I'm thinking Seattle sputnik party might be in the near future
 | Crowe Thanks. I used to review a lot but wanted a fresh start. I'll slowly start putting them out, hopefully on a weekly basis.
 | Crowe Thanks, man. I guess I find that if I put a reason for each of my ratings, I'll pay more attention to the album instead of nonchalantly listening.
 | This Life is Genocide yeah but im just goin to see tyler threaten another hipster. will definitely blog about it
 | lancebramsay Well I ended up missing the concert. I did catch some of it from the other side of the fence though.
 | lancebramsay My birthday is the 24th, I will definitely be seeing Explosions in the Sky that night.
 | lancebramsay I live in Bellevue and go to BC - I'm actually the president of Bellevue Film Society at the college so I'm kinda all over the place. You going to Capitol Hill Block Party?

 | Ire you really do
 | TheIllmatics just heard lasers. i can see why people don't like it, but i still do. but the production and hooks are really bad. and that song "i dont wanna care right now" is a disgrace. otherwise ,it's good. words i never said, break the chain and never forget you were my favorites
 | Ire you really do.
 | This Life is Genocide enabler- eden sank to grief. romans- all those wrists. plebeian grandstand- how hate is hard to define. the_network- bishop kent manning. colin of arabia- illegal exhibitions of speed. cursed- III. early graves- goner. check either one of those out.
 | TMobotron or... wow apparently they give them away for free cant believe i didnt know that
 | TMobotron http://www.mediafire.com/?9dqztkppav6ibjshttp://www.mediafire.com/?e440034wlvbl05vhavent tried either personally but i think those should work
 | heyadam hey dude nice job with the Tab
 | PinkBlackberry basically just ask me questions as time goes on. your best bet is too look online at professional work out sites/blogs. they have great examples, with videos or the very least detailed pictures.
 | PinkBlackberry Course man. as far as giving you a workout plan over shoutbox, i can try but it might not be perfect. Just make sure you work on all of your large muslce groups, chest, back, legs, and abs...biceps, triceps can be done secondary and in conjunction with the others. for example. Do a day with legs, do a day with chest and tris, do a day with back and biceps. and make sure you switch up your routine. muscle confusion is the best way to get gains. that and getting a lot of protein (obviously)
 | qwe3 I am a dick to people who are moronic, but otherwise i'm pretty chill. i was a huge dick when i was qwe and qwe2
 | Wizard No prob. Just to let you know, 'The Ties that Blind' is not the most original post metal on earth but it's still solid.
 | Plutonio suffocate for **** sake is kinda post metullzzz... do not approach if one hates spoken word.
 | Willie I know you don't know me and you didn't ask me specifically, but post metal rec -- the band is called At The Sounddawn. Both "Shifting" and "Red Square: We Come In Waves" are good albums.
 | Wizard Neurosis - Given to the Rising, Cult of Luna - Salvation, Grayceon - Grayceon, Isis - Panopticon, Mouth of the Architect - The Ties that Blind
 | Plutonio You want post-metal? The Pax Cecilia is the bomb. Don't know if you know them, but some reassurance is nice.
 | NeutralThunder12 One thing though, as far as modern music goes, for the most part, you have great taste. Dream Theater, Between the Buried and Me, Mono, and stuff like that. Also, I see that you are diggin Sufjan Stevens, and so your rating. ?Illinois? is my favorite Indie album of all time, hands down. Good dig.
 | NeutralThunder12 Haha I won?t, don?t worry. The list was bad, (the rankings were incorrect) as were the ratings. I also looked at the comments, you pretty much got verbally owned. The fact that you put that s*** over Death Magnetic is funny. Good attempt, but the rankings were wrong, and so were the ratings, and again, as you saw, so many people disagreed with you. Get over it. You fail to see how relevant bands like Metallica and The Beatles are today. I bet you think Led Zeppelin is overrated too right?
 | Maniac! Me liking Mono, thanks for the rec
 | BSX That's the real goal of Sputnik, get as many shoutbox comments as possible
 | NeutralThunder12 Nope. Still dont get it. I know what you think I'm doing but you are wrong. You dont get it. Give up.
 | BSX I see you're making friends
 | NeutralThunder12 are better than Tool, Mono, GZA, everyone you like. Get over it. And again still wearing my Dream Theater shirt.
 | NeutralThunder12 I think that you completely miss the point when it comes to music :). Metallica and Sabbath
 | NeutralThunder12 "Bands like Sabbath and The Beatles had immense and undeniable influence, but the fact of the matter is that their music was nothing amazing". Did you seriously just say that Sabbath's music was nothing amazing? DID YOU SERIOUSLY JUST INFER THAT THE BEATLES' MUSIC WAS NOTHING SPECIAL? Did you really just infer that the Beatles never made anything that amazing? Are you serious kid???
 | NeutralThunder12 haha. I think Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater would tell you that Metallica is fantastic :). St.Anger is pretty bad. But The first four records? There is no Tool or definitely not Dream Theater without Sabbath and Metallica. Learn to appreciate. Bands are allowed to have bad records. Half of Dream Theater's discography is rubbish in fact, and, as I type this, I wear a Dream Theater shirt. Metal wannabe.
 | NeutralThunder12 wow thats pretty stupid that uve never heard the album. metallica is life. That is all.
 | NeutralThunder12 DUDE no. Atheist is just as important for the genre, but their songs flow oddly, too oddly, not that is odd is bad, but the Atheist cant handle how complex their songs were. Listen to "Textures" or "Veil of Maya" by Cynic and tell me any Atheist song thats better.
 | NeutralThunder12 Yes but you are wrong about Metallica :). Oh and Cynic is WAY better than Atheist.
 | NeutralThunder12 see you like Dream Theater too. Metallica is one of their biggest influences. Bye bye now.
 | NeutralThunder12 Saw your comment on jazzman's list... you said Metallica is nothing compared to Crimson. WRONG. "In the Court" is the best record of all time, however, Master of Puppets is to metal as what "In the Court" is too progressive music. I see your picture is the cover for Atheist's Unquestionable album, it wouldnt exist without Metallica. Maybe one day you will understand.
 | Jom Done, thanks.
 | MUNGOLOID i know but look at the bright side, soulja boy is as irrelevant as they come now days and the only people who listen to his music don't desereve ears any ways.
 | MUNGOLOID soulja boy dissed nas and ice-t mainly.
 | WvaSkittle cause my friend was being stupid and put them as that i have never listened to dysrhythmia so i just kept them
 | qwe3 the rocky road to dublin
 | qwe3 it's a song containing your name
 | qwe3 Hurrah me soul says I! Shillelagh I let fly!
 | TheSpirit Also for some more basic styled black metal that is still pretty accesible, check out Spite Extreme Wing- Vltra, Kyprian' Circle -Noitatulen Vartija. Both are really melodic and should help you ease into the genre.
 | TheSpirit If you haven't already, definitely check out Wolves In The Throne Room 'Two Hunters' Its post rock influenced and fairly accessible. That should help you develop a basic taste for the genre and then from there you can grow to the more intense things.
 | OhAliceMonster WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT PARAMORE AND TEGAN AND SARA NEED TO BE ON THERE? WTF KIND OF STUFF IS THAT? whats wrong with linkin park? geez.
 | DoubtGin concerning Midlake, you should try "The Trials of Van Occupanther" next as its their most acclaimed album afaik.
 | paulbunker85 Saw-ree. I copied the idea from someone else. I'm not nearly creative enough to come up with any original list.
