| loneNLwolf I just saw your shoutbox post. My apologies! This is my first time logging in to Sputnik in months, although I check the website on a pretty regular basis. I have not heard of Julien Baker, to answer your question.

| loneNLwolf The female vocals bring a lot of melody into the music. It's quite refreshing. Mariner is amazing honestly, and I would consider it their second or third-best record. Tied with Somewhere Along the Highway maybe.

| SlowlyFallingAwake I've kind of grown out of Oceanic at the moment, back I've not given it a lot of spins... Mariner is awesome! I've been listening so much music lately that I can't pinpoint why exactly, but I remember the female vocals were a welcome variation and, as per usual, some awesome musicianship going on with long, defily crafted song structures.

| loneNLwolf Sorry it took me so long to get back to you! Awesome to meet someone who appreciates COL as much as I do. Salvation is right up there with Isis' Oceanic if you ask me. Brilliant post-metal records. How do you feel about Mariner?

| loneNLwolf I recommend checking out their older albums first. Facelift, Dirt, self-titled; basically the stuff with former vocalist Layne Staley. Their studio EPs (specifically Sap and Jar of Flies) are also fantastic. Then you could try Black Gives Way to Blue and The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here, which are their two newest releases. I don't really have any 'favorite' Alice records because they're all equally great.

| loneNLwolf Newer versions of the album don't include that song, or the instrumental pieces after "Cast It Out" and "Through the Iris". Maybe that's why it never got a mention. Quite a shame if this is the case. People are missing out. Anyway, thanks for the compliment. We do seem to have similar taste. Are you an Alice in Chains fan?

| loneNLwolf I'm not a huge fan, but yeah, I do enjoy a lot of their stuff. I own The Autumn Effect and love it.
