| luci check varuna's metamorph, v solid ambient techno from earlier in the year
| Chortles right? slipped right under the radar, who would have guessed. glad you dig it, it's got such great atmosphere
| unclereich https://www.sputnikmusic.com/images/members/302977.jpg
| luci new topdown dialectic is impressive
| luci right? i realized during "impossible game", that chorus is so SWYA
| luci the oso oso album gives me early saves the day vibes, think you might dig
| luci nice, i like to jam them back-to-back. remind me of the polygon window album
| luci also special request?s bedroom tapes
| luci another 90s throwback lp i've been digging: rx-101 - dopamine
| luci yeah the genre can be austere. i think he found a more vibrant take on the sound here, reminds me of shinichi atobe's work. heard the new robag wruhme yet? not as good as his 2011 lp but the title track is excellent
| luci the new rod modell lp is great, chain-reaction style techno. lots of the best stuff this year is 90's throwback
| luci checked the soundtracks on youtube and I can def see it
| luci the shinichiro yokota lp is by far the best house album this year
| luci recommend the new synkro lp, gives me a similar feeling as that mikron
| luci hooked on the new edward ep
| luci objekt's kickless RA Mix is excellent, worth checking
| luci can't get over that overmono ep. quadraluv is my fav electronic track of the year. looking forward to your 2018 list

| luci new yves tumor is a big deal
| luci A-side of Whities 17 is amazing: https://whities.bandcamp.com/album/whities-017
| luci the blawan record is hot fire
| luci new list up. I especially want you to hear the Teluric EP, "Pulsatii Profunde" and the S.A.M. remix of that track are excellent
| luci and the new skee mask lp is very good. he takes on a dreamy breakbeat aesthetic that sticks out from the crowd
| luci new khotin ep is great btw
| luci nice, checked his debut earlier this year, it's a beaut. gonna check that donato dozzy ep for sure too
| luci there's a dozen releases I wanna rec you off my new list but mostly the new struiwigh and huerco s. (under the name loidis)
| luci his other new release is v good as well: prime minister of doom - mudshadow propaganda
| luci prince of denmark dropped an album with a new alias: dj healer - nothing 2 loose. it's lovely, like an ambient/breakbeat take on 2 the sky. can upload if you need
| luci new pleasure model album is out. discovered the debut from your lists, great stuff
| DoofusWainwright There are some more gems in there yeah, ?A Desire for Forgetfulness? is pretty different, primarily a folk album of sorts, but it?s grown on me a tonne. All his stuff is at least decent though.
| luci "he deploys 22 minutes of cascading deep techno romance, cleft in two and cut at 45rpm each side for mutable DJ options and listening modes" guess it's meant to be a single track. I was also underwhelmed when the second was indistinguishable from the first
| luci there's a new 154 release out friday btw
| luci check my new list for some goodies
| luci yeah it's so immersive. atmosphere on-point
| luci have a sweet ambient record to rec: severnaya - polar skies
| mindleviticus I am assuming that you have already revisited the isness. I would like your opinions on this and they better be better than what you have offered me before.... (jk ;])
| luci you should check in death's dream kingdom. amazing comp from a top-class group of artists. might be my fav release of the early year
| luci huerco s dropped a new record under the name pendant today. it's excellent
| luci you should check the pauline anna strom compilation that came out last year. mesmerising space ambient, would've made my top 20
| luci have you heard CODE-915913 by AL-90? discovered it last week and it's become all I want to listen to. outsider house with subdued rnb melodies, addictive as hell
| mindleviticus and I did check out that EP; it was pretty good, should listen to it more often
| mindleviticus the isness a 3????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
| luci love the aoty list you posted on rym, got me to add joni void and claro intellecto to mine
| luci how's the year winding down for you? got a great rec in terekke's plant age. the phrase "club tracks heard through a pillow" made me check it out
| mindleviticus sorry for being a sneaky bastard ;] but momentum a 3.5??????????????
| mindleviticus have any recs for me? Been listening to a ton of monolake lately
| luci I got Wind today coincidentally enough, looking forward to listening. Kraft's Talk From Home set me on this new age/ambient bend that I can't seem to get enough out of
| luci glad you like, it's blissful. been listening to lots of jonny nash and suzanne kraft recently, all their recent projects are worthwhile (check jonny's solo record and their collab). that gaussian curve album you love is also great
| luci have a great minimal techno album to recommend: echoplex - the solar experience
| luci have to rec this cs kreme track that debuted recently, becoming one of my fav tracks this year. lush and mesmerising: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Zujudzx2MA
| mindleviticus Chrome Country, Inside World and Americans are my favorite tracks from that as well. I find OPN's music, R Plus Seven especially, seems to exist in a number of different perspectives. I find it a very mysterious and scary record in that you can't exactly tell how OPN really feels about technology or life. I always fluctuate between hopelessly depressing and ecstatic joy when listening to this.
| mindleviticus curious on your thoughts about OPN's R Plus Seven. Been spinning it a lot recently and absolutely love it, it might be one of my favorite albums of the decade
| luci fluxion's multidirectional I II (deepchord rebuilds) is very good, spin it daily. hyped for four tet tomorrow, held back on the singles but I've been hearing they're excellent
| luci hope i'm not overwhelming with recs but there's too much good stuff coming out. wanderwelle's lost in a sea of trees is a must listen. melodic dub techno bliss, found it immediately engrossing
| luci jasss' debut album weightless is stunning. experimental/industrial techno, one of the best releases this year
| luci lee gamble's new record leaked btw. predictably amazing
| luci getting into durutti column since you mentioned them. you weren't kidding about that "otis" song, it's perfect
| luci fp-oner's 7 is great, one of the better deep house releases this year
| luci glad you dug. bicep is on getleaks, link should still work: http://getleaks.net/electronic/3764-bicep-bicep-2017.html
| luci Bicep debut album is excellent
| luci new nadia struiwigh is def worth checking out
| luci wonderful stuff, thanks for that
| luci new Photay record is great, between 3.5 and 4 for me. think you'd like it
| luci yeah I noticed some stuff you rec'd me before! figured if it has your favorites you can't dislike it lol. gonna check out adam johnson's album, "anex" is so sweet
| luci SW.'s Untitled is also stunning
| luci dj kicks by dj tennis is an excellent mix, think you'd dig it
| luci you should check the new dj sports, organic ambient house with new age overtones. tried adding to the site but it's quite junk these days
| luci stalked ur recent ratings, that jacek sienkiewicz record is straight fire woah
| luci newworldaquarium is excellent, took a few spins but i'm really digging it now. "trespassers" is a standout
| luci glad you enjoyed it. jammed 154 last night, he's great
| luci new kettenkarussell rules, you'll dig it for sure
| luci this seb wildblood ep is a highlight this year. lovely deep house tracks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KWhsmdLDJU
| luci love his stuff. haven't heard the track you linked, it's amazing
| luci thanks for that selection. i'll get to them when i've had enough of my prince
| luci december release so slipped under the radar, i'd give it aoty
| luci really into this subgenre these days, if you have any lesser known recs i'd love to check em. the prince of denmark release from last year is incredible btw

| luci the new geotic release is wonderful, think you'll dig it
| Jots and new Shed, gattdamn
| plane Been listening to if for years now, heartily deserves its rating.
| luci where do you get music from? were you on what.cd before it closed?
| luci what do you think of move d and benjamin brunn - songs from the beehive? favorite microhouse i've heard in ages
| luci another electronic musician five is also super stellar (amidst blew me away). what's good in 2016? lookin for stuff to check out before i make my list

| luci glad to see you're digging the lorenzo senni ep too, it's stunning
| Sniff How cool is new Oval?
| mindleviticus I'll be sure to check it out man, thanks for the listen! As for my rec I'll give 23 Skidoo - Seven Songs. It might be a bit different than what you're used to but I enjoyed it a lot.
| L4titudes Oh whoops. It was an album that got put on spotify from 2002. Says 2016 on there but it is Sugar, Spice, and Extras. My mistake.
| mindleviticus Hey man I just released a new album if you're interested. Put a lot more effort into this one than most of the others. Rec me an electronic album too that I haven't heard yet haha. I'd rec you something but I would think you already heard it
| L4titudes There is a new Aspen album. Haven't checked it yet but I added it to my spotify library. Figured you'd like the heads up.
| Jots new Pye Corner Audio
| DoofusWainwright At the moment I think I might like LC the most out of the three I've listened to, I'm going to keep on working through his discog though - definitely his style has grown on me a lot
| Jots new Oliver Coates is so good
| Jots and new SHXCXCHCXSH : ]
| Kman418 if its anything like vampyr it will be. that movie felt like a oddly stylized lynch movie that got lost in time to me and lynch is my favorite director always forever so it was cool
| Kman418 yeah i was going to. tbh thats something ive been meaning to check out for a while but i have a deep burning hatred for RYM cinema bros who have like 2 movies 5'd and its always either that or persona or satantago or last year in marienbad with like half of everything else they've rated at a 1 so it makes it difficult for me to actually get around to watching those things
| L4titudes Oh man...This winter I got into all sorts of great new electronic stuff. Maybe I saw a list of yours?
| ShitsofRain I think you can vibe with this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kO9xonl9WcQ
| ShitsofRain huge https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zo5F-vKH3n8
| Greem Hi! Here?s my new album - https://lifeless4.bandcamp.com/album/insider. I?ll be glad if you check it out. Thanks.
| Jots o damn lol, forgot about that.
| Jots https://susumuyokota.bandcamp.com/album/my-energy-ep
| Kman418 i loved the last 30 or so minutes and the cinematography but so much of the rest of it just felt so like..... macho nonsense. idk maybe thats not the best way to describe it. ive always thought just how horrific and pointless vietnam was compared to a lot of other wars was interesting and i was hoping it would speak to that but up until the very end most of it just seemed like your average straight white dude war movie
| Kman418 generally speaking u seem to have good opinions on film and yet u what apocalypse now being an overrated movie im mildly intrigued now
| Jots Dev-core. first is minimal drum and bass, other is I guess progressive house? my electronic game is a work in progress tbh
| Jots new ASC and new Leftfield - might be your jam, idk
| luci strong sharon van etten vibes too
| luci hey if you're looking for a new album that's kind of a PJ Harvey throwback check out Torres https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ol61WOSzLF8
| Lord(e)Po)))ts i mean i despise your shaking the habitual comments that parts true but outside of that im just beefin cuz i know u can handle it
| wabbit do it it's way way better than Sputnik ever was. all ur favourite users and zero annoying ppl
| Eloriaz I just stumbled across your "top 200 electronic albums of the 00s" on RYM. Tremendous list - I've bookmarked it.
| Jots yo there's a new 36 album you might be interested in https://3six.bandcamp.com/album/pulse-dive
| WashboardSuds haha, thanks, its a pretty dandy little album I must say. how've you been man?
| Jots thx, glad you liked. Any upcoming releases worth looking at?
| Jots it's pretty dece, hardly his best. I did a review of it in case you're curious :/ it'd be cool if he got more attention around here
| luci I didn't love that record either, but the new one is really different
| luci i wish you were in uncrew :x
| aok fav zero 7 or air albums that aren't simple things or moon safari? or awesome songs / albums that're similar .. thankss
| luci listened to it 25 times already, obsessed
| luci the new caribou song is so ****ing good
| SeaAnemone hey did you end up checking the new future islands out yet?
| VlacDrac I love your lists dude. Keep up the good work.
| SanguineCream The Happy Mondays? It was their lead singer Shaun Ryder and Mark Berry's (who i think was a percussionist in Happy Mondays) new band. They're often referred to as Brit Pop, but I think more unusual. Damon Albarn's inspiration for the Gorillaz I think.
| SanguineCream Man you've made some epic 90's music lists. Some awesome obscure stuff and obvious stuff. On the obscure awesome subject do you like/remember Black Grape ?
| SeaAnemone it's a little hit-or-miss... personally, I love it and have been listening to it a ton; but it's a little more poppy and a little less nuanced(?) and even less intense. I can see others being disappointed by it.
| CaptainDooRight Oh yeah it's so amazing. Perfect balance of glitch and instrumental hip hop
| luci glad to see you liking that hotelier record :)
| ferociouslettuce it's been a while, but you used to launch boards of canada at me like it was your job. and i finally listened one day lol
| Keyblade It makes u feel like you're floating in outer space tho, that counts right?
| SeaAnemone will do! listening to applescal again here and it's reminding me a little of yppah
| Keyblade Dude that Shades of Orion rating :[
| SeaAnemone haha barely - I couldn't find many of them, but I checked out other Field stuff (and really liked it obviously), and I'm definitely a fan of that Dreaming in Key album; thanks!
| SeaAnemone hey - would you have any recommendations along the lines of The Field's - FMWGTS? I really like that album, looking for some more repetitive techno stuff
| Rev oh duh im so dumb haha
| ethos lol, let's hope it hasn't (; but i'm really really enjoying it. i had it at a 4 for a while but switched to a 3.5, which i still consider to be incredible (i'm kinda critical with electronic for some reason)
| ethos Great soundoff on The Field's - From Here We Go Sublime. I was just about to post something similar then scrolled up and saw yours lol.
| luci the setlist was amazing though, they played everything I wanted from TBC and SWYR
| luci the show was really fun but weird. active crowd and great energy but a super dry performance. you could tell the band members were playing other people's songs..
| luci they have such a strong discog that i'm sure it will be. like their new record is terrible, but it won't matter
| luci seeing saves the day tomorrow =) jamming their records all day. did you ever catch them?
| luci that aspen record you rec'd is so great
| theacademy i heard that terriers was a particularly tragic cancellation. ill look def look into it
| robertsona for some reason it warms my heart to see you 5 the new boc
| wabbit get the new deafheaven.
| Gyromania i will listen to it just for you =]
| Keyblade yeah it's easily the weakest part of the album for sure.
| Keyblade dude your global communications rating pierces my heart
| SeaAnemone Have you heard anything by Yppah? strikes me as somethign you'd dig... shoegazey electronic
| mindleviticus hey man i think 36 might be right up your alley, it's a great album
| VlacDrac Thanks a lot man, I'll give them a listen.
| VlacDrac What are the best Flaming Lips albums in your opinion? I'm asking this because I have only heard Yoshimi and I don't know what other albums I should listen.
| wabbit obviously awesome. I've only given it a couple listens. I may be biased cause I miss electronic music that isn't ass
| omnipanzer Thought you might like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4rVs8TiUhw
| wabbit you digging A Long Way to Fall?
| Eko yeah I'm having a hard time finding it. oh well thanks.
| Eko you wouldn't happen to know where I might find Drei by Beefcake would you?
| wabbit came around to soft bulletin (by that I mean 4.5 -
| mindleviticus Hey man, you should check out the new Emeralds. It sounds absolutely nothing like Does It Look Like I'm Here or anything before, but just stick with it. It's worth it. I was going absolutely nuts when I first listened to it.
| WashboardSuds here's a pretty sick rec for you: Jonti - Twirligig
| barcafan21 i think we may be the only two people on this site who think in reverie is the best saves the day album AND its a classic
| mindleviticus I see that you're quite a fan of electronic music. If I may recommend an album it would be Marc Leclair's "Musique Pour Trois Femmes Enceintes". It is beyond amazing.
| immersedreality Yeah, it reveals itself very slowly. Tracks like Dark Steering and Drax 2 almost sound boring until you wrap your head around how much s*** is actually going on. It almost needs to be analyzed bar-by-bar to understand the complexity of the rhythms. I love his technique of using hard bass hits on the first beat of every measure and than having the music scramble off into outer space before he resolves it all back into the first hard bass hit of the next measure. So damn good.
| immersedreality Lol it's so good. Mofos on this site can't handle it's awesomeness. He really perfected the technique of slicing up samples into little glitches but then incorporating them into a groove with absolute precision. Add on top of that an extremely diverse and exciting low end, with synth textures that are so evocative they surpass the human voice, and you have a masterpiece if I've ever heard one.
| Knott- Yeah man I know, I can't get hold of it because I'm skint and can't find it :[
| luci It's exactly what I wanted from them, my summer is made. You'll like it about as much as Post-Nothing (I think it's better).
| FelixCulpa I know BoC is basically your favorite band and I wanted to share the first song I heard by them (Or well it's a remix which is why I'm even bothering sharing it as there might be chance you've not heard it already). Anyway the song is Poppy Seed (Reprise) [Boc remix] by Slag Boom Van Loon (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7RTA7jO-HqA
