 | Gyromania i will listen to it just for you =]
 | Keyblade yeah it's easily the weakest part of the album for sure.
 | Keyblade dude your global communications rating pierces my heart
 | SeaAnemone Have you heard anything by Yppah? strikes me as somethign you'd dig... shoegazey electronic
 | mindleviticus hey man i think 36 might be right up your alley, it's a great album
 | VlacDrac Thanks a lot man, I'll give them a listen.
 | VlacDrac What are the best Flaming Lips albums in your opinion? I'm asking this because I have only heard Yoshimi and I don't know what other albums I should listen.
 | wabbit obviously awesome. I've only given it a couple listens. I may be biased cause I miss electronic music that isn't ass
 | omnipanzer Thought you might like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4rVs8TiUhw
 | wabbit you digging A Long Way to Fall?
 | Eko yeah I'm having a hard time finding it. oh well thanks.
 | Eko you wouldn't happen to know where I might find Drei by Beefcake would you?
 | wabbit came around to soft bulletin (by that I mean 4.5 -
 | mindleviticus Hey man, you should check out the new Emeralds. It sounds absolutely nothing like Does It Look Like I'm Here or anything before, but just stick with it. It's worth it. I was going absolutely nuts when I first listened to it.
 | WashboardSuds here's a pretty sick rec for you: Jonti - Twirligig
 | barcafan21 i think we may be the only two people on this site who think in reverie is the best saves the day album AND its a classic
 | mindleviticus I see that you're quite a fan of electronic music. If I may recommend an album it would be Marc Leclair's "Musique Pour Trois Femmes Enceintes". It is beyond amazing.
 | immersedreality Yeah, it reveals itself very slowly. Tracks like Dark Steering and Drax 2 almost sound boring until you wrap your head around how much s*** is actually going on. It almost needs to be analyzed bar-by-bar to understand the complexity of the rhythms. I love his technique of using hard bass hits on the first beat of every measure and than having the music scramble off into outer space before he resolves it all back into the first hard bass hit of the next measure. So damn good.
 | immersedreality Lol it's so good. Mofos on this site can't handle it's awesomeness. He really perfected the technique of slicing up samples into little glitches but then incorporating them into a groove with absolute precision. Add on top of that an extremely diverse and exciting low end, with synth textures that are so evocative they surpass the human voice, and you have a masterpiece if I've ever heard one.
 | Knott- Yeah man I know, I can't get hold of it because I'm skint and can't find it :[
 | Lucidity It's exactly what I wanted from them, my summer is made. You'll like it about as much as Post-Nothing (I think it's better).
 | FelixCulpa I know BoC is basically your favorite band and I wanted to share the first song I heard by them (Or well it's a remix which is why I'm even bothering sharing it as there might be chance you've not heard it already). Anyway the song is Poppy Seed (Reprise) [Boc remix] by Slag Boom Van Loon (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7RTA7jO-HqA
 | AggravatedYeti just discovered them a few months back myself. so ****ing good. I've yet to really crack into anything but Imperial though. For now that's enough.
 | AggravatedYeti !!! someone else here has heard Unrest? I knew there was a reason I really like you.
 | aokuneff met your bro yesterday. visit him in nyc so we can have a sput reunion =]
 | immersedreality It's not soulless, it's as if ROBOTS HAD SOULS. There's a difference.
 | immersedreality Giving Draft 7.30 and Untilted 3's are like writing niggling reviews of Da Vinci paintings. This is the music that is going to define the new era of musical complexity. Also check out Squarepusher's Numbers Lucent EP if you want to hear the craziest Electro-Jazz IDM spazz out s*** ever recorded.
 | Lucidity Check out Fin by John Talabot. First amazing electronic release of 2012.
 | Lucidity http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2xyCIK4ALo
 | aokuneff eh - i remember liking a couple of his songs before but that album i've tried a couple times and was kinda annoyed with
 | Lucidity i'll make sure to give it a listen, i trust your taste
 | Lucidity yeah it's incredible. the ending of why didn't you save me is his finest moment yet tbh. blows me away every time.
 | Adash Vantaa is now one of my favourites of the year. It's just so beautifully crafted. Tommy's in looove
 | Deviant. Oh right, of course! I should've known. I really do enjoy the album, I guess I just wasn't as impressed by it as as you. Think I have it at 3.5, or something like that
 | silentpotato i know, and people were all over eyelid movies when it first came out. weird how it works like that. just like how the new son lux is basically unheard around here but his debut was very well received.
 | Adash Vlad says happy birthday - Track 2 is ****ing insane http://www.filesonic.com/file/4016699053
 | wabbit do you like the hold steady?
 | Lucidity 1.5 for Black Sails in the Sunset ... I am speechless.
 | Knott- HOLY **** YES thanks for the heads up!
 | SeaAnemone so pumped. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Tiger-Tank/303594726334132
 | bloc Awesome, thank you so much!
 | WashboardSuds same here, it basically follows in the minimal footsteps of Medulla, which I didn't like. Moon does have an awesome string melody to it, though.
 | WashboardSuds sounds like my kind of thing, I'll check them out tonight. you hear the new Bjork album?
 | wabbit check out the caretaker's new album. I think you'd really dig it (while your waiting for your aoty to leak)
 | omnipanzer I can't get there from here but it looks like you might be able to get it at: wilfullyobscure.blogspot.com
 | omnipanzer Glad you liked it, there is one track on there I'm not to fond of either. While I have your trust might I also rec. Dambuilders - Against the Stars
 | omnipanzer If you end up getting "Take Back The Universe And Give Me Yesterday" let me know what you think.
 | WashboardSuds You should give this a listen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jiEej8UXJlw its pretty accessible I think, and that song is killer. and Burial is great, his Untrue has been growing on me lately, its pretty sweet.
 | WashboardSuds Boratto's pretty good, I have his Take My Breath Away record and I've heard some stuff off his debut. Haven't heard his new one yet. You into dubstep Yotimi? and I'm craving new BoC too, only growing less patient by the day
 | WashboardSuds as of late I've been finding some sweet new dnb artists, and snooping around the electronica scene as usual. plus I'm a bit of a Japan nut these days. How about you? how's your musical journey moving along?
 | FelixCulpa Glad to hear you enjoyed it. And just leave a shout if you ever want a link to the Amatorski album.
 | FelixCulpa Hey yotimi. I know I've had moderate success in rec'ing you stuff in the past and I though I'd go at it again ;] Amatorski TBC (Check the review on sputnik and here's a stream http://amatorski.bandcamp.com/) and Skeleton Zoo - The Busride EP I almost wanna call this BoC but jacked up. Or something in the vein of Amon Tobin (Earlier stuff) but featuring lot's of samples. It's pretty interesting stuff. Free of charge on his bandcamp http://skeletonzoo.bandcamp.com/album/the-busride-ep
 | wabbit ok good. It's my aoty/ I like it more than L,I
 | wabbit so you check out the new frank turner yet?
 | Lucidity Ha, was expecting approval over my latest dig :p. What can I say, you like good music.
 | Lucidity Thanks! Have you heard Field Rituals by Koen Holtkamp? One of the albums I discovered in my absence that I recall thinking was really 'Yotimi'.
 | wabbit so I was gonna tell you to check out the new tom waits song (cause it's amazing) and I ctrl-f "tom waits" on your ratings and I get zero hits...what the hell man
 | wabbit why are you on the company laptop while on vacation...the angry 18 year old who sang along to fugazi and the replacements is dying. But ya it's actually really good and not in a "this is good cause a person from sputnik made it"
 | wabbit hey man have you checked out Downer's band, Ghost Ship yet? they are kinda like a mix of women and early national I really dig them, so you probs would too.
 | WashboardSuds one more, its Cornelius' old band: Flipper's Guitar - Camera Talk. sorry if I'm reccing too much
 | Enotron yeah dude i love lifetime, definitely into that sort of melodic hardcore sound
 | WashboardSuds here's a rec for you if you like Cornelius: Sketch Show - Loophole
 | Gene Thanks i'll be sure to check out that entire album probably tomorrow.
 | Gene Cool Cool. Yeah you should give it another listen, I rec you listen to "I Know" and "Sinequanon". Along with the mammoth "Finished Symphony." Also, what Boards of Canada album should I get for starters?
 | Gene Yo man you didn't like Hybrid's Wide Angle that much? Man I thought it was beautiful
 | WashboardSuds did he really? that sounds awesome, will check out right away. thanks for the heads up man. any digs to speak of?
 | porch nice, had a feeling you'd like at least a few songs on there
 | Josh D. http://i379.photobucket.com/albums/oo236/jjderagon/axel.jpg
 | WashboardSuds definitely will, I was planning to in due time since I really liked Melody A.M.
which album is your favorite?
 | telebyrd Yogi, My Apples! My Apples Bwloke into duh PIECES!!
 | FelixCulpa I agree. And I also really enjoy how he uses the flutes through out the album, not something that's common in the genre.
 | FelixCulpa He apprently was working on his sophomore album when he accepted to enter "The RPM Challenge". You can read more about in the opening paragraph of this review, http://www.mixtapemuse.com/2011/06/review-son-lux-we-are-rising.html A pretty bold move of him I must say.
 | FelixCulpa If you are interested in a rec I'd tell you to check out Son Lux - We are rising. And I don't know how much drone music but Tom Vourtsis managed to get my attention with his album Mothhunting. And if you have a rec I'll be more than pleased to receive them.
 | wabbit http://turntable.fm/sputnikmusicsea, downer, klap, knott, redsky and andy have all left so it isn't great right now.
 | wabbit no we can't be music neighbours I'm drawing the line...but you should check out turntable.fm sometime. It is super cool
 | wabbit your tribe called quest and ac ratings upset me
 | WashboardSuds awesome, glad you like it. I thought Printer Jam was a really cool song. Plus I love The Light's Really Bad
 | immersedreality Also, in what way does Foxy Shazam remind you of of Montreal? Other than them both having some Glam Rock influence I don't see much of a connection between them.
 | immersedreality I knew you'd come around to The Field eventually. It's too damn hypnotic.
 | Enotron thats definitely a factor. haven't heard under the boards yet, not too anxious though lol. I think one of my favorite things about std back in the day was not only the brilliant songs, but their musicianship was just crazy good. The riffs were brilliant, great little stop-starts etc. And i feel like they've drifted from that, too much "chris conley project" and not enough "saves the day".
 | Enotron checked out that new song, can't say i care for it : /
 | WashboardSuds I'll have the album your way. I had to send over chunks of the album instead of a full .rar due to technical issues, but let me know if you get them. if you need anything else in the future, feel free to ask and I'll send it your way, hope you enjoy
 | WashboardSuds hmmm do you have an email? I could try to send it to you
 | robertsona no i have not! was trying to find metro area the other day and couldnt but i also wasnt looking that hard
 | robertsona yeah that and the first track are my favs, real cool stuff. throw a rec over here if you ever feel bored or whatever
 | omnipanzer "Here's a special one for you: Ace of Base - The Bridge." sly bastard you.
 | WashboardSuds glad you liked it though, sorry if it wasn't the most accessible rec
 | WashboardSuds yeah looking back the Avalanches wasn't the best comparison, I was thinking more like Since I Left You than anything else. but the album is really good, my faves are Peace Music, Sweet Soul Revue, Sweet Thursday and Magic Carpet Ride
 | omnipanzer I just put this in a list and realized it would be more beneficial to put it in your shoutbox. "yotimi, I'm really digging your rec lists lately, props bro."
 | wabbit I imagine you will like it as much or more than Love Ire and Song. Individually the songs might not be quite as strong but they flow in a much more cohesive concept and manner...Also he is getting old and you are pretty old so you have that similarity.
 | wabbit ya it is. You check out the new frank turner yet?
 | wabbit one day I'll grow up and be a beautiful girl.
 | robertsona wonderbear.bandcamp.com/album/avalanche my band's new EP :)))))
 | random Thanks, dude. I find myself singing Rocks Tonic Juice Magic by Saves The Day often. "Heart is on the floor!"
 | immersedreality Also, I did a listen-along on /mu/ for Burial's Untrue which is the only reason I ever listened to it in the first place. I enjoyed it, but I can't see myself wanting to return to it's dark RnB aesthetic very often. I could be wrong though.
 | random Could you please recommend me pop-punk like Through Being Cool by Saves the Day or Soundtrack For A Generation by Student Rick? Thanks.
 | immersedreality I just rated things the first number that popped into my mind that seemed about right. As I relisten to albums I'm sure things are going to get shifted around. I noticed I tend to just give everything I like a 4, so there's probably a bit of inconsistency in there somewhere.
 | immersedreality Yeah, I might do a few write-ups of some lesser known albums. What do lists automatically get posted to the front page or something?
 | immersedreality Sup bro, I'm on Sputnik now!!!! I'm surprised by how well-known you seem to be around here. Kudos.
 | aokuneff btw, the only de la soul i know and like is 3 feet high and rising and the only flaming lips i know is yoshimi battles the pink robots. any recs over there?
 | aokuneff always good to hear from you. there's a free link i posted in the ep section of 'exoplanet' i would recommend as well. an when you got a couple songs to send my way, i like hearing from you as well. peace and love
 | Blindsided Alright I sent the invite. Let me or any of the other contribs know if you need help posting but it's pretty simple.
 | Blindsided Cool. Blogger is pretty easy to figure out and we'd love your contributions. Send me your email so I can send the invite so you can post ;)
 | Blindsided Hey I don't know if you ever checked out our blog: hopelesssound.blogspot.com but it's been the consensus that we would like to have you as a contributor if you had time and would of course like to be part of a blog. Electronic music ftw.
 | FelixCulpa Awesome, glad you liked it. Tried to garner some attention for it a few months back with my mediocre first attempt at a review. Anyway... Have you seen their video for Nephicide? If you haven't http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l24MRTxgvRE Also if you want to listen to an awesome podcast check out UYD (Uhh yeah dude, reason I'm saying this is because the guy who does the electronics on the album does the podcast). Saw that you checked out the boats too, not to impressed?
 | clercqie I ain't stalking nobody, I just happen to like the same albums or lists you like ;)
 | WashboardSuds nice man, glad you like it. Ice Nine, Veto and Foma are highlights for me
 | WashboardSuds thanks man, me and my family went out for a wee vacation, it was pretty fun. I'm Irish so me and sun don't mix too well lol
and a top 100 electronic list? that I gotta see, can't wait to check that one out :) and recs? hmm... I don't know if you listened to Ellen Allien - Sool, but I've been digging that one lately, reminds me of Silent Shout in a way. Also try one of these:
Tycho - Past is Prologue
JES - Disconnect
they're just some interesting hidden electronic albums I unearthed :)
 | WashboardSuds lol I'm baaaaack! I was out of town for the past week, sorry I haven't been on. But I'm back now! any news from Yotimi today?
 | AggravatedYeti damnit sputnik deleting my shout. Anyways: awesome. I get damn near giddy when I offer someone The Cardigans and they like it (works 7 times out of 10 coincidentally). Their Iron Man cover, Step On Me, Never Recover and Great Divide are probably my favorites from that album...probably. I'd recommend you check out Life and Emmerdale, they are in the same twee-lounge vein as First Band. Their subsequent records all vary pretty greatly from one another as far as sound. All good albums though : )
 | Knott- CAUSE I'VE BEEN THINKING ABOUT LEAVING SINCE THE DAY THAT WE METTTTT
 | Knott- Good news! I don't think it quite makes up for your introducing me to Park, but they really were a great band. 'Closer' is one of the best pop-punk songs ever.
 | SeaAnemone oh! another addition to 90's rcs... I noticed you like Leaves Turn Inside You, which is awesome, but Unwound's whole discography is really fantastic. New Plastic Ideas isn't nearly as dense as LTIY but I enjoy it more, you should check it out sometime!
 | SeaAnemone a. thanks man :) that's really cool that you're returning that haha considering I've gotten so so many albums from scouring your ratings! b. just finished Smart Went Crazy and you're definitely right, I really enjoyed it, especially the variation in length/structure... made the long length less of an issue (what's with the last track though?!) c. I second rabbit's recs
 | wabbit His other stuff is good in an individual track sense. Also check out Ben Marwood- Outside There's A Curse (in my top 3 of the year, hard to find though)Dan Mangan- Nice, Nice, Very Nice (less punky but really good)
 | wabbit Pleasantly surprised to see how much you enjoyed Frank Turner.
 | aokuneff just saw pantha du prince last night after listening to this bliss a few times. thanks for that rec dude
 | wabbit It took me forever to really get into Dead Cities but damn is it good
 | wabbit I guess that is where I got it. It's a really great album, I assume the rest of his material is worth my time?
 | wabbit or when you lower and album you dislike. Also this album by Ulrich Schnauss appeared on my computer and I really think you'd dig it
 | CassandraLeo And thanks, btw; you have some really interesting bands in your favourites, including a lot of stuff I should probably be listening to more.
 | CassandraLeo I was splitting tracks for awhile but I've been going back to full song scrobbles. I probably have around 1,500 legit scrobbles, which is still a ton. They're definitely my favourite group.
 | wabbit http://festival-outlook.consequenceofsound.net/fests/view/363/osheaga-festivalnot to make you Jealous but ctrl- F flaming lips
 | WashboardSuds definitely going to check it out, I'll let you know what I think, thanks man
 | Zettel It is ridiculously good. Glad to find anothet Stendeck fan.
 | musicConsumer Facing New York is bad ass. I was thinking about getting there second album but I'm not so sure about it. I heard one song and it was just okay.
 | Kiran thank you thank you, really appreciate it! i'll start working my way through those - already have the apparat record!
 | wabbit met a girl who's favourite band is The Early November last night.
 | Adash Songs For You: http://www.mediafire.com/?n696yan22iheydy
 | wabbit Hey man I've been really behind in my electronic digs got any good recs? Also not to be overly critical but those 4's for talkings heads can **** off.
 | stillexist Do you like the Rev's early stuff or are you partial to the later stuff? I love both, but "Yerself Is Steam" is my favorite. It's an unprecedented album in my opinion, and nothing has ever sounded like it since.
 | stillexist Wow, your favorites list is full of Awesome Dorks! I think you are the first user I've seen who is a big fan of Mercury Rev, which is my favorite band ever. Wow, my taste is astonishingly similar to yours in that I know few people who would listen to both Mastodon and My Bloody Valentine
 | Adash Wordplay for Working Bees by Lucy. Some great s*** in the Arandel vein. And shameless Sputnik promotion
 | WashboardSuds Diggin them epic piano/ambient electronic artists like Secede, Kashiwa Daisuke and BT, grown on me a lot these past few days
 | WashboardSuds Run Into Flowers is an extremely addictive song, seriously. and Tryshasla is a really neat album, i must say.
 | couldwinarabbit was curious as to see whether or not it would be something you'd like.
 | bungy Thanks a lot! I'll let you know
 | WashboardSuds Sweet, good to hear your enjoying him. and I thought he sounded a bit like Justice too in a strange way. Glowing in the Darkest Night is my favorite of his EP's
 | couldwinarabbit It's really good but best thing ever might be a tiny overstatement.
 | pianotuna will check this out and follow you blindly. x
 | random Anywhere With You rules, it's like Local H mixed with Sloan. That's saying something. I'm going on vacation soon, and the record store in my destination has In Reverie for $7.99.
 | random If I see In Reverie by Saves The Day for cheap, I'll get it.
 | couldwinarabbit S/T is his best IMO but his discography is really solid. Also I am in desperate need of a whole pile of pop-punk for my ratings mind giving me a few recs?
 | SeaAnemone [insert reminder to listen to Elliott Smith]
 | SeaAnemone ah yes I knew SOMEbody must share my love of These Days! yeah it's one of my favorites ever... but yes, not sure if you're a Tallest Man On Earth fan, but his somewhat impromptu cover on La Blogotheque "Takeaway Show" is wonderful
 | WashboardSuds that's exactly what I thought when I listened to it, im a sucker for that Lone-ish type of music. Their record is really good. If you like that, check out Kona Triangle's Sing A New Sapling Into Existence. Thats a collaboration between Lone and Keaver
 | robertsona http://stringerbarksdale.bandcamp.com/album/stevedores-2 swag this out for me?
 | WashboardSuds hell yeah man, you seem to read my language when it comes to electronica, like seriously. you're pretty good at this, i don't think you recommended anything to me that i disliked.
btw, got Tryshasla, its a very interesting piece of ambient music that is quite easy to listen to; subtly reminds me of BOC
 | WashboardSuds cool man, going to get it once I get home and see how it digests. have you heard Kashiwa Daisuke? I was browsing for more piano-oriented electronic music because I love piano and I got his Program Music I record, its really good if you haven't heard it yet
 | sifFlammable Hey man what is binary universe / wat does it sound lk?
 | Deviant. Hey man, I have a favor to ask regarding the upcoming user 2010 feature. Would I be able to grab your email so I could talk to you about it?
 | Xenophanes Will I now? Mh, you've piqued my interest sir. I appreciate that, I will download posthaste!
 | AggravatedYeti Hey dude, now outside of Danielson's Ships any single record in particular that you would recommend to me good Yotimi sir? Compiling a little list of things to check out, and well, we are like, ya know, on the same plane here. : )
 | couldwinarabbit The internet is a great thing but this is the best thing I have ever found on it. http://www.blogotheque.net/spip.php?page=cae_all
 | Adash Oh man, I had it all planned out in my head and then I come online to find some little bastard had already wrote a respectable review for it : ( and unless it's SILY or Kayo Dot, I can't do second reviews
 | SeaAnemone haha thanks. truthfully i can't tell if I'm joking or not either but either way it's not good
 | couldwinarabbit lol. But : ( that you both you and porch don't really like this.
 | couldwinarabbit Jens Lekman- Night Falls Over KortedalaI think you'll love it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OODVK5ThWIE(it is s***ty sound quality but the production on the album is really crisp)
 | WashboardSuds his EPs are all great and easier to digest for the most part, so its also a great place to start. my favorite of his EPs is Glowing in the Darkest Night.
and they remind me of Modest Mouse, which is alright because I thought MM was pretty decent. gave it 1 full listen, but it will need a couple more because I'm still uncertain
 | robertsona thanks dude! the new one should be really sweet
 | WashboardSuds also, i got Chris Clark, which I'm enjoying quite a bit. I also thought i'd pick up that Danielson record you reviewed, and thats good but needs some growing time
 | WashboardSuds if you still wanted to check out Pretty Lights, you can get his entire discography off his website for free here: http://www.prettylightsmusic.com/
i'd start with Passing By Behind Your Eyes, but Filling Up The City Skies is really robust and thoroughly enjoyable, hope you like him
 | couldwinarabbit Downloading all of your 5's which I don't have (so 3 albums). Also I think I like Geogaddi more than Music has the right to children
 | BigTuna Will do man! I've been SERIOUSLY digging electronic music as of late, so any more recs would be quite welcome :)
 | AggravatedYeti yyeeess!! haha. Yotimi you're making my day. Check their self-titled and God's Money next if you're interested. Also really great albums.
 | WashboardSuds Favorite of all time, eh? Sounds like a great record to me, been listening to that and Geogaddi. Fav tracks off MHTRTC are Roygbiv, Rue the Whirl, and even that little intro Wildlife Analysis is gold. Choice record, i like it because its more upbeat than Geogaddi but then I like that for the opposite reasons as well, so its a great combo
