  • Divaman Belated Happy Birthday, Sowing. Thought I was ancient when I turned 30. As it turns out, not so much.

  • DeadlyNightShade Hey Sowing, I will be posting my review for the newest Teenage Bottlerocket album today just wanted to give a heads up in advance!
    July 18 02:41 PM
  • danielito19 hey is there any chance of adding new genre tags to the system or is that not something that sput has the resources for atm
    July 17 01:38 PM
  • Rowan5215 dunno how I'd rank it yet but damn the last two songs are god tier
    July 16 11:06 PM
  • Rowan5215 uggggggghhhhhh ok I was gonna wait but I'll listen now. damn you and your sweet tender hyperbole
    July 16 10:19 PM
  • Rowan5215 my hype was already at maximum thruster and then I read the accompanying press release and saw that they compared it to the soundtrack of Twin Peaks... is this heaven??
    July 16 10:14 PM
  • cosmopazz hey sowe can you approve my pole younger news article b4 this website goes down again, i'm departing tomorrow for 2 weeks so it'd be a nice gesture
    July 16 05:49 AM
  • Spec It's more a "me-issue" haha. Was told to go kill myself so many times, mostly by my ex gf, that my current girlfriend and I sarcastically text each other all the time saying "should i kill myself?" Sounds weird but it's lost all meaning to me (thank god)
    July 15 04:16 PM
  • Spec Thanks for the personal response! Its all G, I don't really care tbh.
    July 15 04:01 PM
  • DoofusWainwright Tried 'Harry Patch'...very different. Hard to classify it as a Radiohead song almost. Liked it, not enough to download it yet but I'll revisit it and see if it puts some more hooks in me.
    July 14 11:04 AM
  • macman76 Just got the wp login!
    July 13 01:38 PM
  • neekafat I love that Paramore is your only 5 that doesn't have a sound off lol, classic album for sure!
    July 13 12:49 AM
  • DoofusWainwright The latest B-Side 'Ill Wind' is pretty good too, the last couple of minutes the layering is perfect on that one
    July 12 03:20 PM
  • DoofusWainwright I know 'Spectre', I put that one on my Top 100 list, I'd love a full James Bond album collaboration between Radiohead and Portishead.
    July 12 03:19 PM
  • DoofusWainwright Haven't checked it yet, good reminder
    July 12 03:10 PM
  • LandDiving ditto what butcher said sowing, thanks so much :~)
    July 8 09:15 PM
  • butcherboy happy anniversary and thanks very much for the promotion..
    July 7 05:58 PM
  • collynas441 What do you think about the latest Manchester Orchestra singles and do you have any plans to review the album?
    July 2 07:26 AM
  • leviegalapon Hey Sowing, I released another American Diner album and for some reason its giving me a hard time uploading the album art on it again. If you could help fix it, I would really appreciate it!
    July 1 10:35 PM
  • CaliggyJack Have you seen my Buckethead lists? I cannot believe I did all of that but I was wondering what you thought about the project itself.
    June 27 02:53 PM
  • DoofusWainwright Dunno if you have heard other Radiohead B-Sides but 'Talk Show Host' and 'Cuttooth' would both make my top 20 favourite Radiohead songs. 'Fog' and 'Worrywort' are both essential spins too. If you want to get fully retro 'Bishop's Robes' and 'Banana Co.' are decent Bends era B-Sides too.
    June 27 01:26 PM
  • StKiyo hey man, love your reviews, and you seem to love Brand New as much as me(or even more). what do you think about Sealed to Me and what do you expect of the next album?
    June 25 10:24 PM
  • barcafan21 sowing: complains that june is going to ruin his objectivity, promptly listens to 5 albums between katy perry and kesha to ensure that doesn't happen
    June 25 05:15 PM
  • fromtheinside Ooooooooh! I was wrong there; either way I love it. Hope your well
    June 25 03:11 PM
  • fromtheinside is your prof pic a relient k ref? or did i orverthink
    June 25 02:36 PM
  • fromtheinside you're my fav reviewer. i think i've said that already but that lorde review; lordy
    June 24 08:07 PM
  • DoofusWainwright For some reason the band are having trouble getting the album on itunes/Spotify in the States
    June 22 01:14 PM
  • DoofusWainwright Hope this should work for you https://talitres.bandcamp.com/album/the-machine-that-made-us
    June 22 01:13 PM
  • DoofusWainwright Someone else is out there paying attention then, good to know. I'd say try and find time to give it a spin, might surprise you. Can't believe the 2017 chart isn't up yet, sure there's method behind the madness and it'll suddenly spring to life.
    June 22 06:45 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Thanks for getting the review featured, I'm really intrigued if the album/band can find a following here. Also, when does the 2017 chart go up?
    June 22 01:56 AM
  • DoofusWainwright I think I can rustle up 2 signatures on a petition to get my Flotation Toy Warning review featured - does it make a difference if one of them is SandwichBubble aka the man with 16,000 album ratings? Seriously, the album is incredible, if you have 'In the Aeroplane' 4.7'd you should give it a go. This band could get an audience here, they really deserve it.
    June 21 07:38 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Can a band called 'Flotation Toy Warning' get bumped to the main page?
    June 21 05:37 AM
  • Atari Feel free to review it if u want my man. I really like the title track and 1234. And aboard my train reminds me of a much slower Dorothy. But yeah not as exciting as his last one but also not really bad at all like you mentioned - which makes it a hard one to write about!
    June 19 05:31 PM
  • Atari It's not as good as singing saw but once you get past that it's still pretty good. I read an article where Morby said SS was more Bob Dylan and this one's more Lou Reed (and I'm really not all that familiar with his stuff but it explains the calmer approach I guess). Still haven't had a lot of time to let it sink in yet, but we'll see ;)
    June 18 06:33 PM
  • neekafat Lemme know whatcha think of the new Royal Blood album! It's not as bad as everyone says on here, tho it's definitely not as strong as the debut
    June 18 05:58 PM
  • Nbehre11 Awesome, thanks for the recs! Actually happened to read your review of Prologue earlier today and am really liking what I hear there. I'll check the others too, appreciate it!
    June 17 06:03 PM
  • Nbehre11 Hey Sowing! Got any good sad folk/singer songwriter recs for me? Looking to change it up a bit from the sad indie rock that I usually frequent... stuff similar to fleet foxes/tigers on trains/sufjan I guess haha. Thanks!
    June 16 11:29 PM
  • barcafan21 do you prefer fleet foxes or tigers on trains
    June 16 05:27 PM
  • musicallychallenged thanks for the info, appreciate it
    June 16 12:29 PM
  • ashcrash9 yo Sowing, you ever listen to Portugal. The Man? Their new record's a blast and feels like it'd be up your alley, I think. You're Sput's resident pop reviewer anyway, it'd be a shame to miss this one imo.
    June 16 10:50 AM
  • TalonsOfFire Yeah I'll try to write something up for it
    June 13 01:51 AM
  • Wright Thanks!
    June 12 09:42 PM
  • Stereochrome1 Hey Sowing, I'm having some issues with uploading album art for this record. Any Tips?http://www.sputnikmusic.com/soundoff.php?albumid=254890
    June 12 05:31 PM
  • TalonsOfFire Hey Sowing are you gonna review Planetarium?
    June 12 04:27 PM
  • Wright Sorry, didn't mean to spam. Computer froze lol.
    June 12 04:25 PM
  • Wright I really like your Antlers reviews, as well as your pop reviews in general. And I'd appreciate it if you read mine!
    June 12 04:24 PM
  • Wright Hey man. Not gonna gush or anything, but your reviews (among others) are what got me into reviewing on this site. Thanks for that :)Sincerely, Wright.
    June 12 03:21 PM
  • Homogenic good morning. did you listen katy perry's new album which is called "witness"? i'm shock that it's huge copycat from "1989" and no one spoke about this problem so far. also it has song "swish swish", which is tribute to taylor. hope to see your objective opinion on her "magnum opus". somehow, it deserves some attention from you. thank you!
    June 11 02:00 AM
  • musicallychallenged yeah it was for a new artist. any estimated timeframe on when that issue will be fixed?
    June 9 02:55 PM
  • musicallychallenged sorry to bother you but you seem like an active mod. I keep trying to submit an artist to the database but servers just can't seem to take it. any workarounds? i resized my image to be like 200x200 px and that didn't work. I have a review written for the album and everything
    June 7 06:08 PM
  • collynas441 Hi! How are you? Do you have any plans to review the new Alt-j record?
    June 4 03:21 AM
  • Lucid did you hear planetarium yet? you're the staff sufjan stan after all~
    June 2 10:03 PM
  • Toondude10 just in case if your in the mood for some epic prog rock https://www.goldenmp3.ru/earthside/a-dream-in-static
    June 1 09:11 PM
  • xtrole Nice job on the One More Light review. With all the negative ones, yours was a breath of fresh air.
    May 26 08:01 PM
  • Dylan620 Looking forward to it :D
    May 24 08:15 PM
  • Dylan620 Just out of curiosity, which other Linkin Park tracks would make your top 15 if you were to include their material from Minutes to Midnight onward?
    May 24 06:49 PM
  • KevinKC I never liked Linkin Park and I don't intend to listen to One More Light but please write a review, the general sadistic onanism around the weakness of the album is inhuman and appalling.
    May 24 03:41 PM
  • Green Baron is Irving still MIA?
    May 23 11:26 PM
  • xtrole You should write a review for Linkin Park's new album. The other ones are way too critical. Cheers!
    May 21 07:58 PM
  • LandDiving thank you! keep up the excellent writing :)
    May 21 08:54 AM
  • Toondude10 ehhh I kinda take that back, they're in the realm of pop-punk the same way Brand New is. It's that pop-punk/alt-rock fusion so I'm not sure whether to classify them as one or the other.
    May 21 08:25 AM
  • Toondude10 Their later albums I don't really consider pop-punk honestly. Even so they're really great, especially the album The Greatest Generation.
    May 21 08:19 AM
  • Green Baron Mr. Season, could I get my review featured? The other one's been up for a while already.
    May 20 09:30 PM
  • Toondude10 Have you ever listened to The Wonder Years at all? If not I feel like you should.
    May 20 08:01 PM
  • LandDiving hiya sowing, i tried to add a songwriter called Many Rooms to the database and the site kept freezing, but i logged in earlier and discovered that all of my 10293812 attempts had worked at once. is there any way you or someone else could the rest of the entries so there's only one left? thanks in advance! sorry i'm hopeless at interneting :~)
    May 20 10:17 AM
  • DrGonzo1937 or here:https://deepsands.bandcamp.com/album/theuntitledshortcut
    May 19 12:16 PM
  • DrGonzo1937 Our second new song, Sow. Let us know what you think, man.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ToTBX8HR4tA
    May 19 12:16 PM
  • starboystargirl Was wondering what happened. No worries!
    May 17 04:08 PM
  • Winesburgohio thank you!!!! x
    May 17 07:28 AM
  • Winesburgohio hello! as the grand fromage in the hierarchy of sputnik music dot com -- i'm trying to suss an i/v with Jon Abbey who runs Erstwhile Records, if it's a goer can i pls get a member of staff to post it to the blog on their account? yes i am difficult and impudent, though not importunate if you refuse. Oh gods, let Olympus speak favourably of me! Best wishes xx
    May 16 06:59 PM
  • neekafat No problem! BNE of course is No. 1, s/t has a special place in my heart. The only thing I can see it possibly topping is the debut
    May 15 07:53 PM
  • neekafat Love the new Paramore review man, we seem to see eye to eye on a lot of things even though I think that album isn't quite as good as the rest of their stuff. I think it'll grow on me over time!
    May 15 12:15 PM
  • nocuffin ahh, it should be alright. sorry (again) about the mess.
    May 15 11:37 AM
  • Atari I'm actually not that familiar with the goo goo dolls recent stuff but I stumbled across their new ep and thought the opening track was pretty good. I saw jimmy eat world live recently and have been on a JEW/beach slang/goo goo dolls-esque kick lol. Random but true :]
    May 14 01:36 PM
  • Evokaphile Thanks for the info! Id definitely like to up my contribution to this site. Its been good to me for years!
    May 13 09:57 PM
  • Evokaphile Hey Sowing i was wondering what the deal is with contributor status? Are the applications open only for a short period each year? Im more-often-than-not covering a side of the electronic music world thats growing really fast and visibility on here might be good for web traffic. Anyway any info is appreciated thanks in advance.
    May 13 07:24 PM
  • nocuffin as a quick question, would i be able to review singles that have (accidentally//incorrectly) been added to the database?
    May 13 02:59 AM
  • Toondude10 np, gotta say I enjoyed it more that I thought I would. That being said, I can't stop thinking "diet Chevelle" when I listened to it. Still some pretty decent stuff though.
    May 12 07:48 PM
  • Toondude10 since you were were curious about the new Seether album... https://www.goldenmp3.ru/seether/poison-the-parish
    May 12 07:43 PM
  • Voivod It's a server issue for sure. The day after yesterday, site allowed me 5 album additions and then nada. There's just no logic to it, whereas almost every other content generating site function works as it should.
    May 12 06:11 PM
  • Atari curious what you think if you hear the new goo goo dolls ep my man
    May 12 12:03 PM
  • Toondude10 touche. that reminds me, you check out that EP yet?
    May 11 08:47 AM
  • Toondude10 Yeah it's fun, but so far it's nothing else really. Then again I'm only four songs in so I'm sure there will be something that I'll dig.
    May 11 08:43 AM
  • Toondude10 Listening to the new Paramore rn, gotta say they really know how to have fun with an album.
    May 11 08:38 AM
  • Voivod Hi man, just wanted to let you know that, using Mozilla Firefox, I was allowed to add only one album to the db, before being effectively denied to add more. The same occured with Chrome. Guess I just have to be patient with this glitch, while storing future album additions somewhere conveniently.
    May 10 02:33 PM
  • butcherboy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WlTsET0UU4Ythought you might did this..
    May 9 06:06 PM
  • nocuffin will do. would you mind if i pass some of my future reviews by you just to make sure i ain't breachin any of the boundaries??
    May 9 08:18 AM
  • nocuffin it finna be in ur inbox hopefully : )
    May 9 07:23 AM
  • nocuffin the formality is fairly appropriate given that the aim is ~clarity~, so it's fine. gonna type out my reply noww. thank you : )
    May 9 06:24 AM
  • nocuffin jj120797@hotmail.com : )
    May 8 10:04 PM
  • Toondude10 sh*t, good luck then
    May 6 04:31 PM
  • Toondude10 eh fair enough. maybe I'll rec him that EP the next time he shows up. speaking of which, you check it out yet?
    May 6 04:28 PM
  • Toondude10 how is he not an emeritus btw? I think he's still staff yet he's rarely here.
    May 6 04:21 PM
  • NorthernSkylark THE new low roar. I just thought that since you championed his previous album you might want to review it or at least give it a spin.
    May 5 07:04 AM
  • DrGonzo1937 Thanks a lot Sowing. Nah, we aren't signed, all indepentent at the minute. Just trying to get gigs, for some reason it's really difficult for us, which is a shame, because we play better as a live band. haha Drummer and guitarist have been playing together since they were kids, and I joined their old band, but DEEP SANDS has been going about 3 1/2 years, and we've managed to drop an EP on each year so far. ha The new song drops in a couple of week, I'll drop ya a msg when it does, if you want?
    May 4 12:16 PM
  • Toondude10 One thing for sure is that if Davey came back he would definitely like them.
    May 3 05:46 PM
  • Toondude10 It's a very rock-ish EP, I'm not entirely sure what to compare them with but my best would probably be somewhat mid-Kings of Leon with a hint of late-Anberlin. One of their main influences is apparently Silversun Pickups which is interesting considering that they sound nothing like them.
    May 3 05:38 PM
  • Toondude10 by the way, did you ever get a chance to listen to that EP I sent you?
    May 3 05:13 PM
  • NorthernSkylark Hello sowing. Are you going to review the new low roar? :)
    May 3 05:11 PM
  • theBoneyKing Don't know if it's on your radar or not but you might dig the new Sylvan Esso album.
    May 3 02:18 PM
  • Toondude10 here's a new song from that Sufjan Planetarium album in case you're interested https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmZKVOaTc68
    May 3 01:16 PM
  • theBoneyKing It's a good list but a lot of it is more indie rock/alt-country/Americana than it is indie folk
    May 3 01:09 PM
  • theBoneyKing Paste magazine has an even looser definition of indie folk than you do: https://www.pastemagazine.com/articles/2017/04/the-best-indie-folk-albums-1.html?a=1
    May 2 01:42 PM
  • DrGonzo1937 Thanks man.
    April 29 03:08 AM
  • butcherboy it's cool.. can't find anything on a glance.. if i don't, i'll re-post in may.. and yea, this album is more solid with way less fat on it.. it could well become a 4 by the time it gets released..
    April 28 10:38 AM
  • Toondude10 Hope you like it :-)
    April 27 04:43 PM
  • DrGonzo1937 Hi Sowing, not sure if you'd be interested, but my band dropped its first single for a mini album in August today. If you check it out, let us know what you thought, bud. https://deepsands.bandcamp.com/album/theuntitledshortcut
    April 26 07:32 AM
  • MagicMonk777 I want people on here to listen to the 2nd new BSC song. It's another fantastic track they made so why did you guys reject my article? My grammar was fine.
    April 23 06:38 PM
  • MagicMonk777 Hello sowing. I posted a news article for the new Blood Stain Child music video. Please approve it.
    April 23 06:03 PM
  • Toondude10 I may or may not have rec'd you this band before but either way I'd think you'd enjoy this https://facetheking.bandcamp.com/album/the-burning-the-falling-down
    April 22 08:31 PM
  • TVC15 Huh... That's one of my least favorite albums by the band... But if you liked it that much then the next logical one to check should be Journal for Plague Lovers; great mix of old sound and their poppy songwriting of that time
    April 22 09:53 AM
  • danielcardoso Could i write a little something for Mark Lanegan's album coming out next week if nobody from staff feels like it?
    April 22 06:39 AM
  • mumbleTRAPPER hey, I dont know who the **** approves/disapproves news articles, but if snide can post 30 ****ing articles a day about unknown s***ty risecore bands that hardly ****ing exist, then rejecting my article of a band that actually needs/deserves the exposure is borderline ****ing criminal. pass it on
    April 21 11:39 PM
  • TVC15 When are you gonna check Manic Street Preachers dude? That list was a while ago and I keep waiting for you to hear them hah
    April 19 04:51 PM
  • macman76 Thanks
    April 19 03:13 PM
  • kascetcadettt here's a thread where you can discuss how fantastic it is to be a part of this moment: http://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?listid=174557 \\\ don't be scared to share the news with other guys in case i missed someone out and keep shining in the light of this beautiful rock n roll fireplate, god bless, hasanmedia represent

  • MagicMonk777 Hello sowing. Another new blood stain child song/music video has been released on youtube. Could you post a news article of it for me please? It's another fantastic song. ;)
    April 12 12:58 PM
  • theBoneyKing Keep fighting the good fight on Pure Comedy, we seem to have a lot of opposition.
    April 9 09:11 AM
  • theBoneyKing Nice Pure Comedy soundoff, I feel pretty much exactly the same about it so far.
    April 7 10:14 PM
  • Toondude10 I hear a lot of comparisons to Depeche Mode so I'm sure you'll dig. The first three songs are too damn good.
    April 7 09:26 PM
  • AmericanFlagAsh I was hoping for a more technical answer. It's unexpectedly different from Hot Dreams.
    April 7 09:25 PM
  • Toondude10 I have a feeling you'll really like that new Ulver album
    April 7 09:21 PM
  • AmericanFlagAsh Why 3.3 for the new Timber Timbre?
    April 7 06:18 PM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot what player did you use for your Q1 post?
    April 7 07:34 AM
  • Toondude10 have you ever listened to this band? I'd think you'd like them. https://www.goldenmp3.ru/10-years/the-autumn-effect
    April 5 06:59 PM
  • evilford haha yeah I'll be partying hard for this victory. put it on my resume too. and thanks!
    April 5 05:02 PM
  • butcherboy what are the chances i can toss another review up there while my most recent one is still on the main feed?
    April 5 04:37 PM
  • evilford awesome thanks sir. lemme know if I need to do anything else too
    April 5 04:36 PM
  • evilford so anyways I was just wondering when it would take effect? and if I'd have it forever or just until next tourney?
    April 5 04:27 PM
  • Atari yeah we'll see, hopefully the rest of the album has more going on than the opening track. might dib it later if nobody else does though - supposedly it's a counterpart to singing saw.
    April 5 02:18 PM
  • evilford same one, plz and thanks! http://puregrainaudio.com/images/blogimages/5783.jpg
    April 5 12:44 PM
  • Atari I can't believe kevin morby is already doing a new album this year, though I was kinda underwhelmed by that first track :/
    April 5 11:56 AM
  • Jom Not so much "technical difficulties" as "I'm only going to repeatedly post a YouTube link without any other text in it and call that news." Good on you for being more patient, though!
    April 5 08:05 AM
  • evilford hey sowing I hear I get a big av for winning sput madness...when does that take effect? and will I keep it forever or just until the next tourney?
    April 4 11:23 PM
  • MarsKid Not sure if you're heard Lovedrug before or not. Might be worth your time: https://lovedrug.bandcamp.com/album/pretend-youre-alive-deluxe-2004
    April 4 03:22 PM
  • theBoneyKing Since that song is pretty short you might try this one for the less poppy but equally great end of things: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rsIKbH9p9zI

  • theBoneyKing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjoWHP41-aI That's one of the more poppy ones, there's a fair amount of more reflective songs too. No pressure to check the album of course, I know you focus mostly on new releases and she's not an artist you've enjoyed in the past.

  • theBoneyKing Hey Sowing. I know you don't like Laura Marling but I feel like you might really like her debut (if you haven't heard it). I've been listening to it a lot recently and it's become my favorite from her. It's much more like standard indie folk than her recent stuff and it's a lot brighter and poppier. It even reminds me a bit of early Decemberists in places.

  • Rev Thanks so much dude!! Cheers!
    March 27 11:55 PM
  • DaveyBoy I haven't been picking your taste as accurately of late, but give the Hearts Like Lions LP a listen when you have a chance. I like it a lot and it may be to your liking for a band Id never heard of before. Thanks for keeping up the weekly releases blog, which is where I stumbled on it.
    March 27 06:20 AM
  • Snowdog808 Much appreciated!

    March 25 11:45 AM
  • Snowdog808 Hi again Sowing. Hope you don't mind, but could you please my accidental entry of Arlid Anderson? He's a slight misspelling of Arild Anderson, an artist already on the database that I had to add his 1990 album to in order to rate.
    March 24 10:05 PM
  • Feather Have you listened through Salutations? I found it a lot more enjoyable than Rumanations (and even that was pretty good)
    March 23 09:44 PM
  • butcherboy are track reviews something only staff can do?
    March 18 09:47 PM
  • DoofusWainwright {bump}
    March 17 04:34 PM
  • DoofusWainwright Same for me, I would have had it as a 2.5-3 for the first 5 months I owned it, I thought it was too samey and the lyrics were pretentious/off putting. Then I revisited after taking a long break and it just clicked and became one of those albums you don't even need hooks/favourite parts because every second is a hook/favourite part now.
    March 17 12:00 PM
  • DoofusWainwright How do you rate the album? I do think without Laziest River, even though it's not in itself the best standalone song, I'd find it hard to still rate the album a 5 overall. It almost hints the Kaputt world could have been entirely instrumental, or that this instrumental music surrounds the album before and after you finish listening to it in some alternate reality.
    March 17 11:52 AM
  • DoofusWainwright If you aren't already hooked to 'Kaputt' by the end of 'Chinatown' I'll be surprised
    March 17 11:10 AM
  • DoofusWainwright You have a National album 5'd - this is good enough
    March 17 10:09 AM
  • DoofusWainwright SandwichBubble aka the man with approx 20,000 incorrect ratings
    March 17 09:58 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Hasn't the sandwich dude already taken that role here?
    March 17 09:55 AM
  • FourthReich Awesome ill release the bracket tomorrow its a diverse spectrum.
    March 14 03:05 AM
  • LordePots Hey sowing any way I can privately message you about something?
    March 13 11:28 AM
  • FourthReich unless you win you can just ban yourself or something
    March 13 01:26 AM
  • FourthReich hey im doing sput march madness and have the brackets all set, is it cool if i promise the winner with a big av like we used to?
    March 13 01:25 AM
  • theBoneyKing I didn't like her last one but I love the one before that. This one is somewhere in between, I'm hoping it grows a bit more.
    March 11 07:36 AM
  • Snowdog808 Thank you very much Sowing! I knew I could count on you to fix the glitch mistakes.
    March 11 02:47 AM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot yeah new Laura Marling isn't v good
    March 11 01:09 AM
  • theBoneyKing Bad Laura Marling rating.
    March 10 09:39 PM
  • Snowdog808 Hi again Sowing. Sorry to bother you yet again, but I accidentally added the jazz act Joe Albany on the database six times in an attempt to submit one of his live albums. Would you care to the five blank band entries for him pretty please?
    March 10 07:48 PM
  • klap i've only listened to it twice since it doesn't come out for a while, but obviously i wasn't jazzed to keep it on repeat. like a bunch of 6 minute songs that sound like Randy Newman just tinkling on a piano
    March 8 11:21 PM
  • Drifter Pretty accurate No Resolution rating tbh
    March 8 05:19 PM
  • wtferrothorn Yeah, I wouldn't consider her vocals to be the greatest thing about her music, but they're sweet enough. I just believe she has the ability to write solid, charming songs. It might not blow everyone's mind away, but I really enjoy it.
    March 8 01:34 PM
  • wtferrothorn Hey sowing, I really think you'd dig that Jay Som record!
    March 7 12:52 PM
  • neekafat Restarted my laptop, everything seems to be working fine. I have no idea what the problem was but I'm glad it's all good now
    March 7 01:54 AM
  • SputnikTestAccount Where'd you get that Ariana gif? Like what video is it from?
    March 5 07:21 PM

    March 4 09:45 AM
  • BlushfulHippocrene Getting on it right now, mate. If I've found a new favourite band, I owe you one.
    March 3 05:46 PM
  • Dewinged I'll give it some time and some more spins and if no one does I'll give it a shot for sure. Thanks Sow.
    March 3 07:16 AM
  • Dewinged Surprising indeed. Well it's a major release so I'll wait for any of the new wonderful contribs to write it up. I just jammed it this morning and I don't know how I feel about it. I need some extra opinions this time ;)
    March 3 07:09 AM
  • Dewinged Sow are you or any other staff gonna review the new Temples?
    March 3 02:54 AM
  • FullOfSounds What's that Dude York album like? It piqued my interest on the weekly albums blog.
    March 2 08:50 PM
  • neekafat I'd love additional pointers if you get the time eventually, but if it's not too important then I suppose it isn't necessary. Thank you for letting me know!
    March 2 12:06 PM
  • StreetlightRock Yeah man, there's nothing else quite like it, and I find myself involuntarily grooving when I put it on. I just wish I could get on board with his voice more than I do!
    March 2 09:37 AM
  • Frippertronics Yeah, I figured Sputnik could potentially use an overhaul. It's only been four years since the last significant change to the site's look, but I'd say the site as a whole could use a bit more refining...like getting musical neighbors back perhaps (rip)
    March 2 04:45 AM
  • neekafat Hey thanks for accepting my application for contrib! I know I didn't get chosen but I was just wondering if there was any particular comment about my writing or my experience that was a major barrier in my moving forward. I realize I'm really new to the site and haven't gotten a ton of reviews out yet, but any comments or advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks!
    March 2 12:59 AM
  • Frippertronics hey man, I've heard there's some interest in expanding upon the blog a bit more. Not gonna get too big for my britches here, but I figured I'd just let you know if there's a need for genre-based evaluations, band overlooks (see: my beach boys list, which i've planned a massive revision), and vinyl-oriented articles due to the abundance of people getting into the medium and constantly what setups they should use, etc. If there's any interest, I'm always free to help.
    March 1 10:36 PM
  • Storm In A Teacup Have you seriously only heard two Trophy Scars albums? Their EPs are their best material
    March 1 07:57 PM
  • Gmork89 Only in the sense that they have that 90s alternative rock vibe, Splender is a bit more upbeat I would say, less of the ballad type of songs. There are definitely some catchy tracks on that album though.
    February 28 11:03 AM
  • theBoneyKing I'm guessing you probably weren't going to anyways but I can confirm you needn't bother with the new Old 97's
    February 27 10:34 PM
  • Divaman Will do. Thanks much.
    February 27 06:47 PM
  • BlushfulHippocrene Cheers Sowing. I understand, mate, and that means quite a lot coming from you, much appreciated. :] Plan on writing as much as I can in the coming months.
    February 27 04:30 PM
  • VirtualBlaze i'm actually 6 and i did ur mum looool
    February 27 02:35 PM
  • Divaman I put in an application even though I've only been part of the site for about half a year. I'm guessing that one of the things I'd need to do to up my game to be considered for a contrib spot in the future is to review the occasional new album. Do you have any other feedback for me?
    February 27 02:29 PM
  • MercuryToHell Hey dude, just had a couple of mod questions for you...1) My review of Petrol Girls' 'Talk Of Violence' has basically ****ed their page up, as I seem to have created two albums, is there any way we can combine the artwork, review and title into one?2) One of my own albums (under messFX) seems to really dislike having it's artwork up, is there a way I can force it on there? Also thankyou for being part of the decision to get me on board as contrib, means the absolute world to me!
    February 27 02:15 PM
  • VirtualBlaze Yo! I'm actually glad that I didn't get accepted as Contributor this time. A lot of insane things have been going on in my life right now, and I'd rather not add on one more big change. Although I'd like to ask what played into rejection, if there was anything significant. Maybe my age? I'm just looking for reasons and see if I can fix them or not.
    February 27 01:41 PM
  • kascetcadettt that sucks man
    February 27 12:01 PM
  • kascetcadettt can you bring it back or it's gone forever, i didn't save it
    February 27 11:58 AM
  • kascetcadettt on a serious note tho why have you taken down my review of Nightmare Puppy - Mirrored Headbutt//Romantic Porn, it'd go down in history as one of the funniest
    February 27 11:57 AM
  • kascetcadettt they're not cool
    February 27 11:56 AM
  • kascetcadettt yeah you came here kind of under the radar, so we expect big things from you
