  • AmericnZero02 Oh jeez, I feel like I'm becoming one of those jaded elitist music fans now.
    May 12 04:54 PM

  • CaptainHadouken Well they have it on amazon as well, but good god trying to find an album stream is a freaking a pain.
    April 23 10:05 AM
  • CaptainHadouken Yeah it can be a pain in the ass, but living in europe it was a lifesaver trying to get music due to the whole out of country music laws online. I'll look around for another source.
    April 23 09:57 AM

    April 22 05:58 AM
  • schoonda glad you're enjoying it, they are exceptional and i think they will go far, with plenty of support from Radio. However, as you said, EP and LP are on par, the replay value for me on both isnt as fantastic as i would like to hope.
    April 22 05:57 AM
  • schoonda see you've been listening to mallory knox's debut, thoughts?

  • IpodMastery Hey dude, Pt.2 is going to confuse you more than pt.1
    April 2 07:55 PM
  • ReturnToRock Hey Davester, I know you like punk pop and I just discovered these guys, who don't bore me like most other current bands of the genre. Maybe it's because they sound less emo and more like MxPx (A LOT like MxPx, in fact) or New Found Glory. Anyway, they have two of their four releases up for free download, so check them out: http://therealdanger.bandcamp.com/
    March 25 07:33 AM
  • ReturnToRock I literally just made the connection between your username and the British Bulldog being in your profile image yesterday. LOL I'm an idiot.

    March 20 05:06 AM
  • skoopy48 Hey Davey you should check out the band Brighten for pop punk ish stuff. They started out rockier but are now pretty much acoustic. Still I've been digging their stuff lately

    March 13 07:11 AM
  • IpodMastery A combination of no lunch, huge croud, the sun was blasting the moisture out of the air and three shirts on lol (shoulda known better) still held onto the drumstick i managed to catch beforehand though. I have no recollection of being pulled over the barrier and found myself on a stretcher in the aid tent
    February 25 07:13 AM
  • IpodMastery Yeah I remeber it's one of your usuals, I'll be doing what I can but considering I was unconcious for the start of Stone Sour things might come up a little hazy
    February 25 06:54 AM

    February 24 09:04 PM
  • IpodMastery Thanks dude, doesnt mean im going to stop aiming. Have yiu had your Soundwave yet, stay away from flairs
    February 24 04:22 PM
  • andcas well darn. I have to put up with a few miscreants around these parts at times but other than that I'm pretty straight laced on here. I guess 2 or 3 nods is better than none.
    February 24 06:33 AM
  • andcas I appreciate the mention. any insight as to why I was passed over in the end?
    February 24 06:08 AM
  • andcas interesting outcome of the deliberations. hopefully I make it next time.

  • TooLateToGoBack Davey, would you give The Pierces - Love You More a listen and tell me what you think? Thanks. I heard them on a UK concert show and fell in love with that track, lol.
    February 15 03:06 PM
  • schoonda Ah OK, unfortunately for you your tastes are a lot broader than mine. My main 3 in blink deaf Havana and blackout lineup nicely. Surprised to see tbo main stage?
    February 13 07:04 AM
  • schoonda Yes I saw them once back when they were here with lostprophets, travelled all the way to Sydney with my dad because I was underage! It was actually that gig that got me into heavier music. Hoping they play a lot of older stuff though. Who you plan to see on the day? :)
    February 13 06:32 AM
  • schoonda I'm glad you agree with me, I think that the album is very catchy in parts but like you said, it lacks depth and some songs sound too samey. definitely their worst but im still seeing them at soundwave.
    February 12 08:05 PM
  • andcas you should check out my latest review and the album. sure you'd like both.

  • breakingthefragile I haven't gotten around to listening to Indigo yet, but it's been in the back of my mind for a few months now. Might give it a listen today, I hear it's shares a lot in common with time travel, which I don't mind at all.
    January 30 01:03 PM
  • FelixCulpa Yeah so far she's only done that single but and ep is in the works. I found out about here on this site: http://whothehell.net/archives/17485 So far there isn't exactly much info about here but I agree there is lots of potential in her music. Maybe you could do a song of the day blog post ;)

  • joshieboy12345 http://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/54599/No-Bragging-Rights-The-Consequence-of-Dreams/ Hey mate would you take a look at this review and give us an opinion? I know you are one of the top reviewers on this site. Would be appreciated. Cheers.
    January 25 12:38 AM
  • NorwichScene Just done a review for it (prob not very good, I always get slated for reviews lol)
    January 24 11:50 AM
  • FelixCulpa Sorry for the double post but this band also apparently features members from Parades! http://arrestrecordsaustralia.bandcamp.com/album/snakeface-oberon
    January 24 09:54 AM
  • FelixCulpa You've probably heard Light Giants (You know the brother from Parades band) song "Waste of Wine" but have you heard their other track? https://soundcloud.com/lightgiant (3 tracks there but the S/T one and Shint Mt. are the same.) Such an awesome song. Also since you should give this Aussie lady a listen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0EzK17tC1Eo

  • NorwichScene Davey.. Listen to Mallory Knox - Signals. I think you'll like it

  • fish. can we expect a scathing daveyreview?
    January 22 01:31 PM
  • fish. Have you heard The Blackout's new album? Pretty boring imo
    January 21 01:24 PM
  • SowingSeason I don't want to make any rash decisions though, so I'm going to see how everything pans out over the next few months. tl;dr verson: I stopped giving a s*** and ratings feel unimportant, so I said f everything and 2.5'd every pop-punk album ever released so that you could have all the glory when I'm inevitably axed from the staff list for being a confounded, indecisive idiot.
    January 17 09:07 PM
  • SowingSeason Nah man I appreciate what you're saying. To be honest I took a long look at my ratings and just got disgusted with how much 4.0-5.0 material I don't like anymore, then probably overcompensated for it. I've also been enjoying the perks of having a gf, and preparing for a new teaching job 1.5 hours from home. I think it has kind of made me out of touch with the site. My review quality has also been slipping, and I've been considering emeritus status as of late.
    January 17 09:05 PM
  • SowingSeason 4.5's should be reserved for the year's top album or two. My opinion did sway drastically on some albums, but Southern Air (for example) was just a case of me readjusting. Ratings all just feel so arbitrary to me now, it's hard to get a grasp on what anything really is.
    January 17 06:09 PM
  • SowingSeason It wasn't that I changed my mind by like, 2-3 points, I just readjusted how I rate what I listen to. I feel as though I have always been way too generous, 4-ing and even 4.5-ing albums that meant nothing to me a mere month later. So a lot of those albums dropped to 3's. Now, if something strikes me as above average, that's what it will get. If it sticks with me, it gets a 3.5. If it proves itself to be an exceptional work, then maybe a 4.
    January 17 06:08 PM
  • schoonda davey, have you heard of mallory knox? i think they'd be right up your alley, they are playing live on radio 1 now as i speak, their debut album drops this monday.
    January 17 02:54 PM
  • HBFS 'twas my song of the year for 2012.
    January 8 07:52 AM
  • HBFS yeah, i find it hard to resist listening to songs released before some albums. (eg. listened to all 3 foals, and all 3 this town needs guns (gonna be aoty 2013, you watch) ;) that's fair. i'm not sure which is the current single. elephant or feels like we only go backwards?
    January 8 07:06 AM
  • HBFS hey davey. hope you had a good 2012! i quite enjoyed the classic crime's album, i don't think nearly as much as you did though. did you hear tame impala's latest? and are you looking forward to new foals?
    January 8 06:42 AM
  • Deviant. This is what I would classify as commercial or mainstream drum and bass, but within the scene: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wt73VgEK7tQ
    January 4 11:50 PM
  • Deviant. Yeah I quite dug the vocals actually. And I wonder what this guy would be like without having anyone to bounce off, I couldn't see either of those songs working solely as instrumentals
    January 4 11:44 PM
  • Deviant. Yeah the first one was the track I heard about 30 seconds of somewhere (I think it was in a bar). I'd be lying if I said that I enjoyed it, but as far as being a really poppy take on drum and bass I suppose it could be a lot worse. Though the buzzsaw bass effects he throws in at the end of every measure a little bit grating. You're a fan?
    January 4 11:40 PM
  • SowingSeason Awesome, glad you enjoyed it. I don't know if they will get better tbh, they seem like the kind of band that will peak early with a single (We Come Running) and then fall off the face of the Earth. I hope you are right though, perhaps they have a good LP in them somewhere.
    January 4 07:58 AM
  • Deviant. I honestly can't say that the name rings a bell, nor can i admit to listening to the radio in some time. Do you have a link?
    January 4 06:20 AM
  • TheNotrap Happy new year Davey.
    December 31 06:48 PM
  • Irving 1234 ratings!! WOOHOO! XD
    December 31 02:53 AM
  • Cygnatti Well, Speak Now is easily her best album and it does not have a lot of country in it at all. Her newest album, though, is full-blown pop. I'm guessing you probably already heard I Knew You Were Trouble on the radio, so I'll give you this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHvys3BJmko
    December 29 10:53 PM
  • Cygnatti that new taylor swift album is calling your name buddy ;]
    December 29 10:29 PM
  • Cygnatti we're patiently waiting for your 2012 list, davey. ;]
    December 15 02:04 PM
  • schoonda hmm fair enough, really hope they do a sideshow too, 6 or so songs is not enough! i'm sure you have a stack of bands you plan to see? my main priorities are the blackout, deaf havana, and blink so i'm hoping there are no clashes there.
    November 24 10:35 PM
  • schoonda yeah look to be honest, it's certainly not bad, but its not great, i actually have had the chorus of running scared in my head all day yesterday.i think that as much as it will be an ok album, it won't be a 'blackout' album btw will you be seeing deaf havana at melbourne soundwave?
    November 24 04:20 PM
  • schoonda hey davey, would be interested to hear what you think of the blackouts new singles and the new direction if you will? you diggin it or a bit let down?
    November 24 07:50 AM
  • IpodMastery Cheers man, ill appreciate the opportunity if or when it may or may not show up, ready when you guys are.
    November 23 07:23 AM
  • IpodMastery Hey man, do you (or anyone) know if there's any openings for a contributing reviewer, really like to get into this.
    November 23 07:05 AM
  • Omaha Hey Davey! Are you planning on covering Matt and Toby? I'm wondering because I'll cover it if you don't.
    November 22 05:19 PM
  • ASnideRemark Hey Davey - http://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/53403/Capture-the-Crown-Capture-the-Crown---Singles-EP/ You should listen to this lol
    November 19 10:19 PM
  • SowingSeason Yeah I'd give at least a few of them a quick listen. I'm sure there's even more I could have rec'd but I tried to limit it to stuff that seemed like your or my style. Got any essential recs for me?
    November 12 07:39 AM
  • AmericnZero02 The list of albums I've picked up this year is pretty slim. Anything you'd recommend I check out?
    November 11 03:22 PM
  • AmericnZero02 Alright, lets see... As far as post-hardcore stuff goes, I really liked Hands Like Houses debut. For metal: Wolves at the Gate also put out a really great debut. Alt/rock: Anberlin's new record of course. A little band from down under called Drawing North put out a solid EP this year. Showbread's new record is pretty enjoyable. I really like Broadway's new record, despite the low sputnik rating. The thing is ridiculously catchy (see our Lostprophets' "Liberation Transmission" convo).
    November 11 03:20 PM
  • SowingSeason Some other recs that I'm pretty sure you haven't heard yet and could be down your alley: Dirty Projectors - Swing Lo Magellan, Tigers on Trains - Foundry (for an even better album by them check out their debut Grandfather), The Antlers - Undersea, mewithoutYou - Ten Stories (lyrics are phenomenal), Regina Spektor (Seems like you should know about her, hopefully you've heard this!), Norah Jones - Little Broken Hearts, Geographer - Myth, Beach House - Bloom, Swans - The Seer (I had to)
    November 10 10:10 AM
  • SowingSeason Most people seem to enjoy Grizzly Bear LP, I liked the first song a lot but found the majority to be flat out boring (even though the band is talented). Definitely have a Davey-ish rec for you that I'm not sure if you've heard yet: Youngblood Hawke - EP by Youngblood Hawke (not on Sputnik but listen to "We Come Running" on youtube or DL the whole thing on itunes).
    November 10 09:59 AM
  • AliW1993 In that case the Manics and FOTL are both guaranteed hits! Probably best to go chronologically with MSP. Most people scoff at their earlier glam influences but I can't see that being a problem for you :p
    November 10 08:36 AM
  • AliW1993 I admire its ambition but it all seems a little empty to me. Pelican rules though. Also I noticed going through your ratings you have no Manic Street Preachers. Not relevant to 2012 but I'm pretty sure you'll love them.
    November 10 08:13 AM
  • AliW1993 Never liked Grizzly Bear much, don't know whether you would or not tbh. Probably worth a go. Recs.... Alt-J and Future Of The Left's new albums are both worth the hype. The Walkmen's new record is one of my aoty contenders, and although I don't particularly like it I think you'd enjoy The Maccabees' latest.
    November 10 07:01 AM
  • klap a fine frenzy - pines. off the top of my head. let me get back to you on this. never been a huge grizzly bear fan tho
    November 10 04:59 AM
  • mutatedfreek DAmn straight that's what it is. New album's gonna be ace.

  • AtavanHalen was soooo goood. hope you're good too. hey i just released an album. nothingrhymeswithdavid.bandcamp.com
    November 4 12:32 AM
  • AtavanHalen saw ellie goulding last night. fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.
    November 1 08:22 PM
  • breakingthefragile Thanks Davey! I appreciate you taking the time to tell me that, it feels good to know a writer as good as you thinks I'm doing a good job. And yeah, I've been practicing to make my reviews a bit more concise, I'll get there soon hopefully.
    October 17 02:49 PM
  • SowingSeason The iTunes tracks are slightly better than the stream, although I'll be honest I never thought the stream sounded that bad
    October 16 10:22 PM
  • SowingSeason Oh yeah that's right. I hope the stream quality isn't the same as what I downloaded from iTunes yesterday, I'd be pissed if I paid money for something inferior sounding. Anyway, i'm glad you like it.
    October 16 08:50 AM
  • SowingSeason have you heard the new anberlin yet?
    October 15 11:03 PM
  • schoonda Hey Davey, i have found this solo artist who is massively underrated and think you 'may' be interested he's the ex-drummer of UK band fei comodo. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i_21aV1OYE0one of the bests EPs i've heard yet he is relatively unknown.
    October 14 02:37 AM
  • Cygnatti you have a good dig, sir davey
    October 13 07:47 AM
  • aokuneff yay or nay on anais mitchell?
    October 13 07:08 AM
  • Brostep Cool, I'll give them a shot and tell ya what I think. Thanks for the suggestions!
    October 8 10:05 PM
  • Brostep Hey man, I just checked out "Cities" by Anberlin and holy s*** I'm blown away. I've realized that that kind of music (almost pop-punky rock?) is right up my alley, so since I'm pretty new to the genre can you rec me the absolute essentials? Thanks in advance!
    October 8 08:43 AM
  • LifeAsAChipmunk okay, from here go to the band names link "colour color" : http://absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?t=2907282

  • LifeAsAChipmunk Here Daveyboy, this band has your name written all over it. http://absolutepunk.net/artists/showlink.php?do=showdetails
    October 6 09:16 AM
  • ReturnToRock Thanks. I was saying that for me the order goes Dead Silence, II, I, Watoosh, III. Haven't heard the live albums.
    October 4 09:26 AM
  • ReturnToRock Yeah I was going to review DS but somehow my review wasn't flowing. For me it's about a 4, Uno's a 3.5, Hot Cakes is a 4 and the new TDG is a 2 to 2.5 tops. DS and The Darkness's are the best in their careers IMHO.
    October 4 07:49 AM
  • ReturnToRock Dave-O, I demand your opinions on new The Darkness, Green Day, BT and TDG, pronto! Surprised you didn't review Dead Silence tbh.
    October 3 12:13 PM
  • AliW1993 I admire the thinking behind it, and like most of Ashley's decisions it makes sense. There's no way he'll still be here in eight years though. Mixed start for Southampton...
    September 29 10:13 AM
  • aokuneff i was going on your avatar as well as your like of mumford and sons. i was a big fan of the album ( http://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/51124/Anais-Mitchell-Young-Man-in-America/ ) so i'm inclined to say just about anyone would be
    September 27 09:28 PM
  • aokuneff hiya davey . did you listen to anais mitchell's 'young man in america' ? i think you'd dig it
    September 27 07:34 PM
  • Hep Kat http://maskedintruder.bandcamp.com/
    September 25 04:04 PM
  • LifeAsAChipmunk Yes Davey, in my opinion, The Sun and The Sea is very catchy. Definitely not as good as Only Every Time, though.
    September 22 12:59 PM
  • NorwichScene Quality, buying my tix for Yellowcard this morning soon as they go on sale
    September 21 02:53 AM
  • Deviant. I disagree, simply because we have the benefit of being able to distinguish with our database - the LPs, EPs tags etc. Record stores and the like can't, so there has to be that "display", and the artist obviously needs to imply that it isn't a full length by some means. Again, we can show that without really needing to address it if you get what I mean
    September 19 04:01 AM
  • NorwichScene Your knowledge isn't as immense as I thought hehe ; ) I've never heard of them either
    September 18 04:28 PM
  • NorwichScene Davey!!! Yellowcard in 2 days for you...Set it off and Like Torches are supporting in UK, you heard of either of them?
    September 18 04:51 AM
  • joshieboy12345 Mate, reviewing the new Go Radio?
    September 17 07:33 AM
  • Sanders Will we be seeing a Davey review of the new Go Radio?
    September 16 07:32 AM
  • SowingSeason Sweeeeeeeet. I didn't know you liked YC that much.
    September 8 10:08 AM
  • Vooligan Just a little ditty i thought you'd enjoy, haha: http://over-reactor.bandcamp.com/track/when-collingwood-choke
    September 3 10:18 AM
  • mutatedfreek Uhh it's probably worth a listen if you have 2 hours to spare. It's a tough listen though, took me a few times to get over the weirdness (although I played it out of order the first few times). I'm unsure it has enough immediacy for you. Not as good as all the 5s suggest though.
    August 31 10:54 PM
  • mutatedfreek Well you'll have to beat me to the punch. Can't really say I knew what the lead singer looked like in the first place, I'd assumed he was the generic clean-cut type though.
    August 31 04:27 PM
  • mutatedfreek apparently it's a few months old, but I just discovered it.
    August 29 07:32 PM
  • mutatedfreek omg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=haGtWXElfhw
    August 29 07:31 PM
  • mutatedfreek Well I look forward to it then. I'm actually of the minority opinion that their debut was overhyped and I prefer this one by quite a way. 3.5-4 sounds like a good rating to me.
    August 21 08:06 PM
  • mutatedfreek sup big man, you reviewing Beacon at all?
    August 20 06:26 PM
  • klap what is this soccer everyone keeps speaking of
    August 19 03:41 AM
  • Vooligan So i've come to the conclusion that after about round 12, we tried to clone everyone except Jobe and the cloning failed miserably, creating a terrible football team that Jobe has to try and lead. I went yesterday and it was absolutely disgusting. On the other hand, i'll be barracking for North in the finals, last nights game was beautiful.
    August 18 11:08 PM
  • klap i will give you another chance. League Id: 590968Password: figure8make sure to check the settings first to prevent bitching later. draft time is flexible.
    August 18 05:47 PM
  • IAmKickass Thanks for the advice man, it helps a lot. I usually take a minimum of three listens before I rate, but I'm waiting for a job to start so I spend a lot of time sitting around just listening to music. I'm definitely going to try and take more time on listens though.
    August 14 12:24 PM
  • Vooligan Bloody North and Boomer Harvey!
    August 14 10:35 AM
  • SowingSeason Thanks for showing me that. It's always nice to see what people outside of the site think of my work. I wonder if the band will see it? I know one of their members commented on observers 2011 review.
    August 14 07:55 AM
  • IAmKickass Thank you for making me re-visit TCC. Now that I pay attention to the album and read the lyrics along I found a whole new amount of respect for it. Expecting a 4-4.5 rating.
    August 13 11:20 PM
  • SowingSeason Not to in any way degrade an album that you adore, but does the vocalist for A Classic Crime, at leats in the song "A Beautiful Darkside" sound like Patrick Stump? It's late here so just tell me if I'm crazy. Also, I am really liking the album so far.
    August 13 11:13 PM
  • Deviant. Feature? No, that never happened. Since Jom emailed me about the whole mod thing nothing else has happened
    August 13 05:33 AM
  • IAmKickass TCC? Yeah it was half hearted and I know I'm going to like it more after another listen. I'll check it out again tonight, man.
    August 12 10:06 PM
  • IAmKickass What's that about? Haha.
    August 12 04:08 PM
  • Knott- You should check out that new Abel LP. It's awesome.
    August 12 04:06 AM
  • AmericnZero02 Killerrrrrr. Thanks for the heads up. That just made my day.
    August 11 01:53 PM
  • SowingSeason Oh so it's not YC? That makes more sense now...ignore the comment I just made in the Southern Air thread haha. What's the album if you don't mind me asking? Don't worry, I won't ninja review it before you can post anything ;)
    August 11 02:19 AM
  • SowingSeason You're reviewing the new YC too? Nice, I look forward to reading it. And yes, let's take over Sputnik. We each need to get promoted to ModAdmins so we can only feature pop-punk
    August 10 11:58 PM
  • LifeAsAChipmunk Check this band out, Davey. http://theholidayelectric.bandcamp.com/
    August 10 10:51 AM
  • thatoneguy726 check it:http://wearejuicebox.bandcamp.com/
    August 9 08:45 PM
  • AliW1993 Yeah 6 years is a pretty big commitment, he must have something. Big, clumbsy centre back? Sounds like the type of player I'd like. I imagine he'll get minutes this year in the Europa League or the League Cup, especially given that it's a position we're relatively short in.
    August 3 02:37 PM
  • AliW1993 As you are the site's resident Aussi football expert, I'd appreciate your thoughts on Curtis Good...
    August 1 07:30 PM
  • LifeAsAChipmunk Yeah, I was worried about that. That was the my first qualm with the album, there were no standout tracks that were overly catchy. It's still catchy to me, but oh well.
    July 29 09:17 AM
  • TheNotrap Thanks a lot Davey!
    July 23 10:20 AM
  • TheNotrap Already post it. Thanks in advance and sorry for the trouble Davey.
    July 23 08:45 AM
  • TheNotrap Cheers Davey. Do you have some free time to give an overview over my latest review? English is not my first language...just to check some possible grammar mistakes and the text structures.
    July 22 04:58 PM
  • HBFS Rumour is Maric wasn't just rested last week. groin issues. Ziebell was very stiff. You would think Adams would come up but you never know. god, I hate Judd (and all of carlton).. thanks for beating them last week to make amends for the week before!
    July 18 09:50 AM
  • HBFS i wouldn't worry too much. you guys are up and about right now. exciting brand of footy. though i will laugh if you finish 9th again..
    July 18 08:50 AM
  • HBFS I do like it. maybe just listen to the lead single 'flaws' first. well, that's disappointing for you. I really like it. missed out on foals last year, so i want to make up for that as well. also, you go for norf right?
    July 18 08:12 AM
  • HBFS hey davey. been awhile! have you heard the new hunting grounds album? and what are your thoughts on the bdo lineup?
    July 18 04:08 AM
  • mutatedfreek You should check out new Passion Pit album. Very much your thing, poppy indie dancey stuff and it's awesome and stuff.
    July 17 08:07 AM
  • nash1311 Yeah I guess I need moar pop
    July 12 08:29 AM
  • nash1311 Having now looked at your ratings and favorites and all... how are we not neighbors? haha. Too much core for me I guess.
    July 12 08:28 AM
  • SkankinJake Oops. Thought those tags would have turned it into a link. My bad!
    July 11 11:18 AM
  • SkankinJake Different band. We're hitting the studio again in late August (hopefully), so when that happens I'll definitely let you know. But these guys are close friends of mine and they're starting to break out. I just found out today that you can stream the whole EP on absolutepunk. Here's the link [A]http://absolutepunk.net/artists/showlink.php?l=49022[/A]
    July 11 11:18 AM
  • Dylan620 Hey Davey, have you heard Bodyjar's song "Not the Same?" I first heard it on Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3, and I've loved it ever since. It's Australian pop-punk.
    July 10 03:33 PM
  • SkankinJake I have something for you to check out and possibly review. My friends band "Of Fortune and Fame" are releasing a new EP called Perspective off Panic Records, and it comes out July 24th. However, I have a digital copy and I'm sure they'd be more than happy if I let you hear it!
    July 10 11:54 AM
  • LifeAsAChipmunk Hey there, Davey, I'm just here very patiently waiting for that the Sun and the Sea review that I know you'll write. :3
    July 9 10:16 PM
  • Deviant. Could just be your own magnetism offshooting the rumbling haha. Yeah tell me about it, half the way up the north island and shook my whole apartment building for a good 30 seconds
    July 4 09:49 AM
  • mutatedfreek Fair enough, good to hear that it's in good hands at least. Although it's not technically new music or anything, the 11 minute preview is very very good and gives a bit of background into the band's tastes and stuff. I reckon you'd enjoy it: http://soundcloud.com/k7-records/foals-tapes-preview-1st-10
    June 30 12:25 PM
  • mutatedfreek Sup man, you planning on getting Foals' Tapes? Reviewing it? I might give it a go myself, a mixtape seems like a suitable challenge, and Foals are my favouritest favourites.
    June 29 06:42 PM
  • macadoolahicky I, too, have a hard time choosing between those two, for different reasons though.
    June 28 12:56 AM
  • macadoolahicky Favorite Thursday album?
    June 26 03:53 PM
  • ReturnToRock Well, yeah, the grunts suck, but neither the cleans nor the screeches seemed any worse than those of any other run-of-the-mill melodeath band.
    June 21 07:37 AM
  • ReturnToRock Design The Skyline. Positive review. That is all.
    June 21 07:03 AM
  • AliW1993 Are you planning on writing anything for the new Maximo Park record?
    June 11 06:43 PM
  • AtavanHalen take that weak s*** to the park; maybe the squirrels will care
    June 11 02:50 AM
  • Deviant. Yeah that's what I gave it. Musicianship is still great and her voice still sounds as good as ever but there's nothing memorable about it at all
    June 10 01:19 AM
  • Deviant. http://www15.zippyshare.com/v/12584079/file.html
    June 7 02:24 AM
  • Deviant. Now that I've added the new Amy Macdonald album to the db it is now your duty to review it. I shall be waiting
    June 7 01:39 AM
  • Vooligan You guys are our bogey side, always seem to play well against us. I don't think anyone could have stopped Franklin today, though. He was virtually unstoppable.
    June 2 04:37 AM
  • Vooligan Buddy = 1, Shinboner Spirit = 0
    June 2 03:09 AM
  • LifeAsAChipmunk Fair enough. His voice is quite nasally, but I really do think you'll like the album.
    May 31 03:49 PM
  • LifeAsAChipmunk Davey, listen to this guy, now. I know you and I know that you'll love this guy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYwlF7IVvXo
    May 29 09:36 PM
  • tiesthatbind I'll probably agree with you to an extent provided your rating isn't that low, I just have a lot of sentimental value with the band so I'm inclined to enjoy most of what they put out as long as it isn't awful. The Way I Feel is my favorite song of theirs but I'm more inclined toward the rockier stuff after the s/t.
    May 23 09:18 PM
  • tiesthatbind I may or may not review it. I like the edge they got back on the harder tracks but the ballads I would agree are pretty nondescript so I'll see if that ends up dropping a half-point off my rating. Also boo on you giving Potter's Field the lowest score, that's my favorite of theirs.
    May 23 12:50 PM
  • tiesthatbind I haven't listened extensively but I've got their entire discography at a 3.5 so it'll likely stay there. It seems to be hit and miss but it's still got some great songs. I take it you're reviewing it?
    May 23 02:01 AM
  • AliW1993 No idea as to the details, but apparently there was a bout of consistent name-calling and Cahill threatened to settle it afterwards. Basically, what we'd refer to as 'handbags.'
    May 20 08:59 AM
  • Mojito wrote a crappy review man. would love some feedback and feel free to blow it away if you do end up being inspired by the album. again, cheers
    May 17 12:15 PM
  • Mojito glad you like it man. yeah i've got it rated, i've been working on a few words but definitely having some trouble finding meaningful words. ah well, at least i've got you listening dude, cheers for your time and being approachable and stuff haha.
    May 17 10:15 AM
  • Mojito hey man i'm a pretty new user and i've tried to review a new album by the medics but i'm pretty rubbish. you might have heard of them, i know you're aussie and they're from cairns. they've been getting a bit of attention from jjj of late. wondering if you'd at least give it a listen and -maybe- a review. totally cool if you don't but if nothing else, i think you'll dig them. based on your ratings anyways. cheers :) http://themusic.com.au/listen/all/2012/05/14/the-medics-foundations/
    May 16 09:36 AM
  • AmericnZero02 Hey brotha, I just noticed you 4'd all of the Conditions records too. Glad you liked them! I picked up Hands Like Houses new record the other day and am enjoying that thoroughly. Got anything for me?
    May 9 05:03 PM
  • SitarHero Hey, I want to do a review of the Storm Corrosion parody album, but I'm not sure what the rules on that sort of thing are around here. Can you clue me in?
    May 9 03:57 PM
  • Parallels Good choice ;) My favorite's always been Black Market Music because it's darker, but they're about equal anyway. Nice to hear people talk about the band still
    May 8 01:17 AM
  • Parallels just out of curiosity, what placebo album would you have put up on your most recent list?
    May 7 01:38 AM
  • YetAnotherBrick Oh, really? That is kinda weird. But she played it at the show I went to so :D haha
    May 6 09:36 PM
  • YetAnotherBrick Really, really good, man. It was a little short, but that didn't matter too much because the only song they didn't play that I REALLY would've liked was "Girl With One Eye."
    May 6 04:04 PM
  • AtavanHalen s*** yeah. dude, get the new kate miller-heidke, it's gaymazing. might ruin your life it's that good.
    May 5 12:33 PM
  • AtavanHalen little hell in my pants. boom boom. not long now, show is on the 14th. boner at the ready.
    May 5 12:05 PM
  • mutatedfreek Which one's that? You'll need to be more specific.
    May 3 08:31 PM
  • mutatedfreek You can ask all you like, it's not gonna happen. Maybe Lansbury or Frimpong on loan ;-)
    May 3 09:33 AM
  • LifeAsAChipmunk Davey, listen to this, it's The Graduate reincarnated, literally, except without Corey. It's more dreamy, but not nearly as catchy. http://thesunandthesea.bandcamp.com/
    May 1 05:14 PM
  • DreamAgain Davey do you think you could recommend me some good pop-punk bands in vein of the new All-American Rejects album and The Early November?
    April 30 03:10 PM
