    September 12 02:35 AM
  • zaruyache although I heard the rapidgator link on getmetal was faster than the one \/ linked
    September 9 10:27 AM
  • zaruyache that jerk noctus beat me to it ;_; Always check getmetal, though, man. They're pretty much the first place to check for everything.
    September 9 10:26 AM
  • zaruyache jammed the new Darkspace?
    September 8 08:58 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Ah. Fair enough. Still, you're definitely worthy of any of those titles.
    September 7 10:39 AM
  • ExplosiveOranges It's a shame that you haven't been promoted yet, although I can kinda understand why.
    September 5 10:08 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Ah. To each their own, man. I've been trying to expand beyond just metal in terms of reviewing, but it doesn't hurt to go back and write one every once in a while. Also: Holy s***, you have been here for a LONG time.
    September 4 09:12 PM
  • zaruyache You might dig. This was posted on Forever Cursed and sounds sorta cascadian-y. http://cepheide.bandcamp.com/album/de-silence-et-de-suie
    September 4 07:56 PM
  • ExplosiveOranges Thanks for the compliment on my Dark Fortress review, man. You don't dig them?
    September 4 07:21 PM
  • evilford good point...just didn't dig the style a whole lot. but it was alright.
    September 1 11:29 PM
  • Voivod Haha I feel like I owe it to you after the At The Grave troll post hahaha!! Check it out like whenever man :-)
    September 1 08:14 AM
  • Voivod Karl If you need an instant fix of Swedish death/Asphyx/Celtic Frost metal, check this - http://gatecreeper.bandcamp.com/. Nothing new under the sun, but it brings the groove on board.
    September 1 08:08 AM
  • evilford lol...I know PI is fairly well-liked in dm circles...I just didn't like the vox and thought the album was a bit run of the mill. just my opinion. :] ..also, I HATED dechristianize, thought it was s*** but let us pray was pretty great man, I thought. sorry!!!
    August 31 01:13 PM
  • emester Thanks for the recs man, I'll check em out soon
    August 29 09:59 PM
  • evilford sup wiz, ever check out that sororicide review? :P also I know how you like dm dude, have you heard excruciate? awesome old school swedeath band
    August 28 02:10 PM
  • Voivod Karl you just have to check this out (like whenever of course), old school death metal with analog sound production and unbelievable drumming - http://portal.xtreemmusic.com/streaming-en-exclusiva-del-album-completo-de-rude-soul-recall/
    August 28 01:16 PM
  • osmark86 ohoy! have you checked out Schammasch - Contradiction? I really don't see how it hasn't blown up amongst the metal crowd here on sput. fantastic album imo.
    August 28 08:42 AM
  • Voivod hahahaha when I was writing I hadn't the slightest clue that it will be seen as a "troll" post. Only when I saw it posted I made the connection with the At The Gates name hahaha.
    August 27 02:01 AM
  • Torontonian used to... not anymore unfortunately. In the States currently. Haha ya i can imagine london is a piece of s***. Anyway Cheers m8
    August 26 10:20 PM
  • Arcade Lol tbh it's now probably a 2.5, 5 in terms of winding up metalheads, 0 in terms of actually being music
    August 26 09:31 AM
  • Arcade made a troll review of Babymetal and instigated about 10 pages worth of s***posting comments. tbh i'm not the sort to complain about punishment where it's deserved so it doesn't bother me really, but yeah, that's the story! (y)
    August 25 10:06 PM
  • zaruyache I probably hate it but rec me some anyway for the lulz
    August 25 11:24 AM
  • evilford I know, I've dl'd so much stuff over the last few months I've completely lost track of what I have anymore
    August 25 10:19 AM
  • evilford lol...it's Disciples of Mockery
    August 24 09:33 PM
  • zaruyache Idk. Unru demo comes off as sort of disorganized to me. I like my hardcore dark and dirty but a little clearer. And I'm a sucker for anything that sounds like s/t Ash Borer so that split was like Christmas to me :3
    August 23 10:51 PM
  • evilford I know dude it's really grown on me the last few months, so ****ing awesome. did you see I rev'd sororicide/actually submitted a review!
    August 23 08:33 PM
  • zaruyache Pfff. Their stuff on the Paramnesia split kicks the crap out of it.
    August 22 09:58 PM
  • Voivod I listened to the new Pallbearer and I'm at 3.5 too, great album, the lead guitars reminded me of sounds from doom/death outfits I hadn't listened to since the '90s (On Thorns I Lay and their two late '90s albums)
    August 22 07:17 AM
  • Voivod Thanks for reading and liking my Essence Beyond review, give the EP a spin like whenever and tell me what you think :-)
    August 21 11:30 AM
  • BMDrummer thanks man, i do my best :]
    August 18 09:50 PM
  • greg84 Yes, it also sort of reminds me of Tool (vocals too). Awesome, very underrated/unheard album!
    August 17 10:33 AM
  • greg84 I remember I also bought that Downer LP very cheaply some time ago. Awesome stuff. I really dig the vocals on it.
    August 17 10:03 AM
  • zaruyache In the middle of the woods? Kvlt m/
    August 16 10:52 PM
  • BigPleb LOL. Palaces man, the riffs reign so supreme on that record! Sacrament does groove very hard though, will jam again tomorrow m/
    August 16 08:25 PM
  • BigPleb I'm excited too man! Loved SOtS and I'm hoping the new record will be a continuation of that sound m/
    August 16 07:48 PM
  • zaruyache I'm only like two songs in but I'm loving this so far omfg d-beat fun black metal http://dtbrex.bandcamp.com/album/ritualmordlegenden-cd
    August 12 09:44 PM
  • BigPleb Hahaha oh yeah for sure dude. Looking forward to new At the Gates?
    August 10 09:11 AM
  • Jacquibim hey man, when you have time, please check out my latest list, I put much time and effort into it http://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?listid=148341
    August 10 05:48 AM
  • BigPleb you're very moody today and trying my patience :/
    August 8 07:37 AM
  • EyesWideShut When Ulver changed directions did you not enjoy their music anymore?
    August 7 11:15 PM
  • Crysis it's probably like a 2.8 now that i'm listening more, but it's def better than heritage
    August 7 05:03 PM
  • BMDrummer props for the Jesus Lizard 5, been thinking about 5ing that one actually
    August 5 11:01 PM
  • TheSpaceMan hey man on the Fantastic Planet thread you mentioned an article that I'm dying to read, howd you happen to acquire it?
    August 5 04:08 PM
  • osmark86 I'm enjoying Voyager a lot more than Fireheart so far. that song was a bit cheesy and I didn't jive with it very mucho. seems inevitable I'll have to jam it a few times, but I've heard way more interesting bm before thus far.
    August 4 09:02 AM
  • osmark86 sounds delightful. til then I'm gonna enjoy the latest Nachtmystium.
    August 4 08:51 AM
  • osmark86 well of course you have ^^. I will give that a go when I'm in the mood for some brooding shiz. recs always appreciated mate.
    August 4 08:43 AM
  • osmark86 yo, I found something I'm pretty sure you would enjoy or at least be intrigued by (mayhapsly). Trepaneringsritualen - Perfection
    August 4 08:27 AM
  • Thanntos Nice man, thanks!! :) I just added you on RYM, too! Should check out some of my lists!
    August 3 04:55 PM
  • BMDrummer Yeah sure, I often bring that point up when people call something progressive that sounds dated as ****
    August 3 10:51 AM
  • zaruyache Doesn't suck so far... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B7nYWGoJr5E
    August 3 01:28 AM
  • BMDrummer (continued) biggest rigs, while keeping the genre stagnant. But anyways, Mikael has become an elitist who simply can't move forward unfortunately, it's a shame for such a once amazing band.
    August 2 06:45 PM
  • BMDrummer Never checked his side project with Steve, but yeah prog is completely contradictory at this point. If what he's playing is described as prog (progressive) rock, everyone who calls it that is missing the whole point of the genre's roots. Bands like King Crimson, Camel, and Yes were innovative due to the expansion of the genre, whether you like it or not I guess, but then things like ELP came along and just made the structures complex, sang songs about dragons and s*** like that, and used the big
    August 2 06:44 PM
  • BMDrummer Yeah pretty much, Mikael has basically become one of those idiots who says "there's no good music around anymore" at this point.
    August 2 11:20 AM
  • BMDrummer guess you don't enjoy the new Opeth, probably gonna bump my rating down too. Honestly there's nothing worse than rehashing old ideas with little progression
    August 1 10:42 PM
  • osmark86 hahaha yeah no kidding. I also noticed you dig Merzbow, so I suppose my questioning was redundant. I believe I belong to the less admiring bunch however ;)
    August 1 07:41 AM
  • osmark86 so I happened to see that you dug Wold - Postsocial, which brings me to my most humble inquiry: why?
    August 1 04:59 AM
  • Thanntos You're right, very much a mix of blackgaze and depressive, really been digging on this hard, such a good album!
    July 31 06:03 PM
  • Thanntos I meant classic/old school bm vocals, haha
    July 31 02:57 PM
  • Thanntos I don't rec albums much but I'm gonna go ahead and suggest you take a listen to the new album Ruiner by Griefloss. Blackgaze with classical bm vocals and some cleans. Gonna be an overlooked album
    July 30 03:57 PM
  • osmark86 I wasn't aware. either way I'm glad you enjoy it. I really couldn't ^^
    July 30 02:53 AM
  • osmark86 I'm not even entirely sure...
    July 29 08:25 AM
  • osmark86 mind you it isn't strictly bm at all. it even contains drillnbass gabba influences thrown in for good measure.
    July 29 08:04 AM
  • osmark86 speaking of aneurysms, I feel like I have to have you listen to Cloak of Altering - Plague Beasts. it is one of the most ****ed up "bm" albums I've ever stumbled upon. prepare to be aurally Dresdened. can't say I enjoyed it per se, but I was intrigued.
    July 28 08:43 AM
  • Jacquibim Pleb just had an aneurysm over you latest sound off
    July 28 07:47 AM
  • Crysis Sweet, will check out
    July 25 06:23 PM
  • BMDrummer Haha well to each their own
    July 23 10:32 AM
  • zaruyache You might dig: http://www.stereogum.com/1693642/nightbringer-et-nox-illuminatio-mea-in-deliciis-meis-stereogum-premiere/mp3s/
    July 22 08:30 PM
  • BMDrummer Why the 1 for Petitioning the Empty Sky?
    July 22 04:50 PM
  • sniper it's harder and harder to find good conversation here though
    July 21 10:32 PM
  • sniper agreed, i been around 6 years and always come around just to talk about the s*** i like and occasionally review stuff i feel strongly about. that conversation and consideration of music is the only thing that really matters to me, it's why i still come back here even though most of my old favorite threads are filled with dips***s now. and it's why i can't rate anything anymore, a number feels like too final a judgement for something like an album. i try to force myself to stay open that way.
    July 21 10:26 PM
  • sniper lol you might be. i'd like to think i'm open-minded enough to get over a precious judgement but i'm not sure. glad to hear you dig it though, i always think it's better to love music than feel ambivalent.
    July 21 09:26 PM
  • sniper see i totally agree with that, they definitely translate far better in person. the first time i ever heard them was live, i think it must have been early 2011 because they hadn't written the judah songs yet. i was completely floored. i think the way their records are mixed makes them sound a little bit sterile at times compared to the way they come across live.
    July 20 10:32 PM
  • zaruyache I took chocolate chip cookies from Tops and crunched them up and mixed them with my pancake batter so I could have chocolate chip cookie pancakes. They were decent, 3/5, about as good as new Alraune.
    July 20 07:22 PM
  • sniper hey man, i just noticed your rating for sunbather is at a 4.5 now, just wondering if this is an ironic move or a genuine one. i'm not trying to pick a fight with you about it, just curious. cheers!
    July 19 12:16 PM
  • zaruyache I suppose yes sort of yes. Best part of the album is still the artwork, though 8|
    July 12 04:42 PM
  • osmark86 it sounds odd and rather unique. it's like if King Crimson played bm.
    July 11 08:05 AM
  • osmark86 hello wiz! have you heard the latest Murmur record? must say that I dug it a lot, got that proggy vibe to it. check it out and tell me what you think (or don't, freedom and all that jazz).
    July 10 09:56 AM
  • PiedradeLuna Perfect. Then I'll be getting the most metal Canadian experience ever! haha
    July 10 12:17 AM
  • PiedradeLuna Will do buddy! Would be great to get the tour from the local metalhead haha ;)
    July 9 08:49 PM
  • PiedradeLuna Haha I'll take your word for it Wizard. I really want to make it up there at some point though, in general Canada seems like a really cool place
    July 7 08:08 PM
  • PiedradeLuna Ugh. London, Canada sounds like a harsh place to live man haha
    July 7 06:18 PM
  • PiedradeLuna Ah cool. Not too familiar with that city... is it a big city or on the smaller side? Yeah, Chile is rad if you ever get a chance, don't hesitate to come down here
    July 5 12:07 PM
  • PiedradeLuna Cool! Yeah, glad to hear you like it. I went to a retrospective exhibit of his in Santiago, Chile recently. That's where I discovered him. I'm from Los Angeles originally but am living in Chile at the moment. Ah cool, where about in Canada?
    July 4 11:44 PM
  • PiedradeLuna Sergio Larrain, he's a deceased Chilean photographer. I agree though, it's a haunting image. Lots of his work is in that same vein. Check him out:http://www.exposicionsergiolarrain.cl/
    July 4 08:26 PM
  • PiedradeLuna Thanks Wizard. I'll definitely check them out.
    July 4 11:26 AM
  • zaruyache U shud upload that alraune thing tho. I'm p sure the rip I have is some 128 kbps crap.
    June 28 11:53 PM
  • Ryuujin absolutely. it's a shame it isn't getting more attention here.
    June 28 04:30 PM
  • zaruyache I listened to some of The Austerity Program and wtf this is not good.
    June 27 11:20 PM
  • Crysis yes, i have the promo
    June 25 09:23 PM
  • zaruyache Http://mega.co.nz/ works fine for me. It's the new megaupload and it's pretty cool :]
    June 25 12:18 PM
  • zaruyache upload it and gimme then fool! o: Although I have difficulty telling the difference between bitrates anyway...
    June 25 09:10 AM
  • zaruyache I only listened to the stream you gave and their bandcamp page. It sounds not organic enough. Yeah, "organic" is the word I want to use. Too much "in studio" sound.
    June 24 11:19 PM
  • zaruyache Idk it sounds too... like they did it in a studio and it was mixed by someone who knew what they were doing but too all the chaos out of it. I want LOUD NOISES AND EVIL. Like like like Ash Borer's s/t or Fell Voices cacophony of evilness. Still good but not as gripping for me.
    June 24 12:55 PM
  • zaruyache new Alraune is like 3.3-3.4 :P I think if it would've been rawer/heavier it would've been better. Not gritty enough for me, but the riffs/songwriting are good
    June 24 10:50 AM
  • Jacquibim I see you dig the new Auroch, been looking forward to that album for a while
    June 24 09:01 AM
  • ShadowRemains i noticed the drummer seems to be struggling to keep up
    June 23 07:12 AM
  • ShadowRemains i see they are from vancouver, gotta support the locals
    June 23 07:09 AM
  • Voivod Hey man, I think this is right up your alley - http://bandcamp.fallenempirerecords.com/album/sk-phe
    June 23 03:48 AM
  • Hawks Hahaha sounds good. But yeah bro I've learned a lot about life since I joined. The real world has definitely set in ya know?
    June 22 06:19 PM
  • Hawks Congrats bro! Boy or girl? But yeah I agree. Joined the site when I was 15 and spent a lot of my time on the site. Just turned 22 and real life is setting in so it's hard to be on as much.
    June 21 08:15 PM
  • Relinquished yea man you really have great ears hahaa
    June 21 09:06 AM
  • Hawks Wiz you sexy beast! Everything is good though bud. New job coming so I'm feeling pretty good. Trying to come back around a little more. How's everything been with you?
    June 21 12:12 AM
  • Relinquished did you hear tweez or spiderland?
    June 20 10:26 PM
  • Relinquished albini only produced their debut but yea I understand what you're saying. the kids reviewing don't understand the concepts of past scenes/current scenes.. the experiences and precedents that give the sounds of the bands they review
    June 20 10:16 PM
  • Relinquished haha I dig their records but I don't slober on them like most people, but cool bro hope you enjoy it
    June 20 07:17 AM
  • AtomicWaste Thanks man! Just doing my best whenever something cool comes across my desk. :)
    June 18 08:45 AM
  • TheBarber Just Nightside Eclipse haha, Emperor's one of my best friend's fav band who's always been more knowledgable about extreme metal and that often makes me discover some
    June 17 05:32 AM
  • TheBarber All 5 of these it is, I'll tell what I think of'em once they'll have sunk in
    June 16 04:19 PM
  • TheBarber What would be the odd bands that peak your interests then dude? Yep I know about the french bm scene, tbh it's got almost all the bm I dig haha. Blut Aus Nord is seriously awesome but I must confess I've only jammed their latest, Cosmosophy; the only band I don't know there is Vlad Tepes (that I'll check it out now) so I wouldn't say no to a few more recs if you've got some
    June 16 09:05 AM
  • TheBarber Never been to Canada but seing all the amazing bands constantly emerging from Montreal and Toronto I'd really like to go there
    June 15 06:31 PM
  • TheBarber Actually I wouldn't mind some good ****ed up music and even some bm even though it's a genre I'm still having a very hard time to get into (something about most of the genre's attitude often rings false to me idk), maybe if you have some ****ed up bm to rec me it could help haha
    June 15 06:29 PM
  • TheBarber As for music taste it's always been kinda thanks to this site and by some of my fav users/reviewers as well as friends since here in France music promotion/advertising is pretty dull
    June 15 08:26 AM
  • TheBarber Same, am a massive Cinema fan (especially the weirder, ****ed-up ones) probably even more than music so It's good to see some moviegoers on this site that know more than our dear Tarantino haha
    June 15 08:24 AM
  • Relinquished lol nah I'm saying I think I got scarred by drawings cuz of how effective they were with the song, which is horrific and disorienting like spirals in itself!
    June 12 09:09 AM
  • Relinquished I took a day off work to do the PURE II repeat challenge, and found a relatively short horror manga to read along with it. the story revolved around spirals and needless to say I'm uneasy around snails ever since.
    June 11 09:21 PM
  • Relinquished haha I fvckin loved it bro! it's one of my favourite records too, back when streetcleaner and selfless were all I had of them.
    June 11 09:18 PM
  • R6Rider *Fist bump* It really hooked me in lately! At first some of the droney sections kinda turned me off but that's changed. Have you seen the new vid? It's pretty f**ked up lol http://www.cvltnation.com/nsfw-new-primitive-man-video-antietam-now-showing/
    June 8 12:27 AM
  • zaruyache DID YOU FIND A LINK YET? Try this one http://uploaded.net/file/4qzc5qda
    June 7 10:51 PM
  • zaruyache On my phone and won't b on a proper computer for a while to check, but getmetal seems to have it.
    June 7 12:27 PM
  • zaruyache The hell is a skull reader skulls don't read man. Dead men tell no tales doncha no. Check "get metal" :3
    June 7 12:20 PM
  • osmark86 nice mate! yeah it's absolutely amazing. been binging that album like a park bench all-starer does the booze. got any similar stuff up yer sleeves? please indulge me.
    June 5 06:26 PM
  • thumbcrusher Cheers for the civil discussion too man. I may take advantage of that offer soon!
    June 5 03:06 PM
  • osmark86 did you ever check out Wormlust - The Feral Wisdom from last year? if not, do so. it's some seriously intense/psychedelic bm. http://wrmlst.bandcamp.com/
    June 5 04:48 AM
  • zaruyache Or just like, Profound Lore.
    June 4 03:10 PM
  • Jacquibim Thanks, gotta say that out of power electronics and noise I'm definitely digging the former more. Both have their charms though. I'll check out the new wold soon
    June 3 11:31 PM
  • zaruyache I was underwhelmed tbh. His black metal sound just doesn't do it for me anymore. Two listens in. I'll keep listening until I can give another opinion but :/ :/ :/
    June 3 10:27 PM
  • BMDrummer Well, let's see who gets it first then I guess. I have like 10 reviews both written and planned, and if you get that Godflesh first, I'll go for Us and Them.
    June 3 09:54 PM
  • BMDrummer Yeah, just so much to comprehend. Haven't heard the new Godfleah yet though, but I'm going to review that and Pure soon.
    June 3 09:45 PM
  • BMDrummer 2112 ratings
    June 3 05:03 PM
  • zaruyache how do you like it? Sorry I think moonlight gate made their stuff invite-only or something after getting taken down so much.
    June 3 12:48 PM
  • Crysis Soulseek
    June 3 12:39 PM
  • Crysis new panopticon is the best bm record this year
    June 2 09:41 PM
  • Crysis new diocletian slays for days get on it
    June 2 08:25 PM
  • BigPleb Hahahaha I just got Wizhammered!!! Just enjoy his music, don't take him seriously :]
    May 30 04:06 AM
  • osmark86 hahaha I know, I'm just bantering thanks mate. tbh that Killer Be Killed album is average at best but fun enough to solo along to on the axe ; ). we can't always be elite in our tastes can we? any new tips you got for me anyhow? I need to get in the zone seeing as I'm going to this lovely event tomorrow to get s***-phased with me mates: http://sthlmfields.se/
    May 29 03:56 PM
  • osmark86 I'm an up-and-comer ey? well that's flattering ^^. I just might, check out my latest list. there's some bm in there that I've enjoyed profusely. cheers.
    May 28 08:13 AM
  • zaruyache ~zaruyache
    May 26 08:59 PM
  • zaruyache RYM says you're already on my friends list but you don't show up on my page :/
    May 26 02:48 PM
  • zaruyache I've seen your gigantic list before but I don't remember your RYM :/
    May 25 01:37 PM
  • Jacquibim Don't worry I jest, and I completely understand. There's a lot of albums I adore for reasons that pretty much impossible to explain. Oh and I've been sifting through some powerrrreeelektriques and I'm finding a handful of albums I'm enjoying.
    May 23 07:29 AM
  • Jacquibim As amazing as the new agalloch? :DDD
    May 23 07:20 AM
  • Jacquibim Heh rightio I will, I've just been eager to listen to the new swans given the reception it's getting. I've been going back over their discog for the last few weeks and predictably that's consuming a fair bit of time lol
    May 23 07:17 AM
  • DarkNoctus definitely will! :]
    May 23 07:15 AM
  • DarkNoctus must admit all i've heard is streetcleaner and pure but god damn they're really great records [: been some of my go-to albums of the past year or two!
    May 23 03:19 AM
  • BigPleb **** Cavalera ugh
    May 22 09:04 AM
  • BigPleb Your wit is unparallelled ;]
    May 22 08:12 AM
  • BigPleb I just dig the trade offs between Greg and Troy man! Its p catchy too and couldn't get most of the riffs outta my head for days. Cavalera is the weak link tho, can't stand his songwriting choices nowadays.
    May 22 03:59 AM
  • ShadowRemains dual vocals, kind of a symphonies of sickness carcass-esque approach with one really low guttural sewage and the other a high rasp

    May 21 08:18 PM
  • Relinquished haha yea that's what I meant, typos happens when backtracking sentences. I hope they'll tour to your area, I'll try to spread to word to them.
    May 21 08:12 PM
  • Relinquished yea dude good fvcking times. it's gonna be swans all over again with the LP dropping in the fall too. and remember when they reformed and shoved it in your face that I was gonna see them perform Streetcleaner live
    May 21 07:59 PM
  • Relinquished reminds me so much of Merciless, Selfless, Greymachine, Jesu s/t, and Hymns vocals combined
    May 21 07:44 PM
  • Relinquished new godflesh track is out and slaughtering hard and you still haven't reviewed pure
    May 21 05:07 PM
  • zaruyache This is my current fav bm album of the year. https://thegreatoldones.bandcamp.com/album/tekeli-li-2
    May 21 10:35 AM
  • zaruyache *O* I think it definitely needs some exposure. Did you ever check out the new Great Old Ones?
    May 20 09:39 PM
  • Gyromania new agalloch is criminally underrated eh. glad to see some people are appreciating it though
    May 20 12:39 PM
  • Dryden n breakin buttholes
    May 18 04:35 PM
  • Amebix Wizard, you might want to check this out, it blew me away on first listen. It is from Alex (Ex Fall of Efrafa)https://anopheli.bandcamp.com/album/a-hunger-rarely-sated
    May 17 09:48 AM
  • Crysis haha it's literally the most boring high-profile metal release of the last several years
    May 17 09:17 AM
  • Jacquibim Hey man, when you have time, would you mind checking out my Ulcerate review again? I've added and re-written a lot of stuff to further explain my interpretation of it and would like to know what some people think.
    May 17 07:11 AM
  • Dryden yeah these new users are pathetic they need a wake up call. here to rape em all
    May 16 10:53 PM
  • zaruyache I'm glad you like it :-) I like the new Great Old Ones better, though. So if you haven't checked that one out already...
    May 16 10:51 PM
  • someguest Kvarforth is a sensationalist just like comedians, actors, reporters, and anyone craving attention. If the music after it wasn't of the highest quality no one would even give a damn about that gutsy introduction.
    May 16 09:58 PM
  • someguest Do you really think people are pretending?
    May 16 09:40 PM
  • Bergtatt Sure. Ifing could definitely do with better PR/marketing, there's kvlt then there's also unnoticed... but there's a stream on Decibel here: http://www.decibelmagazine.com/featured/streaming-ifings-against-this-weald/and here's Sun Worship - the whole album is solid atmospheric BM, but the title track in particular is killer http://sunworship.bandcamp.com/
    May 16 01:15 PM
  • FearThyEvil I reckon I'll soon be saying the same thing after a few more listens. New Thou was like that for me earlier on. Didn't enjoy too much on the first couple of go's but now I personally think it's one of the best releases this year.
    May 15 11:56 PM
  • zaruyache you like wold so do you also like Sutekh Hexen? Their new ep is black noisy drone stuff.
    May 15 08:53 PM
  • Amebix Yeh, you might be right Wizard, I need to stop being that furious when it comes to my fav bands :)
    May 15 05:48 PM
  • Bergtatt Thanks, that's really good of you. I kind of deserved it though on the Lord Mantis thread, and new Agalloch is super-divisive.If you're into atmospheric/naturey BM, maybe check the new Ifing (like old Agalloch, except a little less riff-driven and more of a Nordic folk vibe), and Sun Worship too (the title track especially, very Two Hunters but with a real old-school Blaze In The Northern Sky kind of feel).
    May 15 05:40 PM
  • FearThyEvil Did you enjoy new Lord Mantis that much on first listen? My first listen I wasn't too impressed. However, it's a first listen obviously and I need more.
    May 15 05:11 PM
  • BigPleb Damn, loving that new Swans record man?
    May 15 02:51 PM
  • Atari glad to hear you're digging the new agalloch man!
    May 15 11:48 AM
  • someguest to be kind a 4.5 hell yeah even Wizard's spazzin' over it!
    May 15 12:34 AM
  • zaruyache I don't get what's appealing about Wold but I'm still mysteriously interested in hearing their new one.
    May 14 08:54 PM
  • Atari Sweet man, thanks for the rec too
    May 13 11:49 AM
  • Dryden got a new computer been almost a year since i got a good one. been on downloading spree for a long time. i was never part of talesovvdryden, kount just used my name. anything interesting here latley
    May 12 10:07 PM
  • Voivod I was surfing a Greek forum about the Dead Congregation concert in Thessaloniki yesterday, and one of the mods suggested that this band needs to be checked out - http://nuclearwarnowproductions.bandcamp.com/album/grave-ekstasis. I think you will like it.
    May 12 01:52 PM
  • Atari Hey man, you mind sending me that link to your black metal list again? I know it was in my shoutbox somewhere but i don't see it haha
    May 12 01:41 PM
  • Willie I need a link. Send it to my last.fm
    May 10 07:51 PM
  • MisterTornado nah not much, although i listen to a good share of noise albums.
    May 10 04:09 PM
  • Dryden I might, dunno how long until i get bored of it, whats up?
    May 10 05:08 AM
  • MisterTornado i'm hardly apart of any consensus here (especially in the metal world). i really like the album, love the grainy walls of noise with faint black metal obstructions happening in the background. only thing i'd gripe about is his vocals, which seem a little overdone in the whole WICKED BLACK METAL sense but it's a fantastic album nontheless. i think most people just hear "noise" when they listen to wold when it's alot more than that.
    May 9 10:32 PM
  • Greyvy thanks, im currently in the process of cataloging my ratings for death metal albums, appreciate the kind words, cheers
    May 9 10:00 PM
  • Willie Haven't heard it. Did it leak.
    May 9 05:05 PM
  • Jacquibim Hey dude, have you heard the new Wold album yet?
    May 9 02:54 AM
  • ShadowRemains haven't listened
    May 8 06:55 PM
  • fromtheinside listened to the other night groggy and it didn't sound too bad. a few nifty riffs here and there. and from the looks of the reactions to the new aggy i'm probably going to enjoy it more than that so... :/ haha
    May 8 06:49 PM
  • ShadowRemains http://dsstr.com/dead-congregation-promulgation-of-the-fall-2014/
    May 8 03:41 PM
  • climactic well to my ears it was hardly bm at all, definitely more in the realm of post-rockish screamo/hardcore with some bm-esque sections. i'd give it another listen though, the use of a real orchestra adds a really unique element to their sound
    May 8 02:49 PM
  • menawati thanks mate, hope you find some decent italian prog on there
    May 8 11:43 AM
  • fromtheinside ah and now there's new infestus. pretty good
    May 8 04:00 AM
  • climactic hey man, curious what you disliked so much about that so hideous album/ep from last year, i usually agree with you on a lot of stuff but i like it a lot
    May 8 12:41 AM
  • BigPleb The Wizhammer is never done!!!!!
    May 7 08:05 AM
  • Crysis it's the only song that really sounds like something agalloch would write
    May 6 09:39 PM
  • Crysis yeah dude i just stopped posting in there because my jimmies were being rustled
    May 6 04:11 PM
  • Crysis Yeah just listening to those few tracks had me a bit confused. We'll see how the whole thing is now that I'm home from work.
    May 5 03:58 PM
  • LilLioness Good call. Besides, I can't really imagine juggling work, writing and trying to listen to any given album enough to write a good review on a weekly basis. Gotta have priorities and dealing with the ...geniuses around her on a daily basis doesn't even rank.
