| Dedes New Panopticon is extremely good although I'll admit my expectations were impossibly high being their last 2 albums are among my top 10 ever. I do think however that Austin is as ambitious as ever which I really respect.

 | Sowing Usually you need to have a solid body of work under your belt (frame of reference is typically 25-30 reviews, but it's fluid), display above average writing abilities, and be a first class citizen who doesn't stir up trouble. Also make your interest known come application time (usually around Jan-March of each year). It also never hurts to overtly express interest to any staffers that you converse with, as ultimately they're the ones who vote on who gets the nod.

 | Atari cheers man. the best advice I can give you is to just keep on writing, as obvious as it may sound. and ask for feedback in your reviews and be willing to listen even when people are critical about your reviews. I can give you more specific pointers if you want too, but with only 4 reviews under your belt I think you just gotta keep at it and you'll naturally improve. one last tip: just read your reviews out loud to yourself or in your head and it can help you pinpoint parts that don't flow well
