  • iloveyouall sorry, my bad. got sidetracked by the girl.
    September 22 07:48 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Yeah I keep joking he and Frank Ocean will end up making the exact same album in four years time
    September 22 03:22 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Nice Songs: Ohia rating. I guess I shouldn't get too excited about the new Bon Iver then, this year has really delivered and I was hoping that would be another classic/near-classic
    September 22 03:10 AM
  • TheSpaceMan Oh yea if I came off as saying leftist views are bad i didnt mean to. I was just pointing out how there is a dominant ideology on sput, and that it happens to be liberal. I have no problem with people having any viewpoint as long as you can hold an intellegent conversation or arguement about it and not be a dick about it
    September 21 06:41 AM
  • TheSpaceMan damn wise points there, the community isnt built on political beliefs so it eliminates biased encouragement from your peers. though a lot of sput is liberal from what Ive noticed, it isnt as bad as it could be with the way people react to differing opinions
    September 21 06:22 AM
  • TheSpaceMan dude I just want to thank you for that insight you posted on that political list. Its honestly how a large number of Americans including myself feel, and its very hard to voice something like that as an American right now because you are dismissed as being part of the problem almost immediately. its really interesting to hear what someone over seas thinks in seeing what we're going thu

  • iloveyouall ty/smae
    September 13 03:34 AM
  • DoofusWainwright I like the work of the David Lynch album collaborator on it and there are some real highlights I think...but I might bump it down, I've only really started listening to it a lot this week and it is quite samey. The Nick Cave is dominating my listening right now and that's maybe a tough comparison for The Veils album
    September 12 08:23 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Listening to the Frank Ocean again - definitely overhyped in so far as it's definitely not top 10 of the year and no way a 4.5-5
    September 11 10:42 AM
  • DoofusWainwright The last song on the Okkervil is nearly as good as those first two
    September 11 06:00 AM
  • DoofusWainwright It's probably the worst time the Frank Ocean album could have come out sandwiched between the Veils, Nick Cave, Cass McCombs and Bon Iver albums. The Okkervil River actually reminds me more of Yellow House era Grizzly Bear than Fleet Foxes, something in the melodies, particularly 'Renee'
    September 10 12:45 PM
  • DoofusWainwright What did you make of the Frank Ocean in the end? - given it two listens and I'll say one thing, it is one of the more unique releases this year. I'll give it more time because it feels like there's something there under the surface, but initially I'm marking it down as 'frustrating'.
    September 10 08:02 AM
  • DoofusWainwright I liked it so much after one listen I actually left the house early so I could pick up a copy before work. Also bought the Okkervil based on the strength of the first two songs, it's a solid album too, much prefer their new direction.
    September 10 07:52 AM
  • Sinternet so i checked it out and it was pretty good, i really liked part 2. I take it that new Okkervil record is worth checking btw?
    September 8 04:41 PM
  • guitarded_chuck cool brother no prob
    September 6 11:07 AM
  • DoofusWainwright I'll definitely check it out, it's one I might have skipped too as I didn't bother with their last album. still haven't listened to the Frank Ocean either, not on Spotify so I'll need to find a stream for it
    September 6 09:55 AM
  • DoofusWainwright I'm very hot and cold with that band - how do you rate it against their other recent albums?
    September 4 04:44 PM
  • SowingSeason Oh I will. Is there a stream?
    September 2 11:11 AM
  • robin thank you radical edward
    September 1 07:27 PM
  • DoofusWainwright Also you have a perfect Thank You Scientist rating there
    August 24 01:44 PM
  • DoofusWainwright I'm on my hols in Lanzarote so haven't checked it yet, what do you think? I've been reading a lot out here, found a copy of Submission in the airport and was really impressed, love Houellebecq's sense of humour. Definitely a book you keep thinking about long after. Just finished Man in the High Castle today, my first Philip K Dick, intriguing stuff too.
    August 24 01:42 PM
  • DoofusWainwright Well the big ones I guess are Frank Ocean and Run the Jewels. You also have Chromatics, maybe Grandaddy, maybe Modest Mouse again, Wild Beasts...there are a few interesting ones in prospect.
    July 8 12:32 PM
  • DoofusWainwright What albums are you most looking forward to second half 2016?
    July 8 11:18 AM
  • guitarded_chuck you tell me

  • lyzakthellama smae
    June 29 03:07 AM
  • DoofusWainwright There's no going back now. I voted remain but I can live with us being out of the EU
    June 25 05:26 AM
  • DoofusWainwright My only problem with this is the vocals don't add much for me. Heather almost has a little bit of a Mogwai 'Young Team's mellow jams vibe in places
    May 28 05:27 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Nice I've just reached those two songs now
    May 28 05:25 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Listening now, it's a bit 'Morrissey fronting a 90's indie rock band'. Sometimes the singing meshes quite well and other times it floats over the music a bit for me. I'll give it a few goes, what are your favourite songs?
    May 28 05:05 AM
  • DoofusWainwright I haven't managed yet, I'll give it a spin sometime this weekend
    May 28 04:42 AM
  • user "Joined 05-24-1930" lol
    May 24 12:01 PM
  • klap lol can't get into it
    May 24 11:57 AM
  • DoofusWainwright It's one of the unintentional funniest - Roger Moore is about 60 fighting a tiger in the jungle before storming a mansion of all-female guards wearing these not very authentic Turkish belly dancer type outfits. Appealed to me as a 14 year old boy
    May 24 04:48 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Dope name #bestBond
    May 24 04:44 AM
  • DoofusWainwright You know first impressions aren't to be trusted - I'll have made some **** ups, that's part of the amusement of that comp
    May 24 04:40 AM
  • DoofusWainwright I've heard of them, another John Peel fave I think, will check them cheers
    May 24 04:39 AM
  • klap 4/5 at least
    May 21 06:53 PM
  • klap yeah i have. the last one was one of my favorites this year. i may review it next week if i have time
    May 21 12:14 PM
  • wtferrothorn posted the car seat headrest review if you want to go check it out
    May 21 11:46 AM

    May 20 08:56 PM
  • iloveyouall because she's good, duuuuuuh
    May 20 11:13 AM
  • wtferrothorn Probably today or tomorrow. Today is the last day of school, so I've got quite a bit on my plate trying to wrap things up with that. But don't worry, I've already started it. Spoiler: the album is good
    May 20 07:16 AM
  • DoofusWainwright that has to be good, I get the feeling the album will stay a 4 so will definitely return to it, it's nearly pay day so nice timing could even pick up a copy
    May 20 05:24 AM
  • DoofusWainwright the rec sound really good, I mean I think you were probably pretty confident I'd like this one, got half way through but have given it a holding 4 to make sure I don't forget to check it again later
    May 20 05:13 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Not sure why the new Destroyer song 'My Mystery' missed the cut for the latest album, it's better than a fair few songs from 'Poison Season'
    May 18 06:20 AM
  • iloveyouall non-seqitur
    May 16 03:17 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Track 4 is quality too...may have judged too early. Loving that main riff and those strings coming in too...
    May 12 03:40 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Ha, I probably don't have the curiosity for that but it sounded good, is it one of your favourites of the year? The Joe Bonamassa I'll probably like the slower tracks like 'Drive' - straight blues rock is more my old man's taste, I'll probably rec him this, he'd love it
    May 12 03:36 AM
  • DoofusWainwright First impression of Ichiko is it sounds pretty, can't imagine anyone being too offended by it, where can you listen to the full album?
    May 12 03:27 AM
  • DoofusWainwright ok, I'll check that one out instead
    May 12 03:17 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Sell it to me
    May 12 03:16 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Cemetery Breeding is fast becoming my favourite song of the year. Robert Smith must me well jel
    April 20 06:18 AM
  • zakalwe I love it dude. Total quality soundscapes and what have you.
    April 18 03:15 PM
  • DoofusWainwright Ha, 'You Can Dream' I quite like but I can see your point, female singer's vocals are a bit odd in the mix at times. The Chain song just seems a bit repetitive on my initial listens - I wouldn't say either are fall off your chair awful. Solid album. Pleased you say you like the closer because other than the opener that was my favourite song at first. Not surprised you dig this album, I can hear a bit of that Big Blood clean folky vocals/hallucinogenic mystical thing here too - just gone rock
    April 18 02:35 PM
  • DoofusWainwright The opener is huge. Only given the album a first couple of spins but their first two albums had a fair bit of fodder on there too. Did you enjoy the Floyd-ish closer or was that one you thought overstretched them?
    April 18 01:58 PM
  • DoofusWainwright The new Black Mountain surprised me, much tighter album than their earlier ones
    April 18 01:50 PM
  • Ryus word it really is, one of my favorites of the year so far
    April 10 08:13 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Thanks, it's been a great two weeks out here and I managed to really surprise her, she loved it - I'll hit sput with a vengeance next week. What you digging at the moment?

  • JohnnyOnTheSpot https://rone-music.bandcamp.com/album/vood-oo-ep, http://lobstertheremin.com/album/azadi-ep - i might review these, maybe, possibly
    March 31 11:34 AM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot stuff i reviewed, lol : ] aside from puce mary i guess. there's a bunch of decent tech/house popping up lately too
    March 31 11:33 AM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot it's dece, i just don't see myself returning save one or two tracks tbh.
    March 31 11:29 AM
  • wwyd well, i wouldn't mind copping a two-week ban for it, but to ban me and then ignore my requests (well, polite asking) to be unbanned is a bit rich in my books.... but as I said, oh well. and as for denzel curry, no I haven't. I've been meaning to check it out, but I'm so far behind on music this year (uni's keeping me busier than I thought it would), so I'll add it to my rapidly growing list of "stuff to listen to."
    March 30 05:04 PM
  • wwyd it's more of a 1.3 tbh, but since Snox is a s******* I rounded down. :)
    March 30 04:58 PM
  • wwyd i didn't. jom banned/wiped me because i 1d snox's album. he won't unban me either, which is a real bitch because i wanted to make sach my primary reviewing account... oh well.
    March 30 03:24 AM
  • wwyd :)
    March 27 08:27 AM
  • wwyd BOO!
    March 27 04:20 AM
  • Jacquibim Honestly a lot of the site's problems with user conduct could be solved if they just penalised ban evasion. 90% of problem users are on some kind of alt.
    March 25 05:40 AM
  • Jacquibim I can comments and feature lists but only a few of us actually have ban hammerz. If I was a mod I would make Sowing "nazi mod" Season look like Gandhi which is why I'll never have the position heh
    March 25 05:32 AM
  • Jacquibim lol I don't have ban powerz but I would love to see the thread nuked tbh. But yeah no one is going to convince anyone of anything. You're an intelligent guy so don't drag yourself down to their level, nahmsayin?
    March 25 05:28 AM
  • Jacquibim Dude don't get involved in the Islam vs. The World bulls*** on that Bernie Sanders thread, it's really not worth it.
    March 25 04:58 AM
  • JamieTwort Yeah The Sea Swells a Bit is a personal favourite of mine. Nice, will check.
    March 8 03:01 PM
  • wtferrothorn That seems like the general consensus according to the comment on my review, but I personally feel that the rawer tracks are what make the album so oddball and really separates it from its contemporaries. An with Ebony and Ivy, the spoken word part really threw me off guard the first time I heard it, but it really grabs my attention every time I hear it.
    March 7 10:39 AM
  • wtferrothorn No problem man, had a good time reviewing it. You enjoying the record?
    March 7 06:16 AM
  • zakalwe You're probabaly right but I can live with that if we win the league. Come on you spurs!!!!!!
    March 2 08:25 AM
  • LordePots no worries bruh, i meant to have it out like the second week of january but i just got swept up real quick!
    March 2 02:26 AM
  • LordePots sorry man. been meaning to. its been a busy new year. spontaneously decided to move to vancouver, get a new job, broke up with my gf, started dating a new woman, i havent had a lot of sput or music time
    March 1 04:47 PM
  • Archelirion Long Season is absolutely stunning dude, thanks for letting me know about it. It's strangely hypnotic, but in a really good way.
    February 14 12:14 PM
  • DoofusWainwright Thanks for the support Ed, you were possibly the very first to call for me to be a contrib and I don't forget that sort of thing ;) Anything impressed you from 2016 that I should give a spin or begging for a review?
    February 13 10:18 AM
  • Archelirion Doing pretty well thanks, nowt bad anyway! How're you? Yeah, that Big Blood album I'm still taking in to be honest, really interesting album! Surprised it didn't get more love on here. I will check that; your recs are normally pretty reliable so I'm sure I'll like it :]
    February 12 04:37 AM
  • JamieTwort Hey man, yeah all good thanks, you? Yeah that Quilt album's been on my radar, is it out yet or has it leaked?
    January 31 05:40 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Ed I'm thinking of applying for contrib this month, the application form is a little off putting though!
    January 27 08:49 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Well I'd love to say we've all been listening to some non-sad stuff but zak stumbled on this album made by this dude called Gavin Clark who died last year - an old one from '98 called Sunhouse 'crazy on the weekend', a few of us have been really getting into that. Sort of folk rock and acoustic with some incredible vocals. As you said, then Bowie died and things took a turn for the sadder round here. Looking forward to new Tindersticks and Shearwater later in the month, though yet more sad-core
    January 14 09:14 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Have you just returned to the site? What you been digging recently?
    January 14 08:48 AM
  • LordePots yeah it turned out very good altho the first song threw me off cuz there is some seriously basic post rock bulls*** in there. would have liked it a bit more without moments like that but its jaga so i guess i cant really expect them to do without that
    January 14 12:39 AM
  • Archelirion Tbh, I'd have done the same thing. I just (until now) haven't really been interested in listening to stuff I'm gonna 95% likely hate. You're a trooper.
    December 29 06:10 AM
  • Archelirion Dude, I'm kinda impressed you sat through enough Fetty Wap to give it a rating! We're obviously missing something that the rest of the world is 'getting' :/
    December 28 05:15 PM
  • SachikoM yeah, i've added a bit for you to get to.
    December 9 10:35 PM

    December 7 09:42 PM
  • SachikoM here's part 1/?, tear it apart, do what you will: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1sbZnQkCtKFNToQn_5XN5-_z18w8j0a1_oV1rE0Nn-Go/edit?usp=sharing
    December 7 12:19 AM
  • SachikoM just a heads-up, my stupid 10-page dissertation is about halfway there... i hope it makes for good reading. :)
    December 6 11:33 PM
  • LordePots aight
    December 6 07:12 PM
  • Archelirion Agreed about this year being great for albums - there's been a few people kicking about that have said it's been crap, but I dunno if that's just for a certain style or what cos there's been loads of good stuff about :]
    December 5 12:11 PM
  • Archelirion Haha, I'll make sure to ;] I'm not gonna do my EOY list until January I don't think, so I've got a bit of time! Got any ideas of what'll be on yours yet?
    December 5 11:43 AM
  • Archelirion Oh maaaaaan, I have been enjoying that thing so much this past few days. One of the most fun albums I've listened to in a good while :] I've still gotta check George Clanson, the download is in my e-mails somewhere...
    December 5 10:54 AM
  • Archelirion Yeah man, I finally checked it and it's really good stuff :] Just great for chilling in the evening or whenever. Thanks for letting me know about it!
    December 5 06:33 AM
  • Hep Kat REAL net divers spell retard with a D ;)
    November 29 08:16 AM
  • DoofusWainwright They're on metacritic and they got the main feature review in Uncut magazine last month, not sure why I didn't follow up on that and check them out but glad I did now. It's not earth shattering but I haven't heard too many retro 80's indie albums this year and it's definitely a good one.
    November 27 03:06 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Enjoying The Chills album...and it is a lot like R.E.M!
    November 27 02:51 AM
  • DoofusWainwright I've not used RYM but I had a look around the other day and I really disliked the current design. I can easily imagine someone developing something way better than this site though
    November 26 11:25 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Got to admit a little wary of that that description but I'll give them a shot, I like R.E.M so I must have some indie-jangle in me
    November 26 11:07 AM
  • VheissuCrisis Cheers, that's still one more resource than I had before. There's a picture on German articles which I can't seem to link to you which accurately sums up its difficulty. I'll persist, danke.
    November 26 04:36 AM
  • VheissuCrisis Am I right in thinking you're German, Ed? If so, do you know what the best resources are for learning it, except Duolingo.
    November 25 01:57 PM
    November 24 01:26 PM
  • DoofusWainwright Clutch are a weird case where I love the band, really like a lot of their songs, but don't think they've ever done themselves justice across a whole album. Really want to catch them live some time
    November 17 03:02 PM
  • EvoHavok Some other time for sure! :D
    November 17 02:50 PM
  • EvoHavok Thanks for invite, but I wouldn't be able to stay much at all cuz I need to go to sleep earlier today :(...
    November 17 02:45 PM
  • Sinternet i'll be on shortly
    November 17 02:44 PM
  • DoofusWainwright I think I gave it a try before and passed over it as not my thing but I'll give it a proper go. Surprised to see Clutch in your top 10, must have grown on you a fair bit.
    November 17 12:34 PM
  • DoofusWainwright Yeah finally a Potsy rec I really really dig. I liked the Little Simz, Big Blood, Clarence Clarity, Black Wing and a few others but not to the extent of this. I might even bump that score to a 4.5 if it keeps growing on me.
    November 17 12:26 PM
  • DoofusWainwright I just get the feeling 2015 is very nearly done, don't seem to be any big releases on the horizon (feel free to correct me on this), and I don't want to put up two lists at the same time with a bit of overlap
    November 16 11:15 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Yeah that's a fair rating for the product. 'Bleed' and 'Warmspot' are standing out for me on the Clanton. Was thinking of putting up a 'Top Songs of 2015' list today to give a good gap for the Best Albums one but then you hear a really interesting album like this one...
    November 16 11:05 AM
  • DoofusWainwright I didn't rate what I heard, it's a joke and pretty invasive. Listening to the Potsy George Clanton rec, have you heard it? Pretty sure you'll at least enjoy some of it, esp as you like the Gunship
    November 16 10:39 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Did you listen to all the Montage of Heck album? Couldn't bring myself to
    November 16 10:17 AM
  • SachikoM Well, fair enough, I guess. Still find it kinda baffling. Have you listened to Hailee Steinfeld's single (Love Myself)?
    November 14 06:09 AM
  • SachikoM What? You can't deny he is technically skilled voice-wise. You have to at least grant him that.
    November 14 05:37 AM
  • SachikoM Wow, really? Weird. What do you find so repulsive about them?
    November 14 05:22 AM
  • SachikoM You didn't like anything off the new one? It has some SOTY contenders imo.
    November 14 03:55 AM
  • SachikoM So you really hate JB, huh?
    November 14 03:38 AM
  • Artuma can't rn. around 4 perhaps
    November 8 07:38 AM
  • SachikoM good excuse... that's probably a good idea tho, vegan's queuing all of his videos atm.
    November 7 05:48 PM
  • SachikoM did my s***ty trap scare you off??? ;_;
    November 7 05:37 PM
  • CalculatingInfinity Dubtrack?
    November 7 08:45 AM
  • DoofusWainwright The new FJM is so good live, he clearly had a performance style in mind for each song. The stuff off the debut album bar Hollywood and Novel were totally flat in comparison. He still had to play most of the first album because he hasn't got a lot of songs to choose from it you could tell he's moved on from them.
    November 4 05:06 AM
  • DoofusWainwright I'm lucky in that my girl has grown to love the same music, the last week I've seen Father John Misty and Destroyer (she worships kaputt) with her, next up are Deerhunter on Saturday. But she prefers it when the music thing is an inclusive obsession and I have to remember to be disciplined and respect that which isn't always easy lol
    November 4 04:05 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Ed I'm guessing even if you don't dig Young Gods whole sound on 'Only Heaven' seeing as you dig a bit of prog and retro electro you'll like little bits and pieces. Still want to check out dubtrack one evening, it's just living with someone else makes it tough to put on a pair of headphones.
    November 4 03:51 AM
  • SachikoM Alright, sorry for the slow response, I was in the shower.
    November 4 03:11 AM
  • Sinternet Yeah dude checket it was great. Eternity is one hell of a track - I should probably look for more PWYW stuff, never really explored bandcamp much.
    October 30 08:49 PM
  • Artuma gotta love those harmonies. the singer doesn't really convince me but otherwise i dug the song
    October 30 10:37 AM
  • CalculatingInfinity It's not whether I'll be fine, it's that you and Sach bring some cool stuff to the room and I'll be sad if you go due to the bombardment of metal.
    October 29 01:30 PM
  • Mort. ah fair enough tbh. i do try to play the less heavy stuff when im in their but my playlist is still in its infancy
    October 29 10:37 AM
  • Mort. "It's just that guys Hovse and Mort etc. are starting to use the room a lot. Usually it's only methul in the room now. SachM and I are not that interested to discuss why Ulver is the greatest band on planet earth" - bruh i dont even like much metal and im barely in the room
    October 29 10:09 AM
  • CalculatingInfinity Just saw the chat with Sach, what's happened to Dub while I've been busy?
    October 29 09:07 AM
  • SachikoM Maddening. I don't want to go in there to hear ****ing opeth and s***ty death metal. Hell, my taste is pretty alienable, but I at least try to accommodate those who don't like noise and whatnot (I do jam other stuff), but the metalheads.... Ugh. RIP dub, 2015-2015.
    October 29 05:56 AM
  • SachikoM did anybody tell the metalheads about dub, or did they just find their own way there?
    October 29 04:05 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Nice rating for the new Neon Indian Ed and yeah I remember Crazy Town
    October 27 11:44 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Haven't listened to it yet Ed, had a feeling it wouldn't gel into one satisfying album. It was never going to be half as good as a National album. There must be at least 3 or 4 decent tunes on there though?
    October 24 05:14 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Ed just missed your message last night, I'll drop in at that sort of time another night and check it out
    October 9 04:13 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Been spinning Jakob 'Solace' for the first time while doing the list, doesn't fall into the post-rock trap of lacking energy, like it a lot
    October 8 12:28 PM
  • SachikoM K, it's all kinda perplexing.
    October 7 06:44 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Cheers Ed, just set up a dubtrack account, is their a permanent Sput channel?
    October 7 04:17 AM
  • TwigTW Thanks Ed, I do something like that already--just not on Sputnik, lol. It's on RYM. Check it out if your interested:https://rateyourmusic.com/list/TwigTW/2015__my_favorites__so_far/

  • DoofusWainwright Monomania grew on me a lot and I've got it 4'd so I'm feeling this will live up to that esp if snakeskin is the weakest tune on it. Watching them live changed everything for me with this band and is why I'm close to fanboy levels with them. Live they are guitar overload and trippy, some of the stuff they played from Halcyon they played with near metal intensity, just brilliant stuff. One of the best new guitar bands out there and definitely one of the best live bands I've seen
    October 6 06:50 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Haven't listened to it yet apart from the one song which sounded promising, is it streaming somewhere? Have you ever seen Deerhunter live?
    October 6 06:24 AM
  • SachikoM Black thread it is then. I know what you're saying with the Sachiko and WCPC reviews (although, as far as feedback goes, very few people had issue with either of them, rather than issue with the music they were associated with), so a change of pace is probably a good idea. I still want to raise awareness for that kind of music, so I may review them later, but a break in between will be good. Thanks for the help. Now to see if I can conjure the words to write a half-decent review.
    October 4 05:58 AM
  • SachikoM Thanks, i appreciate it.
    October 4 05:38 AM
  • SachikoM Let's face it, I'm not the best user. I'm fussing over a bunch of albums that I want to review, but I can't really pick one because I'm worried I won't do it justice. If you could make the decision for me, it would be much appreciated. I'm running around in circles at this point. The albums in question are: plague mother - obsessions, black thread - meadowlark (premonition), bedhead - WhatFunLifeWas, and Eliane Radigue - trilogie de la mort. Thanks in advance, I guess.
    October 4 05:35 AM
  • SachikoM Aside from being a terrible user, I have horrendous writer's block atm. I need something to snap me out of it.
    October 4 05:30 AM
  • SachikoM Can you help me out?
    October 4 05:20 AM
  • DoofusWainwright Enjoying the Big Blood, I find the vocals a little intense across an entire album but every other element is near perfect
    October 1 05:51 AM
  • Cygnatti lol nahhhhhh
    September 29 01:09 PM
  • SachikoM Not everything I listen to is noise/onkyo/unlistenable-trash.
    September 28 04:47 AM
  • SachikoM No actually. I'll def check it out, thanks for the rec. In return, I'll rec you Tomoyoshi Date - Otoha. It is really mellow minimalist piano with a bit of Japanese folk influence and the odd field recording here or there. Really nice stuff. You can sample one of the songs here (and don't worry, this is actually listenable): https://ownrecords.bandcamp.com/album/otoha
    September 28 04:26 AM
  • Marinatchae I'm not joking. Stop following me around in threads to be a dismissive ****. K?
    September 23 04:09 PM
  • Marinatchae You and I are about to have a problem.
    September 23 04:06 PM

    August 22 03:19 PM
  • JamieTwort Ah right, good luck with those. The one good thing about studying is being able to listen to music almost constantly. Working full time it's hard to find the time to listen to as much music as I'd like sometimes.
    July 25 03:59 AM
  • JamieTwort Hey man, good thanks, how're things with you? Never heard of him but I'll be sure to check out his new one, thanks.
    July 25 03:41 AM
  • LambsBread Whether or not that is a rational belief, the reality is it is much harder to pass a program like this in the US than in Germany, because people here feel they are being taxed to much AND its impossible to get democrats and republicans to agree on what to cut. I imagine the political situation in germany is not as hostile, but im not sure. I don't know a ton about Germany, so I could be wrong about all this, but this is my opinion as of now.
    July 9 02:57 PM
  • LambsBread I think thats where we agree. I'm not against taxpayer funded higher education. But I think it makes more sense for the states to do it. The biggest reason is there is definitely an unwillingness to have a welfare state and/or taxpayer higher education in the US, by a huge portion of the population.
    July 9 02:54 PM
  • There's more to the practicality of having a welfare state and taxpayer-funded higher-education than the needy people:wealthy people ratio though. The US having 300 million people to account for, across such a ridiculous amount of territory (that includes Alaska and Hawaii), makes the logistics and information gathering of a welfare programs more costly and less effective.
    July 8 09:11 PM
  • LambsBread that's surprising, but I still imagine the number of people at retirement age or older is substantially greater in the US, because of it being 4x bigger in population, and because of the baby boom phenomenon, which I don't think had the same affect on Germany, who had many more casualties in WW2.
    July 8 03:51 PM
  • LivingThrowaway If you want to get wrecked:- mo*te (peaceful new world) - pedestrian deposit (fatale)- machismo (severe disconnect), again this one is power electronics, albeit a lot harsher than ramleh.
    July 5 08:41 AM
  • LivingThrowaway If you want easy entry to noise:- vomir and tanner garza (give up the ghost)- Kevin Drumm (sheer hellish miasma or relief)- ramleh (hole in the heart) although it's not noise, but more related to power electronics and death industrial
    July 5 08:39 AM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot I rec this Dudal album tbh, you'd def like a bit
    June 30 08:54 AM
  • JohnnyOnTheSpot realllly don't like their sound on he new one. i'll give it another go this week and maybe change my mind but i found it hard to enjoy
    June 30 07:57 AM
  • Keyblade ah sweet, no prob man. been trying to get people to hear it for years now with little luck. the tournament is a good platform. glad you enjoyed it
    June 22 09:16 AM
  • Artuma do whatever you want
    June 14 10:27 AM
  • Artuma mostly kid a, yhf and la dispute. sunbather gets so much flak i don't even mind about that, never even heard living as ghosts
    June 14 10:14 AM
  • Artuma dude you have a decent taste in indie but looking at your 2's makes me pretty sad
    June 14 09:46 AM
  • DoofusWainwright The production on Elephant Riders will probably be a big turn off but worth checking out for the songwriting. The first half of Pure Rock Fury is immense, I'm not sure if that's one of their last 5!
    June 12 05:03 AM
  • DoofusWainwright I'll check it out Ed, I've listened to a bit of TA before, I don't listen to too much punk but I definitely prefer retro influences with that genre to the usual punk pop stuff ;)Have you listened to all the Clutch discog?
    June 12 04:50 AM
  • ComeToDaddy I actually did listen to the Battisti once, I simply don't rate things unless I've digested it and that's a totally new style for me. I enjoyed it, but it was also very foreign to my ears, and I'm in the middle of exams now so I don't want to jam too much music that'll confuse me ;) and yeah, that new TA is great. The run from Fired Up to A More Perfect is absolutely killer
    June 11 07:41 PM
  • adr Radiohead Kid A 2.0 smh boy
    June 11 11:44 AM
  • Artuma no wonder haha, it's so amazing

    June 11 05:41 AM
  • Cygnatti could be a very honest 3.5 but i'm having some reservations...
    May 9 12:44 PM
  • Cygnatti how very very intriguing. i'll look into it.
    May 8 11:52 PM

  • Frippertronics okay here's a fixed link http://goo.gl/7VHFbQ
    May 6 02:30 AM
  • Frippertronics her whole discog can be found through this. I'd suggest using rbt as an alternative to any downloads, as the archives which has many links. http://rbt.asia/mu/?task=search
    May 6 01:58 AM
  • Ryus haha yes agreed hard. shocked at all the positive ratings here (but not that shocked since everyone is obsessed with porcupine tree)
    April 13 04:01 PM
  • JamieTwort Agreed with your first statement but not with the second. I was a bit disappointed at first cos it didn't hit me like his singer/songwriter based stuff but repeated listens are starting to prove it's true beauty. Glad you liked Polyhedrons though.
    April 13 11:52 AM
  • JamieTwort I'll check it right now.
    April 2 02:56 PM
