Holy god do I love this album, every song, no matter how many times I hear it, I love it. Leave Home. God damn, it's a poppier album then Ramones, but it's also better. I mean there are certain points during the self titled album where it could get boring (especially during the ending parts of the album). The punkers are better ("Pinhead" is literally the best punk song I have ever heard of, from the cool-as-hell verses to the shouted "D-U-M-B Everyone's accusing me!") There are no Ramones songs that are on here that are as well known as, say, "Blitzkrieg Bop", but there are songs that I think are more memorable. The melodies for "Oh Oh I Love Her So" and "Carbona Not Glue" are so good, catchy and memorable that they will be stuck in your head till the end of time.
Oh there is a cover here that makes me happy all the time. "California Sun" is a surf-rock song, which is weird that hey covered it, cause they were from New York, not California, but I'll be damned if they don't make the song better. It just works for them. I don't know what else to say. This album, with it's 15 songs speeds by so fast that it takes a couple listens to really dig the album. But I can honestly say that it's the best album that they ever made. From the opening "Glad To See You Go" to the beautiful ballad "I Remember You" to the extremely poppy and memorable "Oh Oh I Love Her So" and "Carbona Not Glue" to the ***ing amazing, anthemic "Pinhead" to the closing anthem "Commando" this album is perfect in every way.
I love the Ramones. I don't know if they started punk rock or not, and it's not an argument that I am interested in anymore. All I know is that they did it better then the rest of the first wave punk bands. They stripped down everything that was going in with Rock n' Roll at the time and made the lyrics more accessible, the chord changes simpler, and the melodies that harken back to 60's pop. I really do love The Sex Pistols, The Clash, and The Damned, but, the Ramones were the best, I can not stress that enough. I have said it before, and I will say it a million ***ing times. The Ramones are the best band to have ever graced the world.
EXCEPT FR LINKIN PARK!!!!! THEIR MI FAVRITE BAND IN TEH HOLE WIRLD!!!!! I'M ATEENAGE GURL WHO DON'T PAY ATENTION IN GRAMMER SKOOL CUZ' THATS NOT TEH KOOL WAY TO DO IT LINKIN PARK FOREVAH!!!!
Oh god, Linkin Park is the worst band ever. Remind me that if I start a universe that in my bible Rap-Rock is a sin that is punishable by a lightning strike followed by ***-rape.
