Summary: I love this band, They can do no wrong. And this album is one of my favourite post-hardcore albums.

''Make Yourself Sick'' is the debut album of Burlington, Ontario-based Boys Night Out released in 2003. This album defined their sound as a unique blend of pop punk, emo and hardcore

''I GOT PUNCHED IN THE NOSE FOR STICKING MY FACE IN OTHER PEOPLE'S BUSINESS''-4.5
This is an killer song to kick off the album. It starts out right away as a fast-paced, playful pop-punk song with some heavy screaming jumping in. Theres a break with some clapping and feedback as connor sings ''drag my corpse to the cities. I never got to visit...'' and the song slows down for some screaming and a slow melodic breakdown with a flange effect on the guitar, which leads right into a chaotic outro of back-and-forth screaming.

''(JUST ONCE) LET'S DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT''-3.5
this is another good song, but doesn't really stand out on this record. starts out with singing and screaming parts and leads into a catchy chorus. Theres a small breakdown that leads once again into the chorus and ends the song nicely.

''THE FIRST TIME IT SHOULDN'T TASTE LIKE BLOOD''-5
This is a standout track on the album. Starts out with a cool guitar riff and leads into a fast verse. the chorus is great, with screaming and singing back-and-forth. I always found the lyrics in this song really cool. At about 1:56 the song slows down alot where Connor sings with some affect on his voice, and speeds up again with some synth keyboard, and the song ends there.

''IT'S DYLAN, YOU KNOW THE DRILL''-4.5
This song starts out with a slow melodic bassy riff, leading into the verse and a catchy chorus over some cool guitar riffs. theres a fast punk-sounding part and it all slows down after another chorus for some screaming from Connor. The outro is very emotional with some pretty gruesome lyrics.Another standout track.

''HOLD ON TIGHTLY, LET GO LIGHTLY''-4.5
This is the softest song off the album. The singing is mostly melodic with very emotional lyrics along with melodic guitar riffs over synthesizers and a simple beat. There's some screaming that sounds kinda out of place, but overall, it's another great song.

''THE SUBTITLES THAT MAKE MASS MURDERERS OUT OF OTHERWISE DECENT HUMAN BEINGS''-3
This is a very happy-go-lucky sounding song with some more fast punk drumbeats in the verses, and some gang vocals shouting ''COME ON. LET'S GO''. As soon as the song gets a bit repetative, it leads into a slower-paced breakdown after some woah-ohs, and the song ends with some back-and-forth screaming. It's a decent song but is one of the weaker ones on this album.

''THE FINE ART OF MAKING IT OUT ALIVE''-4
After a little riff, the song starts out right away with some fast drumming and even what sounds like a blast beat in the chorus. This is one of many Boys Night Out songs about drugs and alcahol. Theres a heavy screaming part and then connor singing ''maybe we can get past these addictions...''. After another chorus with some gang vocals, the song slows down into a breakdown and a slow, melodic part for the rest of the song.

''I WAS THE DEVIL ONE AFTERNOON''-5
This song is one of my favourites off the album. It kicks in with some heavy screaming over palm-muted guitars, then unexpectedly swiches to an upbeat pop-punk verse and chorus. This song is slower and more emotional than most others, yet is still quite playful and energetic, with a good amount of screaming. The outro of this song is great, with singers switching back and forth with some gang vocals.

''THE ANATOMY OF THE JOURNEY''-4.5
This song origionally appeared on ''You Are My Canvas EP'', most likely explaining why it is the heaviest and darkest song on the record. It starts out with some chaotic back-and-forth screaming, then broken by some wierd keyboard thing leading into a catchy, yet dark singing part. Theres a melodic breakdown with connor screaming instead of the usual melodic singing. The end of this song is very dark and epic, with some choir vocals, a scream from connor and organs softly playing to the fade.

''YEAH, NO... I KNOW...''-3.5
This is another slow song to end a great album. It starts out with some melodic, haunting guitar riffs, and connor singing ''someone call an ambulance 'cause somethings not right...'', a lyric later to be heared on the following album ''Trainwreck''. The beginning of this song is quite emotional with some heavy screaming over Connor's soft singing. At 2:56, the song picks up to a faster, catchy part, leading to a more emotional with back-and-forth singing and screaming until a breakdown where connor sings ''...maybe i'm not the man you're looking FOR'', leading very nicely into the slow, dark part once again, repeating until the ending. I find the ending a bit repetative and usually skip this song after the fast part.
