Summary: Hannah Montana's music is exactly what Miley Cyrus is: a teenage cutie. Which means nothing on its own.

4 of 4 thought this review was well written

What to do when you are going to review a material that has no way to appreciate it, when it doesn't try or cares about being appreciated; not musically, not creatively nor even technically. A mere product, would be the best way to describe it. So what's to review then? So I decided to ignore all of the above and just listen to it and rate it according to how my brain reacted to it.

In short, Hannah Montana's music is exactly what Miley Cyrus is: a teenage cutie. Which means nothing on its own.

The Best of Both Worlds, the anthem for this pop sensation, regardless of how much Auto-Tune is used (and that applies to the whole record) is just a great song to sing along, that is, for twelve-year old girls. Although, on the music side, the whole album seems to be stuck in the 90's, when The Spice Girls and M2M ruled the world, think of Hannah Montana as if Natalie Imbruglia suddenly decided to make an album inspired on the Powerpuff Girls. So it's target audience is more than defined, a good thing according to any kind of producer.

However, there were some tunes that actually made me react, and that was because they were good or at least appealed to me. Pumpin' up the Party is somewhat inspiring and Miley's voice works great with the song, in a way, is fun as a roller-coaster, pretty much like Roller Coaster of Love by The Red Hot Chili Peppers. Just Like You and This is the Life are just so sweet that almost makes me feel like a twelve-year old corny girl, which is weird considering that I'm a bitter 21 year old male, who's just as sweet as House M.D. These three songs were the ones that made bearable the minimum of five listens that I give to any album before I even consider reviewing it.

So in an objective and unbiased way, I rather listen to this than NIN's Pretty Hate Machine; Hannah Montana's music is coherent and consistent from beginning to end, while Pretty Hate Machine is a pain to listen to because of Trent Reznor's lack of imagination for vocal lines. But at the end I rather pay attention to Trent Reznor and buy Pretty Hate Machine, because Hannah Montana, even if coherent and consistent, on its own, means nothing if there is no soul or intention to the music, and with the gratuitous addition of some nobodies to the album: The Click Five, Jesse something and other ridiculous paraphernalia, Miley's alter-ego debut album will be in the trash can or even already recycled by the time she decides to make music for older people and she enters rehab for the first time.

...on the other hand if you buy/download this, you get to listen to the one and only Billy Ray Cyrus on the last track, but no, don't get excited, he doesn't sing Achy Breaky Heart.

I don't know what to be more shocked by. The fact you actually listened to this or that you managed to incorporate Trent Reznor into the review.

haha

but yeah, I'm not sure where that NIN reference made sense, nor am I sure that the way you use the semi-colon in the summary/sentence in the review is correct. Pretty good review otherwise.

I think Nick's avatar is from Jesus Camp, except with a dinosaur over some preaching guy's head, which makes it pretty lol.

Hey...there have been a few albums inspired by the PPG. One of them actually had artists like Devo and The Apples In Stereo on it - a much better listen than this, to say the least. Her singing voice grates on my eardrums.

Of course, this was a good review.

Some of your sentences lack coherence and structure. I suggest you re-word the first sentence.
