Well this is my first review, I don't know much about there history so I'm not going to pretend I know them that well. I actually accidently purchased their album when I was buying ascendancy by trivium but I don't regret it now because I thought it was a amazing album when I listened to it.

Intro
This is a instrumental to start off the album. I find quite a few bands do this, although not in the same style, like slipknot used to have samples to start off and some bands have a short instrumental in front of the song like enemy within by arch enemy. The song is good in a way that it sort of fades out onto the next song so when played loud her voise resides can scare you a bit. 3/5

Her voice resides
This was what I was talking about, it starts off with Matt screaming into the mic. This song was also used to start off there concert I went to so I guess this is when the album really starts. This song gives you a taste of how bullet write there songs as they involve alot of heavy riffs, followed by some very catchy lyrics in the chorus as well as good guitar solos. 3/5

4 Words(to choke upon)
The was the first single of the album and liked the intro as it is nothing fancy but fairly good to listen to but then I love how matt can change from screaming to singing on a lot of there songs as know that it works, kind of reminds me of some rescent stone sour stuff. Their chourus always seem to have some very catchy lyrics although it does sometimes sound a bit emo, but that said alot of metal those have depressing lyrics. This is a great song though 4.5/5

Tears dont fall
This song is another favorite of mine, it also happen to be there latest single, also this song is the secong longest after the end. one thing that those make this song stand out though is the extention towards the end as most of the there songs are around 4 minutes long, but this is extended and just adds to the quality of the song. Also has a great solo which then leadds back to the chorus 4.5/5

Suffocating Under The Words Of Sorrow (What Can I Do)
This was the second single off the album, this song has some fairly great guitar work and collaborations with the drumming. The lyrics on this song are imo a bit emo with the suffocating and stuff but is still a great song with a catchy chorus. Also I havn't said much about it yet but I do have to give some credit to the drummer, he seems to show alot of skill through out alot of the songs, I find that he can be fast when he needs to be which is important. 4.5/5

Hit the floor
Welll this song is good, but its not as great as some of the somgs on this album, I have to say though the lyrics are not the best either but because this is bullet the formular of great riffs and singing do make this a good song by metal standards. 3.5/5

All These Things I Hate(Revolve Around Me)
This is third single off the album. This is my favorite song because if you have heard the hand of blood album firt it is similar to curses with the acoustic intro. It also shows how great matt is at singing and also a great example of how the screaming and singing formular works. This song is one of there best singles along with maybe Hand of Blood. 5/5

Room 409
I think alot of people do get the idea that the album starts to decline from here which I can't blame them because alot of great songs were in the begining so people say that the rest of the album are just filler tracks. but I disagree as I recon the poison and crys in vain are 2 of the best songs on the album. but back to this song, yeah well I must say since this is there first album variation is one of the hold backs but they will need more experience at writing songs first. Its not that this is a bad song but it starts to feel a bit average. Sill it is worth a 3.5/5

The Poison
This as you can see is the title track of the album. I think it is one of the best songs on the album as the chorus is another catchy sing along, but I do find the lyrics are a bit emo as they are quite depressing. The guitar is not bad, although this song has no real stand out features I find that the I like the riff towards the end as it reminds me of slighly machine headish feel. 4/5

10 Years
I feel this song is another one of the average songs but it has a cool bit near the end though, although they say where did you go a lot and it sounds a bit emo. but still 3.5/5

Cries in vain
This song was on the hand of blood album as well so it was made a bit earlier but it was a good song in my opinion. The drumming is tight along with the singing and guitar so I though this song was guite good, I thought it had a good biuld up in the middle even though the lyrics are a bit emo I think this song was worth putting on the album. 4/5

Spit you out
I feel this was a bit of a filler track although the intro was nothing special but was different. It felt a bit similar to the dead eyes see no future by arch enemy but it didn't have the very consistent fast double bass patern to make it a fast song. well I think it is worth a 3.5/5

The End
I thought this song did drag at first, but I think it is was a excellent way to end the album as it was slow and had a few good build ups. This song those have some great singing, as good as curses and all these things I hate. 4.5/5

well I think I will put some pros and cons about the album
The Pros
*Matt is a great singer and metal vocalist and guitarist
*It had alot of great songs
*It had some drumming

The Cons
*The songs can sound a bit similar near the end
*The lyrics are emoish
*It didn't have much varietion

Well I think bullet have made a good start and can make a better album as they need to experiment with more ways of making their songs a bit different, not like in a metallica way but a gradial evolution.

hope you like my review

Good review for a first. Keep 'em coming. THE SHIFT KEY IS YOUR FRIEND... USE IT. Other than that and a few grammar errors it was good.

Personally i found this really good at first but it got boring quickly.

Eh, I would've liked your review if you weren't an idiot.
Honestly, everyone needs to stop using "emo" to describe everything..
