Ok first things first! This is my first review, so be gentle.

Good Mourning is Alkaline Trio's 5th studio release, and from their other records I own(Crimson Maybe I'll Catch Fire) it's my favorite.

1. This Could Be Love.
The first track off the record starts out with a sweet little guitar riff and then the bass and drums follow. The verses have clasic Matt Skiba palm muting and lyrics about death. The chorus breaks in telling someone the steps in order to kill him. The bridge slows way down with Matt singing"This could be love" with Dan yelling back "Love for fire". After that comes another chorus and then Matt screaming "ONE BY ONE!" in the outro

2. We've Had Enough.
This is the albums first single and for a good reason! The song explodes in with an awesome guitar and bass riff and good drum rolls and then busts right into the verse. The words in the verse don't make much sense, but the music makes up for it! The chorus sings about there being nothing on the radio. Dan does a good job screaming "NO!" after each chorus and the bridge. Once more the Trio ends this one with a wild outro. Matt rips out this sweet guitar solo/riff and Dan backs up the lead vocals by screaming "WE'VE HAD ENOUGH!" My band covered this song at a show in March and the crowd realy got into it.

3. 100 Stories.
Dan takes the wheel for this song about being lonly and Hell. Not one of the best songs on the record, but still worth the listen. The best part of the song imo is at the end when Matt screams "SO DREAM A GOOD ONE TONIGHT!"

4. Continental.
Matt is back for this one. Continentl starts with good guitar work and then palm muting again in the werse. This song is about a friend who took too many chances and then.....died. (You had 9 lives and one by one ya chewed 'em up.).
At the end of the song Matt screams out the chorus, which, I think, is realy cool.
Matt does a fine job with this one.

5. All On Black.
I realy haven't the slitest idea what this song is about! It is well sung, and the lyrics are well written. Yet again the outro is realy the best part of the song. Matt is realy into playing cool riffs at the end of songs I think.

6. Emma.
Dan sings this song which may be my favorite song.....ever! Dan sings about a girl that comes back to him and then in the middle of the night packs up and leaves without warning. Matt does an amazing job backing up Dan in the chorus, which is the one of the strongest points of the song.

7. Fatally Yours.
Deffinately one of the fastest songs on the record! In this song Matt sings about a girl that comes back to him and then.......kills him! The chorus is very cool and well sung. The outro (im begining to sence a patern here!) is fast and awsome with a good guitar riff.

8. Every Thug Needs A Lady.
I saw Alkaline live in April and Dan played this song acustic. Let me tell...thats the way it should be done on the record!! Dans voice is beautifull for this song! The intro is realy good on this one instead of the outro for a change.

9. Blue Carolina.
Dan takes this one again. The aspect that stands out the most on this song is the drums. There isn't much else to say about this one.

10. Donner Party (All Night)
The other fastes song on record. This is a very good song with great lyrics and music to back it up. The song about freezing to death is one of the more underated songs by this band.

11. If We Never Go Inside.
The last song for Dan on the record. I'm not sure what it's about and usualy I skip it. But give it a chance, you my find something that I didn't.

12. Blue In The Face.
The grand finale of the record is Matt solo and acustic. This song is a beautifly sad song that will make you as depresed as he was when writing the song. This was an outstnding way to end an outstanding record

cheers and happy listening!

I've seen worse first reviews, but descriptions like these say absolutely nothing about the album, artist, or even the song. More detail if you insist on doing a track by track.

Make sure you write more about the bands overall sound and things like that. Saying things like the drums are awesome in this track don't really say a whole lot. Also add a conclusion paragraph that sums up the album. But yeah keep trying, this is not the worst first effort I have seen.
