Review Summary: Hopsin may have his issues as an artist, but this first album his defiantly a solid release, especially for a debut.

(If any commenter from my other review notices that someone mentioned Hopsin and than I did a review, they mentioned him and I decided to review my favorite of his albums.)

Hopsin is divisive in the rap community. We all have run into, either in reality or the internet, a Hop fan boy. He's either hailed as a rap prodigy, or a ***ty indie rapper who shouldn't have a following. So I gotta say, while I like him, he isn't the best rapper alive, he isn't even the best rapper in the underground, the guy has undeniable skill, but he has severe short comings you can't just write off because you want his dick. This is his strongest LP, and it isn't a masterpiece. (I will try an avoid mocking his chorus's, that is just a low blow man.)

I'm Here 3.5/5
Ignore the abysmal chorus, and you got a good song here, and a great opener. It has some of the humor that he kinda get's rid of later on in the album, but it's a lighthearted track. His raps are good as usual, and it's nice to hear proof he wasn't always the rap version of a tin foil hat wearers after school PSA.
Who Do You Think I Am 3/5
Remember when Hopsin didn't make a song about seemingly the same chick every album, some times multiple? Oh wait, never was a time like that. It's a solid track, and this was before I got sick of hearing him talk about the same thing all the time. Bad chorus, but that's to be expected.
Sexy Cyber 2/5
I don't like this track. It has a good beat, and ironically one of the better chorus's of the album, but god you can feel the straight edge in his voice. He doesn't tell great stories, I'm sorry, it's not that he is *** at story telling, rather he tells boring stories, and here is a good example of this. It is cringy, I'm sorry but it's painful to listen to, and it had a lot going for it, but it falls short.
Pans In The Kitchen. 4/5
This is the strongest single off the album, and a high for the disk. It has a good chorus, not simply passable, but honestly a decent chorus. It has traditional Hop flow. It is technically impressive, and an enjoyable listen.
Story Of Mine 2/5
I can't stand this song. I really can't. This track makes me think this guy is a whine ass, because I lived worse than this guy, most of the people I know lived ***tier lives, and they wouldn't say they wanted to kill themselves over this kind of thing. I get that it's probably worse than he makes it sound, but man, I always feel like yelling at me computer,"Grow a pair.". *** chorus, and ok instrumental over generic Hop raps. Call me a dick if you want, but listen to his lyrics, and you'll see what I mean man, even if he has something to complain about he still makes it sound like he's a whineass, and all I can go on is the track.
The Bublies 2/5
What the hell is this track man. He first claims he's a legend in the making, lays a weird chorus over a bad beat and an unimpressive performance. There is nothing more to say, it's just a filler track.
Chris Dolmeth 4/5
When you refer someone to Hop, this is one of those tracks you should send them. It may does something rare for him, he actually seems to be understanding to a guy who does drugs, which is one of his big crusades. It is well rapped, and his flow deviates, a nice change of pace. The beat is honestly great, and I like the chorus, I know others don't but this in my opinion a strong chorus, and even more a strong track.
The B Bop 3/5
I thought the intro was kinda funny. Another subpar beat, but as a Hop fan, you get used to this. He once again changes his inflection and flow, it's a good track, filler yes, but at least as far as filler goes it can keep me listening to it.
Slurpin 3/5
More filler, it has a nice beat and fine chorus. He goes back to his usual flow, and some of the lines are funny. For this it get's some leeway.
Super Duper Fly2/5
Another passable beat. I find the ***ty chorus does make it a much worse song, because the average hop chorus is ***, but this is a special sort of cringe.
Mother***er 2.5/5
I like this song, it sucks in a lot of ways, but I enjoy. It's filler, yes, and that,"Because you're a mother***er." is obnoxious.
Don't trust em. 2/5
***ty filler with boring chorus, it sounds like garbage, I dislike this whining about women thing, and it makes a bad song.
Gazing At The Moonlight 4/5
A solid finish to this, it's one of those preachy songs you can actually enjoy. The beat is good, and I ironically like this weird chorus. He changes his flow a little, and it aids the song a great deal. I will admit,"Moma told me never to talk to strangers." line is ***, but just ignore it. It's self righteous yes, but it's listenable.

Overall, this album has serious flaws, it's awful if you cut out just a handful of the tracks, but those handful of tracks overshadow the boring and poorly done filler. It is best to just listen to a few tracks and forget the rest. It is a good album, but he should have trimmed the fat.

It all started here for Hopsin, but his evolution is very prevalent....

Sandwich, cease what? And depends on which new Hopsin one, I thought Happy ending was funny, as far the purge I feel like this new style he has been embracing doesn't really suit him very well, but his skill is still there, and the track is OK.

I enjoy the informal tone of this review a lot, but there are a lot of small grammatical issues, as well as errors in the formatting itself, that need to be avoided. Very excited to see you write more and improve your writing, though, so I'll try to drop some more in-detail critique a little later on. (:

You should try to structure what you have to say about each track into paragraphs, or at least use some cleaner formatting with what you have here.

Yeah, so the main thing with regard to format is to use paragraphs. You don't have to put together a formal piece of writing - the conversational tone used is one the review's greatest strengths - but paragraphs nevertheless make it a lot easier to develop an argument, and also makes it easier on the reader. It doesn't have to be a complex structure. Even if you were to split the review up into an intro, a paragraph about the album's strengths, a paragraph about the album's weaknesses and then conclusion, it'd read a lot neater. It's possible to be a lot more concise, too, as a result of lumping ideas together. For example, you mention that the album has a decent amount of filler, something like this could've worked well:

While much of Gazing at the Moonlight amounts to little more than filler, there are nevertheless some fun detours to be found here and there. Indeed, ‘The Bubblies’ is unimpressive and confusing despite its claim to be making a legend of Hopsin, and ‘Don’t Trust ‘Em’’s is an unflattering blend of whining and some of the rapper’s worst choruses. But songs like ‘The B Bop’ pull through with their humour. Its beat is subpar, and its structure middling, but it’s no less attention-grabbing as Hopsin chooses to switch up both his flow and inflection.

Obviously, something more attuned to your style of writing, and a lot better than that, but it's an example of how you might choose to lump ideas together. Be sure to proofread, too, there are a lot of little mistakes, like the use of "defiantly" in the summary, which is a common though no less incorrect misspelling of "definitely". (Of course, you might've just meant "defiantly," which is cool, too.) Keep it up, though, man, I definitely enjoyed this for what it's worth and everyone starts off somewhere. Excited to see you improve.
