Review Summary: A small unknown indie/alt rock band with lots of potential. They have a new album coming out so let's review their last one. A great sound, hopefully you will give them a listen.

Hello all,

I want to write today about some alternative rock. Every once in a while i like to break from my classic rock and venture to see what the new rock bands are up to. There are some bands I love what they are doing like Cage The Elephant others i just wished they'd disappear cough, Imagine Dragons, cough. However there is one small indie rock band outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Three Legged Fox has a new album coming out in early 2017 and i thought it only right if i talked about their last one so we can be prepared for Ultraviolet (leaked new album name).

Although I'm really unsure what to expect the band has always been more a of reggae rock roots band for their first albums. The only time you would ever find them would be on Dirty Heads or Rebelution or Sublime Pandora radio stations. Their latest album We Are Electric was a shift, a shift away from reggae roots rock and honestly I loved it. I started listening to them when i was into reggae roots rock being a kid smoking bongs. However when i started to rediscover my love for the classics and rock music with a good drive Three Legged Fox changed with me. We Are Electric proved to be their most rocked out album yet, a great album to crank your stereo up to 11 and get weird. A couple of the songs on the album are softer rock not fully pulling away from their reggae roots but it sounds amazing. A wonderful mix of soft rock and some good ole classic rock songs. If you want to relax or if you want to hype yourself up this is the album to listen to.

I like to compare this band to Cage the Elephant just without the fame. They've yet to make national radio play but there is no lack of talent here, believe me. They have a true honest guitar sound and a great drummer. Kyle Wareham, one of the bands front men and lead singer does an excellent job with the switch to a more rocked out album. Kory Kochersperger, the bands drummer, has no problem with a switch to the rocked out album. This reggae drummer was not left in the shadows, in fact his drum lines shine bright through the whole album. Chris Duddy is a powerful guitarist, the music on Trigger is just phenomenal.

When this album came out, I was blown away. I was just amazed that this seemingly small reggae band could make such a rocked out album as well as they did. I still go back and listen to their reggae soft rock off Always Anyways or Not as Far. Even on Always Anyways, the album released before We Are Electric, you could here some rocked out tracks being dropped in with songs like Half Filled Boxes or Hello Vertigo. No Three Legged Fox fan expected the switch that was We Are Electric and all i can say is bravo.

This is a great indie/alt rock band to check out. Like i said before i like to compare these guys a lot to Cage The Elephant, especially with their new rock album We Are Electric. Their switched up sound works with them well and hopefully we will here more of that on their latest album. Like i said though, with a band as talented as this, i really have no idea which direction they could take, more rock, back to the reggae roots, or maybe a new direction. I'm looking forward to here what their new sound beholds.

Hopefully after Ultraviolet gets released I will be able to get an interview with these guys to talk about the process of their new album and the musical direction of their band. I highly Recommend listening to We Are Electric and keep your ears open for Ultraviolet. Hopefully I will get a review and an interview of it.

-L.D.
