Review Summary: Balance And Composure have released one of the most mesmerizing and entertaining listens of the year with their third effort, "Light We Made."

Balance And Composure has always been a band that I have enjoyed a lot, despite being mostly a metal fan. Their music just speaks to me and is always a fun listen. So when I heard that they were going to be putting out new material, I was very excited. Now that the new album has arrived, I can say that they have not disappointed. This is a stellar album by a great band that somehow never writes a bad album, despite the fact that they never write the same album twice.

Now, I'm not saying that every song on this album is perfect. After hearing lead single "Postcard," I fell in love and had built a great anticipation for the album. However, when "Afterparty" and "Spinning" were released, I wasn't so sure. These are still good songs, but they didn't strike the same note that "Postcard" did. There are a few other low points on the album, including songs like "For A Walk," but for the most part, this album is full of mesmerizing moments that will take you to the moon and back. Highlights "Midnight Zone" and "Postcard" show the band experimenting more, and they do it well. Others such as "Fame" and "Is It So Much To Adore?" show the band sticking to the sound created on sophomore album "The Things We Think We're Missing." Experimentation is a great and wonderful factor throughout this record, which brings me to my personal favorite song "Call It Losing Touch." The intro to this song almost has an 80's vibe to it, until it brings you into the chorus, which ends up being one of the best moments on the entire record with its electronic beat and beautifully-sung vocals. Now that I have mentioned some high points, I will talk about one detail which threw me off a bit. Closing song "Loam" would be fantastic and maybe even the best on the album, if it wasn't for the weirdly placed auto-tuned vocals in the verses. These parts just did not need the autotune, and kill the vibe of the song due to their frequent use.

"Light We Made" is a fantastic album and a very fun listen. Obviously with all music, it's not for everybody, but it has a very pleasant mellow vibe that leaves most listeners very satisfied. If you're a big fan of the band, this album will take you to new places, but it is still Balance And Composure. Fans will certainly not be let down by this beauty of a record.
