Review Summary: Linkin Park achieves the ever evasive Nihilvana Linkin Park really does an excellent job of relaying what every angst ridden, 8th grade white boy has ever felt in the deep confines of his chaotic little soul. Numb may be their theme song. Their raw, accessible sound is the perfect medium for the venting of said emotions, and perfectly supports such unforgettable choruses like, "Its easier to run Replacing this pain with something more Its so much easier to go Than face all this pain here all alone". That's right kids. Staying and sticking things through is tough. Consequences are lame. It's so much easier to just run. Fill that void in your soul with a cheap substitute for reality and truth, and ignore the fact that others are also being affected by your actions and words.
Not only are these tortured white children being nurtured by Linkin Park's all seeing insight, but also Nihilists everywhere. Nihilism is the way, according to "Numb". When they sing the words, "All I want to do is be more like me and be less like you", one has to entertain the thought that in that very moment, Linkin Park officially achieved Nihilvana: a state that only the most intensely self enthralled Nihilists have ever even come close to scraping the surface of. The world is a rough place, full of bad people, bad breaks, and lots pain, but somehow it's particularly bad in YOUR little corner of it. That dark, festering, gross little mold infested stink-hole that you've climbed into to lick your wounds brood on how the world has turned it's cold shoulder towards you and singled you out as someone worth taking the time to torture. One cannot ever hope to truly reach Nihilvana until they have finally, undoubtedly realized that no one understands them, and that whatever struggles they have going on inside are truly, truly terrible. You have to shut out the world and humanity, especially any god of any kind (unless you think that He's the one causing all your pain and not listening to you, and then it's cool again). You and your pain must become the centerpiece of your mind-palace and must reign supremely forever and ever amen!
Simply put: Meteora is a staggering work of genius, deeply and profoundly influencing the lives of Nihilistic angst ridden white boys everywhere.

Well written but reeks of self-adulation. Speak more about the music instead of being a self-proclaimed smartass.

Well written but brutal haha, this album was my go-to album back in school. The review makes quite a large generalisation, but it was a fun read i grant you

Meh review is more of a rant against the lyrics, nothing is said about the music. To be honest, I can accept another opinion on this, but the review wasn't good...
| | | Album Rating: 3.0
This is some deeply meta commentary here. Review rages against Linkin Park like Linkin Park fans rage against mom and dad.
| | | Album Rating: 5.0
Meh, when I listened to this album I couldn't understand the lyrics as I wasn't speaking English so I couldn't care less about what they said. They are definitely cheesy lyrics but I don't remember raging against my parents... In fact my dad liked Linkin Park so yeah, ^crap comment...
I still can't understand how people say it is a good review? It doesn't even talk about the music, only a caricature of why edgy white boys liked the record... supposedly...

Rastapunk is the winner of this thread. Nice rant, maybe review it next time.

I had a super duper happy childhood, and I liked this album.
There must be something wrong with me.

Its not really a good review of the music, but I think the reviewer knows that and I don't think he intended it to be.
| | | Album Rating: 3.5
Well if that were to be the case this article doesn't need to be here.
| | | Album Rating: 4.5
Yeah, its still an entertaining piece of writing, but on a music review site its a bit pointless
