Review Summary: Will Oldham two albums away from singing the phone book over the sound of a monkey smashing its fists against a typewriter

Can whoever picked 'reading fortune cookie messages over a minimal psychedelic drone jam session' in the 2016 Bonnie 'Prince' Billy side project sweepstake please collect their 1st Prize of a 'Chinese Banquet for one' coupon from the desk at the front of the room - congratulations, may wisdom follow you in all future endeavours :3

Serving suggestion:

Track 1: May Life Throw You a Pleasant Curve

Track 2: Nature Makes Us For Ourselves
- Char siu Bao

Flavoursome!

Track 4: Your Whole Family are Well
- Half crispy aromatic duck

Addictive!

Track 5: Despair is Criminal
- Crispy seafood noodle (with scallops and prawns)

Crunchy!

Track 6: You Are Not 'Superman'
- Sweet and sour king prawn

Tangy!

Track 7: Show Your Love and Your Love Will be Returned
- Pork cutlets in honey and black pepper

Delicious!

Track 8: You Will Soon Discover How Truly Fortunate You Really Are
- Egg fried rice

All things! Joyous! (may contain traces of flute)

Track 9: Your Hard Work is About to Pay Off. Keep On Keeping On.
- Banana fritter

A sweet note to end!

Enjoy! The number 4 is lucky for you today.

Album is wtf but I'm digging it, I read a few other reviews of this but they all struggled to say anything more than dude is reading fortune cookies over a jam session

I think some people here might enjoy this a bit. I mean the concept is funny as crispy duck but the album's actually a solid happy mellow jam

Chinese food is more about finding new animals and parts of animals to eat so can see how it's not the best for veggies

i know. i even went into a chinese restaurant the other week and the waitress started trying to eat my dick under the table. thankfully it spat in her face in self-defence. the thought of my penis in a stew is frightening as fuck, to say the least.

I'll probably pass on this album but the review is better than a heaping bowl of hot & sour soup

Boney this is a quality summer night spin I'm thinking.

It's pretty good for sleepy times too, fell asleep to it last night

Which Will Oldham albums do you already know? This is like the anti-'I See a Darkness'

I've never actually heard any Will Oldham aside from a song here and there. I know I See A Darkness is a certified classic but I've never gotten around to hearing it in full.

Ah ok, this probably isn't the best starting point to get into Will Oldham

As you like your country influence 'Beware', 'LieDown in the Light' or 'Viva Last Blues' could be your best entry point
