Review Summary: Toss that dime, give me heads or tails

Before Juicy J used bandz to make her dance, he was using a zip and a double cup to get high as ***. The prolific Three 6 Mafia member came out swinging in his 2011 mixtape that may have highlighted his best lyricism and certainly his most outlandish. Adopting such thematic constants as virility, affluence and the joys of chemical dependence, Juicy weaves together a riveting account of a trap lifestyle with ardency and fervor.

Starting with a hefty admission of drug reliance in 'A Zip And A Double Cup', Mr. J admits that he’s got a “ziplock bag of kush [and a] double cup full of drank” and then further contrasts his lifestyle with the listener’s by stating that “you say no to drugs, Juicy J can’t”. The concept of addiction is further explored in the marijuana anthem 'Stoner’s Night' and the oddly instructional 'Inhale'.

'Stoner’s Night' chronicles a specific instance of Juicy J being with a culturally unidentifiable and menstruating female who “gon’ let Juicy J, nut in her face.” Juicy J later, rather sheepishly, admits that “the bitch licked my bum.” Where 'Stoner’s Night' seems to tell a story, 'Inhale' takes a different approach in requesting the listener to heed Juicy’s repetitious suggestion and just “inhale”.

An aspect of Mr. J’s lifestyle that he can’t overlook in this tape is his significant wealth and his relatively ostentatious lifestyle. On his cultural keystone track 'Who Da Neighbors' Juicy explains that he owns an estate which is situated on 40 acres of pristine landscape and that the grounds are so expansive that he is unaware as to who lives next to him. He further describes his opulence in a relatively unorthodox shift of grammatical tense by stating he will “get money, get pussy, smoking weed forever.”

Juicy also shows his aggressive side by explaining that he “bought some guns yesterday” and that he is going “to buy some more today”. He further explicates why unlicensed firearms are called throwaways and tells what he will do with them. Along with the promise of violence in 'Bought Some Guns Yesterday', Juicy also makes a vicious threat in 'Met The Wrong Gun' by letting the audience know that “the next time they see his body they gon’ need a tombstone.” Juicy then ends the tape with a very in-depth analysis of gender relations in the aptly named 'Pussy Between Yo Legs'. Questioning the economic stability of women and suggesting that they “better sell that pussy bitch or swing that head” Juicy J tells women that they had better not complain about lack of finances.

All-in-all, Juicy J displays dynamicism, lyrical acrobatics and an understanding of human culture unrivaled in the trap music scene. If you are inquisitive about what a thug lifestyle is or would like to get your feet wet in an incredible trap tour de force, look no further than Rubba Band Business 2.

This review is well-written but the analysis is hyperbolic to say the least.
