Nice to see this covered and of course a great review. This album is naturally a shadow of the greatness the band would become in later years, though is still for me a fairly decent album in its own right. A few suggestions:
"Vocalist and front-man Carl McCoy's manages to cut through the gloom"
Did you miss a word out in this sentence? It feels like it needs "voice" or a similar word after "McCoy's".
"but even the potential of his deep gutteral rumble is largely wasted."
Change "gutteral" to "guttural", I'm pretty sure that's the right spelling. Same for "palateable" in the last paragraph, I think it's actually "palatable".

Vet for the Insane. After the following albums easy to forget how much punch this song had, just a real slow burner with all it’s power just below the surface. And it ends with the pocket watch tune from For A Few Dollars More. Although this album is overshadowed by the next two, there is nothing that sounds like this one. Such a unique vision.

dang this does yeehaw in places, very cool sound. Wonder what's everyone's preferred tracklist though, there's at least 3
edit: bruh. The issues on Discogs are a rabbit hole. There are the 3 main tracklists (UK, US and the CD) but then there are also random ones like one from Japan
