Review Summary: Just your standard Korn live affair, with some dubstep nonsense.1 of 5 thought this review was well written
I bought this in the clearance at HMV (Make of that what you will) and this is for the most part your standard Korn live experience. The show was filmed to 'celebrate' the launch of what is probably Korn's worst album, The Path Of Totality and the setlist reflects heavily on that. And that's just the problem. Dubstep and Korn just doesn't mix, and that's a fact. The only dubstep track I can really listen to and enjoy is 'Get Up' and then I usually skip the rest. (Though for the purposes of this review I had to listen to them)
The non dubstep songs start at track eight with the fantastic 'Here To Stay' and from there on, it's just like any other Korn live show. The setlist staples are all here, from 'Another Brick In The Wall' to 'Freak On A Leash'. It's also good that they play 'Predictable', a fan favourite from their superior debut album. As Jonathan Davis says, "I'm just pulling this out of my ass".
A particular high point is 'Falling Away From Me', with the fantastic, almost death metal breakdown. The album ends with probably their best and most well known song 'Blind' and then it's over. If there was more actual Korn songs on this album it would get a higher rating, but sadly there aren't and that completely drags it down. The video is of excellent quality and features all of the songs from the CD.
So in short, if you're thinking about getting this album, don't but it for any more than £7.99 and be prepared to skip the first seven tracks.
