Review Summary: As good as NSV, apart from vox

We all know Cryptopsy. They’re the guys that made None So Vile and this sputnik so yeah you know them.

Following the legendary NSV, Lord Worm and Cryptopsy parted ways so Lord Worm could regain power from the blood of infants. As a band that could’ve gotten any one of a hundred good dm vocalists, they went to 90’s metalcore reject Mike DiSalvo. Now DiSalvo is easily the most hated aspect of Whisper Supremacy, with his “I wanted to try out for Botch but I guess dm it is” style not gelling with the out and out brutal assault of the instruments. However vox aside, the rest of the band is in tip top shape dishing out brutality and insanity on more or less the same level as NSV. Probs even better, I mean had Lord Worm been on the mike (haha), this may have even equalled NSV, who knows?

First things first this album is redonkulously heavy. So heavy, in fact, that I had to refill my petrol tank FIVE TIMES when listening to this on the way home. It’s simply skull crushing stuff mates, exactly what Cryptopsy are remembered for. I was walking home and this drop bear launched a devo assault but I pulled out whisper supremacy and well *** drop bear: 1 me: 0, but at least I rec’d him a good album. This does, however, repel hoop snakes but drop bears are god tier so yeah sorry Jac and Lloyd but you’re ***ed

As mentioned instrumentals on this rule. They are on top of their game and to be honest Flo isn’t a human inb4 “Gene Hoglan is better” no he isn’t Flo transcends dm drumming much like Reinart but Flo blasts harder therefore >. The guitarists are also bringing the brutal but in a good way. Whisper is definitely more technical than NSV but isn’t over the top wank a la Planetary Duality. Bassist also goes pretty hard as well, which is necessary if you’re gonna keep up with Levasseur and co. This is, instrumentally, defs on par with NSV and to those that say it isn’t I say ok but you’re wrong.

Downside? Vox. More like cox cause this is really a ***ty performance compared to what this album deserves. I mean DiSalvo (sounds like a shortened “Dicks All Over” :D) tries hard but man when metalcore guys are on dm vox *** is never gonna go down well. And well if my titties weren’t already stiff in frustration with this dude he tries to pull a Lorm Worm impersonation 10 seconds from the end of album highlight “Cold Hate, Warm Blood” like it actually sounds like he begins a “Crown of Horns” cover but the rest of the band tells him to shut the *** up so he fades out. Seriously checkit

HOWEVER the ability to overlook DiSalvo’s vocals “performance” reveals an awesome album that combines the over the top assault of NSV with technicality that serves its purpose. Vox suck but yeh I’ve covered that.
Honestly if you liked NSV or brutal dm in general you owe it tou yourself to check this cause past the vocals it is a really high standard of dm.

dont try to be funny
you can still make good reviews that try to be funny but they generally make more effort than swearing a lot and using terms like dicks

To The Reviewer

It was Lord Worm at the end of Cold Hate,Warm Blood. He was also on Loathe for a cameo and wrote the lyrics to a couple of the songs here
