Review Summary: essential prog metal you havent even heard poseur

10 of 12 thought this review was well written

If there is one major downside to being elite its that when you add albums which no one has heard and you tell em to jam them no one ***ing does, this is a bitch because i work hard lookin throuhg blogz and ESOTERIC charts for my metal brothers and they dont even bother! I found this band on some PROG METAL OR DIE blog and i was like damn thats a sweet band and album name so i got it, and damn did i make a sweet ass choice. Sacred Blade were a progressive metal band who sadly only produced one album in their career, i dont know much of their history but honestly who cares, lets talk about what really matters, riffs. The riffs on this album are heavy yet melodious, the power chords are usually accompanied by tasteful lead harmonies and riffz. The vocalists diversity is impressive, the dude usually sings in a mid range manner but on tracks like Salem he inserts his butt plugs and really ***ing goes for it, he honestly gives geddy a run for his money. The acoustic sections on this album are amazing, the section towards the end of To Lunar Winds is some of the most beautiful i've heard in metal. The epic track The Enlightenment features Neil Pearts black dude voice and really sets the mood for the song ahead, it literally feels like you are flying through space and *** god this rocks. Speaking of Neil Peart the drums are very solid, while they arent close to the complexity of other progressive metal bands such as Dream Theater, they compliment the songs well with subtle fills and jams. But the real stand out on the album is the final instrumental track Moon, honestly this is one of the best prog metal songs ever made, no ***ing bull***, its got everything you'd want, atmospheric build ups, harmonized lead riffs, groovy bass, tight and interesting drum patterns, and most importantly of all, passion.

To say the album is purely scruplinder would not do it justice, this is a marvel of progressive metal that every dude should own, anyone from notrap to ballz3d would dig it and i highly recommend this to my metal brothers, it will not disappoint your brainz. If you dig bands such as Dream Theater, Fates Warning, Psychotic Waltz or even fucking Maiden then do yourself a favour and pick up a copy of Of the Sun + Moon, if you can find it of course.

Well they have way more people cuz their highest voted album has like 22,000 and here it's like 5,000 so you have to divide by like 4, but that's still a lot more there
