Release Date: 2012 | Tracklist

Devormity is new comer in South East Asia regional death scene (formed in December 2009). Their latest formation to date is; Jack (vocals), Anggi (guitar), Ferry (guitar), Redda (drums), and Ekky (bass). They didn't release any LP album yet. As far I know until this recent time (March 2012), they only released one EP; Suffering Inhuman The Impalement (released in January, 2012).

The album comprises five tracks with 23 minutes long duration. Yeah, these guys showed us some progressive death! Track Anaesthetized is the real case of example; within seven minutes long play, yes we'll find some brutal and fast sound attacking our eardrums. Anyway, Anaesthetized is less in technical touch. I mean, it's okay if you played in that such long duration, but you should throw some unique compositions or various unusual leaning that restrain your listener from bored situation. If you didn't, your seven minutes song won't kick anybody ass (or balls, or whatever you'll say, dude!). Then, opening track Karlmayer is awesome synth sound. You can hear the kind of dog's groaning in pain sound which is fused with female's humming voices. In this Karlmayer track, we'll find some atmospheric sound, in other side it might sound like typical horror movie scores. This is great intro anyway! Then, let's stay close to another three tracks; New Age Savage, Suffering Inhuman The Impalement, and Whims Of Humans Madness, I would say that those guys did understand how to play what we considered as (technical brutal) death. With some blasting upbeat/downbeat drums hitting, the intensity of songs progression and structure, and with their speed and violent sound, Devormity did their job fairly well done. In some parts, they also managed to put into the songs some melodic elements so as to spice up the sound. While music is relatively good, vocals didn't show us yet anything new; low and dark guttural, seem still to become standard postulate in creating death metal works.

Well, this is great release!

This review isn't really good just because it seems like English isn't your first language. It's very choppy and doesn't read well.

Hawks@you're right, hawks! english isn't my first language. you won't get some well written prose in my reviews. i'm surely always be happy if somebody read my review and understand what i said here (got the point). my first priority joining sputnik is to share another alternative sources of music (especially metal) to global scale. i'm from south east asia by the way, i'll share my words to other sputnikers from my metal regional scene that deserve enough a listen......
