Review Summary: If this is Christian Metal then I'm a Saint.

4 of 7 thought this review was well written

OK so this is a perfect example of Australia's finest. Mortification are "OG's" that know how to death metal. With their secong LP release in 1992, "Scrolls of the Megilloth" has some of the nastiest and gritty death metal you can find. This is a true classic. Why these guys are called Christian Death Metal[inb4 pizza] is beyond me. When you hear the death like thrashing of death dicks in tracks like "Lymphosarcoma" you can't help but think of satan throwing thunderbolt fist' at opponents. The longest existing band member since '90, Steve Rowe brings the guttural vox hard with a slamming bass hand that brings the disgust.

These guys could be singing about david and goliath for all I care, but this is str8 up death metal. If this is what they play in churches then why aren't all metalers Christians. Because this isn't fuking christian music you fags. This is satanic warlust. Yeah Steve's talking about scrolls and what not, but just because you talking elements of the bible doesn't make you a Christian band[althought pizza would like to think so, jk love you].

"Deth Requiem" contains several stand out moments of fist blasting beats and trems that never stop. The vocals always match the fury as the song keeps blending effective riff after riff. The albums flow is perfect. Their are high tempos of controlled insanity and breakdowns of fiery hell. With occasional skit voices, atmosphere is taken to knew levels.

Riff can't talk bad about this album because he doesn't know what good metal it, that's why you should check this out. Late.

The prog geek in me still thinks this album is amazing. Track four is rather lacking and maybe track one isn't quite the best, but the rest are absolutely top-notch classic death metal from start to finish. Reading the lyrics booklet just adds to the effect; these are probably the most well-written aggressive Christian lyrics around, and I certainly was inspired to fight by them. I wish Mortification still sounded like this; it was their unique way of crafting imagery as powerful, almost apocalyptic and sheer metal as the music that made them stood out, and that quality is all but absent nowadays.

kind of short but a really good review, have a pos.
I've heard some of there stuff before and theyre damn heavy. Believe it or not there's "Christian" Black metal (Though you
probably already knew that).
I've actually seen one live, put on a pretty good show.
