Review Summary: A wonderful album.13 of 16 thought this review was well written
"Pokemon Christmas Bash" is the Christmas released by the Pokemon cast in 2001. This album features all of the members of the original cast. The opening title track is a Christmas remix of the '90's gangsta rap classic "O.P.P" by Naughty By Nature, with Brock trying his hardest Ice-T impression about kissing the characters Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny, respectively. He also asks Santa to put them both under the mistletoe. Next up is Misty, who sounds like a mix between Gwen Stefani and "Humpty Hump" (Shock G) from Digital Underground. Ash flips his signature snapback hat around to do a pretty boss Fred Durst and Eminem impression, and then Team Rocket use their British accents to complement Meowth, who has an epic Brooklyn dialect. Other choice highlights include "Under The Mistletoe", which isn't a loose cover of "Under The Bridge" by Red Hot Chili Peppers, but an amusing tale of Misty and Ash getting under the mistletoe at a party. At the question that Misty asks Ash about whether he's aware he's under the mistletoe with her, he retaliates by screaming like he has a coiled snake in his pants. He leaves to get some more Christmas cookies. Presumably, they're made by Pillsbury. This is an album that has about the same number of wacky skits as Redman's "Malpractice" and this is a joyous and hilarious Christmas album. Another noteworthy skit occurs in "The Night Before Christmas" in which Misty asks Ash if he has more wood, to which Ash replies, "Oh, yeah!" in a Fred Durst voice. This album will touch your spirit this Christmas season. Happy December, Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year!
