This excellent Album is what changed the face of Aussie Rock Music forever. It may be The Full on Roar of Bon Scott's voice, it could be the entertaining and very talented Angus Young's hard rock riffs and solos or the 3 man rhtyhm section of Mark Evans, Phil Rudd and Malcolm Young that gives AC/DC the simple, yet very effective groove that some other rock bands could never have.
1.It's A Long Way To The Top (If You Wanna Rock N Roll)
this song is one of Bon Scott's most famous tracks, this track has a very basic, but effective guitar riff that is commonly known throughout guitar players. In this Song, Bon brings some of his Scottish heritage into this song with a bagpipe solo with 4 other Bagpipe players. Brilliant song (4.5)
2.Rock N Roll Singer
This song is nothing but hard Rock 'n Roll, opening with a short Angus Young solo. Bon tried to give a message in this song, he tells the story of Bad Behaviour, Long Hair and a dream, the perfect Rock n Roll image. A great song, typical Hard Rock AC/DC (4)
3.The Jack
a different side to AC/DC, more of a blues song than a rock song, but a classic! Angus and Malcolm put in a great effort to create (in my opinion) the greatest blues riff AC/DC have ever created, and Mark Evans puts in great bass during the verse and Phil Rudd plays more of a jazz tune to suit the song, awesome song (5)
4.Livewire
A very bassy song, nearly all throughout the song Mark Evans is playing that low note, the verse contains a build up to which then goes to an explosive chorus. Late in the song, The Young Brothers play a catchy riff and then ends with hard rock! good song (4)
5.T.N.T
a very famous track, a basic rock n roll guitar riff in the verse, and then comes the very famous lyrics of the chorus..."TNT, IM DYNAMITE" with the "OI's" in the backing vocals of Angus, malcolm and Mark then ends very loudly with some explosive rock and plenty of cymbal hitting, brilliant song (5)
6.Can i Sit Next To You Girl
The Best song on the album, the best guitar in an AC/DC song ive ever heard with more than 3 different riffs. starts slowly then turns into an awesome bluesy riff. the first ever AC/DC song, originally sung by Dave Evans. And at the end of a song there is a build up and then Bon Screaming: "CAN I SIT NEXT TO YOU GIRL!!" A F**** ripper!! (6/5)
7.Little Lover
a slower AC/DC track, with some great singing by Scott and some wicked guitar work by angus, and some nice stickwork from Phil. a good song but nothing special (3.5)
8.She's Got Balls
contains really nice guitar riff at the very start of the song, and some funny lyrics written in the song, this song is good but a bit too repeatitive (3.5)
9.High Voltage
this song represents exactly what AC/DC are, loud, hard and explosive. a good opening stream of music and especially good drums from Phil, a very catchy chorus with good guitar and some lively singing from Bon. Great song (4.5)
this is my first ever review, hoped you like it, cheers ;)
