In the name of hip hop Flame has sold close to a million records and was nominated for a Grammy. With that being said few people actually know who he is. Flame is one of the biggest and best christian rappers today, and his newest album “Captured” was released in December. With so little press I feel the need to bring attention and and review his fifth studio album “Captured”.Lets take a look at why “Capture” succeeds in being Flames best Cd, and a shining jewel in Christian hip hop.

“Captured” is a album almost three years in the making, and Flame delivers .Flames goal for “Captured” is to capture you through the spirit for Gods glory. He does this through his testimony's found in his music. Flames convicting story's and word play are at his best and he touches on some deep issues. Flame discusses his troubled youth, friends dying, and of course worship unto the Lord. He also covers on strong christian ideas like repenting and turning from your sins. Lyrically this album stacks out like a solid jenga tower above many. Flame says "i thought i was almost dead, plus i felt trapped. Some nights i would ride and just wanna snap. But i was chasing sin thought it would lift me up. Seemed like my only hope to get me out my rush. And part of me hated everything i was doing. See i was terrified, thought my life would be ruined. But i was so addicted felt like i couldn't quit". That shows just how great Flames writing is. I honestly find a difficult time recommending songs to you as a reader because I enjoyed every song on this album.

“Captured” comes complete with many banger songs that have some powerful beats to them.”Put On” lives up to its title and the bass on the song bangs hard. Also the song “Move” will have you dancing with lines like “to the left with it to the right with it”, “when the Lord tells me move I move”.Also songs “Alive”,”Power”,”Double Back” and “Nonsense” are all worth a listen to for beats. The rest of the songs feel less like rap and more like just straight worship music. Flame brings new upcoming artist V. Rose to the table whose voice will blow you away in seconds. V. Rose singing range and powerful voice can be heard in songs “Surrender” and “Captured Me”. Also artists Thisl,Chris Lee, and even Lecrae makes it out on the album on a bonus track.

The production of this album is really high and you can tell that Flame went to great lengths to make this album. With strong beats, great lyrical content and the powerful voice of V. Rose this album holds its own .I hope to see many artists put in the time and work to make a album like “Captured” and I will be listening to it for a while. If you don't have Captured and like hip hop its definitely worth a download.
