Review Summary: Motherf*cking black masks and gasoline

Rise Against need no introduction. While the bands sound has slowly transformed from hardcore punk rock to somewhat mainstream 'punk'rock, overall the sincerity and talent of each member has contributed to the success of the band. Coming from someone who's been a fan of this band for a decade plus, I can honestly say what many RA fans feel and think. Revolutions Per Minute were the glory days. The songs have so much ***ing fire, passion and balls.

If your not pissed at every injustice and wrong in this world after listening to this record, something is wrong. Tim McGrath is one of the most powerful, endearing and ***ing rawking punk rock vocalists seen the last ten years. Granted, some elitists will cry "Rise Against aren't punk rock you faggot", but you know what? *** you. Your wrong. Listen to this record and tell me this band isn't punk. This band helped my young self get into real 80's hardcore/punk and I'm sure many of you feel the same.

Black Masks and Gasoline kick things off with a bang. Furious drumming, scathing vocals and skin blistering guitars and basslines mark this song as one of RA's best. This is ***ing modern punk at it's finest. Another favorite of mine, Broken English has an infectious guitar riff and blistering drums. Joe Princippe is a fantastic bassist, offering unique basslines and tons of groove. To The Core is absolute pure ***ing punk rock, pissed off aggression at its finest.

Songs likeReady to Fall, Give It All and Collapse are how most people know Rise Against, and while those are all great songs, nothing compares to this record. Here's hoping the new record Endgame brings back the energy and youthful revolt of Revolutions Per Minute
