My Chemical Romance was picked up by the New Jersey independent label Eyeball Records. They recorded ther debut album in May of 2002 in an incredible 10 days. They spent the next 14 months constantly touring building up a huge fan base.
This album is better than their new release "Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge." Even though they have become more popular and have even a bigger fan base than before "I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love" this album is a masterpiece for this genre of music.

Great Tracks On The Album
Track 2: Honey, This Mirror Isn't Big Enough For The Two Of Us
The song starts off with the lead guitar playing this sort of creepy rift while the rhythm guitar follows up playing octaves in the backround. The relationship between lead and rhythm is perfect. It then goes into the verse with some palm muting and leads into the chorus where Gerard vocals are perfect for this song. He changes his mood from angry to sad and back throughout the song. A big difference from this cd and their new release is Gerads vocals range alot more on this. Sometimes he growls, screams, yells, sings there is just all different kinds of variety which is a good thing. This is by far one of the best songs on the record and one of the best My Chemical Romance has recorded. 5/5
Track 3: Vampires Will Never Hurt You
This is another great song by them. The drums start in, then the bass, which is soon followed by the guitar. It starts off soft and quiet and then slides into the distorted guitars. The verses in this song are perfect as well as the lyrics its almost like he is telling you a story. There is a great variety with the guitars. They are clean and soft playing the verses and then become distorted while playing the chorus. There are excellent guitar riffs nothing fancy but they have rhythm. This is another great song by MCR. 5/5
Track 6: Headfirst For Halos
The guitar comes in setting the pace by playing pull-offs which then leads into a little solish piece. Next thing that comes in is a growl from Gerad that starts off the verse. It then leads into the chorus and back to the same riff for the verse. The best part is when the solo starts. This fits in just perfect with the song. This might be the most happy song on the record. 4/5
Track 10: Cubicles
Some people might not think of this song as one of the best but this is just a quick, catchy, and nice song to just listen to. The intro and verse starts of with a catchy riff. The chorus is pretty basic but what stands out is Gerard's vocals. It starts to pick up at the bridge when the palm muting starts and then leads into hammer-ons and then the outro. It does get a little repetitive when he keeps saying "I know you don't work here anymore" and "Sometimes I think I die alone" but it is still a good song to listen to. The outro is the best. 4/5
Track 11: Demolition Lovers
This is a great song to end the album off. It starts off with a clean guitar playing a soft riff while Gerad sings. For the first few minutes it repeats the same guitar pattern with a little catchy riff after the chorus. Then at about about 2:50 it pauses and then a guitar comes in while Gerard repeats "All we are is bullets I mean this" which leads into a great guitar solo that leads into the chorus for the end of this great song. 5/5
Not So Good Tracks On The Album
Track 8: Early Sunsets Over Monroeville
Nothing really stands out on this song. The song doesn't start off good or interesting at all to get you to listen to it and it doesn't really go uphill from there. It's and ok song I guess but probably the worst on the cd. 2/5
Track 9: This Is The Best Day Ever
The song doesn't really stand out from any of the others and there is nothing interesting or catchy about the song. 2.5/5
If you are deciding between getting the first MCR cd or their new release go with their first one. This is a great cd to have if your a fan of this kind of music. I give this cd 4/5. Rate this review please.
