Now ontot eh album:
Breathe 5/5
It starts off withan organ and a gruff voice very strange may turn you off at first but still brilliant. The chorus is guitar and a synth very beautiful with a womans voice in the backround beautiful lyrics and gorgeous melodies.
To the Field 3.5/5
This song just starts off with a few guitar melodies and a hushed voice and a nice song with lyrics that remind me of regret of something they should have achieved but they didnt. There is no proper chrorus but a little break with a clean electric guitar and acoustic which is very relaxing. Then another passage and one of my favourite line's "Flesh gives way to the world in her eyes". Then a bit of a build up until all there is a moaning and some strumming on guitar which gets very repitive very quickly.
My Work is Done 3/5
Just a little break sining of his work "My forge and Hammer lie reclined"
Not much can be said about this album but it is a nice song. With a banjo near the end which will make a better appereance later on.
Hallowed Ground 3.9/5
This song has the same riff pretty much through all of it and I love Steve's voice in this song and the Lyrics in this song really stand out for me in this song and the chorus him just singing Lie on. Very nice song a tad bit repetitive but good allt he same.
This river 5/5
I love this song one of the highlights of the album the banjo did turn me off at first but after a while I really started to appreciate it and Till's
haunting voice and lyrics. Then hits the chorus one of the most beautiful lines I have ever heard on any instrument and Till just moaning if you dont like the song wait until it hits to the chorus. After the next verse the chrous changes a bit. A bit of a dramtic feel to it and now the viola's
or violins are playing puts a nice touch to it then the synth and him singing like someone is plunging to there doom.
Running Dry 5/5
This is the most upbeat and poppy song off the album but a brilliant one at it his voice is great throughout and the verses are excellent about talking about a lost love some of my favourite lyrics. With one of the greatest
chrouses ever and you cant help but singalong with "Im sorry for the things I've done I have shamed myself with lies. The chorus and verse are a tad bit different but nothing dramitically different and then it leads on for a minute jam which you wish he says more.
The Wild Hunt 5/5
My current favourite song. Same with a few hushed vocals and little guitar melodies but the chrous is beautiful "Howling beast and un-earthly cries, The one eyed rider storms the sky" and it hints at Odin very uprising song and you cant help but sing along.
Am I Born to Die 4.9/5
This instrument reminds me of a fiddle but I know it is a violin (I think)
and to me this is Till's most emotional vocal work raspy and questioning many things very beautiful but lacks something I do not know what but it feels like that it is a brilliant song otherwise very heart felt.
Dawn 2.9/5
There is something about this song that bores me I do not know what but it gets me every time I usually skip it.
The Harpy 3.9/5
This poem is done by Tills grandfather Sean and it is about a whore and man's uncontrollable urges andshame. There is a few things in the background as a synth and dron guitar.
Well this was my first review tell me what you think
