So Far So good so what, is and always will be an album that is thought by most as a masterpeice. Some may argue that its one of the worst albums to be released by Megadeth but if you take the time to listen to it im sure that youl conclude that its a classic nonetheless. Note that the album does take a bit of time to get used to, but after a while youl love it.
Just so you know:
In 1986 Megadeth released the metal classic Peace Sells but whose buying to be critically acclaimed by metal heads all over the world. So how were they going to follow up to PS? Well in 1988 they released SFSGSW an album that was warmly received by the Megadeth community. Although the first version of the album had very recording quality the remastered edition cleared up these problems, so if you can buy the remastered version.
Tracks:
Into The Lungs Of Hell (Instrumental): The song starts off with a great guitar riff that is weaved in with horns, which creates an amazing effect. The song then pummels into dark thrashy riffs, which really make you feel like your entering hell. The whole song is a masterpeice, as well as a great suitable opener.
5/5
Set the world afire: At first we hear a 50s interlude of a song with the lyrics Set The World Afire. This little peice really creates a joyful mood to the song but dont worry the song soon goes into a legendary deth riff and then some chaotic lyrics that actualy pain a clear picture of an incinerating world. This was the first megadeth song dave wrote while he was still in Metallica. Its a very good song although it isnt the highest point on the album so in that case...
4.5/5
Anarchy In The UK: Its a good cover of the sex pistol's song although im kind of wondering what a punk song is doing in a metal album. The solo is the high point of the song and really this version is a lot better than the sex pistols. Its still a cover though and I would be a lot happier with another non-cover instead of this.
4/5
Mary Jane: The highest point of the album. This song has masterful riffs accompanied by interesting lyrics. This is the definite sfsgsw song and whenever I hear it, I get a chill down by spine.

502: Pull Over ***head this is the Cops! What a great opener, Dave really scored with these lyrics and all in all this is a great thraser for banging your head. A very good song but isnt the masterpeice that either Mary Jane or In My Darkest Hour are.
4.5/5
In My Darkest Hour: Wow, what a powerful song. IMDO starts off with a mesmerizing acoustic part that is then transended with great guitarwork. This is the big hit from this albums and is definetly worth buying the album alone for. The end isnt as good as the beginning though. Some powerful lyrics here.
5/5
Liar:This is the lowest point of the album. Its still a decent song but the riffs dont add up to the other songs. I just cant get past the lyrics in the song.
4/5
Hook In Mouth: This song really grows on you. I still cant find it as good as a lot of the songs on the album but non the less its still a worthy addition to it. Intelligent lyrics are in here which is a plus.
4.5/5
Overall: This album is one of the definite Megadeth albums (Up there with RIP and PSBWB). Buy this classic as soon as you can if you dont already own it.
