Release Date: 2005 | Tracklist

Comeback Kid is:
Kyle Profetta - Drums
Scott Wade - Vocals
Andrew Neufeld - Guitar
Jeremy Hiebert - guitar
Kevin Call - bass

Comeback Kid is a Hardcore band based out of So-Cal, as surprising as that is,.
“Wake The Dead” was released on Victory Records on February 22nd, 2005. It’s having a lot of success right now. Their music is jam-packed with energy and great catchy choruses. Here is my review.

I found the lyrics to be fairly well-written, something that is lacking in a lot of hardcore bands. The guys voice is very typical to the genre, more of a yell then anything else. The choruses are really catchy, and seeing them live would be a really fun experience I think. Kyle Profetta really does a good job on vocals

Onto the guitar. This album has a lot of octaves. They really need to improve on that, same goes for their skills in general. The guitar work is really lacking in this band. It’s still not too bad, but their should definitely be some improvements in the guitar department next time around. It still sounds good though, don’t get me wrong.

Drums and bass. The drums on this album I was really impressed with. Nice and fast to keep your head banging (or hardcore dancing). The bass isn’t drowned out, which I really like, and is actually pretty good.

Overall, I think they made a good album. This band has a little more punk than some other hardcore bands. But metalheads can still jam to it. At least I can. Sorry the review is short though

Cons:
guitar work really isn’t that good
all songs very short

Pros:
great vocals
decent lyrics
great drums

I didn't read the other review until after i finshed this one. That was my mistake on the SoCal thing sorry. What's wrong with being named after a song by a half-decent metalcore band?

can you name me a straight-up hardcore band with dazzling guitarwork?
' I know after the breakdown, lets put in a 2 1/2 minute Malsteem neo classical shred...' its all about the tunes man!

that's something that makes hardcore orignal, it sounds good and you dont have to be an amazong musician to do it.

yes. quite. In comebacks the melody of the octave chords back up the vocals really well in the verses, allowing for more direct anthemic choruses.

Firstly, pardon the viciousness of my last post. I was in a bad mood last night. But don't get excited because you still suck. Now with that said...

Exactly. Hardcore focuses on emotion, not virtuosity/musical ability. Metal and hardcore are on completely opposite sides of the spectrum in this respect.

AILD are not half decent. They are garbage.

You can't do a music review and just talk about how well each instrument did their job.

Metal kids shouldn't review Hardcore bands.

You didn't even talk about the songs, just the instruments. What kind of crap is that?

One of the best old-school HC records I've heard in a while. The energy on this record floors me, and I like the fact that they're playing REAL hardcore, not the metalized bastard child stuff like Hatebreed does.

As for the guitar work, listen a bit harder... they're not always playing straight power chords all the time, they use some pretty complex voicings in most of their songs, and besides, hardcore was never about flashy guitar work anyways...

Awesome CD. I want to jump up and start stomping every time I listen to it, which sucks because I usually listen to it in the car. Definantly required listening for any hardcore fan. And they are not from California. They are most definantly from Canada.

If that's the case, that's a terrible reason to like Comeback Kid.

This album's pretty fair. I don't understand why people hate on it (or praise it) so much.
