Review Summary: Now altogether I know that I practically praised this band but this is just plainly an amazing album and altogether this band is right about the true thing called love. It hurts sometimes, and sometimes it doesn't. And as they say"girls make boys cry".

A Lesson In Romantics...well, all I can say about this band is I'm speechless with the fact of how amazing this band is. What caught my ears at the first time of hearing this band was the amazing vocals. Derek Sanders has one hell of a voice, and if you ask me, Jeremy Lenzo and Jake Bundrick go right along with him. The next thing that caught my ear while listening was the guitarist. The two guitarist , Alex Garcia and Brooks Betts, are well sounded out both with both the lead and the rhythm. Together it potrays a blast of riffs both heavy and not so heavy. Together this band has put on one hell of a show, or album that is. So, why did I rate this album a 5? Well I'll just do a song by song format.

1. Jamie All Over - I would not have picked this song as one of the best on the album. I am not saying, though, that it is a bad song. It just has that type of music that isn't quite like the other songs. The lyrics are very well written, though. That's basically it for this song. I'd give this song a 4.5.

2. Black Cat - Know where talking! This song is amazing with everything that is in it. First off, the lyrics are just amazing! They have everything that has to do with what the message is in the album. Now second, who would have thought that a guitar part starts out quiet and slow and all of a sudden, BAM! The guitar solo hits and everything goes wild.
Also the three singers in this song have a very balanced sound. I will rate this song a 5.

3. Whe I get home, Your so dead - This is the song that has a very good meaning to it. It is basically a break-up and get you back song. It has a very balanced vocal part and has good musical parts to it. I will give this song a 5.

4. Jersey - Now this song I like. It is very melodic and has a unique sound the type that is very beautiful and touching. Also the music in this song is nice and very pretty. The chorus has a good rhythm and the bridge has a good backround effect. This is one of my favorites, so I will also give this song a 5.

5. If you wanted a song written about you, All you had to do was ask - This song, like the other songs, is also a break-up song. It has a good lyrical and musical effect. It also has a great bassline at the beginning. I will give this song a 5 also.

6. Miserable at best - This song is probably the saddest song off the C.D. It is very depressing and though it is all piano, it is very good indeed. As well, the singers are very balanced and it goes great with the piano part. I will rate this song a 5.

7. Walk On Water or Drown - This song has a very good drum part and very good lyrics. It is more of an upbeat song compared to all the other ones, that is. Also the lyrics have a more upbeat sense as well. I rate this song a 5.

8. Ocean and Atlantic - This song is a good song but not the best. It is like all the other songs just not as melodic. It also does not have quite a large range of sound as the other songs do. I will rate this song a 4.5.

9. I'd hate to be you when people find out what this song is about - This song is an excellent song in my opinion, not just because of the great guitar solo, but also because it is very lyrical. Also the chorus has an awsome sound to it, in my opinion. I will give this song a 5.

10. Take this to heart - This song is a very good song. It is absolutely great for a person to listen. It is well written with the lyrics. I also like the fact that the backing vocals have a good sound in the song. I will rate this song as well a 5.

11. Champagne's For Celebrating( I'll take a Martini) - This song is a very good song for a break-up. The reason I believe this is more of a break-up song is because of the lyrical parts like "your walking down a road that I can't go." It is very sad but is still very good. I will give ths song a 5.

12. You be the anchor that keeps my feet on the ground, I 'll be the wings that keep your heart in the clouds - This song is a very depressing song. It is sort of a sad ballad. It also has a marching style to it because of the drum part. If you need a good cry, listen to this song. I will give this song a 5.

Now altogether I know that I practically praised this band but this is just plainly an amazing album and altogether this band is right about the true thing called love. It hurts sometimes, and sometimes it doesn't. And as they say"girls make boys cry". They sure do know their way with one thing, and that thing is...A Lesson In Romantics.

One thing I absolutely need to say: This band has absolutely no originality at all. Their name design is exactly like Linkin Park's and their music sounds exactly like Fall Out Boy. If I listened to one of their songs without knowing what band it was beforehand, I would seriously think it was a Fall Out Boy b-side or something from Infinity On High. If these guys have any talent, they're not showing any at all.

I randomly bought this CD one day at Bestbuy, best purchase of my life. The standout of this whole CD by far is the lyrics. Now, before you tear me apart on how you think they are completely unoriginal, listen. A week before purchasing this I had been cheated on by my g/f, and learned it had happened 3 times (3 different people) over the course of our entire relationship. Every song on this album hit close, besides Black Cat, which all of my friends love and I hate, no reason why I just don't like it lol. It captured every emotion and thought running through my head, and helped a lot.

Unfortunately, the sound captured on this album probably won't return. Jason Lancaster left the band (and to my knowledge he left far before the CD was released) and started up Go Radio, which carries on the same catchy songs that Mayday Parade has.

Oh, and who gives a s*** that the logo looks the same? We're not listening to a logo we're listening to music retards.
