The Powers That B - Part I: Niggas on the Moon
Been a DG fan from day 1 but this one's an incoherent mess. The repetition is annoying, the novelty has been reduced from catchiness and innovation to machine gun rattling stupidity. Noise for the sake of noise. Fav tracks are Say Hey Kid and Viola but the rest is not great. Do yourselves a favour and pick up Midcity by Clipping.

Great NIN album. Takes a long time to grow on you. Each track has a lot of character.
As per my former comment, i agree with zuzek. Although, I actually like The Refusal, I think that there are too few brilliant moments on this album. It was disappointing. I thought it was the cymbals but perhaps it's the snare. There is something wrong with the mix there. What happened to the guitar guy all of a sudden? It's like he's present but not totally present. Where is the power? There is *too much* of an emo vocal thing happening. Lets move on from the emo focus. I think the review hasn't given it credit. It's a grower. Know good rock when you hear it. It's not the latest forgettable pitchfork fad or technical metal fuckfest that teenagers get off on. God bless AIC for that.
