  • TheBarber Haven't seen trois couleurs yet but I'll pick it up in my university's videothèque ^^. Tbh French cinema isn't my favorite (too litterary) but it's got many diamonds. Also if you're willing to try a 1930's french silent classic then try and get a copy of Coeur Fidèle by Epstein (gorgeous music too!)

  • TheBarber Hacen't seen that one by Malle, if you though it was depressing get your stomach ready if you try his masterpiece Le Feu Follet. Zazie Dans le Métro is anything but depresing though

  • TheBarber sorry there's a lot of black and white/very odd films here but that's most of my references ^^enjoy!

  • TheBarber Rubber by Quentin Dupieux (2010, you probably know it but it's an hommage to the absurd in movies as well as a really entertaining oddity), La Haine by Kassovitz (1995, neo noir classic), Logorama (a famous 15 minute short movie that's always a blast to watch), Le Magnifique by Philippe de Broca (1973, entertaining, very french and with wild bursts of oddness. Finally/obviously: Pierrot Le Fou by Godard (1965, nouvelle Vague movement and most avant-garde classic of the bunch)

  • TheBarber K good period! in that case: Zazie Dans le Métro by Louis Malle (from the 60's, already talked about it in the deafheaven thread), Hirsohima mon Amour by Resnais (A film from the Rive gauche, a movement similar to Nouvelle Vague, wich makes it very experimental and "littéraire), Repulsion by Polanski (1965, when polanski was a fench director, extremly unnerving and paranoid), Enter The Void by Gaspard Noé (2009, in my top 10 fav, it's like an extreme/surreal psychedelic trip)
